There are misconceptions about Vietnam,
0:33
People just think of water buffaloes, rice
0:35
paddies and lanterns if you live in the big
0:37
city, like Saigon, it's just like any other
0:39
big city. there's buildings, there's transport,
0:41
there's cars, there's bikes, there's food, there's
0:43
cocktails, there's beer. There's all the same
0:45
things as in any other city, but Saigon
0:48
is really special, you're listening to this and you're
0:50
thinking like this is absolutely pointless
0:52
Why am I telling you this the reason is this is
0:54
a massive difference that's changed
0:56
in Saigon. Hey,
1:13
thank you for listening to this episode
1:15
of a Vietnam podcast. I'm your host,
1:17
Niall Mackay. I've been living in Vietnam
1:19
now for eight years. I first came
1:21
here for a vacation and absolutely
1:24
fell in love with the place. Came back, decided
1:26
to stay for a year and that turned into eight
1:29
and it's probably going to be ten now. I
1:31
started this podcast in 2019
1:33
just as a hobby, and it's now my
1:35
full-time job to make podcasts for
1:37
other people. This podcast, a VM
1:40
podcast, it was on a break for a couple
1:42
of years, mostly because I was so
1:44
busy making podcasts for other people. I couldn't
1:46
put the same time and energy into it. but
1:49
if I'm honest, I'd lost the passion for it. I'd
1:51
lost the motivation. I was booking guests
1:53
at the last minute. I wasn't trying anything
1:55
new, and I felt like I was repeating myself
1:57
all the time. So it took
1:59
a long time to do because I
2:02
mostly kept doing it because of you, because
2:04
you were listening, you were watching,
2:06
and I didn't want to stop it. But
2:09
I had to do it in the end, and I'm glad I did help
2:11
me recharge my batteries. We now work with over
2:13
40 podcasts across the world to help
2:15
them make the best podcast possible. if
2:17
you ever want to help with your podcast, then please reach out
2:20
to me. But I decided this year,
2:22
as I could see that people were still listening
2:24
to the podcast, I decided, let's bring it back.
2:26
had a little bit more time on my hands. And
2:29
since I've started recording new episodes, I
2:31
really have got that passion and excitement back
2:33
to talk to people about Vietnam and about
2:35
Saigon. And it's been amazing to see
2:37
so many other podcasts over the years come
2:40
about all about Vietnam as well. And there's
2:42
obviously a massive interest out there about
2:44
that as well. So the passion
2:46
has come back so much, I've decided to do something
2:49
that I had never done before until recently,
2:51
and that's make episodes all by myself
2:54
with no guests whatsoever, just
2:56
me telling you about my
2:58
life in Saigon, I
3:00
realized that There are misconceptions
3:02
about Vietnam, especially if you don't
3:04
live here. People just think of water buffaloes,
3:07
rice paddies and lanterns and pho
3:10
And while some of that is true, if you live
3:12
in the big city like me, like Saigon, it's
3:14
just like any other big city. There's rivers,
3:16
there's buildings, there's transport, there's cars,
3:18
there's bikes, there's food, there's cocktails, there's
3:20
beer. There's all the same things
3:23
as in any other city, but Saigon is
3:25
really special, and there is a reason why
3:27
there are so many expats that have
3:29
been here for a long time that absolutely love it, like
3:31
me, that can't leave. I
3:34
decided to do some solo episodes to share
3:36
with you some of my favorite things to
3:38
do in Saigon because I realized
3:41
they do have some inside knowledge, some inside
3:43
tips. And so I wanted to share them with you, whether
3:45
you live here or not, and you maybe
3:47
didn't know about them or you needed a reminder,
3:49
or you completely disagree with what I'm saying,
3:51
or you're thinking of coming out to Vietnam.
3:53
You found this podcast, you wanted to learn more about
3:56
Vietnam and hopefully help you with
3:58
where you want to go. So I've already covered
4:00
with you recently my favorite craft beer bars
4:03
And my favorite places to go for happy
4:05
hour Some of those that were on the happier
4:07
list are going to be on this list as well I'm sorry
4:10
about that. But today I want to share with you
4:12
my favorite cocktail bars in
4:14
Saigon. Now, I know
4:16
that probably makes me sound no does
4:19
it I was going to say it makes me sound like a pretentious
4:21
wanker I feel like Cocktail
4:23
culture has really started worldwide
4:25
in the last few years. I know when I was growing up, like,
4:27
a cocktail was a vodka and coke. Um,
4:30
then if you were really fancy, you had a gin and tonic.
