This week on Discover the Hustle Podcast we talk about the Millennial Mindset. Basically we really dive into the importance of having an open mind and the comparison across generations. We think that many millennials have an open mind to change, more than the older generations. In our mind, education of any kind, is really a stepping stone to open mindedness. The realization that you will never know all sides to everything helps you take a step back and listen to what others have to say. We have access to the Internet, which opens our minds to so many different sources of media. When comparing this to older generations, change wasn’t readily moving that quickly. We were born into an era where technology progressed so quickly we had to change. The Internet truly accelerated the projection of opinions of everyone else. As millennials, our communities have branched out to more than just our immediate family and friends. We can join online communities through social media and other Internet sources, which help develop our open minds. Because we see so many opinions, were almost forced to be open. We truly believe that open mindedness accelerates growth as a human being, or entity of any kind. You see what’s possible. It’s not about being soft and people pleasing. It’s about respecting other people’s opinions and learning from their backgrounds/experiences. Everyone believes what they do for some reason. If you want to even begin to change their mind, you must find the root of why they believe what they do. This is done through conversation, not argument. You will hear stories of our experiences with others and their unwillingness to be open minded.
Our question to you: How have you personally worked to become an open minded person?
