Hey everyone, before we get into our recap

0:02

of season 5 we want to mention a new series

0:04

we produced with Voyage Media called The

0:06

Third Threat. A Russian terror

0:09

cell has infiltrated the United States and

0:11

it's up to a normal businesswoman named Jess to

0:13

help bring them down. The political

0:15

thriller series based on several novels

0:17

is full of twists, turns, and tons of action.

0:20

If you like shows like Jack Ryan or 24,

0:23

then you'll love this. 7 Lamb

0:25

wrote, casted, and produced the entire series

0:28

and you can listen to the whole thing right now. Just

0:30

search for The Third Threat by Voyage Media wherever

0:32

you listen to podcasts. Thanks!

Recap Hello

1:02

everyone and welcome to

1:04

the season 5

1:07

End of All Hope recap episode

1:11

featuring me, Robert Lamb the writer,

1:14

Hope Ennis who plays Ava The

1:17

star Okay, and Jack

1:20

Austin who plays Ambridge Hello, thank

1:23

you so much for having me We're here

1:25

for another recap episode because season 5

1:28

just ended

1:29

What? Stop staring so hard I'm, I'm,

1:31

you're across the table I know, look over

1:33

there Jack is next to me Um,

1:37

yeah, so this is the season 5 recap

1:39

episode, we just wrapped that up Super

1:41

long season that came out a long time

1:43

ago But, uh, it's finally

1:45

done and we're here to talk about it But before

1:48

we do, we're gonna do like we did last time and

1:51

basically go through the whole season I

1:54

think Jack read it last time unless it's another podcast He

1:56

looked right at me right as it happened Yeah, I can't remember

1:59

that I type this up

2:01

very quickly. So there might be spelling

2:04

errors. There might be any kind of grammatical errors.

2:06

Please point them out. That's funny.

2:08

Any run on sentences will be at least five sentences.

2:11

There's going to be a lot of those. And

2:13

yeah, it's four pages long. And basically

2:15

it's just going to recap all the season five.

2:17

And then we'll get into the fun stuff of just chatting about

2:20

it. But we want to fill everybody in.

2:22

So that way, if you are about to listen to season

2:24

six, because maybe season six is coming out and

2:27

you want to get a recap, here it is right now.

2:30

For

2:30

your listening ears, Jack Austin,

2:33

season five, sit back and listen in

2:35

Duval Hope, season five, recap

2:38

spoilers, of course. So

2:42

season four left on a pretty big cliffhanger

2:44

where Ava walks into the home where Scott

2:46

and her mother should be. But it cuts off

2:48

with her calling out, is anyone here? Well,

2:52

is there season five picks

2:55

up right where season four left off. Ava

2:57

explores the house with Bree, but finds no

2:59

one. Scott, Ava's mother and

3:02

Christina are not in the house. They do

3:04

find Christina's nurse purse, nurse

3:07

purse and a dog bowl. But that's

3:09

pretty much it.

3:10

Ava does have a minor breakdown.

3:12

She blames Bree for not keeping up during

3:15

their escape through the battlefield. But

3:17

she also blames herself for rushing

3:20

Mark as all her hope

3:22

faded. Oh boy, Robert.

3:25

Oh boy. After a good cry,

3:27

she joins Bree in searching the house more.

3:30

Eventually they find a painted note on the

3:32

back, on the back of the front

3:34

door that reads in Bodega

3:37

Bay. Is that where Scott is? Was

3:39

Bodega Bay a QC, QC.

3:42

Ava's hope is slightly restored.

3:44

Meanwhile, back in Denver,

3:47

Mia has a meeting with Roger and

3:49

Dana after they discover alien

3:51

vegetation slowly growing towards

3:53

their camp.

3:55

Not only that, but the alien creatures have

3:57

been busy in the center of the city erecting.

4:00

some kind of large tower. But

4:02

Roger has a plan. There

4:04

is word of a safer area further

4:07

north in Wyoming, a military

4:09

base run by Rangers. Roger

4:11

wants Mia to accompany him as they scout

4:14

it out to make sure it's safe.

4:15

Mia reluctantly decides to go but

4:18

sees that Chris is upset. But

4:20

it's not what Mia thinks. Chris

4:22

wants to know why Mia wants to leave the zone

4:24

so badly. Chris likes the life

4:26

they have now. Eventually, we

4:29

follow Jay, Ambridge,

4:32

and Kylie as they make their way towards Christina's

4:35

house.

4:35

One night while sleeping in a semi, they

4:38

hear loud footsteps and see trees

4:40

moving in the distance. Some large creatures

4:42

making its way through the woods. Luckily,

4:45

they don't have to deal with it as it eventually moves

4:47

away.

4:48

Later, when Jay and company finally

4:51

make it to Christina's home, they too find it

4:53

empty. But there's a reveal that makes their

4:55

visit important.

4:56

They actually arrived before Ava and

4:58

Bree. Jay, Ambridge, and Kylie

5:02

take some time to look around and then call

5:04

it a night.

5:05

The next morning, Kylie and Jay have a talk

5:07

about what's next and whether to keep

5:09

holding out hope for Jay's family.

5:11

The plan is now focused on Bodega Bay

5:14

since that's where his family is supposed to be.

5:16

Jay gets the idea to do like Mia

5:18

did and leave a note for Ava and Mark or

5:21

possibly even Scott. He writes on the

5:23

back of the door in Bodega Bay. That

5:25

way, no one can miss it.

5:28

Excuse me. Sorry.

5:30

So now both Ava and Jay are heading

5:33

toward Bodega Bay, although Jay

5:35

has the jump on Ava.

5:37

Back in Denver, Mia and Chris continue

5:39

to talk about their future plans. Chris

5:42

wants Mia to help with the zone more knowing

5:44

that the people like her even, people

5:46

like her, even Roger. There's a meeting

5:48

within the group talking about the military

5:50

base and how they plan to travel up.

5:53

There's a lot of questions of logistics and whether

5:55

people will want to leave the comfort of

5:57

the zone. Finally, it's decided Mia, Chris,

6:00

Roger, Travis, Dana, and Annie

6:02

will head up to scout out the base. Mia

6:05

also convinces Chris to leave afterwards

6:07

so they can go find a place of their own. Page

6:10

one. Now

6:13

page two. Page two.

6:16

As Ava and Jay head north, separately

6:18

of course, they have to traverse

6:20

across wide swaths of alien

6:22

vegetation while avoiding shriekers

6:24

and thrashers. They also don't head

6:27

up the same way. Jay and company

6:29

end up heading through a zoo. They don't realize

6:31

they've

6:32

made it to a zoo until they see a

6:34

hungry rhinoceros that ignores

6:36

them in search for food. When

6:38

they discover the zoo is actually the San

6:41

Diego Safari Park, they decide to

6:43

cut through. It's not until they discover

6:45

half-eaten elephants that they hurry out and

6:48

find safety in a van for the night.

6:50

The next morning, Kylie and Jay have a talk

6:52

about what will happen when they reach Bodega

6:54

Bay. On their own path, Ava

6:57

and Brie travel quickly, only resting

6:59

when necessary.

7:00

But they get a lot of time to talk. Ava

7:02

apologizes to Brie and opens up about

7:05

Mark.

7:05

They bond some more with Brie standing

7:08

by the fact that she's glad

7:10

she joined Ava and Mark. At least Ava and

7:12

Brie are together.

7:14

One night though, they find there are more

7:17

dangers lurking outside when

7:19

a giant creature appears, hunting thrashers.

7:22

Luckily, after the monster kills and eats a

7:24

thrasher, it stomps off, allowing Ava

7:26

and Brie to avoid danger.

7:29

Mia and company aren't so lucky. After

7:32

they make it all the way up to the highway,

7:34

Mia and Chris stay back

7:36

with the vehicles while Roger, Travis,

7:39

Dana, Annie, and

7:41

Annie go to explore the military base. The

7:44

four of them are ambushed and Mia and Chris head

7:46

to rescue them. But

7:48

are shot at themselves. The

7:51

group gets pinned down and it seems

7:54

all hope is lost

7:57

until it's revealed that there's been a huge move.

8:00

mistake.

8:01

While hiking through the San Bernardino

8:04

National Forest, Jay, Ambridge and

8:06

Kylie find themselves running low on food,

8:08

water and supplies.

8:10

While Ambridge makes a fire Kylie and

8:12

Jay go off to hunt.

8:14

They get to have some more time together. But Jay

8:16

questions why Kylie likes hanging

8:18

out with him so much. Jay thought he

8:20

annoyed her but she corrects him and assures

8:22

him that she likes his company. And

8:25

while they were hoping to get deer for dinner,

8:27

they are only able to secure rabbit son

8:29

of a bitch. That's it. Days pass

8:32

and they're still traveling through the forest. They're

8:34

hungry again. Kylie gets blisters

8:36

because they're worn out shoes.

8:38

And they're now lost.

8:40

They decide to call it a night early so

8:42

they can go hunting again. But

8:44

this time Jay goes alone.

8:46

He's only able to secure a rabbit again. But when

8:48

he turned returns to the camp, he finds Kylie

8:51

and Ambridge have been taken hostage

8:53

by a couple of bandits.

8:56

Both Ava and Jay have been having nightmares.

8:59

Ava keeps dreaming of Mark's last moments

9:02

while Jay has been dreaming about Harris

9:05

and about not helping Kylie and Ambridge.

9:08

But now he has his chance after he

9:10

sees Kylie get shot. He attacks

9:12

with an arrow killing one of the two bandits. Ambridge

9:15

gets loose and dispatches of the other one.

9:17

It turns out Kylie didn't get shot but

9:19

the gunshot was right by her ear

9:22

and now she can't hear out of it.

9:24

Oh no. While

9:27

Ava and Bree travel, Ava

9:29

and Bree's travel has been mostly

9:31

uneventful. They do have a run

9:33

in with an old man who warns them of things

9:36

to come. Evil men driving around

9:38

in trucks and jeeps tormenting people.

9:40

And that reminds Jack of the guy from South

9:43

Park. Don't want to go down that route.

9:45

Yeah, yeah. Lotta history guy from that cemetery.

9:47

Yeah.