4:32
Like, that was as highbrow as cocktails
4:34
got. And then something happened in the last five
4:36
years where we've all gone cocktail
4:39
crazy. And it's pretty cool, like,
4:41
I feel like an adult. I'm like, I'm an adult. I can
4:43
drink a Negroni and I appreciate it and I
4:45
like it. But so I do
4:47
go out for cocktails quite often these days. Actually,
4:50
probably more than beer, I would say. It's
4:52
something really enjoyable to do, But it's
4:54
nice to go out and appreciate, as we
4:57
talked about before, the Whiskey Sour 86
4:59
proof or a good Negroni. So
5:01
I'm going to share with you in no particular order
5:04
where are my favorite places to go
5:06
for a cocktail in Saigon but
5:08
there are many, many more and I haven't been
5:10
to all of them. I'm pretty bad. I've got my favorites
5:12
and I'm probably going to keep going back to them again and
5:14
again and again. So it's not an extensive
5:17
list and there's probably loads that
5:19
I have not covered. So if you
5:21
have any ideas for me to go to, then
5:23
please let me know if they have a happy hour, even
5:26
better. And if you want me to talk
5:28
about them on a future podcast, let me know as well. Send
5:30
me a message. The link is in the show notes. So
5:32
let's get started. So
5:36
I have 11 locations to share
5:38
with you today and they are in no particular
5:40
order. If you want to go back and listen to
5:43
the episode I did about the best happy hours
5:45
in Saigon, then you'll hear me talk extensively
5:47
about 86 proof. It's
5:49
On Duong Thuy in Thao Dien, which
5:52
is the expat neighborhood, but it's that
5:55
term expat. Most people think
5:57
of a Western person in my opinion, but
5:59
it's actually probably more Korean expats
6:01
there. Lots of Japanese, lots of Indian expats. And
6:04
that area has really, really
6:06
changed since COVID. And it's more
6:08
and more of the Vietnamese population
6:10
have opened up businesses there. There's
6:13
more and more Vietnamese people coming in. And
6:15
why not? Because we're in Vietnam. So it
6:17
is traditionally was known as the French area
6:19
or like, yeah, little France, I think it was called
6:21
for a while. It's known as the expat
6:24
neighborhood, but it's really, really not.
6:26
And there's so much more to it than that, but
6:28
there are a lot of cool bars and
6:30
cool coffee spots, cool brunch places. And
6:33
one of my favorite cocktail places to go to is
6:35
86 Proof. So go check it out. I mentioned
6:37
it in the previous episode, really good happy hour,
6:39
but go at any time. Really cool vibe,
6:42
nice atmosphere and the cocktails are
6:44
amazing. Number
6:47
two, which I mentioned in the happy hour episode,
6:49
but go at any time because it's a really
6:51
cool atmosphere is Leila.
6:54
What is really cool about this place? This
6:56
is one of the reasons why I and I think lots
6:58
of people love Saigon is
7:00
the juxtaposition. I use that word a lot.
7:02
You see in the buildings, you'll see this brand
7:04
new building like the Texco Tower and
7:06
then right next to it you'll see a tin
7:09
hut. Now, again, I don't, I hate
7:11
to say that because maybe the person in the tin hut
7:13
might be impoverished, really poor.
7:15
You know what I'm saying, this, the juxtaposition in Saigon
7:18
is amazing. And the entrance to Layla sums
7:20
that up. So, you walk in, You
7:23
have to go up these like old stairs
7:25
that have probably been there from the 60s. If
7:27
you didn't know where you were going, you would think, where
7:29
the hell am I? If you didn't know that Saigon
7:32
was one of the safest places in the world, you might
7:34
be a bit sketched out. You may, you might think I'm about
7:36
to get my organs harvested, but Don't
7:38
worry, just follow the stairs up, you walk
7:40
along a long hallway, and then you're going
7:42
to open a door into a really modern,
7:45
really nice looking, uh, cocktail
7:47
bar. Go
8:39
in, get the Salty Caramel Espresso, get
8:41
a table by the window that overlooks the street,
8:43
do some people watching. Just go in
8:46
and enjoy yourself, have a really good time. They've got
8:48
an amazing cocktail menu, and the food's really
8:50
good as well, so go check out Layla. Ahem. And
8:54
number three, I think is owned
8:56
by the same person. Somebody
9:00
can tell me that, but it's Summer Experiment
9:02
and that's pretty new on the scene as well.
