The public health data pool is growing larger, especially as patient-consumers share their information through devices and personal programs. While providers can find valuable knowledge in this, they're also challenged to preserve patient privacy and comply with HIPAA and other regulations. Joel Gurin, founder of CODE, an organization that maximizes the value of data as a public resource, discusses optimizing health data while keeping it private and secure.