9:49

Sorry. Bad news is everywhere

9:52

as Roger does not look good. The shootout

9:54

at the military base was a mistake by both

9:56

parties. The inhabitants of the base and

9:58

Mia's group shooting at each other. her,

10:01

mistaking each other for bandits. The

10:03

shootout saw Roger and Dana hit. Dana

10:05

was able to escape with only a wounded arm,

10:08

but Roger wasn't so lucky. Mia

10:10

talks with him one on one to find that Roger

10:12

won't last much longer.

10:14

He asks Mia to take care of his daughter Jess

10:17

and tells Mia he thought she would make

10:20

the best leader. Roger

10:22

eventually succumbs to his wounds and dies

10:24

in the base.

10:26

Like a loser. The rest

10:28

of the survivors meet with occupants of

10:30

the base and apologies are made. Travis

10:32

says Roger wanted him to make the final call

10:35

about page 3.

10:43

The move north, but he still talks with everyone

10:45

else who's present. They decide to head back

10:47

to the zone to discuss further.

10:50

Back at the zone, Mia tells Jess of Roger's

10:52

fate. They have a funeral for him.

10:54

Dana says some words about the formation of

10:56

the Rangers and Mia wraps things

10:59

up succinctly. Then

11:01

she then goes off on her own to think about

11:04

things. Jess shows up and her and

11:06

Mia have a heartfelt talk

11:08

about the future now that Mia would be

11:10

caring for her.

11:12

Jay, Ambridge and Kylie

11:14

eventually find their way out to

11:17

the woods and take refuge in an abandoned home.

11:20

There Jay shares his dreams with Ambridge,

11:22

but tells him he hasn't had a nightmare since

11:24

the attack of the bandits in the woods.

11:27

After that, Kylie, Ambridge and Jay

11:29

share some bonding time cutting each other's hair

11:32

and playing board games. The next

11:34

morning Jay shaves his face and finds Kylie

11:36

some new shoes. Then they head

11:38

out.

11:40

Meanwhile, Ava and Brie are having a tough

11:42

time with the heat. They test out different

11:44

cars along the highway hoping to find some transportation

11:47

but find nothing.

11:48

One night while resting, they hear some gunshots

11:51

in the distance, but

11:54

they never see the source. Days

11:57

pass slowly as they walk through intense

11:59

heat. They were running low on water, so

12:01

they decide to raid a house. But as they do,

12:04

a young man gets the drop on Ava, holding

12:07

a gun to her.

12:08

Luckily, Bree sneaks up on him and shoots

12:10

him in the arm.

12:11

The young man apologizes and admits

12:13

he wasn't going to do anything.

12:15

Ava and Bree slowly kill him,

12:18

pulling out ribs from his butt. Just kidding.

12:20

Ava and Bree have

12:23

a talk about trust and eventually help

12:25

the man named Connor.

12:27

Connor wants to join Ava and Bree, offering

12:29

the information of a place where they can restock

12:32

a safe haven called Lake Isalayla.

12:35

Back in Denver,

12:38

Mia joins all the other guards and

12:40

supply runners for a meeting where they decide

12:42

what to do.

12:43

It's eventually decided the move is on,

12:45

but only for those who want to go.

12:48

After the meeting, Dana approaches Mia and tells her

12:50

she should lead, but she doesn't want the

12:53

responsibility.

12:54

After killing some Thrashers, Jay, Ambridge,

12:57

and Kylie make it out of more woods

12:59

and set up camp in a field.

13:01

Everything seems fine until Ambridge hears

13:03

something. Footsteps.

13:05

It doesn't take long till Jay

13:08

and Kylie hear them too. The

13:09

same type of giant creature that Ava

13:12

and Bree saw attack.

13:13

Bree saw attacks? Oh, attacks them.

13:16

Sorry gang. I haven't read this before.

13:19

This is my first time reading it. The

13:21

thing known as a behemoth almost

13:24

gets Ambridge, but he's too handsome

13:26

and saved by the

13:29

last moment by rocket fire. A

13:31

convoy of survivors help to injure and

13:33

scare the creature away. One of the men

13:36

named Ryan, also played by a man

13:38

named Ryan, offers

13:40

assistance to Jay and company and tell them

13:42

the area.

13:44

No, no. What? Tell them to tell them.

13:46

Oh my God. Tell them of the area. No.

13:49

As Lake Isabella. Should've been known

13:52

as. Yeah.

13:53

Okay. That's where his convoy is heading.

13:56

After they leave, Jay gets upset. Hmm.

13:59

Realizing. was almost killed, he

14:01

starts to question their trek. But Ambridge

14:03

and Kylie assure him that they're in for the long

14:05

haul. Ambridge then gets

14:07

an idea, a new idea for travel about

14:11

in Denver, people start to get ready

14:13

to for the move. Oh my goodness. In Denver,

14:15

people start to get ready for the move. Mia and Travis

14:18

argue a bit about Travis's way of doing

14:20

things. But she keeps what Roger said

14:22

to herself.

14:23

In California,

14:25

Connor ends up joining Ava and Bree

14:27

as they head north.

14:29

At one point they see some evil men

14:31

attacking a woman but aren't able to intervene.

14:34

Bree gets mad at Connor, who

14:36

she thinks chickened out but Ava claims

14:38

calms her by telling her they would

14:40

have probably died or been captured.

14:43

Page four. Been

14:48

captured themselves but before Bree can

14:51

apologize to Connor men hidden

14:53

among broken vehicles and bushes pop

14:55

out. They

14:56

turn out to be the guards for Lake Isabella.

14:59

They made it.

15:00

Jay, Ambridge and Kylie eventually secure

15:03

sailboat even knowing nothing about

15:05

sailing. Nevertheless, they take

15:07

one and head north sailing as best they can.

15:10

Before Mia and the convoy leave

15:12

Grant, an occupant of the military

15:14

base and fellow ranger calls to tell

15:16

them that bandits have been consistently

15:19

attacking the base. They

15:21

don't know how much longer they can hold

15:23

out.

15:24

Gail, Travis and the rest decide

15:26

they can't send anyone up but decide

15:28

to leave expecting travel to

15:30

take about a week.

15:32

In Lake Isabella, Ava, Connor

15:34

and Bree get acquainted with things

15:37

sleeping under a large pavilion.

15:39

The place is crowded and for the most part

15:41

seems safe.

15:42

They meet a nice middle aged woman

15:45

named Clara who takes a liking to them and

15:47

invites them back to her camp where they meet

15:49

her brother and kids. And Connor

15:51

ends up loving the place and so does

15:54

Bree.

15:55

On the sail. Oh, geez. On

15:58

the sail. sailboat Kylie

16:00

gets seasick and Jay does decently

16:03

with sailing. They pass by San Francisco,

16:05

which has been completely taken over by

16:07

aliens, alien plants and large

16:10

alien tower in the middle

16:12

of the city.

16:13

It looks like another world. They bypass

16:15

it quickly and keep heading north

16:17

after hitting a huge storm, barely making

16:19

it out. They finally reach Bodega Bay,

16:22

which is lively and flourishing.

16:24

Yeah.

16:26

Mia and company travel for days along

16:28

the small highway heading north with a large

16:30

convoy over a thousand people.

16:33

Maria, Barry and several others

16:35

stay back, but Mia and company don't get

16:37

too far before they find they're being stalked

16:40

by a herd of Thrashers.

16:42

Not only that, but they also lose contact

16:44

with the base. Regardless, they push

16:46

forward as they get closer. Travis,

16:49

Gail, Dana, Dana, and

16:51

several other guards discuss what they should

16:53

do.

16:53

Finally, they decide to spend a small team

16:56

up consisting of Mia, Gail, Annie,

16:58

and newbies Harlow and Terrell.

17:01

But things don't go as planned when they are

17:04

instantly hit with a barrage of bullets

17:06

Mia included, who is struck three

17:09

times.

17:11

Only a few more and she's got 50 cent levels.

17:15

Back in California, Eva wants to

17:17

leave Lake Isabella. She's getting antsy

17:19

being so close to Bodega Bay.

17:21

She talks with Clara some more and finds out

17:23

why Clara was so nice to them. Brielle

17:25

reminds her of a daughter she lost.

17:28

She takes a liking to Brie and Connor and offers

17:30

to take care of them if Eva is okay with

17:32

it. Eva talks to Brie and eventually

17:35

Brie decides to stay.

17:37

Eva gets some help from Ryan, the same

17:40

Ryan who previously helped ambridge

17:42

and company against the behemoth. Same

17:45

guy. Ryan leads Eva through the

17:47

forest to the north, but eventually they part

17:49

ways.

17:50

Ryan heads back to Lake Isabella and Eva's

17:53

on her own. Some days pass

17:55

and Eva stumbles into someone's camp, a

17:57

younger guy named Cal. He wants

17:59

to stay.

17:59

to travel with her for safety,

18:02

although she's reluctant. But after a tense

18:04

discussion, she decides to travel with him so

18:06

she can at least find the trails again

18:08

after being lost.

18:10

It doesn't take long before she discovers this

18:12

man is part of the gang that's been terrorizing

18:14

people around the lake. He tries

18:17

leading her into danger, but Ava isn't

18:19

taking any chances. She kills

18:21

Kal and runs off before his

18:23

party can arrive. Several

18:26

weeks pass, and Ava sticks

18:28

by herself never joining anyone else. It

18:30

isn't easy, but she eventually makes it

18:32

to Bodega Bay, where Ambredge

18:35

discovers her asking around about Scott.

18:38

Ambredge takes her to the RV, where Kylie

18:40

and Jay are staying. Ava and

18:42

Jay play catch up, but the happiness

18:44

subsides when Ava discovers

18:47

it was Jay who left the note and

18:49

not Scott. Page four!

18:52

There's one more. Page five! Yeah,

18:55

a little paragraph. Oh, let's go! Let's keep up the intensity.

18:57

Ava takes some time and sits by the bay

18:59

watching the water and boats. Ambredge

19:02

joins her for a little bit to chat about the

19:05

future and what it's like holding on

19:07

to hope.

19:08

Eventually he leaves and Ava thinks

19:10

about what she'll do next. Although

19:12

for that night, she just wants to sit and stare

19:15

out at the water. And season

19:17

five, baby! Yay!

