The Story

It’s a futuristic city with futuristic problems where a private detective solves cases for wealthy families. The cases are straightforward, solve what is being paid for, and move on. But even with all the tech advances, there will always be obstacles that can be difficult to master, the moral options of which choices to make. Not just for the client, but also for himself as a detective.

The Concept

When Covid-19 erupted Arnie, like many others around the world, had to divert his work schedules and routines to adapt to this unthinkable real-world catastrophe. Being an entrepreneur for many years now, he wasted no time to spend a weekend and frame his new short-term work and project strategies to survive this new daunting reality. This in return led to him being offered a full-time contract at a private company, which for many became the biggest concern as people lost their jobs due to the pandemic.

Thus being secured financially, he slowly started to build a framework to help others who were not so lucky. He immediately created his first podcast The Arnie Episodes, to assist those who were now forced to work at home. The episode was well received but Arnie wasted no time to continue his momentum. Since December 2019, he was testing a new entrepreneurial venture called Just Start Mastermind, as a business consultant where he would use his background in prototyping and design thinking to assist executives and small business owners with their project needs. The start of the pandemic showed that there were definitely more people in need of this service.

By November 2020 while catching up with a musician friend, he noticed that this was yet another industry that was hard-hit with live events being completely shut down. Being a part-time musician himself, Arnie tried hard to conceptualize an alternative income idea for musicians. The result, the sci-fi audio drama Cyber Detective was born. The goal was simple, prototyping a new business model that fits a band or musician during the pandemic. Combining a band with a podcast, they could now create their own audio stories from their lyrics and reproduce their popular songs to fit those stories. Through this, they could recycle their old content, while selling merchandise and even reach new fans.
