Heat Advisory in effect this afternoon for the Rio Grande Plains, the Brush Country, and portions of the southern Coastal Plains. High risk of rip currents along Gulf-facing beaches today. Days two through seven. Monday through Saturday. Maximum Heat Index values between 105F to 109F expected Monday afternoon, with a few locations briefly reaching 110F possible. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms Sunday. Scattered thunderstorms Monday and Tuesday. A few thunderstorms Monday night may become strong, mainly due to winds. Isolated thunderstorms Friday and Saturday. Spotter information statement. Spotter activation is not anticipated.
