You're listening to easier. I'm Anthony

0:02

Wagner and I gotta tell you this is going to be

0:04

a strange different episode. Um,

0:07

so I don't know, honestly if

0:09

I'm considering this a little episode or

0:11

not. Uh, I think just for the sake

0:13

of consistency I'm going to, but the reason

0:16

that it is strange is because

0:18

I have had kind of a , a realization

0:22

I finally have gotten to a place where I've

0:24

been interested in going. And that's

0:26

what this whole episode is about. And we're going to be talking

0:28

about overcoming imposter syndrome. And

0:31

the way this came up was because

0:33

I was at Starbucks with one

0:35

of my very good friends, Colleen, and

0:37

she and I were talking, and I told her,

0:39

you know , um, I'm in a space

0:41

with the podcast. I just don't feel connected

0:44

to it. And I definitely am putting out content

0:46

and the content's been pretty good, but I'm

0:48

just not, I feel I feel stagnant.

0:50

And so we had this whole conversation about

0:52

that. And what it turned into

0:55

was this discussion in

0:57

a strange way about

1:00

imposter syndrome. So what

1:02

ultimately this means is that the whole podcasts

1:04

focus is shifting immediately,

1:07

right? I'm not even gonna wait, it's a , by the way, happy,

1:09

happy new year. This is a January

1:12

1st in this episode airs. So happy new year to

1:14

you. And I thought given that it

1:16

is the new year, this would be the perfect

1:18

time to shift focus. So

1:20

I haven't really decided on the structure,

1:22

but the focus is moving

1:24

to an online marketing, digital

1:26

entrepreneurship type focus.

1:29

I've kind of touched on those elements a lot

1:31

throughout the course of this show's history.

1:34

However, I've always been pretty

1:36

, uh , afraid of tilting

1:38

fully into that topic.

1:41

I, it's basically because it's

1:43

been a, like a sneaky form of impostor

1:45

syndrome that's had its hooks into me and I didn't

1:47

really put my finger on

1:49

the fact that it was imposter syndrome.

1:52

So this episode, what we're going to

1:54

do and going forward, I'm going to

1:56

focus on one topic

1:58

per episode. So previously, all of my episodes

2:00

that had multiple topics in each, each

2:02

episode going forward is just going to look

2:04

at one specific topic as

2:07

it relates to online

2:09

marketing, digital marketing,

2:11

entrepreneurship, things like that. This is what

2:13

I really want to talk about. And so the first thing

2:15

I will say on this

2:17

topic is that that may unfortunately

2:20

not appeal to some of you who I've counted

2:22

as a very loyal listeners so

2:24

far. Hopefully it appeals to everyone who

2:26

listens to the show on a regular basis, but

2:29

if it does not appeal to you, if digital

2:31

, uh , entrepreneurship online marketing

2:33

are not an area that you're, that

2:35

invested in, in learning

2:38

more about and being a part of a community around

2:40

then I have absolutely

2:42

no hard feelings. If you decide that the show

2:45

isn't right for you, I thank you so, so much

2:47

for being with me thus far. However,

2:49

if you are interested in these topics or

2:51

at all in work and continuing to talk about

2:53

productivity, then you'll fit right in

2:56

as we go along. So I'm really excited

2:58

to change this format and

3:00

shift really hard shift into

3:02

online marketing. That's what I want to talk about. And

3:05

basically the idea is making online

3:07

marketing easier. Right? We're going to keep the same name for

3:09

the show. And uh, yeah,

3:11

another thing I want to give a quick disclaimer

3:14

, uh , going forward and I think I'm gonna announce this at the top

3:16

of every episode, once I've gotten into

3:18

the , the new vibe of things , uh,

3:20

there may be some explicit language going

3:22

forward. I'm going to , I think I'm going to change the show settings

3:25

to flag that there may be some

3:27

, uh, explicit language that's part of my personality.