9:04
I've only been there a couple of times and I really
9:06
need my wife next to me right now because Adri
9:08
can remember way more about this place. I
9:10
can't, my memory is so bad, but I do know
9:13
it's a really cool place. So make sure you go check
9:15
out Summer Experiment. This is the worst podcast
9:17
ever that I'm telling you, recommending you to go to
9:19
cocktail bar that I can't even remember
9:22
much about it, but. I do remember
9:24
it was really cool, and I do remember it was from the same
9:26
people that did Layla, and if it's done by the
9:28
people that did Layla, it means that it's good. So
9:30
trust me, go check out Summer Experiment.
9:35
Now, number four on my list, I have good
9:37
memories of this place, I do remember it. It's called
9:40
Stirr. Now, I know, Scottish
9:42
accent, you might be like, what the hell did he just say?
9:44
S T I R, Stirr.
9:47
One of the things that I love about
9:49
this place is, it's, it's Like
9:51
a hidden cocktail bar. So just
9:54
as I was talking about the juxtaposition of walking
9:56
into Layla This
9:58
place is right behind Bintan
10:00
Market, so if you've been to Bintan Market, you'll
10:02
know the little hem, the little laneway
10:04
that I'm talking about that's filled with all
10:07
the nail salons. You can sit there
10:09
and just get your nails done, I guess. I've never had it done
10:11
there, but there's just this little hem that
10:13
just smells of nail polish. And
10:15
you have to walk through there, and then if you want some good
10:17
food, there's Bep Me In There, which we can talk about
10:20
that in another episode. But then, if
10:22
you go left Then left
10:24
up these little stairs that you're probably thinking,
10:26
why am I walking up here? I'm about to walk into somebody's
10:28
house. There's a doorway and that
10:30
is store. And then you walk in
10:33
and it's like wooden panelings, leather
10:35
seats, really small, low ceiling.
10:37
The bartenders are all wearing like waistcoats.
10:39
And if you walk, if you go all the way up to the window, you
10:42
can actually then look out and look over the
10:44
street, which is always fun to do in Saigon. And
10:46
they make amazing drinks as well. And
10:49
I should have put them on my list, but they have an amazing
10:51
happy hour as well. So it's just a really
10:53
cool place, really relaxed, really nice.
10:55
It's really nice for a date night. If you're taking your wife
10:57
out or your partner out for a date, then
11:00
go out and check out store before you head out
11:02
for dinner. Number
11:05
five on my list. I mentioned this guy
11:07
in the episode about craft beer
11:09
because he's behind Brick and Barrel and
11:11
I completely butchered his name and I'm still going to butcher
11:13
his name. So I'm just going to call him by his first name, but it's Tyler
11:16
and it's Lost and Found. They've just
11:18
been nominated for the Vietnam, uh,
11:21
Awards, sorry, they've just been nominated for the Saigon
11:23
Awards for Best Cocktail Bar. Uh,
11:25
I haven't seen the results of that yet, but
11:28
that is how good Lost and Found is.
11:30
And again, really, all of these places,
11:32
what makes them so cool, what makes Saigon so
11:34
cool is their location. They're
11:36
just, again, don't know the name of the street,
11:38
I need to learn street names, but it's just, just
11:40
near downtown D1, and you go
11:43
down, again, look in the notes, I will put the
11:45
address in the notes, you go down
11:47
this Kinda a hem kinda
11:49
street, nondescript,
11:51
bunch of old buildings, a couple of cafes,
11:53
and if you were walking down there even during
11:55
the day or at night, you're probably thinking, where the
11:57
hell am I? Like, I can't. There's no way that this
11:59
bar is here. You then have to go up some
12:02
old stairs, which again, it's just this really cool
12:04
vibe. Walk down a hallway. And
12:06
then you'll find the door for Lost and Found.
12:08
Really small bar, but really great staff
12:11
and they make unbelievable drinks. Tyler
12:13
is a cocktail master. He makes
12:15
cocktails for bars and people
12:17
all over the, all over the city. He gets hired
12:20
to go and make cocktails. He
12:22
really knows what he's doing. He's trained his team up well.
