SHOW NOTES:

In Podcast Episode 270, “ALWAYS Keep Your Spiritual Guard Up!“ Kim discusses the unique but very sad story about “the man of God” and “the old prophet.” As unusual as the story may be, there is a definite reminder regarding letting down one’s spiritual guard.

Our focal passage for this episode is 1 Kings 13:11-34 with verses 18-19 as the focal verses:

18 But the old prophet answered, “I am a prophet, too, just as you are. And an angel gave me this command from the Lord: ‘Bring him home with you so he can have something to eat and drink.’” But the old man was lying to him. 19 So they went back together, and the man of God ate and drank at the prophet’s home.

May God honor this personalized scripture prayer in the life of each listener:Dear Lord,I pray that from Your glorious, unlimited resources You will empower each listener with inner strength through Your Spirit. May You make Your home in her(/his) heart as she trusts in You. May her roots grow down into Your love and keep her strong. And may she have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep Your love is. May she experience Your love, though it is too great to understand fully. Then may she be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from You. Now all glory to You, who is able, through Your mighty power at work within her, to accomplish infinitely more than she might ask or think.
