Hello world, and welcome to another episode of Dev in Progress! Today, we briefly go over the optimal stopping problem (and a little bit on explore/exploit) from the incredibly fascinating book Algorithms to Live By by Brian Christian and Thomas L. Griffiths. The secondary title of the book is The Computer Science of Human Decisions. Now if that doesn't sound right up my alley, I don't know what is.

Then we go into the book I just finished called Digital Minimalism by Cal Newport. I discuss the questions it raised for me, how it made me feel as a developer, what it made me realize about solitude and social interaction, how it opened my eyes to the realities of our digital world, and slightly mitigated my long-standing bias for all things technology.

Let me know your thoughts and feelings at jiana.dev@gmail.com, so we can chat about all these fascinating things and geek out about the freaking Computer Science of Human Decisions! And also if you have an easy way of explaining that math to me, that'd be much appreciated. After all, I am only just a dev in progress.

Hope you enjoy!