12:24
So it's really small, really cozy. The staff
12:26
are amazing. You can also go as a group because
12:28
they have stairs that take you up to like a mezzanine
12:30
floor. That was the last time I was there. We were with
12:33
a big group. And it's just
12:35
that really cool Saigon feel that you
12:37
think that with the stairs up to the
12:39
mezzanine floor You're kind of like I think in
12:41
most other countries this probably wouldn't pass health
12:44
and safety and it's probably not allowed But meh, it's
12:46
fun and it's cool and it is a really good atmosphere
12:49
So make sure you check out Lost and Found and ask
12:51
for Tyler. He'll be the guy covered
12:53
in tattoos if he's there Number
12:57
six on my list, again mentioned it in
12:59
the happy hour episode, it's owned by
13:01
the same people behind 86proof, it's a
13:03
few doors down, it's called Mami, that's
13:05
Anzuan Tui in Taodian,
13:08
they have a really good happy hour that goes till 8pm.
13:10
But what is really cool about it, as I mentioned
13:12
in the last episode, is before
13:15
it opened it was an old Hot
13:17
dog place called Valhalla and
13:19
there's a tailor underneath and I'm pretty
13:21
sure above it. It was just Storeroom
13:24
for the tailor or somebody's storeroom anyway I remember
13:26
seeing boxes in the window and then all of
13:28
a sudden there was a cocktail bar there
13:30
and just Really cool. The bottom
13:33
bit is open to the street. So it's again really
13:35
cool. One of the favorite, one of my favorite things, one of my
13:37
wife and I's favorite things to do in Saigon is
13:39
just people watch, hang out.
14:10
we decided to come to Mami Cocktails, that
14:12
I've just probably talked about on the video. You're now
14:14
seeing this bit that I've added in.
14:16
I got the Oi Oi, which I'm gonna not
14:18
pick it up right now, because I'll end up dropping it.
14:21
It's got Lady Trieu Gin in it,
14:23
citrus, cardamom,
14:26
And some Lillet blanc in there as well.
14:28
Adrie who's manning the camera. She
14:30
got something with jalapenos in it 'cause she's a spicy
14:33
Mexican and loves spicy drinks. So
14:35
it's got Jose Cuervo, Cucumber.
14:38
You love cucumber. And jalapeno we're
14:41
in this cool spot. Xuan Thuy. We
14:43
get to watch all the crazy traffic go by and get
14:46
to people watch, as I've probably talked about. And
14:48
Biscuit gets to relax as well, because she loves it. So,
14:51
cheers. Thanks, Mami,
14:57
Number seven on the list is is I think
15:00
the newest addition to the cocktail
15:02
bars in Saigon, but the things
15:04
change so quickly here in so many places open
15:06
up. It's probably not by the time that this episode
15:09
goes out, but it's called Junka. I've
15:11
only been there once. And again,
17:01
it's got a dance floor. It's like a nighttime place.
17:04
We were having a bit of a boogie. It seems
17:06
to be more of a night time place, when we were there anyway,
17:08
we were there a bit later at night, had a dance floor,
17:10
there was a big party in, there was a really good atmosphere,
17:13
everyone was having a good time, the entrance
17:15
is on the ground floor, Floor, you probably wouldn't even know
17:17
it was there if you were walking by. It's on the first floor.
17:20
Go in the entrance, upper a flight of stairs, and
17:22
it opens up into this really big cocktail bar,
17:24
massive wraparound bar. I only had
17:26
one drink there, but um, as I said, it's just brand
17:28
new. It's really nice. Make sure you go check
17:31
it out. Number
17:33
eight on my list was mentioned again in
17:35
the happy hour episode. It's called The Company,
17:38
which is on Fvi Chan in
17:40
Bintan. Which is one of the, I think
17:42
it was voted one of the coolest suburbs in the
17:44
world, if I remember correctly. I really should
17:46
do some resets before these podcasts, shouldn't I?
17:48
But it takes too much time. Go check
17:50
out the company just on Fan Viet
17:53
Chan, which is like little Japan town as well.
17:55
There's loads of good food there that you can check out
17:57
too, but they have a really good happy hour till nine
17:59
o'clock. It's a small bar downstairs.
18:01
There's I think just six seats and then there's
18:04
more seating upstairs, which I haven't been to yet.
18:06
but it's, it's that small little cozy
18:08
atmosphere, low roof that just makes it
18:10
like a really nice cool place to hang out. It's got a nice
18:12
vibe and the cocktails are amazing as well.
18:15
So check out the company on Fan Viet Chan.
18:19
No, number nine, 10 and 11.