19:26

Wait, are you gaming on a

19:28

Chromebook? Yeah, it's got

19:30

a high-res 120 hertz display, plus

19:32

this killer RGB keyboard, and I can

19:34

access thousands of games anytime, anywhere.

19:37

Stop playing! What? Get out

19:39

of here! Huh? Yeah, I want you

19:41

to stop playing and get out of here so I can game

19:43

on that Chromebook.

19:44

Got it.

19:48

Discover the Ultimate Cloud Gaming Machine, a

19:51

new kind of Chromebook. By

19:53

the way, I don't know if people enjoy

19:57

doing the recaps that way, but we're not gonna edit

19:59

a recaps. recap. So it's either that or not.

20:02

Okay. Yeah. I'm not going through every episode.

20:04

You wouldn't get all the voices that

20:06

Jack does. The intensity, the

20:08

sadness, the pain,

20:11

the stumbling over. I

20:14

mean how fast I wrote it just to piece

20:16

it all together. And the fact that he hasn't read

20:18

it before. So he just reads it through succinctly

20:21

in there. Yeah, I got it. Yeah. That's true.

20:23

You didn't stumble there. No,

20:26

you stumbled over the, that's what they call me.

20:28

One take Jack. Yeah. Well, yeah.

20:32

That's what they call me around my house. Yeah.

20:34

Yeah. When

20:37

you force them

20:38

to that's right. Uh, so yeah,

20:40

that was season five in a nutshell.

20:43

So like, uh, you could listen

20:46

to all 16 episodes

20:49

or, or you could just listen to that 10 minutes

20:52

of Jack talking, whatever's

20:54

more exciting for you. Just

20:57

kidding. Jack do like every single character.

21:00

Yeah. Just a recap of what

21:01

I want the voices of every character to

21:04

no problem. Yeah. You're like done female

21:06

voice. I do it every night. Anyways.

21:08

Yeah. I will watch it. Yeah. Or

21:11

listen. I would listen. Yeah. So that's

21:13

yeah. Season five. So season five, you're

21:15

C Olaf presents. I literally

21:17

was thinking that and didn't think you would, you should

21:19

have known. I would, you would know. You got

21:21

the kids. That's what I,

21:24

let's do it. That's like a three minute recap

21:26

of it. It's like a three minute recap done by

21:29

Olaf of all the entire movie,

21:31

but

21:31

he does it. He

21:33

does it himself and he like puts a wig on. I would

21:35

totally do that for end of all. I support

21:38

this. I know there's so many care. We were talking about this

21:40

beforehand is like, you're part

21:43

of your own story with Ava and

21:45

then Jack's aunt was like, ambridge

21:47

is with Jay and them. And

21:49

then there's also Mia has

21:52

her own thing. So everyone's got like their

21:54

own story, but

21:56

you guys don't know everything like

21:58

with the Mia stuff. I don't usually like its

22:00

own, you know, because the recap.

22:03

That's true. Now you know. I

22:06

mean, I got to be honest, there was a character that I kept

22:08

reading in another group that thought that was in my

22:10

group the whole time. Who? I don't. I think

22:12

it was one of the ladies. I forget. I think it was

22:14

Bree. I thought Bree was with us. Oh, yeah.

22:17

With me. Bree was with her

22:19

was the whole time. Traitor. Yeah.

22:22

It's probably because I read the script and I just look

22:24

for ambridge. Because I said you glide through it. Yeah.

22:27

I used to do that. You used to read

22:29

or I used to get the whole script and read it before. But

22:31

you read the whole thing like the

22:33

first season. OK, I was going to say, like not. It's

22:36

been a while now. I just make you read.

22:38

So like I know. Yeah. Read opposite

22:40

you or whatever. That's why a lot of

22:42

times I play Bree. Yeah.

22:45

Do your voice. Do your brief voice.

22:48

OK. Ready? Yeah. But I don't want

22:50

to. That's pretty good. That's actually pretty

22:53

good. She

22:55

winds a lot. She winds a lot. Yeah.

22:57

Well,

22:57

people were not too taken with Bree.

23:00

That was a thing. People were kind of annoyed by

23:02

Bree, which I guess took some pressure off

23:04

of Jay because people didn't like Jay for a while and

23:06

like Jay. They thought he was.

23:07

I didn't mind her this season last season. I thought. Yeah. But

23:11

Jay Jay's grown on people.

23:13

I've noticed like whenever we ask like people's favorite

23:15

characters, sometimes we'll get some Jason there. I

23:18

think maybe someone posted that like

23:20

who's your favorite character from end of all hope or something.

23:22

And I think I just posted who was your

23:24

favorite. So of it, a lot

23:26

of ambridge. No, that's not true.

23:30

It's probably Mark first. Mark

23:32

was my favorite. It's a lot

23:33

of it's a lot of it. It was

23:35

it's a lot of eat it from it

23:38

or from seven to be. And a

23:41

couple of a couple of mics mics from

23:43

Tower Four.

23:44

That's true. Different, different shows. But

23:47

I know Ava like a lot of people didn't like

23:49

it. Like didn't not like Ava, but they were like,

23:51

that was me too, that I thought that she was

23:53

I. So much

23:55

more now because she was like selfish. She

23:58

was selfish. She got Mark killed. I

24:00

think we got Mark killed if we're talking about

24:02

it. But I mean, I can't wait. Mark

24:05

is dead. I'm kidding. Spoiler.

24:09

Jack's seen all the posts on

24:11

Facebook of how people are crying out. If

24:13

you're interacting on Facebook, you're interacting

24:16

with me or Rob. Yeah.

24:17

Well, I just want to see the sad emojis

24:21

and stuff like that when people get to the end

24:23

of season four. I know I get those all the time. Yeah,

24:25

people say

24:26

that's like one of the main questions I got. Did

24:28

you know that he was going? I was like, yep, I knew

24:30

he was going to die eventually. It's funny because

24:32

like, yeah, I mean, I knew

24:34

like, you know, he was probably going to die,

24:36

but it was more of like when. And then when Nick

24:38

was like, I'm moving, I'm like,

24:41

you did the perfect time to write

24:43

off your character, which is why when some people are like,

24:46

he could still be alive and they're holding out hope.

24:48

I'm sorry. Maybe if Nick,

24:50

I mean, maybe Nick does some voices for other

24:53

stuff, but I don't think he's coming back as Mark anytime

24:55

soon.

24:56

That's just me. I don't never know. But

24:59

if somebody wants to write fan fiction of where

25:01

he survives and

25:03

turn it into a Fifty Shades of Grey

25:05

style story, go ahead.

25:08

Go

25:08

ahead. Well, Fifty Shades of Grey was Twilight

25:10

fan fiction. So there you go. I

25:12

love how you know that. I do know that. I

25:14

know that. I know that, too. It's

25:17

a whole new world for me. You didn't know that? Yeah.

25:20

Yep. And she wrote that on her phone. I

25:23

didn't know that. All of Fifty Shades

25:25

of Grey, she wrote on her phone. So

25:28

anyways, I have

25:30

some like notes here, basic stuff. Just

25:34

I knew that the season was going to end

25:36

with Ava and Jay, like finally

25:40

getting back together and stuff. Yeah. But

25:43

I didn't want to go too far after that. So I just figured

25:45

like that would be a good ending point. Having

25:47

Amberidge spot Ava was kind of spur

25:49

of the moment because

25:51

I don't know. I

25:53

thought that was more. I feel like last time. Those

25:57

two met, he was letting you off

25:59

the hook. Yeah. Yeah, it was in season one. Yeah.

26:01

Was that season one? That was season one. Yeah.

26:04

That was a. When I was a scientist. It was probably

26:06

like episode. He was not a scientist.

26:08

Was all over something like that. He was a. He

26:11

was a military. I was a scientist. Oh,

26:13

that's right. She was pretending to be a scientist. Well,

26:15

technically. OK. You're an

26:18

environmentalist, I guess, whatever. But

26:20

yeah, you were. But yeah. I don't remember

26:22

the scientist's name, do you? Bennett.

26:25

It was something better. Dr. Bennett. Dr.

26:28

Katherine Bennett, maybe? I don't

26:30

know. There's so many characters.

26:32

I get lost sometimes. Like,

26:35

let's go back and play the whole season. Yeah. Starting

26:37

right now. Here we go for your listening pleasure. Season

26:40

one. Season one. We had just like a five minute little.

26:43

My first job doing every voice. That's true.

26:46

Yeah. That was my first big role was Ambridge.

26:48

Ambridge. Yeah. Because he comes in at the end of season

26:50

one. I remember just him being part of one of the army guys

26:52

and being like, oh, that was cool. And you're like, well, he's actually

26:55

coming back. And I was like, oh, shit. And I

26:57

honestly. I can't. No. And it wasn't even

26:59

until like after that, like when

27:01

season one ended where you're like, I like doing this. Like

27:03

if you have more stuff and I'm like, well,

27:05

you want Ambridge to come back because I'll write

27:08

them into season two. And I had him meet

27:10

Jay. And then I was just like their thing. Like,

27:13

yeah, it's been fun playing Ambridge,

27:15

though. I mean, it was cool recording that whole

27:17

death scene for season six. But oh, yeah,

27:19

of course. While it lasts. Spoiler.

27:22

Just kidding. Sorry. Just kidding.

27:25

Do you know who my first character was? I'm kidding.

27:27

Who was your first character? You're paralyzed.

27:29

I think. I

27:31

think before because

27:34

I was Katie, but I do think it

27:36

was nurse Betty first. Like you just got

27:38

a little one. A little

27:40

one. And then and

27:43

then it was it probably was nurse Betty.

27:45

I think it was. Yeah. And

27:47

then Katie and then and then you're like,

27:49

I'm creating the show. It's called End of All Hope. And

27:51

it's about you. No, no.

27:54

It is funny, though, like writing End of All Hope. It's

27:56

kind of like with Ryan, like how Jack mentioned Ryan

27:59

playing Ryan.

28:00

That was just because our friend Ryan was like, I

28:02

want a voice act. And I'm like, all right, let me see

28:04

if I have something for you. And the only thing I had was this

28:06

guy named Ryan. I'm like, do you want to play

28:08

a guy

28:08

named Ryan? I thought you said you named it after him and I'd

28:11

be so mad. No, no, I always

28:13

ask you if I can name the characters and you say no.

