Professor Deep Gulasekaram taught constitutional and Immigration law at Santa Clara University School of Law. His research focused on the constitutional rights of noncitizens and federalism concerns in immigration law. He is co-author of Immigration & Citizenship: Process and Policy and author of The New Immigration Federalism. He has extensively explored the relationship between the Second Amendment and immigrants, as a way of understanding constitutional protections for noncitizens. He is a national expert on the interplay between state immigration laws and their frequent conflict with federal immigration enforcement powers.