18:22
You could easily do a pub crawl with
18:24
these three, or a cocktail crawl. They're
18:26
all on MacD Boy, right next to Malt,
18:28
which I talked about in previous episodes. And
18:31
they're all very different, but all really good.
18:33
So number nine is Firkin,
18:35
number 10 is Lady Chew, and
18:37
number 11 is Racha Room. So,
18:40
number nine. Lady Chu.
18:42
It's a type of gin that's made here in
18:44
Vietnam, and it's become really popular,
18:46
really big in a short amount of time. And
18:49
so they sell a whole bunch of different drinks
18:51
using the different Lady Chu, and
18:53
I'm saying that again completely wrong. I'm
18:55
so sorry, but they make loads of different drinks
18:57
using the Lady Chu gin. There's
19:00
different flavours of the gin as well, and
19:02
so there's just so many different things
19:04
that they can do more than just a gin and tonic.
19:06
And there is a happy hour there as well. I
19:09
didn't include them in my happy hour episode.
19:11
I can't remember what it is, but it is probably
19:13
4 7 I'm going to guess. I'll put it in the notes
19:15
so you can get that. So go have a gin and
19:17
tonic or a gin drink at Lady Chew.
19:20
And then go to Firkin, which
19:22
is, as a Scotsman, one
19:24
of my favourites. So they have
19:26
a massive, massive whiskey list
19:29
on there. Um, they have cheap ones
19:31
that people like me can afford. They have expensive ones
19:33
that people like you can maybe afford.
19:35
But they've got a massive, massive list on there.
19:38
Really long bar. This is
19:40
everything I'm telling you. I know all of these sound
19:42
similar. I know I'm terrible with adjectives and
19:44
describing these bars. But, What
19:47
the point I'm trying to make is what I mentioned in the beginning
19:49
is people have an opinion of Saigon
19:51
and of Vietnam and they think of water buffaloes
19:53
and rice paddies. I've done previous
19:56
interviews where people have talked about
19:58
their families back home think that
20:00
they live in like a thatch hut. The
20:03
opinion of Vietnam is so different. An
20:06
opinion of Saigon is so different to the reality
20:08
here. In the eight years I've been here, I've seen it
20:10
change dramatically. I know people who've been here
20:12
for 10, 12 years. 10 or 12 years
20:14
ago, uh, If you could get a Heineken,
20:17
you were over the moon because it was the
20:19
only type of beer that you could get. The
20:21
couple of Western places that maybe sold pizzas
20:24
and burgers were like pretty bad because they couldn't
20:26
get the ingredients. you just had to eat Vietnamese
20:28
food all the time, which that's fine. Vietnamese
20:30
food is amazing, but people like myself,
20:33
we're not from Vietnam. It's difficult to eat that
20:35
for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You
20:38
might want a bit of variety, right? So 10 years ago,
20:40
12 years ago, eight years ago.
20:42
There weren't many options. And
20:44
when it comes to cocktail bars, again,
20:47
it would have been like when I was a kid. If you got a vodka
20:49
and coke or a gin and tonic, that would probably
20:52
be, probably be almost the height
20:54
of getting a cocktail. I know there was hotels
20:56
like The Rex, which have been there forever. I
20:59
think if you wanted to get a cocktail, which
21:01
would be like a bloody tequila sunrise
21:03
or something like that, you'd have to go to a hotel.
21:05
You're going to pay over the odds. It's not
21:08
made with any, you know, skill.
21:11
That's what I'm trying to make the point with this episode
21:13
is I've only listed off like 11 cocktail
21:15
bars And there's probably about another hundred
21:17
that I don't know about and we're
21:20
if you're listening to this from back home Wherever
21:22
home is if you're listening to this from the West and
21:25
you're thinking like this is absolutely pointless
21:27
Why am I telling you this the reason is
21:29
this is a massive difference that's changed
21:31
in Saigon And it's not all pho
21:34
and it's not all iced coffee, which are amazing
21:37
There are so many more things to do here. So
21:39
if you are visiting again,
21:42
you are going to want to do all those traditional
21:44
things. But if it comes to the evening and you start to think,
21:46
Hmm, I want to go out for a nice cocktail.
21:49
Go out and check out these places. Like I mentioned, Lady
21:51
Chiu is a gin that's made here
21:53
in Vietnam. So if you do want to still make
21:55
sure that you're doing something Vietnamese, go check
21:57
out one of those places. A lot of these people
21:59
are owned by Vietnamese people or Vietcube
22:02
people, so you are still supporting the local
22:04
economy. The staff are
22:06
definitely Vietnamese. And as I mentioned, they're really
22:09
skilled at what they do. Um,
22:11
it's amazing to see what they can do.