28:15

Yeah, but I wouldn't like

28:17

you want to name a character. I want to know why

28:20

a character to be named Hope. I

28:22

do that too. Why? Why

28:24

not? Why not? There can't

28:26

be a hope in end of all hope. Why not?

28:29

That's too much. Because then people are going to think it's about

28:31

her. Can I name a character though? I

28:33

said you could. OK, cool. But it's got it's

28:35

got to be something good. It can't be like Olaf or

28:37

something. Why not? I don't know. It could be. It's

28:39

from Sweden. You

28:41

OK. You're going to name a Swedish. You

28:43

have to play. You have to play them. No,

28:47

thanks. Yeah, he's

28:49

a Rastafarian named Olaf. Hope

28:51

can do different voices, though. For sure. Do

28:53

your Southern Southern

28:55

accent. Give me something to say. Well,

28:58

if you just want to drag your vials a little bit.

29:00

Well, if you just want to drag your vials

29:02

a little bit. See, she can do it if she hears me

29:05

say it. Do Valley. Always do it. You

29:07

say that's just my voice and that makes me mad. Good.

29:10

Nice. There it was. Usually

29:13

I just make him say it and I just. I

29:16

didn't hear you say do Valley girl. Sorry. And

29:19

yeah, that's true. She'll when I like

29:21

there's like certain lines that she'll read

29:24

and like usually we're good, but every once in a while it'll come up

29:26

to something. She'll read it. I'm like, no, like like

29:28

this. And then she'll do it again. I'm like, no, like this.

29:30

And she'll be like, you read it. And then she

29:32

makes me. But my favorite

29:35

things that you say are no, do

29:37

it upbeat. Okay. Not that upbeat.

29:39

Yeah. Okay. But not that low. I hate

29:42

them. Because you got to find that right. Tell

29:44

me what you want. You say it and then I'll just mimic

29:46

you. Yeah,

29:47

that's not. I mean, that's for the most part. It's good.

29:50

And I think reading against people like helps

29:52

out a lot. It really does. I was done. I prefer

29:54

it. Do

29:54

you do that to have him read? Not

29:57

always, but yeah, it depends. if

30:00

it's like a lot of back and forth. And

30:03

then you started. It really depends

30:05

on the character. Like, Ambredge, I don't need

30:07

a lot of reading off of because, you

30:10

know, I always feel in my mind like

30:13

Ambredge is in charge. So I'm gonna

30:15

dictate how he's gonna sound. You're

30:17

like, this is me. Well, no, no, not this is

30:19

me, but just like that's how I feel with

30:21

Ambredge having the military background and him feeling

30:24

kind of like he's babysitting the people

30:26

that are with him. Not in a negative way,

30:28

but like he feels responsible for everyone

30:30

that's around. So when I'm reading him, I'm

30:32

kind of like, okay, he's gonna be saying

30:34

it like this is what we're doing. So he just

30:37

kind of has a preset tone to me, but like Gavin,

30:40

I have to have somebody reading off of me for

30:43

him because

30:44

he fluctuates a lot too through

30:46

anger and not so sometimes I'll be like, all right, this

30:48

time you're a little bit more growly. This time you're a

30:50

little bit more toned down. Yeah, that's when I really

30:53

need him to go, hey, calm down a little

30:55

bit on that one. That was too much. Too

30:57

scary. Yeah, that makes sense.

31:00

In case you didn't know and you only listen to End of All Hope, we

31:02

do a lot of other shows. That's

31:04

true, we do. So

31:06

yeah, check out the Stonehouse where Jack

31:09

plays Gavin and listen to Cop Doctors

31:11

where Hope plays Nurse Betty.

31:13

She's in it a lot. She

31:16

is. Wasn't Katie a nurse too?

31:19

See, it was. Yes, I think she was.

31:22

Because for a while I was like, am I typecast as a nurse?

31:25

Because I played a nurse twice or something. My

31:27

wife has played a lot of librarians. And

31:30

waitresses. Yeah, and waitresses.

31:33

So she feels that she's been typecast

31:35

as a librarian. So every time we're at

31:37

the house and she goes like, shh, like whoa. That

31:40

was really good. You're so in character. No

31:42

wonder why you got typecast. You method actor.

31:45

Let me see what I have. So

31:48

I put, yeah, Jay and Ava, we're both

31:50

gonna make it to Bodega Bay by the end. See,

31:52

a lot of times I'll have the ending in mind for

31:54

like a season.

31:55

I knew that, I knew that. Not that I was

31:57

gonna end there, but that. But that was how

31:59

like. that season was gonna end and then

32:01

it's just more of like how do they get

32:03

to those points? Like that's that's

32:06

where you know I kind of deviate a lot

32:09

so I don't like to outline completely like

32:11

I like to just have like little moments

32:13

that I know I need to hit

32:15

while I'm writing.

32:18

Plus like I like the mixture of like happiness

32:20

that you met Jay like you got to see Jay again

32:23

but like the sadness of that it wasn't

32:25

Scott who left the note.

32:26

It's so sad. I think

32:28

that's funny. Who left the note? Do you know what that's from?

32:32

No. Jersey Shore. Okay

32:34

I'm surprised I didn't get it. Me too. I'm

32:37

a big Jersey Shore head. Wait

32:40

Jersey Shore? Jersey Shore not Jersey

32:43

girl. Oh he said Jersey girl. Not

32:46

Jersey girl. My bad dog.

32:48

Um what

32:51

was I gonna oh that is one thing though

32:53

that was kind of spur of the moment too was having

32:55

uh Jay leave the note

32:59

for Ava to see. Like I didn't even think

33:01

of that until after I wrote like your

33:04

episode like where she sees the note

33:06

on the back of the door and

33:07

then I was like

33:09

oh it'd be interesting if like Jay and

33:11

them actually got there first

33:13

because like when are they gonna get there? So what if they got

33:15

their first and Jay left the note because he was

33:17

heading to where they got the note. Jay.

33:20

Jay. Yeah well that was the thing

33:22

is like how do you do it like where it's not

33:24

ridiculous. I figured

33:26

him just putting that there thinking

33:29

well for two reasons is they heard like Thrasher

33:31

so they were trying to hurry and uh like

33:33

Amber and Kylie are waiting like hurry up Jay. So

33:35

he does that but also for the fact

33:38

that like he doesn't even really

33:40

know if it's gonna work. It's kind of just a

33:42

hey if you do see this maybe Ava

33:44

already got here first or maybe Scott and

33:46

then like they're already gone for good they're not coming

33:48

back but I'll put this note here just to say.

33:51

Do you think if he did write his name she would have went

33:53

to Padigabe? I think so. I think so too.

33:56

Yeah I mean maybe she explores

33:58

for see I don't even know how. you like explore

34:01

for Scott though. It's like the end of the world. I

34:03

think a scenario like that though

34:06

you would cling to familiarity.

34:08

So yeah, if Jay writes Jay,

34:11

she's gonna go. She's gonna go, okay,

34:13

that's good because safety is with Jay

34:16

and people that I know. So let

34:18

me get with Jay and then he and I

34:20

can look for.

34:21

Yeah. And what else would you do? Just sit

34:23

around. Well, that's the thing is like, it's either

34:26

she stays there, waits for Scott

34:28

to come back. Or goes

34:31

to try to find like QZ zones,

34:34

like tries to see if maybe he was taken

34:36

to a quarantine zone. But then it's like, where

34:39

are they? How do you find them?

34:41

All the big cities are hit so you can't really go into

34:43

San Diego. Like it's like, like finding

34:45

a needle in the Chrysler building. Yeah.

34:48

Yeah. Which is slightly bigger

34:50

than your average haystack. Did

34:52

you know that? I did. Okay, cool. So

34:54

that, that joke is from a Saturday Night Live

34:57

skit with Scarlett Johansson. There was this movie

34:59

called Unstoppable with Chris Pine and Denzel.

35:01

Oh yeah, I do remember that. Where

35:04

one of my favorites,

35:06

Rosario Dawson, is

35:08

like, it's like finding an, you know,

35:10

it's a missile the size of the Chrysler building. Oh

35:12

yeah. And they keep going back to the Chrysler building.

35:15

Finding a needle in the Chrysler building.

35:18

I remember that. I remember Unstoppable

35:20

too. Me too. It

35:22

was an intense train. Anytime it's

35:25

on a train, I'm just like, okay, we're done

35:27

here.

35:29

There's not a lot of train stuff anymore.

35:31

Not a lot of good train stuff, period.

35:33

Not anymore. The only time train stuff was

35:35

good was probably train to Busan. That was interesting.

35:38

I'm going to go with the, one of the first

35:40

movies ever made with the great train,

35:42

the train coming at the screen

35:44

back in like 1902. I was going to

35:47

say Westerns always do

35:49

trains well. No, 1902, like before talkies

35:53

were around and that train just came at the screen

35:55

and all those people thought it was real.

35:57

Yeah, that's the best train. You

36:01

had to be there for that one. You guys remember 1902

36:03

guys? Anyone? Back

36:06

when that movie came out guys? It was like a five minute

36:08

movie. You haven't seen it yet? Rob is a vampire.

36:13

All right, whatever. It's a good movie. Check it out.

36:16

Rent to that blockbuster.

36:19

So a couple of other things

36:21

I did introduce, like a couple more alien

36:23

types, which was the behemoth, which was the giant

36:26

monster. I loved that by the way. Some

36:28

people like

36:29

that was coming out the same time that like Tower

36:32

Four or Season One was coming out

36:34

when we released that. So like people were like,

36:36

is this the same monster in End

36:39

of All Hope? And we do have crossover every

36:41

once in a while, but it's not the same monster. But not that.

36:43

Yeah, not that, not the behemoth. And

36:46

then also Ava sees a slug-like

36:48

creature. Remember, do you remember

36:50

recording for that? Probably not. Nope.

36:53

Yeah, it's in the finale. She sees

36:55

it when she's on her own and then she that guy

36:57

surprises her in the winery.

