An electrical engineer at heart, a former Top 40 disc jockey (ah, now you get the podcast angle), and an entrepreneurial sophophile, David Van Allen has been starting and running businesses and advising company leadership for over 30 years. He's worked in the technology, aviation, manufacturing, broadcast and software industries starting new companies, and adding value as executive leadership for others. Like most who dare to try, Dave had his fair share of successes because he surrounds himself with smart people enabled to succeed. As an example, Dave took one of his companies from a small start-up with just two people through a successful international IPO with over 200 employees in less than 8 years. But there have also been failures and disappointments along the way, and those are the ones he loves to talk about the most.