22:13
So go check out these places, go support them.
22:15
I feel like as a tourist, if you come to Saigon,
22:17
there really isn't that much, there's
22:20
not a lot of obvious things to do
22:22
in the evening. But yeah, I'll see But the reason I want to
22:24
share this with you is if you do want to go and check out one
22:27
of those places, then that's what I would
22:29
recommend. And a lot of these places are in and around
22:31
D1. District 2, we did
22:33
an episode with Vince when we talked
22:35
about how, how District
22:37
2 is becoming more of a tourist destination.
22:40
It's, as I said, known as an expat area,
22:43
but I think more and more tourists are venturing
22:45
out there. It's only like 20, 30 minutes outside
22:47
the city. And then also, as I mentioned,
22:49
the company. on Fan Viet Chan
22:51
in the Binh Tan region, that's like
22:54
Binh Tan district. It's
22:56
a really cool spot. It's one of, I definitely
22:58
think it got voted one of the coolest neighborhoods
23:00
in, in the whole world. Um,
23:03
and the Fan Viet Chan street, there's so many
23:05
good things to do there. There's a rabbit hole Irish sports
23:07
bar. There's Muteki, which is really
23:09
good for Japanese food. You've got Lubu.
23:12
Um, and then obviously,
23:14
as I mentioned the company as well, but there's so much more
23:16
to it. So make sure you check out. uh,
23:18
Fan Viet Chan area if you are a tourist. If
23:21
you have any suggestions for
23:23
something that I've not covered, if you want me to do a whole other
23:25
episode on the other 100 places, then
23:27
please send me a message. If you're a bar
23:30
owner and you want to treat me to
23:32
a whole selection of free drinks, I will, I
23:34
will do that. Like I know it's gonna, it sounds really difficult.
23:36
It's not something I would normally agree to, but for the
23:38
podcast, I will agree to come out and
23:41
try all of your cocktails and then do an episode
23:43
about it. Like my, my morals are that low.
23:46
I will do an episode for cocktails. Don't
23:48
worry about it. But if you do have any feedback
23:50
if you disagree with anything I said, You just want
23:52
to tell me what a horrible job I did because I realized
23:54
on this podcast As I mentioned,
23:57
I don't normally do solo podcasts, but I realized
23:59
that I might have talked a lot of shit a
24:01
lot of nonsense I'm, sorry about that But if
24:03
you did enjoy it, let me know and most of all the
24:05
most important thing is if you did enjoy
24:07
this episode Or you just wanted to share
24:10
it with somebody Please share it with
24:12
somebody else. It really helps the podcast,
24:14
helps me grow, helps more people hear about
24:16
it. And if you want to get future notifications
24:19
for more episodes, make sure you do that thing where you turn
24:21
on the notifications, follow, subscribe from
24:23
wherever you are listening or watching from,
24:25
and then you can get future episodes. And
24:28
I've honestly lost count of how many episodes
24:30
we've made now. It's well, well over a
24:33
hundred, maybe 150. So there's a massive
24:35
backlog. catalog that you can go back through.
24:37
This podcast is all about sharing stories
24:40
of Vietnam. So you can go back through
24:42
and listen to ex pats who live here, you
24:44
can listen to Vietnamese people who live here and
24:46
overseas, and VHQ who
24:48
are people who were born overseas but came
24:50
back to Vietnam or are children of Vietnamese
24:52
people. And we have many, many episodes
24:55
where I interviewed children of Vietnamese
24:57
boat people who fled Vietnam after the war
24:59
or who were actually on a boat after
25:02
the war, leaving Vietnam. I'm. So some
25:04
of those stories are quite dark. I wouldn't say dark,
25:06
but yeah, pretty dark actually, and
25:08
very deep, but really, really interesting as well.
25:10
So, and if there's anybody that you would like
25:12
me to interview, then please get in touch
25:14
as well, because, uh, one of
25:16
the most difficult things is deciding, deciding
25:18
who to interview and to find people as well.
25:20
So if there's anyone that you think would be a good guest, then
25:23
please let me know. So I hope you enjoyed
25:25
this episode. I hope you can listen to some in the past,
25:27
some in the future, and I hope you have a great day.
25:30
Cheers.
