26 people have been gunned down now in the month of December in Chicago, bringing the 2017 total to 611. The latest deaths were reported in the Humboldt Park, West Town, Garfield Ridge, and O’Hare neighborhoods.

Closing arguments are set for today in the detention hearing for a Wisconsin man found unfit to stand trial in the shooting of an Amtrak conductor. The hearings started Monday with conductor Michael case testifying. Authorities say 79-year-old Edward Klein opened fire on him in Wheaton in May.
