never give up. Fightin to the end.

0:11

Gotta get back up. No time

0:14

for loss. Fightin to the end.

0:16

No matter what the cost. Yeah.

0:19

Keep moving. Gotta get back up. Keep

0:21

moving. Gotta get back up. Keep moving.

0:24

Gotta get back up. How are you?

0:27

Come on in. Keep moving. I'm

0:29

doing a little bit about how you

0:32

can start over again if that's something you feel like

0:34

you need to do. And of course this summer, I'm doing

0:36

what I do every single summer, at least for the past

0:38

nine or ten years, I think it's been

0:40

a while. Operation reinvention. I'm

0:43

running it myself, running it within my face, your passion

0:45

group as well. That's where it

0:47

is this summer. What that means is,

0:49

is there one thing you can do over the next 90 days

0:52

between now and say Labor Day here in

0:54

America at the end of summer? Is there one thing that

0:56

you can not tweak a little bit, you know, not lose

0:59

four or five pounds, but change

1:01

completely, completely, totally change

1:03

something about your life. Can you do it in the

1:05

next 90 days? The answer is yes, you can. What

1:08

would it be though? I'll tell you what

1:10

mine is, not today, but I will soon.

1:12

I want to make sure I can verbalize it correctly

1:14

for you. As not to sound silly.

1:16

It is a Daily Boost

1:18

podcast from motivation to move.com. My name is Scott Smith.

1:20

Good to have you here today. Thanks for stopping by.

1:22

Can I believe it's 18 years

1:26

we've been doing this show every single day

1:28

and reinventing constantly all the time. Are you

1:30

doing that? I believe personally

1:33

that you should be in a

1:36

state of motivational bliss. It's not

1:38

what you think. Okay. Don't freak out about that. This

1:40

is kind of, you're not talking about like always

1:42

upbeat and smiling and happy, happy, happy all the time. Well,

1:44

yeah, if you want to be, I love that. My wife

1:46

is like that most of the time, unless I cause her

1:48

some other state and that happens regularly. Trust me. But

1:51

no, here, here is motivational bliss to me. Ready for it?

1:53

And you can have this if you want to. You see,

1:56

I don't like the word no. And

2:00

it's not that I don't like the word no from other people, I don't like the

2:02

word no from me. I

2:04

love the word possibility. I

2:06

love to be able to know that I can do whatever I want to do.

2:10

That if one day, no matter what happens, no matter where I am,

2:12

no matter how good things are or how bad things are, doesn't matter,

2:16

I can just change. That I

2:18

can just decide to explore the possibilities

2:20

and become something else. I

2:22

can be as low as possible and we've all been

2:25

in situations where you just, like business, right? Business

2:27

can be tough sometimes. And sometimes you just, how am I

2:29

going to get through this? How am I going to make this happen?

2:31

You feel like, oh my God, this is... and

2:34

yet, somehow deep inside, it's like, well, I can do it if I want

2:36

to, so why not just do it? So

2:39

to me, that's motivational bliss. If I could

2:41

talk you into doing that, if

2:44

I could talk you into believing that you always have the

2:46

power and the control to do whatever you want to do,

2:48

no matter what you think is in your way,

2:50

it's always up to you. If I could get you to feel that way,

2:53

so every single minute of the day, whenever you felt blocked,

2:55

you just go, oh, that's okay. I can just do it

2:57

anyway. That'd be a

2:59

win for me. Just

3:02

too many people feeling blocked. And

3:04

I think a good part of my job is to help them get

3:06

unblocked, and maybe I can help you do that today a little bit.

3:10

Let's talk about some actions that

3:13

you could take if

3:16

you were forced to start over again. I

3:19

will tell you this, a lot of people contact me and work with me,

3:21

and one of the things they say, Scott, I just feel like I want

3:23

to start over, and I'm thinking, why would you ever want to do that?

3:27

I remember what it was like when I was 15 or 25 or 35. I

3:31

remember that. It was fun. Don't get

3:33

me wrong. It was a good time, but it was hard. It

3:35

was really hard. It's far easier to get older and get some wisdom in you and

3:37

kind of know what's going on. The world is

3:39

an easier place when you realize it's an evil place.

3:41

It is. Well, it is. Mother

3:44

Nature hangs out on planet Earth way too much, and it

3:46

just has lots of issues. Man,

3:49

it's beautiful at the same time. You live

3:51

long enough to figure that out. But

3:53

what if you had to start over again and you're starting where you are today?