37:00

I remember recording Ambridge

37:03

thinking he was going to get killed by the thing. Oh,

37:06

the behemoth. That was a fun one. When it's like chasing

37:08

him. Would you want to know beforehand? That I'm going to

37:10

die? If I was like, right. Yeah, if I was killing him. Yeah,

37:12

I ask every episode if this is the one where

37:14

I die. I ask it all the time. Am

37:17

I still the main character? Am I going to be in

37:19

next season? Will you ever kill me off? I

37:21

can't answer some of those things. I

37:24

actually do know a little bit into the future,

37:26

but I'm not going to say. Yeah. I think

37:28

I know some stuff. I'm pretty excited about it. I mean,

37:30

I think it's going to be pretty cool, like where

37:32

we go.

37:34

I don't know exactly how many seasons it's going

37:36

to be, but we still got a few more. And then

37:38

I

37:38

have an ending in mind. Let's

37:41

shoot for like 30. OK. Yeah,

37:43

we'll just we'll just Simpsons it. And that's

37:45

it. Yeah. No, because every-

37:47

Ambridge opens up a chain of fancy Finnegan's

37:50

restaurants. Yeah, it's just people living

37:52

amongst the creatures, kind

37:54

of like

37:56

Jurassic World Dominion, where they

37:58

never solve the issue of dinosaurs.

37:59

being out in the wild, they just, by the end of the movie,

38:02

they just go, it's okay. I

38:05

don't care that movie sucks. And after

38:07

the third Jurassic Park, it was, it

38:09

was, it was one too many after

38:11

lost world. I was like, okay, I think I've had enough.

38:14

Yeah, that's, I was thinking that too. I just

38:16

always liked the idea of like in Jurassic

38:18

world dominion, they're like

38:20

dinosaurs are among us. What do we do? And

38:22

they're like, well, we'll just cope with it. And it's like, dude,

38:25

we have like Burmese

38:27

pythons in the Everglades right now, and it's destroying

38:29

our ecosystem. You don't think a T-Rex is going

38:31

to do that? Like it just doesn't

38:33

make any sense. Right? Like there's now a Python

38:36

hunting season. Yeah, because they're overtaking.

38:39

And kill as many as you want. Yeah.

38:41

And they will pay you to do it. Yep. So the

38:44

T-Rex shows up and they're like, no, it's

38:46

fine. It's fine. It won't do much. It'll

38:49

be okay.

38:50

By the way, has anyone seen Jimmy? It's

38:52

been four weeks. Put

38:54

up the missing posters. He used to live right where

38:56

that T-Rex got dropped off. Yeah. So

38:59

crazy. Coincidence.

39:02

Yeah. For this season, you know, Mia

39:04

had a lot to do. She was like a character that

39:06

I wanted to expand upon. I

39:10

know Hope's upset because that's taken

39:13

a lot of spotlight away from A-L. Oh

39:15

yeah.

39:16

All the voiceovers. That's

39:19

one thing though is like, see now

39:21

that like

39:22

when Mia was a like

39:24

main character, cause I'm not going to talk about like

39:26

her story too much cause I don't want to spoil

39:28

things. Yeah. She's dead. She

39:32

had a lot to do. Ava had a lot to do.

39:34

And then Jay had a lot of like voiceover and

39:36

his whole story. And then

39:38

I think that breaks it up a lot. So it actually

39:40

makes recording easier,

39:42

makes recording faster. Like you can come over

39:44

and record like two episodes now when it used to take,

39:47

you know, the same amount of time to record

39:49

one or half. For what

39:51

this past? For like the last seasons

39:54

where like season one. I think I had it worse

39:56

because I was by myself through a lot

39:58

of it. So I have a lot of voiceovers. That's true. for the finale,

40:01

but for the whole season as a whole.

40:03

I mean, the the finale was like

40:05

very Eva centric, but for the most part, I

40:08

mean, and like other people, like Kylie's got some voiceover

40:10

and Amber just had some voiceover, which is weird.

40:13

It's

40:13

a ton of voiceover. And

40:16

there are certain characters that when I see VO

40:18

next to the name, I'm like, what the fuck

40:20

is this? What am I doing?

40:21

Amber is going to get some more VO

40:23

to Gavin got VO. And

40:26

I was like, yeah, what? We're getting

40:28

inside. He only had. He only had VO

40:30

for one episode. Yeah. But Amber, anytime

40:32

Amber gets VO, I'm like, oh,

40:35

oh, oh, here we go. Well, it's hard

40:38

on in there. Yeah. Well, it's hard to

40:40

tell a story through like one person's head all the time. That's

40:42

why I'm having such a hard time with Tower four. It's

40:44

because it's like one person seeing everything. How

40:46

do you like develop the story, develop other characters

40:49

when it's all through his head? But

40:52

with this one, I was like, yeah, I'm going to start expanding

40:54

a little bit more so you get background and

40:56

can see like what other people are thinking and stuff.

40:59

So that way, like, you know, it was still main character,

41:01

but there's other storylines that are going and hopefully

41:04

it all kind of ties in at the end. By the

41:06

way, when is Tower four coming out? We'll

41:09

see. We get that question

41:12

all the time every day of our lives.

41:14

Although we did get that question a lot with

41:16

end of all hope, the finale, because we split it up

41:19

into two parts and people were

41:21

dying for the second part. But the second part

41:23

was one of the

41:24

hardest things I've ever written.

41:26

And not only that, I lost part of the script,

41:28

which was very depressing. Yeah, I

41:30

didn't know that. Yeah, that was really

41:33

depressing. I don't remember what happened, but I was writing

41:35

some of it there like at my house and then

41:37

some of it at the studio because Kim,

41:40

my girlfriend, was painting this table at the time. So

41:42

she would come paint and like

41:44

the seven lamb logo in the table because we redid

41:47

our studio and I was writing. Something

41:49

happened where like I saved the wrong

41:51

file and then I kept writing past it. And then I

41:53

realized like,

41:55

what happened here? And I was missing

41:57

scenes. Oh, my I was missing dialogue. I

41:59

never knew that until I. I read it. Yeah. Just then. Oh,

42:01

really? I never knew that. That's why you

42:03

had to come in like three different times to like

42:06

fix scenes because I skipped

42:08

because I read like shit. No, no. I

42:10

mean, Hey,

42:13

Hey, no, but a lot of it was just that

42:15

I was like, shit, like how do I

42:17

fix this? Because we had some of

42:19

the voiceover recorded that didn't match

42:21

up with other stories like

42:23

the rest of the storyline. Yeah. So that

42:26

was a pain in the ass. And then the guy, there's a

42:28

friend of ours, Logan Ferdinand, who's been

42:30

helping us edit some of these episodes.

42:32

I'm so sorry to you. Me

42:34

and him, like I told him it was a long

42:36

episode. So I was like, well split it. I'll do half. You

42:38

do half. But I would give him like scenes

42:41

and he's like, these lines are missing

42:43

and he would go through and I'm like, dang it. I don't. And

42:45

I was like, here take this script. I think this is the right

42:47

script. He's like, no, it doesn't match up. I'm like,

42:49

Oh my God. So I had to like go back

42:52

and it just took, it took weeks to

42:54

figure out

42:55

what scenes were missing, what dialogue was

42:57

missing and how to fix certain voiceovers.

43:00

So yeah, that was a pain in the ass. I hope I never

43:02

have that happen again. And yeah,

43:05

you have a backup on a backup. Usually

43:08

I backup stuff, but it's just like, I don't know

43:10

what happened. I've heard of that happening. Yeah. Not, not

43:12

of you. I'm familiar with the situation,

43:14

but the first time I've ever heard of you missing

43:16

a script or something. Yeah. I don't know. I don't

43:18

remember what, I think I saved it.

43:21

I maybe deleted something accidentally and then saved

43:23

it and then like continue with the story.

43:26

Not realizing I was missing like a large chunk of

43:28

it, but oh well.

43:30

Um, that being

43:32

said talking about scripts, because this was

43:35

the first finale that we split up into

43:38

two parts, I dug

43:40

it, which was, I think good because it would

43:42

have been a 180 page finale. Yeah.

43:46

But luckily we split it into two parts. That

43:49

would have been our first audio movie. Yeah. I mean, technically the finales are

43:51

at audio movie length, like close enough. Cause

43:55

I have here the season finale page counts season.

43:59

season one, the finale was 36 pages. Season

44:03

two, it was 81 pages. Season

44:05

three was 99 pages. Season

44:08

four, I dropped it back to like 86 pages.

44:11

But then season five, part one was 72 pages, and

44:14

then part two was 108. So that means the

44:16

season five finale was 180 pages. But

44:18

I was like splitting

44:20

it up just seemed like a better choice than trying

44:23

to edit a three hour episode.

44:25

Yeah, basically. I don't even know

44:27

how many ads you have to add to that one. Yeah,

44:30

just like drop them in every five

44:32

minutes. Well, I mean, how long would it have been

44:34

three hours? Yeah. Then

44:36

that's at least that's going

44:38

to be 18 ads because

44:41

for every hour you have to have six. So then

44:43

yeah, at least on Spreaker you do. Right.

44:46

I think it's similar with Acast. Yeah. So

44:48

anytime you go over an hour, you're adding the ads

44:51

quite a bit. Yeah. So although now we're

44:53

not on Acast, we are on megaphone.

44:55

Oh, that's right. We just switched over, but

44:57

yeah, anyways, you can still find our podcasts

44:59

everywhere. You listen to podcasts everywhere. Okay,

45:02

guys for every single place. And if you don't

45:04

find it, reach out to them, not

45:06

us.

45:09

This was the other thing I want to talk about though, is

45:11

because people always complain that we take a long time to

45:13

release. And we won't go into the whole spiel

45:16

of why it takes a long,

45:18

but I do want to say that just to give

45:20

a comparison because I was going through

45:22

season one and just kind of seeing

45:25

roughly how like scripts,

45:27

how long they were and how many characters. So

45:29

to compare it

45:31

with the new season six coming

45:33

out, because I'm trying to write longer episodes

45:35

because we are putting in more ads. Correct. And

45:38

this way it'll kind of like counteract that, like having, you

45:40

know,

45:41

you know, more content to listen to. You

45:43

just have to listen to a few more ads. But

45:45

season one, episode

45:48

one of End of All Hope was 19 pages

45:50

and had four characters, the three main characters

45:52

and Scott.

45:53

Episode two of season one. And

45:55

Scott. Yeah, exactly. Which one

45:57

is at this point. Yeah. At

45:59

this. point people don't even care about. Does he know

46:01

that Fiona and? Yeah.

