Born in Canada, raised in Zimbabwe and Botswana, Nandie recalls her days as a kindergartener in the salon getting her hair permed. It wasn’t until she was in grade 5 when her mom shaved her head that Nandie made the decision to do the same. Nandie speaks very highly of rice water as she names it as being the number one treatment that grew her hair back quickly. This natural journey has allowed Nandie to cut her hair several times and experiment with hair dyes. Nandie shared a shocking story of a job recruiter who told her she needed “tamed” hair to work at his Golf Clubhouse. Before our conversation ended Nandie gave important advice about hair manipulation, heat damage and length retention.
