Amal El-Mohtar Amal El-Mohtar is a writer of fiction, poetry, and criticism. She also regularly contributes reviews to NPR Books, and has been the New York Times's science fiction and fantasy columnist since 2018.El-Mohtar's stories and poems have appeared in Tor.com, Lightspeed, Uncanny, Strange Horizons, Apex, Stone Telling, and Mythic Delirium, and in the anthologies "The Djinn Falls in Love & Other Stories," "The Starlit Wood: New Fairy Tales," "Kaleidoscope: Diverse YA Science Fiction and Fantasy Stories," and "The Thackery T. Lambshead Cabinet of Curiosities." Her first book, the collection "The Honey Month," was published in 2010.
