Never give up, fighting till the end,
0:04
gotta get back up. No
0:07
time for loss, fighting till the end no
0:09
matter what the cost. Keep
0:11
moving, gotta get back up. One, keep
0:13
moving, gotta get back up. Keep moving,
0:15
gotta get back up. One, keep moving,
0:17
gotta get back up. How are ya?
0:20
Come on in. By the way, if you heard
0:22
me speak last week about my 60-minute coaching sessions
0:25
that are going away at the end of the
0:27
month, they have to purchase them and they
0:29
have to be completed by the end of June. You
0:32
got a few more slots available, just go to motivationtomove.com, check
0:34
it out if you would like to talk to me. It's
0:36
an introductory kind of deal that will go away by
0:39
the end of the month, just want to let you know
0:41
about that, okay? So today, feeling funky?
0:44
Because you know my philosophy on, let's see, some people listen
0:46
to the show and they're in a funk. I
0:48
mean, life gets that. Life puts you in
0:50
a funk a lot. But I
0:52
think when you're in a funk, what you should do is
0:54
put some cheesy disco music on from the 70s and
0:57
make it funky. That's it, play that funky
0:59
music. Yeah, baby. That's how we
1:01
should do it. Today we're
1:04
talking life with no limitations and
1:06
no consequences. A topic that I like
1:08
a lot, because I think people run into this all the time,
1:10
if you have felt limitations or felt like there are consequences to
1:12
the things you want to do in life, today's going to be
1:14
the show for you. That is the promise, good
1:16
to have you. It is the Daily
1:18
Boost from motivationtomove.com, doing this thing for, in
1:21
our 18th season right now, so thanks for
1:23
stopping by the most unorthodox personal development, personal
1:25
growth show on the planet because we fill the gap
1:27
between the people who are saying, let's go. And people
1:29
going, Kumbaya. And we're in the middle of someplace basically
1:32
saying, okay, I get all the stuff you've tried and
1:34
all the stuff you've done, but day to day is
1:36
it working for you? That's where we live.
1:39
If it's not working for you, why do it? Right?
1:41
And it's hard because we got relationships and we have
1:43
bosses and wives and husbands and kids and all
1:45
that stuff. And I will tell
1:47
you in, man, is it 80% of
1:49
the conversations I have? It
1:52
is not the stuff that you can or cannot do. Not the
1:54
stuff you will or will not do is not the stuff you
1:56
want to do or not want to do. It's
1:58
not that stuff. you in your orbit,
2:01
the people, the things, the stuff, that's the stuff that
2:03
gets in the way. So
2:05
until you can realize that you got to manage that, you're not
2:07
going to get anywhere. Okay, let me get on with the show.
2:09
Okay. You just got me going there. This
2:11
way it is. It's what I do. I take off running fast. My
2:14
name is Scott Smith. Good to have you here
2:16
today. By the way, quick story before I start.
2:19
I feel so, um, I
2:23
feel so bad. I feel, um, I
2:26
had a breakup yesterday and
2:29
if we were really bad about it, I feel I
2:32
am broken up with a little, it's been a long
2:34
time. I went
2:36
to physical therapy because you know, I had a hip replaced
2:38
about, uh, six weeks ago. I
2:40
just wore it out doing fun stuff. That's all. Decided
2:43
to get it done while I was
2:45
younger and healthier. And I've been going to
2:47
physical therapy and they've been taking such good care of me. All
2:49
these medical professionals have been so kind and so nice and it's nice to
2:51
be taken care of, isn't it? So
2:54
I've been enjoying that. Get
2:56
out of my truck, walked
2:58
across the parking lot, walked in the door and there's Keith standing
3:01
at the window, my physical therapist for the day. He
3:04
says, Scott, let me ask you a question. Do
3:08
you really need us? Do you really need to be here?
3:11
So, uh, I don't know. So
3:14
I just saw you walk out of a truck. You just jumped
3:16
out of your truck. You came walking across the parking lot like
3:18
nothing. Do you really
3:21
need us? Cause we don't think you do. We've talked
3:23
and we just think it's time to let
3:25
you move on. So, well,
3:27
I don't know. Do you think I
3:29
don't need you? I don't think I said it like
3:31
that, but I said it pretty close to that. Yeah. We
3:33
think you're good. So get out of
3:35
here and go to the gym. Okay.
3:38
So you're never here. You're not going to pay a dime for
3:40
this. I feel it's kind of weird, right?
