We’re back with another episode of Backscatter! On this week's episode, Josh and Amir discussed their beliefs in God and why they believe in those particular conceptions of God. They also explored different beliefs in God and why someone may adopt that particular conception. The two of them also discussed religion in a broad sense, the positives, as well as many of the issues they find with organized religion. For example, people who are particularly religious claim to “know” what God is when that is not something anyone could literally know. There is a reason why religion is called beliefs and not knowledge. They also discussed the problem of evil: If God is all good, all knowing, and all powerful, how does evil exist. They discussed some of the solutions they’ve heard of as well as exploring some of their own solutions. Ultimately though, there does not seem to be an adequate solution, this idea is explored further in the episode. Towards the end they also touched on the concept of miracles and why it seems unlikely that they are real. Stay tuned for more episodes every Thursday at 12 PM PST!
