On this episode, we talk about how music inspired a couple of kids to want to break out of their hometowns in Thatcher-era Britain. First, we talk about the new movie Blinded by the Light co-written and directed by Gurinder Chadha about the true story of a kid from a strict Pakistani family wanting to be a writer, inspired by the words and music of Bruce Springsteen in 1987 England. Then we get into a movie from a couple years ago called Sing Street about a kid inspired by the music of the time as well as his brother, played by a fantastic Jack Reynor, to follow his dreams and break out of his town in 1985 Dublin.
