"DTVC Extra" are shorter solo episodes that I'll be posting on some weeks in addition to the main podcast. In this episode we're finishing our look at the Star Trek original cast franchise with "Star Trek V: The Final Frontier" and "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country." With the first film, I look at the volume of sequels that came out in 1989, and where this fit with those. Then I get into what played a role in this movie ultimately not working. With the second film, I get into my own personal history with it, and what I liked and didn't like, then I look at Star Trek's legacy as a whole. Where does it fit in this current ecosystem of fandoms and franchises?
