Dr. Amy J. Goldberg, MD, FACS, is an emergency medicine doctor. She is best known as an expert in violence prevention and improved outcomes for victims of trauma. Her clinical interests include trauma and critical care. Currently, she is Interim Dean at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine.Dr. Goldberg often appears on national and local media, and her specific insights and expertise on gun violence were highlighted in the Huffington Post article “What Bullets Do To Bodies.” She leads the Cradle to Grave and Turning Point violence intervention programs, which have received national praise for their positive impact on the lives of youth and patients in North Philadelphia.Goldberg received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania, and her M.D. from Mt. Sinai School of Medicine. She did her residency in General Surgery at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, followed by a fellowship in Traumatology and Critical Care at the University of Maryland's Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems.