46:05

Episode two of season one was 11 pages

46:08

and episode three was 15 pages. Episode

46:11

two had three characters and episode three had

46:13

five characters. So

46:15

season six, we've already

46:17

been writing longer episodes, but season six is gonna

46:19

have a lot longer episodes where they're gonna be like 45

46:22

pages for episode one of season six with 20 characters.

46:26

Um, episode two is 53 pages

46:29

with 22 characters and then

46:30

I could have named one of those characters. You

46:32

will get to your chance. There's still plenty of

46:35

episodes coming out

46:36

and then episode three was 46 pages with 21 characters.

46:39

So that's a

46:41

difference between season one and now the upcoming

46:43

season six of just those three episodes

46:45

is 99 pages and 51

46:49

characters. So when people say why is

46:51

it taking so long is because as the

46:53

story progresses, there's

46:55

more characters, there's more story, there's more

46:57

continuity. There's more, there's more of them reporting

46:59

and fucking out. There's so yeah, and

47:02

there's chances that I'll mess

47:04

up a script that I have to fix. Uh,

47:06

so yeah, uh, that's why things

47:08

just take

47:09

a lot longer. I think this finale

47:11

had over 30 something characters, you

47:14

know, but I think, I think, uh, there is

47:16

light at the end of the tunnel

47:18

where we don't always have to go,

47:20

well, it's just one of us and we

47:22

are working diligently

47:24

towards that. So, and that's the thing is

47:26

like, I just want people to like, be aware that like

47:29

we, we

47:30

understand the complaints of releasing

47:32

faster. That's why we did that message to set

47:34

our message from seven lamb kind of explaining

47:36

like how we operate, but also like

47:39

we

47:39

right now we're recording out of a two car

47:41

garage that was converted into a studio. That's

47:43

right. We don't have investors. We

47:45

don't have like, you know, money

47:48

rolling in. Like it's still by far

47:50

my favorite comment we've ever gotten

47:53

is, um, it was somebody was

47:55

giving us one star

47:57

and saying this production company

47:59

should have. really thought

48:01

more about it. It sounds like they just went and found

48:03

their friends. Yeah,

48:07

that's exactly what we did. Yeah,

48:09

we just got some friends and we just started

48:11

writing. That is forever

48:13

gonna be my favorite comment that somebody

48:16

complained that we were what we were. Yeah, exactly. Yeah,

48:18

sometimes people ask me like how I got started. I used

48:21

to work with Robert and he made me. Yeah, he made me.

48:23

I was just like, I hope to this character.

48:25

Don't be Ava. No,

48:28

but that's true. Don't you ever move? Don't you ever.

48:32

I have asked him like if you're you moved

48:34

and I was like, not far away, right?

48:37

You'll still come record, right? You're like, yeah,

48:39

I just, you know, certain days. I'm like, okay. I

48:41

have my stipulations. Yeah, it's fine. We make

48:43

it work. But yeah, it's one of those situations

48:46

where we're trying to, you know, because

48:48

we have to add more ads

48:50

to generate more revenue to pay for the characters

48:52

and the roles and

48:54

sound effects and all that kind of stuff. It's

48:57

just kind of like this circle that like it just

48:59

keeps going. So it's like we make longer

49:01

episodes

49:02

to counteract the amount of ads we have to put in there, but

49:04

also making longer episodes takes longer.

49:07

So, you know, we're trying,

49:09

but we are building up and we are growing. We're,

49:12

you know,

49:13

like I said, I

49:14

think that probably end of

49:16

all hope. I think I mentioned this

49:18

in the last recap. I think end of all hope is like the

49:21

best kind of, um,

49:24

no, best timeline to

49:26

kind of see how we evolved

49:28

as a company from one to season

49:31

five, like to the latest season in

49:33

the sense of it was the first time.

49:35

Like I, there was other shows with

49:37

like shark dropper, the old

49:39

podcast group and stuff, but like they

49:41

weren't like seven lamb. This

49:43

one was like felt more like a seven lamb show.

49:45

And then yeah,

49:46

like just using our actors

49:49

and kind of figuring out editing and writing as

49:51

we went.

49:53

That first season is

49:54

probably pretty rough to listen to

49:57

compared to the later seasons, but we've

49:59

gotten a lot of compl...

49:59

not complaints. We got a lot of people

50:02

saying that they like the fact that it kind of shows this

50:04

progression and gets better and better every season. And

50:07

that's really what I want to do. It's just like, yeah, anytime

50:09

we see a comment

50:11

that's, I guess, kind of in a negative

50:13

light about season one, there's always a bunch

50:16

of people that jump in and go keep, keep listening.

50:19

Yeah. Just like, get past like certain

50:21

episodes and you know,

50:23

we get it. The pacing was off. The writing

50:25

was that great. The editing was in that group. But like

50:27

that was us. That was, like you said, we got

50:30

our friends together, just started producing a show.

50:32

See how it takes off. Well, this came off the heels

50:35

of shark dropper and you

50:37

not knowing if you wanted to do it. And I was like,

50:40

Hey

50:40

man, I'm right here. We're in.

50:42

We're doing this. We're doing it. And then

50:44

we went into it full speed.

50:47

And so we've learned a lot along the

50:49

way. And that's what like a lot of people go, well,

50:51

why do you do so many shows? And it's like, but doing so many

50:53

shows got us to where like, now I'm

50:55

full time doing that. Well, I also know that

50:57

was hard. It's also for the creative

51:00

process too, because you don't want to write just

51:02

the same thing over and over and over again. And,

51:05

you know, it also gives

51:07

us that diversity. And we didn't

51:09

know that paralyzed was going to be liked.

51:12

We didn't know end of all hope or tower for

51:14

any of these were going to even be popular.

51:16

Yeah. So we just threw ourselves

51:19

at all of them

51:20

just to see a lot of people like him. And

51:22

so then we have this problem where it's

51:24

like, you have too many shows. It's like, well,

51:27

somebody out there really likes crystal

51:29

blue or Atlas Avenue beat. We can't

51:31

just abandon it because everybody

51:33

likes this show. I mean, everybody loves

51:35

tower for and

51:36

end of all hope and paralyzed and all

51:39

of those individual fans of those shows want

51:41

their show out. Yeah. And we

51:43

do too. Yeah. But we also have

51:45

an obligation to our

51:47

cop doctors fans and our Atlas

51:49

Avenue beats fans and stuff. So movie night

51:51

fans. Oh, there are.

51:53

There are moving.

51:54

I love movie night. But that's the

51:57

thing too is like,

51:58

even if we just did.

51:59

Tower 4, which is super popular. We

52:02

just did Tower 4, we just did End of All Hope. They're

52:05

good and they generate revenue

52:08

from ads and stuff, but it's just not

52:10

enough to pay for everything.

52:12

So,

52:13

again, we don't always

52:15

like to ask for money because we just appreciate people

52:17

listening to this stuff, but you can go to Patreon

52:20

and help out if you want to. We also just set

52:22

up a PayPal,

52:25

yeah, PayPal account. You can search for seven land

52:27

productions. We're on there in case you just wanna donate

52:29

one time because we had somebody who was like,

52:31

I don't wanna join Patreon because I don't wanna do multiple

52:34

months or whatever. And I don't

52:36

care about any bonus stuff. I just wanna help you guys out.

52:39

So I was like, okay, so I set up a PayPal

52:41

account and we posted it and

52:43

now people are donating on there. Yeah,

52:46

there was another person that posted

52:48

on our site about their own link.

52:51

If it's not posted from the page, from

52:53

Robert or myself or Amber,

52:57

don't click it. Please

52:59

only go through our sources.

53:02

And we'll post nothing against that person. I'm

53:04

sure it was great intention. I just, yeah,

53:07

if it's not posted from us, you may not,

53:09

it may not come to us. We'll

53:12

post a link every once

53:14

in a while on like Facebook or Instagram and stuff, just

53:16

so people can like check it out and stuff.

53:19

But like I said, we're going to

53:21

keep producing. We got season six already

53:24

in production. It'll be a little

53:26

while before it comes out, but

53:29

we're trying to get the jump on it because it is, the

53:33

episodes are so long and there's so many characters.

53:36

Oh, the whole season? Or the

53:38

season or the whole show? The series.

53:40

No, let's do the season. What next season?

53:42

Yeah, how will it end? The last line

53:45

of season six is gonna be,

53:47

but though, I got it. You

53:50

know it? Yeah, I've read the script. Yeah,

53:52

of course. Yeah, before you. It's gonna

53:54

be Ava going, man, I wish

53:56

there was more hope. Yeah,

53:59

because Am...

53:59

says right before like that he

54:02

goes the end of all hope and she goes

54:04

I wish yeah I wish there was more hope

54:07

I love it but the series is

54:09

gonna end similar to that yeah

54:17

season seven is gonna open with Eva

54:19

taking off her sunglasses and making a witty comment

54:22

we won't

54:22

get fooled again wow yeah

54:29

I think I quit okay okay

54:31

how many seasons if we you

54:33

know we don't know how many it's gonna be actually

54:36

but how many will you do 30 30 no

54:38

how many will you like yeah

54:41

so if it goes 10 seasons you're still in I

54:44

mean that's like another four years five years

54:46

recording I always say I will

54:49

let you know way ahead of time

54:51

but I like doing this yeah but I don't

54:53

like when I don't want to come yeah I know

54:55

and I have to I don't like that but most

54:57

of the time you're waiting for me to cancel so

54:59

you don't have to show the best when you're

55:02

like I know you're gonna be upset but I gotta cancel

55:04

today no I know you're not gonna be upset I

55:06

know you I have rules for Robert he has

55:08

to text me the day of to remind me yep

55:10

and if he doesn't text me before like it's

55:12

like two then

55:13

it doesn't count and I don't have to come that's why I double

55:16

like I checked with everyone twice like that's why I text

55:18

Jack today I was like so are you

55:20

for sure coming because like hope I was

55:23

like I got a double check with hope so I got to make sure

55:25

and then yeah

55:27

I'm glad we got to do it yeah I know I literally

55:29

took some reason are we just recording

55:31

or are we doing the recap he's like the recap

55:34

like then I won't cancel yeah

55:36

but we've gotten so much better because now that

55:40

you're not here and you have to drive to the

55:42

studio I feel bad like that's

55:44

true you can't cancel I don't live the studio

55:47

is a two-car garage where I used to live it

55:49

used to be my house yeah but now I

55:51

don't I don't live here anymore we turned

55:53

it into a studio

55:54

it was just this house I'd be like I don't feel like it I don't want to

55:56

yeah cuz I lived here and now I have

55:59

to drive that

55:59

People cancel on me. I'm like, wait, guys,

56:02

I don't live there anymore. You're canceling me.