3:30

I swear all the damn time. See, there you go. And

3:33

, um , so that's something I'd like

3:35

to incorporate into the show. Just, it's

3:37

just my personality. And I've kind of downplayed that

3:39

because I wanted to put out a more

3:41

clean podcast if, I guess, if

3:43

you want to call it that. But going forward , uh,

3:46

yeah, I'm not going to be afraid of swearing on

3:48

the show and uh, you know,

3:50

all the way up to F bombs that will come later in

3:52

the show, I promise because there's a quote that I have to read that

3:54

has one in it. So there will be one in this show. All

3:57

of that is to say if you've got a little

3:59

ones or anyone that you don't want to

4:01

hear that language, maybe pop in a pair of headphones

4:04

to listen going forward. Okay. So

4:06

changes that's online marketing, new

4:08

, uh, adult language.

4:11

Um , one topic per episode, I'm going to test

4:13

out at the beginning monthly themes and

4:16

we're going to focus in a number of different

4:18

topic areas. So the topic areas

4:21

that I'm considering , uh , that I think

4:23

I'm absolutely going to use and they'll expand

4:25

and change as we go, but they're in the areas of

4:27

entrepreneurship, marketing, best

4:30

self technology organizing.

4:32

And then I still am going to have favorites, but again,

4:35

everything is going to focus around

4:37

online marketing and making business and online

4:39

marketing easier. Okay. All

4:41

that boiler plate aside. I'm glad

4:43

that you're , if you're still with me and still listening to the

4:45

show, really appreciate it. I

4:47

want to say one last thing. I suppose

4:50

before we start talking about

4:52

imposter syndrome and that

4:54

is that this just feels right for

4:57

me. I've struggled with kind of feeling

4:59

a , not a disconnect from the audience,

5:01

but I just feel that the show

5:03

, um , there is some engagement there

5:05

is relatively low. I do hear from some

5:07

of you occasionally, but I would really love to

5:09

hear from folks more frequently and I

5:11

think being more specific around , uh,

5:14

you know, a niche topic is helpful.

5:16

I think that folks get more passionate the more niche

5:19

down you go. And I think

5:21

that I have certainly become like

5:23

laser focused on these things and all

5:25

of this ties into my, my worldview

5:28

and the things I want to accomplish and stuff

5:30

like that. So this is just the right way to go

5:32

and I'm really excited to go

5:34

down this path with you. I explained to Colleen, I messaged

5:37

her this morning and I said that I felt

5:39

previously like, you know,

5:41

at least now I noticed this. I couldn't have known

5:43

it then. But um , previously I felt

5:45

like I was lost in a forest somewhere

5:48

and suddenly I've stumbled upon a path

5:50

and now I have a way forward. That

5:52

seems pretty clear to me that this just

5:54

makes sense. But I guess

5:56

the big that's looming is why

5:58

did I wait so long to make that

6:01

change? And I will say

6:03

that it is really a

6:06

product of, of strange version

6:08

of imposter syndrome. So what is impostor

6:10

syndrome? The basic definition of imposter

6:13

syndrome is the persistent inability

6:15

to believe that one success is deserved

6:17

or has been legitimately achieved as

6:19

a result of one's own effort or skills . So the short version

6:22

is that you don't deserve success or

6:24

that you don't deserve the rewards

6:27

of your effort or that you even deserve to think

6:29

about those rewards. So I'm talking

6:31

today about how to overcome this because it's

6:33

so detrimental. And

6:35

I really thought I had a handle on it from that kind

6:38

of generic definition, but I

6:40

discovered that there another layer that was holding

6:43

me back. So we will get to that. So

6:45

let's start talking some strategies

6:47

for how to overcome imposter

6:49

syndrome. And I've gotten

6:52

six from Marie Forleo who is

6:54

amazing. If you haven't listened to any of them or Forleo's

6:56

stuff or read her book, she is amazing.

6:58

Just search Google

7:01

for Marie TV and she will come right up and watch

7:03

anything, anything she puts out. But

7:06

it really, the imposter syndrome video

7:09

hit home with me before and then I read it in

7:11

her book. Everything is figureoutable and

7:13

it just made sense for me to kind of summarize

7:16

some of her points from her uh , experience.

