In 2070, St. Louis is no longer the gateway to the west, but is a contentious border town between two nations, the United Canadian and American States, also known as UCAS, and the Confederation of American States, or CAS. Diplomats from the two nations frequently meet in St. Louis to discuss international politics. Shipping along the Mississippi river is a huge part of the economy. There’s still a large amount of industry in St. Louis, from cyberdeck manufacture and matrix infrastructure work to Thaumaturgy research and development at St. Louis University as well as the megacorporations. The Italian mafia is the dominant criminal syndicate in St. Louis.And anywhere in the sixth world you find high value targets, shipping, industry, or research you’ll find Shadowrunners.
