My very good friend Alán Pelaez and I talk about Latinidad and the need to #cancel it, anti-Blackness, the nuances in nationalism and liberatory movements across Latin America, the devaluation of art in and outside of social justice spaces, Indigeneity and reconnection, as well as queerness and the undocumented rights movement. Alán Pelaez is a Black Zapotec poet, writer, activist, scholar, artistan, and artist whose work centers QTPOC particularly those who are Black, Indigenous, and undocumented.