3:42
But you know, we get in that comfort zone, that comfort zone
3:44
where you're being taken care of and you know, whenever you hurt
3:46
yourself or you get a surgery and stuff like that, it's a
3:49
big deal to kind of adapt to it. I got a thing
3:51
in me. I look like if you look at the x-rays, go
3:53
online, look at x-rays of having a hip replaced. It looks like
3:55
the Terminator. It really does. So you
3:58
got to work through all that stuff. I want to tell you that story anyway. Let's
4:01
talk about life limitations today and life consequences
4:03
today. So I've been really
4:05
defying life limitations and
4:07
life consequences ever since I was a kid. As my mom,
4:10
she will tell you, she's
4:12
an isolated and she doesn't tell bad
4:14
stories about me, but she will tell you I have
4:16
challenged just about everything in my life. I never
4:18
saw a limitation that was in my way. Once
4:20
I finally recognized that I got over it and
4:22
I never really cared too much about consequences because
4:25
I recognize something. Ultimately,
4:28
while there are real limitations, most of them are just in
4:30
my head and consequences are not always bad. We'll talk about
4:33
this in a second here. But
4:35
what if everything you did today came
4:38
with no limitations and
4:41
no consequences? What would
4:43
your life be like? Think about it for a second. You're
4:45
at the office today. You have no
4:48
limitations. You have no restrictions. You can do anything you want to do.
4:51
You want to make some more money today? There's no limit on that. What
4:55
did that happen? Don't get me
4:57
wrong. Limitations can be very helpful. You're
5:00
staying within a speed limit. From
5:04
you know, it's good because you don't get tickets, right? But
5:07
imagine you went down to the bank today. You said,
5:09
listen, there's no limitations in my life. I've got $102.33
5:12
in my checking account and that's all I've got in the
5:14
whole world. But I'm going to go down today and I'm
5:16
going to withdraw a billion dollars. That's
5:18
how you try to know in the bank. Everybody's looking at you like,
5:20
what are you crazy? When you get down there, there's no limitations and
5:22
guess what? They give you a billion dollars. So
5:25
much they had to close the bank because there was no more money for the day. What
5:28
if that could happen? What a strange kind
5:30
of way that can happen. I know it's kind of silly, right?
5:33
But what if it could? How would you react if you
5:35
could? There's no reason
5:37
you can't react that way anyway, right? So there,
5:40
you know, the limitations are useful. Like I said,
5:42
it keeps you from getting speed and tickets and
5:44
stuff. For instance, a good limitation also
5:46
leads to consequences because say
5:48
you went down to the bank and you withdrew a billion dollars and
5:50
it's cool. Now you're going really fast. You should have just bought a
5:52
Ferrari and you know, you're racing down the road and you do it
5:55
about 97 mile an hour and you go to a restaurant and have
5:57
some fun. You're going to celebrate your billion dollar, no limitation life you
5:59
now have. So you get on down
6:01
there and you get pulled over
6:03
by a kind police officer behind you on a motorcycle, very
6:05
likely like the road king I ride, but he rides better
6:07
than I do because he's how I trained individual. He
6:10
pulls you over. He says, do you know what you were doing? You
6:12
know how fast you were going? So I have no idea. All I
6:14
know is I got a billion dollars in my pocket and I'm going
6:16
to go spit it. Have
6:18
a nice day, sir. And he lets you go. Sometimes
6:21
there are consequences for your actions and they're good, right?
6:25
Again, silly, silly stories, silly metaphors.
6:27
That's what I do for a
6:29
living. I don't want to pick
6:31
stuff up and it's good. But what if you
6:34
took the limitations off yourself? Whatever something you wanted to do,
6:38
see, limiting yourself to a bad job, a job
6:40
that doesn't serve you is not really good, is it?
6:44
But I need the money. It's so
6:46
hard to go find a new one. What if I don't get
6:48
something better? What if there's nothing out there?
6:51
You're limiting yourself to something. It doesn't serve you. What
6:54
if you have a bad relationship? I'm not saying get divorced or anything. There's a
6:56
lot you can do. But
6:58
it doesn't serve you to have a bad relationship, to limit
7:00
yourself to what you could actually have. It
7:02
doesn't serve you. And again, I want to be very clear
7:04
about something. Sometimes there are limitations,
7:06
but also sometimes there's artificial limitations in front
7:08
of you. And
7:10
sometimes you can make it better with the conversation. Limiting
7:15
yourself to something that doesn't serve you, that's bad,
7:17
bad, bad. Fear
7:20
of change usually creates limitations, by the way.