7:19

And then I have a few of my own that I'm going to share

7:21

and in terms of how to overcome imposter

7:24

syndrome. So the first tip that Marie

7:26

shares, the first six are hers. And then I have three

7:28

of my own and I'm going to kind of give my take on each

7:31

of these as we go. So the first one is to

7:33

share the shame. Maria says

7:35

that lots of high achievers,

7:37

and I know this is me to struggle with shame

7:40

and we resist talking about

7:42

anything that makes us feel shameful. And

7:44

so what's true is that imposter

7:46

syndrome is totally rooted in shame.

7:49

We're shamed, we feel shame that

7:51

we're not going to be good enough, that we are not going

7:53

to sell enough, that people aren't going to like what we do, things

7:56

like that. And that

7:58

causes us to kind of bottle that up. I know

8:00

that's true for me. I'm guessing that's true

8:02

for some of you. If you've been in this space where you're pursuing

8:04

new passion, a new hobby, a new business,

8:07

and you feel some shame around that, that you shouldn't

8:10

write , that word should comes up a lot. So that

8:13

is a problem. And the best way

8:15

to combat it that both Marie

8:17

Forleo and then Bernay Brown, she's a shame

8:20

researcher that both of them advocate

8:22

is that you just

8:24

kind of have to dive into it. You've got to talk about

8:26

it, you've got to bring it to light because

8:28

shame can't exist in the light, right? It's based

8:30

in fear. It's based to the shadows and as soon as you bring

8:33

it out in the light, it's like that scene in the Hobbit

8:35

where you've got the trolls all hanging out and

8:37

they get distracted until the sun

8:39

comes out and they all turn to stone or like Hocus

8:42

Pocus, same deal. They can't survive. Those

8:44

gremlins can't survive in the light.

8:47

So you have to bring them out and talk about them. And that's hard

8:49

for high achievers and it's hard to even

8:51

know that we're talking about shame

8:53

in and of itself. So imposter syndrome

8:55

is based in that were actually my first tip that

8:57

we'll come back to when we get to, I think number seven

9:00

is , is about this. So that's number one is share the

9:03

shame. Number two is shine

9:05

your light out. This is totally a Marie Forleo

9:07

idea. And let me add this, I don't think I mentioned

9:09

it, but Marie Forleo, if you don't know who she is,

9:12

she is a an individual

9:14

who talks, she's like a life coach

9:16

kind of person and she talks about building

9:19

business and it's beyond

9:21

that though too. She talks kind of self-development,

9:24

self-growth, entrepreneurship, stuff like that.

9:26

And she is wildly popular and very

9:28

much deservedly so. She's amazing.

9:30

So if you haven't checked out her stuff, I will have a link

9:32

in the show notes and I'm still going to call

9:34

this a little episode even though it really isn't,

9:37

but I'll still leave it at little easier.

9:40

cast.com/little 22 that's this week's episode is

9:42

a little easier. 22 so I guess we'll keep that for

9:45

now. And then we're probably gonna shift back into

9:47

a regular episodes, maybe sooner, but

9:49

at least on schedule, which is at the

9:51

beginning of February and from then on it it might change a little bit.

9:53

So we'll see. Anyway, shine your light out

9:56

is her idea that your attention is like

9:58

a flashlight and can only focus

10:00

on so much at a time really in one direction.

10:02

So if you spend a lot of your time shining your light inward

10:05

on the insecurity, on all

10:07

of the negative that's going on, you put all

10:09

that focus there and you can't see anything else.

10:11

But if you make the conscious decision to turn

10:14

the flashlight around, point it outward

10:16

and shine it on the customers or the people you're

10:18

trying to serve that audience and

10:20

their problems, it helps to kind of

10:22

diminish the, you know

10:24

what's going on there. So shining your light

10:26

out is step number two. Number three is an

10:28

amazing idea and I really got to get on doing this.

10:31

I've got to go back and compile things. But number three

10:33

is start a hype file. So you've

10:35

may have heard of a swipe file where you kind of go online

10:38

or wherever clippings and things like that, and you

10:40

keep all of the stuff reference

10:42

material that you like other people are doing

10:44

right? If you're in a marketing space, you can take

10:46

all the ads that you see, like take screenshots and things

10:48

like that, keep them in a file and that way

10:50

you can swipe the information and

10:53

use it for later. So she calls

10:55

this a hype file and this is basically

10:57

putting all of the good stuff that

10:59

happens in one place so you can reference

11:02

it when the going gets tough. Things

11:04

like nice comments, good reviews,

11:06

uplifting emails, insights you find

11:08

online milestones, things

11:10

you've accomplished, anything like that. All can go

11:12

into this hype file and it'll be

11:15

there waiting for you when you're down in the dumps

11:17

and just hate life. Right. I know

11:19

I've been there and that

11:21

little file for me,

11:23

I mean when I go back and see other things, I keep track

11:25

of milestones in my planner, but

11:28

beyond that, just all the nice things that people have said.