3:55

What would you do? Well, here's the number one thing I would

3:58

do. And by the way, it is the hardest thing. Yep,

4:01

going to start with the hard one. Get

4:04

absolute clarity and focus. If

4:07

you have to start over again, what

4:09

one thing do you want

4:11

to change about your life or your lifestyle? What do you want it to be?

4:15

Absolute clarity, absolute

4:17

focus. Now,

4:20

a lot of times you don't get that absolute clarity and focus until

4:22

you have to. You've been pushing the

4:24

corner. It's like, okay, I guess I

4:26

got to. Guess I better

4:28

make some more money this month. Boom, you go

4:30

do it, right? Guess

4:33

the taxes are due at midnight. Better get it done. Again,

4:37

the hardest part of this whole equation is absolute

4:39

clarity and focus, and I'll tell you this. It

4:42

doesn't often happen overnight, although

4:44

it does happen instantly. Sometimes

4:46

you have to kind of work at it and push toward

4:48

it and think about it and live it a little bit,

4:51

and then suddenly, pow. Something

4:53

happens, and there it is. But

4:56

you can't change your life unless you know what it's

4:58

going to be, right? Number

5:01

two, I want you to confirm your why. Success

5:04

and happiness is going to take time, and

5:07

long-lasting success and happiness isn't guaranteed. So

5:11

you've got to have a strong why. That's

5:14

how you're going to persevere. So

5:17

say you're unhappy in a marriage, and you've decided,

5:20

I'm done. Absolute clarity

5:22

and focus, that's it. Even

5:24

if you're saying, I don't know what I want, but

5:26

I know I don't want that. You

5:29

better have a strong why, because

5:31

your boat's going to get rocked. It's going to

5:33

get tough, and depending on your situation, it

5:35

may be tough for years to come. You better

5:37

know why you're doing it. Number

5:41

three, you've

5:43

got to clear the clutter. This

5:46

is something I see happen

5:49

all the time, and it

5:51

slows people down. Once

5:53

you know your clarity and your focus, and you know why

5:55

you're doing it, you've got to clear the clutter. You can't

5:57

move forward with the weight of your past on your shoulders.

6:01

That could be debts, it could be bad relationships, it

6:03

could be health issues. You've got to fix them to

6:05

move on. You've got to deal with them.

6:08

And I know it's a big, long list, but Scott,

6:10

why can't I just go do the things I want

6:12

to do? Well, certainly sometimes you can. There

6:14

are certain things you can do. There's no doubt. We

6:17

build foundations. One of the foundational parts of what I

6:19

talk about all the time, the foundation here today, is

6:21

to clear up some of the bad stuff. But that doesn't mean you

6:24

can't be doing the foundational stuff on the other side of the bridge

6:26

you're trying to build. You

6:28

can change your whole life, but you've got to deal with today.

6:31

Way too many people come

6:34

into my world, and they're ready for change, and they

6:36

dive in. And a couple

6:38

of months later, I recognize that

6:40

they are so, so cluttered. They

6:42

can't keep going. Some people come to me, they

6:44

say they want to start a business. Tell me everything I

6:46

need to hear. So let's go. Let's start doing it. Turns

6:49

out every dime they were paying to start their business is on a

6:51

credit card that was already almost maxed out. That's

6:54

not how you start a business. You've

6:56

got to clear the clutter. Don't clear the clutter.

6:58

You can't go anywhere. So you need your absolute clarity and focus. You

7:00

need to know your why, and you need to be clutter free. So

7:05

I've been hearing from a lot of guys

7:07

lately who are thanking me for telling them

7:09

about HIMSS, our sponsor today. They have changed

7:11

men's health care in a very big way.

7:13

Now most guys are not big fans of

7:15

going to the doctor, especially if they are

7:17

having an ED issue. And that is what

7:19

makes HIMSS so cool. The process is simple.

7:22

It's 100% online. Just answer a few questions,

7:24

and a medical provider will determine your options.

7:26

The doctor tested ED treatments like healable heart

7:28

meds, brand names like Viagra, or generic alternatives

7:30

for up to 95% cheaper. Life

7:42

7:44

this. Heart meds are chewable compound

7:46

of products which are not approved

7:49

by or verified for safety or

7:51

effectiveness by the FDA. Prescriptions

7:53

require an online consultation with a health care

7:56

provider who will determine if appropriate. Restriction supply.

