Jason Johnson is an academic, political analyst, and writer. Currently, he is an associate professor of Communication and Journalism at Morgan State University, where his teaching focuses on political and international journalism.In 2010, Johnson became the Politics Editor for The Source, and he is also the Politics Editor of The Root. He is a regular political contributor to MSNBC, CNN, and Al Jazeera English. In Ohio, Johnson is a regular political commentator on several local radio stations. He has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The Hill, The Cincinnati Enquirer, Akron Beacon Journal, and The Plain Dealer. He has appeared in Essence and Black Enterprise.Johnson has been a campaign manager for legislative races in Virginia, South Carolina and Maryland.Johnson's first book, "Political Consultants and Campaigns: One Day to Sell," was published in 2011.Johnson received his B.A. in Government from the University of Virginia, and his M.A. and Ph.D in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