11:30

Stuff like that is definitely a pick me up and you

11:32

could set up a place like a physical file if you want

11:34

an in print that stuff out and put it physically in a

11:36

file or you could put it

11:38

in a notebook in OneNote or Evernote, a

11:41

Google drive folder, a one drive folder, things

11:43

like that. Any of those would work for your hope file system

11:45

for three. Number four is track

11:47

successes and stumbles,

11:49

right? So the hype file kind of

11:51

in and of itself is the successes bit,

11:54

but making sure that you're tracking milestones as

11:56

you achieve them. I do this on a weekly

11:58

basis. I can attract the good things that happened

12:00

throughout the last week, but she recommends that you track

12:02

your stumbles as well and I am

12:04

definitely going to start doing this. Thinking back each

12:07

week as I do my review, what

12:09

things have I struggled with and what mistakes

12:11

or failures have occurred, and

12:13

you can learn a lot more quickly from them when you

12:15

can see them in one place and you can reflect

12:17

on them without having to like wait

12:19

for that quote unquote inspiration for that

12:21

memory to come back. So that's number four is track

12:24

successes and stumbles. Number five

12:26

is develop a GoTo mantra and a

12:28

spoiler alert. Here comes the profanity.

12:30

I know I've kind of led up to it, but

12:32

so I'm not a big kind

12:34

of mantra person. I'm, I think

12:37

of myself as a realist, right? I think of

12:39

myself as relatively grounded and

12:41

I don't think there's anything wrong with mantras, but for me

12:44

they just seem a little, I don't know, maybe

12:46

the nice word is a theorial . They just, they're

12:48

just typically aren't for me. However, Maria

12:50

suggests a couple of Montrose on

12:53

her in her video that just

12:55

hit home, especially the one from Mindy

12:57

Kayling . Then I'm going to read in a second and I

13:00

think I'm going to probably like put

13:02

this somewhere so I can see it all the time. But she

13:04

suggests when you're getting, when you get in a rut or

13:06

you get down on yourself to have a couple of

13:08

mantras or at least one ready to go, and the one

13:10

she recommends for Mindy Kayling is, why

13:12

the fuck not me? Uh

13:14

, the idea is that you ask

13:16

yourself, well, why should me, why should I deserve? Why

13:18

should I have, why should I be successful?

13:21

Why should I have a business? Why should I want? And

13:23

the response to that should be, why the fuck not

13:25

me? Like hello. That's why

13:27

should I not be deserving of all of those things

13:29

too. So that's, I love

13:31

that. That really just hit home and I love

13:34

it and I'm going to start reminding

13:36

myself of that. Why the fuck not me? And

13:39

then the other one is from Marie Forleo herself

13:41

and her, hers

13:43

is your Marie fucking Forleo

13:46

. You've got this bitch. And

13:48

that one cracks me up. And that one's not quite

13:50

my style. The first one is much more to the

13:52

point a and a little less dramatic

13:55

I would say. But um, yeah, come

13:57

up with a mantra, something. And if

13:59

the profanity laced mantra doesn't

14:01

work for you like it does for me for sure.

14:04

Uh , tilt into something else,

14:06

right? Look up something that would make sense for you. But

14:09

I am a realist. And while

14:11

typical mantra is don't speak to me, I

14:14

will start saying, why the fuck not me?

14:16

Whenever that negativity

14:18

strikes. So that's number five. Number six is

14:20

stay humble. And this is

14:22

her last tip where she

14:25

cautions that folks suffering from

14:27

imposter syndrome, typically, not typically, but

14:29

they often can go to a place of overcompensation.

