Excuse my ignorance, but I haven’t heard of Vanuatu ?? before: I had to google the name to which I found out that it is a country in Oceania that is composed of almost 80 islands. I assume that tribal hierarchy plays a role in which men are promoted and groomed to be charge . Women are literally not considered leaders due to sexism. This, I don’t find it striking that the parliament lacks female members, but what is striking the fact that no females were elected since Vanuatu’s independence and that is quite implausible when as the report states, almost 60% of incarcerated men were jailed due to sex related crimes. Why are the women tolerating this is beyond me? They can vote and should exercise their right to seek change.