56:04

I got to drive home now. So, yeah, I

56:06

appreciate that. Yeah, I could record

56:09

every day if it was like anything. I just

56:11

love it. Yeah,

56:12

it's fun. It's fun for the most

56:14

part. It is fun, but sometimes I

56:16

just I want to go home. Right.

56:19

I have little children talking to me all day. I just want it like

56:21

quiet. Right. But also like

56:24

chloroformam. They'll be quiet. I

56:26

did that once. Yeah. It

56:28

didn't take like to do. And

56:31

he's out. What does this. What

56:33

do you want in next season? What do you want?

56:36

Like I want to anything special

56:38

for Ava. So my favorite part, she's in Bodega. What's

56:40

my favorite part? Your favorite part is

56:43

Cal is shooting Cal.

56:45

That was the best. I loved

56:47

it. I immediately posted right after with

56:49

no spoilers. And then after it was done, I was

56:51

like, I loved it. I want to kill people.

56:53

Yeah. I also. Wow. Rampage

56:57

in stories and stories. I don't

57:00

know. I don't think she's selfish anymore, but I

57:02

do like I want her to hold

57:05

true to herself and like what she wants to do. But I also

57:07

want her to listen. Do

57:09

you think she is looking

57:11

for Scott or give up on Scott? You

57:15

know, me answer answer as hope as Ava as

57:17

you. Absolutely not. Goodbye.

57:21

If it was your fiance, what would you do?

57:26

Answer the question. I'm like,

57:30

not yourself in her shoes. Not putting, but

57:32

I'm going to be honest. OK. Never let

57:35

it leave your mind. But don't I mean,

57:37

if it's not a little crazy in her search, I

57:39

think. Right. Look,

57:42

but don't put yourself in positions where

57:44

I was. I just I always thought

57:46

it was kind of weird in like apocalyptic

57:49

movies where a lot of times

57:51

they just never talked about people's like families

57:53

and stuff. It was just like, this is the apocalypse.

57:55

This is this guy. He survived for

57:57

like,

57:58

you know, three years.

57:59

And then that's, but like, he doesn't mention

58:02

his family. He doesn't talk like every once in a while you'll get

58:04

like a walking dead where like Rick

58:05

tries to find Lori and stuff, but like, coral

58:08

coral coral. But

58:11

for the most part, but like all the other side characters,

58:14

not just like Rick, like he's the main character, but all the other

58:16

side characters. It's like, did Shane have

58:18

anybody? Like, did he have any cousins or brother?

58:21

Like did people he cared about Andrea

58:23

other than like her sister, he's there. Honestly,

58:26

there's a movie. It's kind

58:28

of a comedy, but it's Zombieland.

58:30

Oh, yeah. And they have Tallahassee,

58:32

who's Woody Harrelson's character, and he's always just

58:34

this kind of tough guy. And they don't give

58:35

much of anybody's background.

58:38

And like out of nowhere, they're sitting

58:40

in Bill Murray's house and he tells that story

58:42

about the dog losing the puppy.

58:45

Yeah. And then he's like, we made this wallet out

58:47

of duct tape. And then everybody in that moment is just

58:49

like, oh, my God. And they

58:51

find out that it's about his son. And that's like a

58:53

tender moment for a really tough guy. And

58:55

you you find out a lot about his character

58:58

and why he's

58:59

is the way he is. Yeah. And I was like, fuck,

59:02

that was a good moment for such a silly

59:04

movie. Yeah. That moment hits

59:06

really hard. Yeah, because I feel like you don't get

59:08

that a lot in like apocalyptic. Right. And

59:10

that's what made me think of that, because like, if

59:13

if something were to happen to my kids

59:16

in an apocalyptic situation, like if you

59:18

didn't know where they were or like you thought

59:20

they might have been taken to a quarantine zone, wouldn't

59:22

you try to get there? Like you would like

59:25

I would that I would have some reckless

59:27

abandon. He's like, no, they'll be fine. Yeah,

59:30

they can. I've trained them for the rules are

59:33

immediately out of the window.

59:35

I just think that where

59:37

Ava kind of made it like that's her thing. But

59:40

like,

59:41

you know, Mark didn't really have anybody in jail has

59:43

his family. But it was also like,

59:45

you know, he wasn't as like, I mean, he was

59:47

trying to get to his family, but Ava was like, really?

59:50

Yeah. I want to get to Scott.

59:51

So I don't know. Yeah, that's that's

59:54

one thing that I've wanted to see from ambridge

59:56

is like, like I said, he's

59:58

been kind of a babysitter.

59:59

And people have asked him about his family before

1:00:02

and he's like, they're

1:00:03

out there. I don't know. Yeah. I mean, he

1:00:05

went to his

1:00:07

parents home, but when they weren't there, he was

1:00:09

just like, all right, all right. Well, I have no

1:00:11

idea where they are. And he's like, I guess

1:00:13

my dad just packed everybody up and left whatever.

1:00:15

Yep. That's it. Yeah. So

1:00:18

I don't know. Little does he

1:00:20

know he went to the wrong house. They moved the way

1:00:22

before. That's right. And they were there.

1:00:24

They were waiting for him. They had to take him into the house

1:00:27

and there were all these pictures of the family, but they had

1:00:29

had another son that they were

1:00:31

all taking pictures with. Yeah, they actually erased

1:00:33

him from all the pictures, like back to the future.

1:00:36

You guys have

1:00:36

gone so far down the rabbit hole with the slip.

1:00:39

What do you what do you want from Ambridge

1:00:41

in

1:00:42

the next season? Like anything in particular?

1:00:44

Like, do you think him and Kylie kind of have

1:00:46

like a good friendship thing going? For sure. I really

1:00:49

like that friendship. And I like that

1:00:51

not every friendship in the story between

1:00:54

a male character and a female character

1:00:56

has to end up them being a fucking love story.

1:00:59

I like my favorite thing. I like that

1:01:01

they're able to be, you know,

1:01:03

friends and cool with each other and both kind

1:01:05

of communally rip on Jay. I should

1:01:07

say that a lot of people.

1:01:10

Thought Jay was gay. They thought he was gay. They

1:01:12

thought him and Ambridge were gay.

1:01:14

And I never got that from them.

1:01:16

I always thought of that fanfic. That's

1:01:19

the one I'm going to write. I always thought of it as like

1:01:21

a big brother, little brother situation.

1:01:23

Same. And actually, that's how I picked it up

1:01:25

from the beginning, because Jay was always so clumsy

1:01:27

and Ambridge was like, no, you fucking

1:01:30

dumbass. This is what we're doing. And I was like,

1:01:32

I've got some friends. You had

1:01:33

no idea. It's like the undertone. It's like a Dean

1:01:36

Martin and Jerry Lewis thing. You

1:01:38

were Dean Martin. No, but my

1:01:40

thing is it was it. I

1:01:42

thought I was setting up

1:01:44

the Kylie thing from like season three,

1:01:46

like because he starts talking to Kylie.

1:01:49

Ambridge starts hanging out with Mia. Yeah. And

1:01:51

then like

1:01:52

while Jay is hanging out with Kylie, they kind

1:01:54

of bond a little bit. Then she leaves with them

1:01:56

like she's like, yeah, I'll join you. I don't have anybody I'm

1:01:58

waiting for.

1:01:59

them and then they've had talks throughout like her

1:02:02

and Jay like this little teasing back and forth

1:02:04

that finally I was like alright let's kind of seal

1:02:06

the deal with these two and some

1:02:09

people one person did message

1:02:11

and say like yeah I've been shipping them from the

1:02:13

beginning kind of thing so that's cool but

1:02:16

it was just funny when people thought that I was like oh I didn't

1:02:18

really I didn't realize like I was writing it

1:02:20

kind of like that yeah I saw like that but other people

1:02:23

did so so something to see from ambridge

1:02:26

maybe some purpose finally

1:02:29

yeah you know like he's kind of just been

1:02:31

like I'm here to help everybody I'll help

1:02:33

everybody that's around me

1:02:35

even if he doesn't do anything I don't really get cared

1:02:37

but like some kind of like okay this

1:02:39

is what I want because the military for me

1:02:41

for him is always just like you're following orders

1:02:44

you following orders shit goes wrong you're following

1:02:46

orders everybody gets in trouble okay

1:02:48

come with me I'll protect everybody and

1:02:50

he's never really been other than going

1:02:52

to his parents house which was on the way yeah

1:02:54

he's never really been like this

1:02:56

is what I want

1:02:58

yeah he dropped

1:03:00

he dropped like kind of everything he wanted

1:03:02

to stay in Denver but then left

1:03:04

with Jay because of the

1:03:06

promise he kind of made

1:03:09

and the need to think that if Jay left

1:03:12

out there by himself and he got killed

1:03:14

and be like I let the

1:03:16

poor little fella go and he died

1:03:19

I did it I did that

1:03:21

yeah

1:03:24

so I mean there's

1:03:27

gonna be some character growth with

1:03:29

like all the main characters and then we're introducing

1:03:31

some new characters and

1:03:33

spoilers what

1:03:35

I'm not saying what the characters are or

1:03:37

what they are but somebody somewhere else

1:03:39

not listening to season six new character not with

1:03:41

new characters

1:03:44

and we did kill off some characters like

1:03:46

some side characters in season five finale

1:03:49

and Mia had a rough go of it so

1:03:51

we'll see how that pans out in the next season

1:03:53

I

1:03:55

know some people were upset when Roger died

1:03:57

I know you guys know a lot about Roger but Roger died

1:04:00

with like in Mia's

1:04:04

group. And that was like a little more

1:04:06

sad than I thought it'd be for some people. Raj.

