"Minulle kävi, kuin useimmille retkeilijöille, jotka oikein ottavat tutustuakseen Afrikkaan, jouduin sen lumoihin." - Postuumisti vuonna 1931 ilmestynyt Afrikka-kirja kertoo taiteilijan näkemyksistä ja kokemuksista vuosilta 1909-1911.
