Steve Garagiola is a news anchor and reporter. He has won seven Emmy awards for news reporting and producing.Garagiola began his broadcasting career as a sportscaster, first at WILX-TV in Lansing, then at WXYZ-TV in Detroit, and then at WDIV-TV in Detroit. In 1996, he was covering the Atlanta Olympics, when a bomb blast pushed him into the world of hard news.Garagiola's newswriting textbook, "TV News: Writing and Surviving," was published in 2004.Garagiola received his degree from the University of Notre Dame.
