With a key role in championing patient and public involvement, Mr Wood chairs the Patient and Public Engagement Group.
Mr Wood also has a key role in the oversight and assurance of primary care commissioning; in particular, chairing the Primary Care Commissioning Committee.
He was appointed as an Independent Deputy Chair in October 2015.   He is a retired police detective superintendent, following a successful 30 year career in the Leicestershire Police.
He is also currently Office in Charge of the Leicestershire Junior Attendance Centre and has held the post of Vice Chair of the Corporation of South Leicestershire College.
