In this latest podcast, ASCI Lounge host, Monique Fenech, talks to Tracy Poulton from FourPL and Kylie Jones from Diegeo - a Superstars of Stem recipient who shares her newly acquired skills taught through the scholarship program run by the peak body for Science and Technology Australia.
Superstars of Stem is a program that is aimed to increase the public visibility of women in STEM, so that there is equal representation in the media of male and females across all STEM fields. Kylie is keen to share her experiences in science and is passionate about supporting young women and girls who are interested in a career in STEM. Hear her story in this podcast and she'll make you want to join as well.
ASCI and FourPL are currently working with Year13 to develop a clear career pathway for young people into supply chain management. Over 1.5 million school leavers visit Year13 each year. To decide on their future which makes the Year 13 a major influencer on the next generation of supply chain professionals interested in a career in STEM. We're hoping that some ASCI Members might join the Superstars of STEM program and assist us to spread the word about supply chain management as a viable career for young women.
Eligibility is outlined on the website and applications for the 2021 program are open on 6 July and close on 17 August 2020. Currently, there are only 12% of program participants are from private industry but the organisers says they would like this percentage to grow.