8:00

information. Subscription required. Price varies based on product

8:02

and subscription plan. Seems

8:06

so simple doesn't it? I know

8:08

it takes more time. I know you don't want to do that. You don't

8:10

want to clean up the mess. And

8:12

sometimes cleaning up a mess takes years and years and

8:14

years. A couple of years ago

8:16

I was sitting in front of my CPA's office and my wife

8:18

had decided to get out of the alpaca business and sell the

8:21

farm. Now

8:23

here I am a guy that actually knows how to get out of

8:25

things and to get into things pretty equally well. But

8:29

my wife had decided to get off the farm and it was a big

8:31

deal. It was 12 acres with all kinds of stuff on it. Tractors and

8:33

everything. And

8:35

I turned to him and I said well how

8:37

do I start? Because it felt

8:39

so big. It felt like I was sitting at the base of Mount Everest. He

8:42

said well I guess you just start it and every

8:44

day just get rid of some of it. Just clean

8:46

it up. It took about

8:48

nine months. Boom. Out of there. And we made money too.

8:50

It was awesome. So

8:53

you get absolute clarity and focus. You confirm your why.

8:55

You clear your clutter. Fast

8:57

as you can. Number four

8:59

take control of your time and

9:01

your schedule. Everything you own doesn't

9:04

matter. Your time is your most valuable asset. Don't squander

9:06

it. Take

9:10

control of your time. So much

9:12

of what's going on with you right now is being controlled

9:14

by somebody else. That might

9:16

mean you get up early. Might need to stay up late. I don't know what

9:18

it is. Take control of it. Find a way to do it. If

9:22

you don't take control of your schedule and your time

9:24

is impossible for you to focus on what you need

9:26

to do. You'll be focused on everything else around you. And

9:29

the final one is

9:32

one that I started talking about maybe 15 years

9:34

ago. Because I'd

9:36

heard from my whole entire life maybe you've heard that

9:38

too. I think Tony Robbins said it first. You're

9:41

going to take massive action. He's

9:43

right. He's

9:46

right. But the problem is massive

9:48

action makes a mess doesn't it? You

9:50

ever notice that? But that's how you

9:52

do it. You go make a mess. I talk to sales people all

9:54

the time. Business people all the time. We're trying to build these things

9:56

up. People make more money. Problem is

9:59

as soon as you take massive You start making more money,

10:01

you create massive mess. It just happens. And if you

10:03

create enough massive mess, and certainly if you don't have

10:05

clarity, focus, you don't know your why, you haven't cleared

10:07

the clutter. You have no control over your time.

10:10

When you make a massive mess, it

10:13

can stop you to tracks. There's

10:15

nothing more demotivating than making

10:17

more of a mess than you already have. So

10:20

what I did a long time ago was I just kind of

10:22

changed my way of thinking about it. I accepted the fact that

10:24

I was going to make a mess. Then no matter

10:26

what I did, I was going to make a mess because that's the way

10:28

life happens when you start moving forward. When

10:31

you have your clarity, when you know your why, when the

10:33

clutter is gone, you got control. It's time to take massive

10:35

imperfect action. Make a mess.

10:38

Notice results. Clean it up. Make a mess. Make a

10:40

mess. Make a mess. Don't

10:42

be perfect. Don't worry about it. Just get off your butt and

10:44

go after it and go do it. If you need to start

10:46

over, why take five years to do it if you can do

10:48

it in 30 days? You

10:50

can. You got to have clarity and

10:53

focus. You got to know why. You have to clear

10:55

your clutter. You have to control your time. And

10:58

you got to take massive imperfect action until you get the momentum

11:00

you need to make the change you want to make. If

11:03

you do that, everything changes fast. If not,

11:05

the weekend will be here. You're going out having

11:07

a good time. Monday's going to roll around. It's

11:09

another week. You

11:12

listen to the podcast on Monday. All

11:14

right. Yes, right. I'm going to take some action. Massive,

11:16

imperfect action. That's what Scott said. This

11:18

week I'm going to do it. Okay.

11:21

It's up to you. It's not about

11:23

learning more, guys. It's about taking control. You

11:26

already know how to do that. See you tomorrow.