14:33

In other words, they become huge douchebag

14:35

assholes. And that drives people

14:37

nuts. They go way too far. They try

14:39

to make it seem like they know at all to avoid people thinking

14:42

that they really have no

14:44

knowledge whatsoever. And

14:46

that's coming from a place of shame and

14:48

don't do that right? If you find

14:51

turning into that idiot that everybody around you

14:53

hates. Head back to tip number one,

14:55

which is talk about

14:57

the shame with someone and

14:59

do that ASAP. You and everyone around you will.

15:02

Thank you. Okay, so those are

15:04

Marie Forleo's six and let's

15:06

talk about three more. That were my

15:08

own insights as I started

15:11

to learn about this and what

15:13

I didn't realize was I

15:15

have a bit of, had a bit of a mutant

15:17

version of imposter syndrome going

15:19

on, right? Typically the definition

15:22

is that you don't feel that you deserve

15:24

success, that you shouldn't want X, Y, Z,

15:26

that you're not capable

15:28

or qualified enough. And so my situation

15:31

was that I wanted to talk

15:33

about business, about entrepreneurship, about podcasting,

15:35

things like that. And I kept saying, well, you're not an expert,

15:38

right? You don't have enough success. You're

15:40

not successful enough to demonstrate that anybody should

15:42

listen to you so you can't talk about it yet.

15:45

And that yet part was really kind of, it's

15:47

like the carrot on a string dangling in front

15:49

of you. It's like I kept avoiding

15:51

talking about this space of avoiding,

15:53

talking about building a business and online marketing.

15:56

But the desire was always there. It was always dangling

15:58

in front of my face. And it

16:01

wasn't until I realized over the weekend I

16:03

was talking to Colleen and I said, it was really kind

16:05

of down. I couldn't figure out who my audience

16:07

was. I just couldn't, didn't feel focused.

16:09

I wasn't connecting with the content. The engagement was

16:11

low and all that stuff was true.

16:14

And I finally snapped out of it when

16:16

Colleen was talking to me and

16:18

she said, well, you don't have to be an expert

16:21

to share things that people care about. And I was like,

16:23

Oh shit. That's

16:25

true. Right? You don't

16:27

have to be , uh , you

16:29

know, Amy Porterfield to quote an

16:31

online marketing expert, right? She's a podcast

16:34

or everyone, a lot of folks know who she is.

16:36

She's very famous. You don't have to have that level

16:38

of success in order to have

16:40

insights that other people might

16:43

want. Right. I've learned a ton

16:45

from where I started from, right. I started

16:47

this journey years ago and I'm definitely

16:49

going to share that story at some point in its

16:51

own episode. But I mean, I started off with

16:54

a blog that I think I called a powerful

16:56

day, which was to focus on

16:58

similar content, but it was still vague, but right,

17:00

so I started in a place that didn't make any sense. I grew

17:03

into these other kinds of blogs.

17:05

I failed a number of times. In other words, those

17:07

things had been shut down. I think there were three of them

17:09

and they've shut down, and I've had

17:11

a lot of learning experiences along the

17:13

way to get to this point where

17:15

I'm able to talk confidently about

17:17

the things that I'm talking about. But even if I wasn't in

17:19

this space where I've been doing this for years

17:22

and I'm starting to see minor success

17:24

and it's maybe starting to grow, I

17:26

didn't even need to be. I could have said all along, I

17:28

want to be in a digital marketing space. I

17:31

want to talk about entrepreneurship and online

17:33

marketing and I'm

17:35

going to share it from the perspective that I'm

17:37

new to this and I'm not an expert. Here's my journey.

17:40

And I think people like that kind

17:42

of stuff. It's, you're not so much listening

17:44

just to experts. You're listening to people who are just

17:46

like you. And that's what really what I am.

17:48

I don't claim to be an expert. I don't have

17:50

to be an expert. Right? I've learned

17:52

a lot in this space and I may have

17:54

been denying other people some of this information.

