Betty Cuthbert was a Sydney girl, who went on to become one of Australia’s Greatest Athletes. She was the first Australian Olympian to win 3 gold medals at the one games, taking the gold in 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay in 1956. In 1969 she learned she had developed multiple sclerosis and became an important advocate for the disease and campaigner for national awareness.