7:23
Fear. Make personal development
7:25
nerds, recite it what it means.
7:28
Fear false evidence of hearing real. You
7:32
know what that is, right? That's some guy like me made it up one day
7:35
and put it out there for you to spend money on it. That's
7:38
what happened. Like smart goals, same thing made up by a guy like me. It's
7:40
okay, acronyms are cool. If you're
7:42
an air, if you're a pilot, you know acronyms are all you have, right?
7:45
Fear false evidence of hearing real. Come on real
7:47
close. Scott Logic is coming to you real fast.
7:49
Get ready for this. You might not want to
7:51
hear it, but sometimes I got to tell you, sometimes fear is freaking real. It
7:55
isn't fear real, it is real. It's scary, right? Sometimes
7:57
it is. True or
7:59
true. It's a motivational thing. True or true?
8:02
Automagically, it happened. See, I'm
8:05
going deep today. Fear of
8:07
change usually creates limitations and fear
8:09
can sometimes be really real. Or
8:12
is it fear of bad consequences? Though
8:17
let's accept fear is gonna be real. We
8:19
just have to decide if it's real or not, that's all. And is it
8:22
gonna lead to a bad consequence? I have to tell you, if you think
8:24
you're gonna get a bad consequence, you're gonna be scared to death. You're
8:27
not gonna move. It's gonna keep you right where you are.
8:29
We'll talk about that a little bit later this week. If you're
8:31
afraid something is not gonna work out the way you want it to
8:33
work, there is a consequence that you think is bad, you're gonna be
8:35
afraid of it, you're not gonna move. You
8:38
might have read it, living in fear. And
8:40
living in fear is a scary place to be. But
8:43
what if all the consequences were good? Huh?
8:48
What if everything you did today, that actually
8:50
turned out really well? You didn't
8:52
even think twice about the fact that it wouldn't be good.
8:55
You could make any change you wanted in your life and get a consequence
8:58
from it and it was just positive and good. Let's
9:01
go a little further. What if it wasn't? But
9:03
what if it didn't matter to you? What if you said, I don't care
9:05
what happens, I'm gonna still see it as good and find my way. I'm
9:07
optimistic. Optimistic's being
9:10
good. Optimistic
9:13
make you live longer, make you happier. Sometimes,
9:17
remember when I was first dating, I was scared to death,
9:19
I asked my wife for a date. Scared
9:23
to death. Fear, hold
9:25
me back. Now, if you get to know Scott, that's
9:28
me. You know that Scott can hold
9:30
me back very long. It's just not because I'm
9:32
gonna see the reward on the other side, I'm sorry, I'm through
9:34
it, let's go. I'm gonna get through the fear. A consequence to
9:36
me could be good. So,
9:39
am I afraid of hearing the word no? Hmm,
9:42
not really. I'm probably afraid of not
9:44
getting what I want. Mostly.
9:48
Limitations are real, consequences are real. Limitations are
9:50
also good and bad and consequences can be
9:53
good and bad. It depends on
9:55
how you see it. So if you realize that and you think
9:57
like I do, live in a world
9:59
of absolute reality. and thinking miracles can happen as
10:01
well. It's pretty easy to
10:03
accept that life is real and stuff is
10:06
real like limitations and consequences. Also, it's pretty
10:08
easy to say life can be limitation
10:10
free and consequences can always be good. You can
10:13
live in both those worlds. I
10:15
think when you live in one or the other is when you get in
10:17
trouble. You're
10:21
a human. You
10:24
are born with a mind that has the capability to
10:26
see it both ways. And
10:28
you do yourself an incredible disservice when
10:30
you decide to stay in one way of
10:33
thinking. What
10:35
if today there were no limitations
10:37
on who you could be, what you could say, where
10:39
you could go, what could happen in your life? What
10:41
if there were no limitations and what are the consequences
10:43
for every single thing you did today? It's
10:46
exactly what you wanted. And
10:49
I'm assuming that's good because some of
10:51
y'all, you're grumpy people and you're just
10:53
gonna want bad stuff to happen to you. I've met
10:55
you before. Hell, I've been you before from time to
10:57
time. It just happens, right? It's called being human. Eventually
11:00
we'll all get over that. We'll go away. We'll come
11:02
back to something else. I want to be a cat
11:04
next time because cats, I'm gonna come back as a
11:06
cat because well, you know why I gave a cat.
11:08
You know why I want to be a cat. All
11:10
right, see you tomorrow. Keep moving, gotta
11:13
get back up, boy. Keep moving,
11:15
gotta get back up.