17:57

I know when I help Colleen get her stuff started, she

17:59

was very grateful for kind of the

18:02

leaps she was able to make over a lot of the technical

18:04

issues I had in developing my website

18:06

and things like that. So I

18:08

have things to share. I'm not at all

18:10

claiming to be an expert. I'm looking to grow success

18:13

and I'm looking to do it publicly in a vulnerable

18:15

way, which you know, it is vulnerable

18:17

to share stuff like this. Um, but

18:19

I don't have to be an expert. I don't have to

18:21

feel like I don't have enough

18:24

success, therefore I'm not qualified to talk about

18:26

it. That's bullshit. I'm calling bullshit

18:28

on myself and I'm talking about it. That's how

18:30

we got to the plane that we are now with

18:32

this show we're talking about online marketing.

18:35

It's about making online marketing easier. That's where

18:37

we are number eight. That was number seven

18:39

by the way. Number eight is that your

18:41

ideas matter, my ideas

18:43

matter, right? I had this period

18:45

when I was trying to come up with other business ideas

18:48

and I was struggling

18:50

to find something that wasn't already done

18:52

before. Well, I learned a couple of things. The first thing

18:54

is that if you find something that hasn't

18:57

been done before, chances are nobody wants

18:59

that thing. So you, you want

19:01

things that have been done before, meaning there's a market for

19:03

them already. It's much harder to create a market for things.

19:05

But anyway , um, the other thing

19:07

was that what I had to say was irrelevant

19:10

that nobody would care and that's false and I'm going

19:12

to challenge you not to think that, that I want

19:14

you to start saying to yourself, this could be your mantra.

19:16

Your ideas matter, my ideas

19:19

matter. So a while back I created

19:21

a desktop background and it's this

19:23

beautiful night sky. I think it's either on an ocean

19:25

or a Lake and it's got some like mountain , uh,

19:28

off to the side and it's a beautiful

19:30

starry night sky. And I put the words in

19:32

thin white letters kind of in the sky.

19:34

Your ideas matter and I set that as my desktop

19:36

background so I

19:38

have reinstated that to my desktop

19:40

background. It is backup now on my screen.

19:43

And what I decided was, Hey, I

19:45

think other folks might like this too. It's gorgeous. So you

19:47

can see if you go to the show notes easier cast.com/little

19:50

22 you can see it as like the big

19:52

image at the top of the page. As you scroll down,

19:55

before you get to the content, that image is a preview

19:57

of it and then you can see like a preview

19:59

of it, a screenshot of my desktop

20:01

background in the show notes. So if you like

20:03

it, I would love to send it to you for free. So

20:05

, um, I , I created a mobile version

20:08

two so you can set it as your phone's background too if you

20:10

wanted. So that's pretty cool. You'll get both. So if you go

20:12

to easier caste.com/downloads

20:14

which is, you know, just the word D, O w

20:16

N L a, D. S, that's where I'm going

20:18

to start putting all of my freebies. And

20:20

this is a place I'm , I'm hoping,

20:23

I'm still kind of working out the technical stuff. I will

20:25

have this one thing there for sure.

20:28

If you want it, that's where you'll go to get it. So it will be

20:30

there, it will live there. That's how you'll find it. But everything

20:32

else, all the other freebies I've ever offered,

20:34

my goal is to put all those

20:36

downloads, the checklists that I've

20:38

had, the 15 strategies

20:40

for getting more out of the day , stuff like that. All those

20:43

things in one place. So you enter your

20:45

email address to grab that and

20:47

it will give you like all

20:49

the stuff in one place. I think that's pretty

20:52

, uh , I think it's pretty cool, right? It's a lot

20:54

easier than having to download 15

20:56

different times and put your email address in every single time.

20:58

I'm trying to create it so everything's in one place. So hopefully

21:01

if you go to easier cas.com/downloads

21:04

that's where that will be. I'm testing out different stuff

21:06

right now. I'm playing with like a an eCommerce

21:08

thing where you go to their shop and you can download

21:10

anything without having to do a bunch of stuff. I

21:12

may ultimately just kind of create

21:14

a single like link resource

21:17

that gets emailed to you when you request a download

21:19

and I'll just keep updating that and putting new

21:21

links in there so you can always access anything.

21:24

You just do it one time and you'll always get the

21:26

updates. So I think that's pretty cool. Easier. casp.com/downloads

21:30

um, you can also go to the show notes. There's a link there so it's

21:32

easier to [inaudible] dot com slash 22 okay.

