Professor Ciara Torres-Spelliscy is a professor of Law. Her research focuses on campaign finance law and judicial selection. She teaches Election Law, Corporate Governance, Business Entities, and Constitutional Law at Stetson University.Prior to joining Stetson's faculty, Torres-Spelliscy was counsel in the Democracy Program of the Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law. There, she focused on the issues of money in politics and the judiciary. Before that, she was an associate at Arnold & Porter LLP, and a staffer for Senator Richard Durbin.Torres-Spelliscy is the editor of the "Writing Reform: A Guide to Drafting State and Local Campaign Finance Laws." Her first book, "Corporate Citizen? An Argument for the Separation of Corporation and State," was published in 2016, and her second book, "Political Brands," was published in 2019.Torres-Spelliscy received her A.B. from Harvard University and her J.D. from the Columbia School of Law.
