Dr. Marick F. Masters is an expert in organized labor in the United States. Currently, he is a Professor of Business and Adjunct Professor of Political Science at Wayne State University, where he is also Director of Labor(at)Wayne. He is also an author, commentator, consultant, and podcaster.Masters's research and teaching interests are in conflict resolution, negotiations, labor-management cooperation, public-sector labor-management relations, union finances, and unions in politics.Previously, Masters was a Professor at the University of Pittsburgh's Katz Graduate School of Business. Before that, he was on the faculty at Texas A&M University.Masters has published more than 100 academic articles and four books on labor. His first book, "Unions at the Crossroads," was published in 1997.Masters received his B.S. from the University of Illinois, his M.P.A. from Southern Illinois University, and his Ph.D. in Labor and Industrial Relations from the University of Illinois.