21:35

Number nine is the last one. And

21:38

the last thing is I wanted to kind of bring this

21:40

full circle and talk again about number one,

21:42

which is sharing the shame, but I

21:44

wanted to add on to it. Share with someone

21:46

you trust and I

21:49

don't think that we always label what we're

21:51

feeling as shame. Right?

21:54

I would not have said imposter syndrome,

21:56

shame. That didn't make sense to me, but

21:58

that's what it is, right? It's rooted in that place

22:01

and so I take it a step farther from share

22:03

the shame to share the struggle. It gives

22:05

you more leeway in

22:07

terms of what we're talking about, right? It's a broader

22:09

definition, a broader suggestion

22:12

when you're struggling about something,

22:14

something with your business, share it, whether

22:16

it's in an online community, and

22:18

I'm hoping that this is something we can grow as part

22:20

of this platform. I've got a really clear idea

22:23

and how about an online community we can grow

22:25

to support each other in

22:27

this entrepreneurial journey or

22:31

whether it's someone in your

22:33

space that you trust or a friend

22:35

that you trust. Colleen, for me, is that

22:37

person, right? She is my

22:39

trusted person that I believe

22:42

will give me honest feedback. When the logo

22:44

is ugly, she's going to say, no, that sucks.

22:46

Maybe she'll say it nicely, but she'll say, no,

22:48

that sucks. When the

22:50

idea sucks, she'll say it sucks. But when the

22:52

idea is good, she gets really excited for me. And

22:54

when we had this conversation, she was like

22:57

jumping up and down excited for me. So

22:59

that is my last piece of advice to share

23:01

with someone you trust and

23:04

get that real honest feedback

23:06

that will help keep you on track, but also help you to

23:08

stay motivated. So those are the nine

23:11

strategies, tips for learning

23:14

how to overcome imposter syndrome.

23:16

I cannot tell you what

23:18

a relief it has been. I'm in such a

23:20

a better place. I have so many ideas

23:23

of content to share with you. So

23:25

many strategies. Actually what's interesting

23:28

is that how we're

23:30

going to structure this coming up is going to feed

23:32

right into the other stuff that I've been creating.

23:35

So as an example, January, I'm

23:37

planning to do all about goal

23:39

setting. Whether or not there are little episodes or not,

23:41

I don't know . I may just convert

23:44

back to regular early because that's this.

23:46

Today's episode really was a full

23:48

on episode. I wonder how many words , uh

23:51

, I wrote in the show notes already. Yeah,

23:53

I mean, well it wasn't quite that many, but um,

23:55

you know, it was like 1500 words in the show notes. So

23:59

maybe we're not going into little, but it's

24:01

going to be all about goal setting because this

24:03

is the time everyone's making and setting new

24:05

year's resolutions and things like that.

24:08

And so I have a pretty big announcement.

24:10

I kind of buried it here because it's not 100%

24:12

I've got lots of irons in the proverbial

24:15

flare here. I've got lots of stuff going on so it's not

24:17

100% perfect. It will never be.

24:19

But my course that I've mentioned a few times

24:22

is finally ready. You can finally

24:24

register for that and it's

24:26

called now. It used to be called, it started

24:28

off as focused for real and craft

24:30

your big goals and now the whole thing is called

24:32

clear mind. The

24:35

idea is that to

24:37

do list stress, people the hell out

24:39

and they, it stress me the hell out.

24:41

Oh God, I can't tell you how much my to do. This used

24:43

to stress me out and the fact that I never could

24:46

trust my system. And then I was all over the place

24:48

and I was just constantly organizing and reorganizing

24:50

work. And I finally found

24:52

a way to make that better. Your

24:55

to do list doesn't have to be stressful.

24:57

So if you're an entrepreneur who's growing a business

24:59

online and you feel paralyzed by

25:01

all the work that's on your plate, you are absolutely

25:03

not alone. I used to feel this exact

25:06

same way and that's why I developed the method.

