The Accessibility Matters Podcast is part of the tipsforfaculty.com blog and website. The focus of the Accessibility Matters Podcast is to make learning more accessible for students. Clearly there are some legal requirements like Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 as codified in the US Code and modified by the Workforce Investment Act of 1998. There are also standards developed for the web like the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, which is now in version 2.0.
However, there are considerations beyond the bare legal requirements. We will address those issues as well. Also, we will look at how to use readily available resources to help you meet the legal standards and other considerations related to accessibility, including websites, accessibility checkers, and tutorials on creating accessible documents, videos, and websites.