25:08

It's called clear mind and its ultimate

25:10

goal is to take you from that stressed

25:13

out, wigged out place where you've got

25:15

a bazillion things and not enough time to do it. That's not

25:17

going to change. I'll tell you that much. You will always have too

25:19

much to do and not enough time to do it, but

25:22

you will feel so much better about the things that

25:24

you pick to work on. You'll know

25:26

that you're doing the right stuff at the right

25:28

time through this method. And I have

25:30

the whole first , uh , unit

25:32

done. That piece is called craft your

25:34

big goals. And by the end of that unit you

25:37

will have a complete

25:39

flushed out passion-based

25:42

list of goals that we can iterate

25:44

on. That's the first step. The next step is

25:46

to narrow that to focus on just

25:48

one goal and I teach you how to do that and

25:50

the last is to implement my

25:53

like crazy awesome tracking

25:55

and planning method that I just, it's

25:58

like it's changed my life. So if

26:00

you put your name previously, as I mentioned a

26:03

few weeks ago on the wait list for access, there are about

26:05

20 folks who said that they were interested in

26:07

early access to this course and

26:09

you will 100% get first dibs

26:12

at the course. The way you're going to register for

26:14

it right now because it's still kind of being developed, you

26:16

need to shoot me an email and you can do

26:18

that by just sending an email to

26:23

podcast@easiercast.com saying that you're interested. I will enroll you

26:25

and give you the instructions for enrolling in

26:27

the course. It will not always be that way, but

26:29

because it's still kind of in beta, the content

26:32

is done. It's all uploaded to the platform.

26:34

You can go, you can watch it all, you can get

26:36

everything out of it. I just kind of, the

26:38

stuff that's around it has to be beefed

26:41

up. And so for right now, email@podcastateasiercast.com

26:45

say you're interested in clear mind. And

26:47

if you were one of the first

26:49

folks, I only have 10 seats, I should say that

26:51

for these founding members seats just

26:54

10 and those come at a $9

26:56

price point, which is crazy,

26:58

right? $9 is unheard

27:00

of for courses on the whole, especially

27:02

at, you know, as much content is

27:04

going to be in this. So ultimately

27:06

the price will go up, it will go up very soon. As soon as

27:09

we hit the 10 that's it. So

27:11

the folks that um

27:13

, are on that list as

27:16

of today, right? You've already submitted, there's about

27:18

20 you get first access, shoot

27:20

me that email podcast@easiercast.com

27:23

and I will get you instructions to get enrolled

27:25

and you can pay the $9 and that'll be that

27:27

you get lifetime access to the whole course. So this is an

27:29

amazing deal because ultimately I'm planning to charge

27:31

at least 99 if not one 99

27:34

for the course in the future when it's fully

27:36

developed, all the content is there. So you'll get access

27:38

to all of that. You'll get access to the exercises

27:41

and I train you on some tools that are amazing

27:43

and you get access to me. There's going to

27:45

be a community, the whole tracking system,

27:48

which is incredible. Um, there's

27:50

just so much. So shoot me

27:52

that email, get on that wait list and

27:54

we're going to be talking about this course

27:56

and goal setting for the

27:58

month of January because it goes hand in hand with this whole new year's resolution.

28:01

Dealio so that's all I've got

28:03

for you for this episode. I don't have

28:06

like a formal highest , uh , sign

28:08

off right now. I'm still working on updating

28:10

all of these materials, but because I released to

28:12

you on a weekly basis, I wanted to make sure that I

28:14

at least talked while we're still in transition.

28:16

So this is the

28:18

new format for the show. I would love to hear what

28:20

you think. You can still go to the show notes and leave a comment,

28:23

which is easier. cast.com/little 22

28:25

you're welcome to shoot me an email and

28:28

we can talk about it. I think I'm going to

28:30

resurrect my Facebook group and we'll start

28:32

looking at that. There's a whole lot that I have planned

28:34

, uh, and you know, these

28:36

topics just, you just get my juices going,

28:38

entrepreneurship and marketing and tech and

28:41

you know, like web design and all this stuff

28:43

around building a business. So I hope you enjoyed

28:46

the content for today. I'm looking forward, so,

28:48

so forward to bringing you more. I've already

28:50

got all of January planned out and I really

28:52

think you're going to love it and we're going to build

28:54

a terrific community together. So until

28:57

next week, here's to easier

28:59

online marketing. Bye for now.