1:04:09

Yeah. Or a roll Raj. But,

1:04:13

you know, sometimes you got to kill off some characters,

1:04:15

make room for new ones. Want to make it a homelie. You

1:04:17

got to break some eggs. That's true. We're not going

1:04:19

to like

1:04:20

George R.R. Martin, this thing. I

1:04:22

haven't main characters die every

1:04:25

episode, but every once in a while, somebody's got to die.

1:04:28

So, yeah. I guess

1:04:30

that's you looked at hope for a long

1:04:32

time after he said that. Yeah. Who's

1:04:34

the next to go? Who

1:04:37

knows? No spoilers. Oh,

1:04:39

my gosh. I guess that's it for

1:04:41

this finale. I'm trying to think if there's anything else

1:04:44

we missed.

1:04:46

And that's all my notes. It's all my

1:04:48

note. There are some side stories coming up for this,

1:04:50

right? Oh, yeah. So if

1:04:53

you're on Patreon, if you're on the it's

1:04:55

seven dollars a month, but it's the six

1:04:57

lamb tier six

1:04:59

lamb. That one has

1:05:02

one of our little lambs. Bonus

1:05:05

shows like side stories for End

1:05:07

of All Hope, the Denver Falls,

1:05:09

which is a prequel with Kylie and

1:05:11

Mia.

1:05:12

That one's five episodes

1:05:15

and they're all out right now. Then

1:05:16

we're also writing a another one

1:05:18

called Lake Isabella, which is going to follow

1:05:21

Ryan at Lake Isabella,

1:05:24

which is played by one of my best friends,

1:05:26

Ryan. So and that's a four

1:05:28

part series. Please be very rough

1:05:31

on Ryan and his performance. Yeah. Let

1:05:33

him know what you really think heavily.

1:05:35

Also, Hope loves that, too. Like

1:05:37

if you dislike anything that she does,

1:05:40

that's true.

1:05:40

I always ask. Just

1:05:43

don't read reviews. Don't read reviews. I

1:05:45

stop reading reviews. So they do write me things to me. They

1:05:47

say they write about everyone. Yeah.

1:05:49

Everybody. Especially me.

1:05:51

They have said they've said bad stuff

1:05:54

about Jack. They've said bad stuff about my writing.

1:05:56

Bad things about Jack that I'm. They

1:05:59

said bad things. about Robert's writing, one lady

1:06:01

on Twitter wanted to give Rob a free lesson

1:06:04

in hell. Yeah, right. Oh, it's

1:06:06

always funny, though, because so mean. I've

1:06:08

never seen because they're sitting behind

1:06:11

their phone. That's why they're so mean. But the thing

1:06:13

is with the writing, the way I think of it is

1:06:15

I kind of write differently for everyone.

1:06:18

And sometimes I wish I could take a picture. Sometimes

1:06:21

I do make a mistake. Like

1:06:23

all that's my favorite grammatical errors

1:06:25

or whatever. Like maybe this and whatever

1:06:27

it is. I you know, it's wrong. But

1:06:29

also sometimes I do it on purpose because

1:06:32

I'm

1:06:32

it's the way somebody's talking or if it's

1:06:34

in their head, like it doesn't have to be grammatically

1:06:37

right. Yeah. No, I don't agree

1:06:40

because, yeah, you everybody that's

1:06:42

listening to this right now is either

1:06:44

guilty of or know somebody who

1:06:47

has major grammatical errors every

1:06:49

time they open their mouth. And sometimes

1:06:51

if everybody is written perfectly

1:06:54

in their dialogue, it doesn't make it doesn't sound

1:06:56

right. And that's why when I'm

1:06:58

doing it and I'm sure when you do it, you don't

1:07:00

want to sound like you're acting right.

1:07:03

You

1:07:03

don't want to sound like you're reading. Right.

1:07:05

Yeah. Yeah. Well, no, no, you don't

1:07:07

sound like you're. No, for me, I don't even want to sound

1:07:09

like I'm acting. I sound like if I'm talking real person

1:07:12

like this. So if I'm acting this, I'm

1:07:14

going to talk normally. Right. I don't want to be

1:07:16

like. And then I would

1:07:18

speak into the microphone and tell you

1:07:21

because it's like you people see right through

1:07:23

it.

1:07:23

And that's something Robert says to me all the time is I'll be

1:07:25

like, I would never say this. Yeah. It's

1:07:28

not you. I know it's Ava. It's

1:07:30

Ava. It's not you. I say it all the time. I'm like, I would

1:07:32

never say this. But sometimes I give like

1:07:35

Ava like bigger words, which I wouldn't

1:07:37

give to other characters that were maybe

1:07:39

like, you know, because of issues. Yeah.

1:07:41

That like there's just different thing like that. You're not

1:07:43

always going to speak perfect English in your

1:07:46

head when you're narrating something that's

1:07:48

happening. So that's why sometimes I just write it

1:07:50

kind of like just

1:07:51

like free, like, oh, this is what they would say. And,

1:07:53

you know, every once in a while, maybe I make a mistake.

1:07:56

But sometimes I put that in there like actually it's

1:07:59

Ava.

1:07:59

I went to the store and I'm like, that's great.

1:08:02

But this this little girl who's 16 is

1:08:04

going to say me and Ava went here. Or like

1:08:06

Ava and me or whatever, you know. So

1:08:08

thank you so much for your. I appreciate

1:08:11

it. Anytime you give us that, we sit

1:08:13

and have a session where we just sit and

1:08:15

talk about your your thoughts. And

1:08:18

I do want to point out one more thing just to

1:08:20

make it a little touchy subject. Well,

1:08:23

we hire actors. Yes. We hire

1:08:25

people

1:08:26

we don't that are first class. Sure.

1:08:29

Sure. But we don't ever, ever

1:08:32

ask people their race, their

1:08:34

orientation, good Lord or anything.

1:08:37

We just ask them if they can fit this

1:08:39

role. Like usually it's like, is it a deep

1:08:41

voice or light lighter voice? And we've

1:08:43

had some we've had some comments recently

1:08:46

that everybody in our show

1:08:48

are all of our shows are white.

1:08:50

Yeah. And it's so funny

1:08:53

because we look at all of our actors and

1:08:55

we had actually just posted something like a day

1:08:57

before. And it's a very, very

1:09:00

eclectic group. But no, we do not

1:09:02

cast anybody based on their race

1:09:05

or their looks. We put their voice on

1:09:07

there and we let you imagine they are whatever

1:09:10

you think they are, which is the purpose of

1:09:12

the audio drama. It's like a book. Yeah. When

1:09:14

you read the book, unless you are specifically told

1:09:16

something, that person looks exactly

1:09:19

how you want them to look. I would say out

1:09:21

of all the stories that we've written

1:09:23

and stuff like that, maybe 10 times that I ever mentioned

1:09:25

somebody being maybe like pale or like having

1:09:28

darker skin or having a sunburn or something

1:09:30

like that. Most of the time, it's like this person has curly

1:09:32

hair,

1:09:32

straight hair, short hair, no hair like

1:09:35

that. And that's basically or like a crooked

1:09:37

nose, something that could be anybody. Yeah. Because

1:09:39

I don't want to like. Or when you when you described,

1:09:42

Amber, you were like, this guy is the

1:09:44

spitting image of Doc Brown from back

1:09:46

to the. Yes. Yeah. And you can see that. And

1:09:48

I was like, I'm going to put this as part

1:09:51

of the performance. That way, anytime anything happens.

1:09:53

Yeah, that's who you. Marty. Marty. Yeah.

1:09:56

Great Scott.

1:09:58

But that's the thing is like.

1:09:59

We don't even discuss sexual orientation to

1:10:02

most of them, but there are some gay characters. There are some

1:10:04

bi characters in some of our shows. And

1:10:06

it's just one of those things that I'm not gonna ask

1:10:08

an actor

1:10:09

if they're gay or bi, if they're playing the character. Cause

1:10:11

I don't care. I think a bi character can play a

1:10:13

straight character. I think a gay character can play

1:10:16

a straight character and vice versa. I just, we

1:10:18

hire people. I don't like to get into that.

1:10:20

I don't want to out anybody. I just want to

1:10:22

be like, hey, this character is this. Do

1:10:25

you want to play it? And they send in an

1:10:27

audition. We try them out. They sound good.

1:10:30

We cast them. So anybody who

1:10:32

has issues with that, we're sorry, but like we're not.

1:10:34

I personally am not sorry. We're

1:10:37

sorry. Like you feel that way, but we're

1:10:39

not sorry. We do it. Again, I am

1:10:41

not sorry. But it's just

1:10:44

one of those things where we get that from like all

1:10:46

over. There's like different people who just get upset

1:10:48

about that. And I just think it's interesting. I'll say the same thing to

1:10:50

you that I say to my children when they're bored,

1:10:53

use your imagination. Yeah. Yeah.

1:10:56

Imagine whatever you want for any of the characters.

1:10:59

I really don't care. Exactly. And you'll be

1:11:01

just fine.

1:11:02

Yeah. Oh, what else is there? So we

1:11:04

got the Patreon side stories. You can go

1:11:06

on there. Lake Isabella side stories should be out.

1:11:09

I don't know. Like the first episode will probably

1:11:11

be out within a month or so, but we're

1:11:14

hoping to have all four episodes out this year. And

1:11:16

then we'll have some more side stories. And then season six,

1:11:18

we're not sure when that'll start releasing, but

1:11:20

we've already got several episodes written. Nope.

1:11:23

Nope. But we start to record

1:11:26

a bunch of people and then get

1:11:27

to edit them. So that's how they are. I might have already

1:11:29

recorded. I know. Maybe for a couple

1:11:31

episodes already. Is it easier

1:11:33

to like have like the main

1:11:35

people record versus like

1:11:38

finding new people to voice new characters?

1:11:40

The new characters are, I think a little harder. Is

1:11:42

the new character harder? Because you never know how they're

1:11:45

going to send you the file to be edited. You don't know

1:11:47

what they're going to do. And it's easier for main

1:11:49

characters because he's in the

1:11:51

room with me more often than not to go,

1:11:53

okay, please say it like this or. He

1:11:56

says please. No, I never

1:11:58

say he does not. I'm just.

1:11:59

trying to make him say read it better no

1:12:02

no no he doesn't say read it better either but he's trying

1:12:04

to rain me in because I he'll be

1:12:06

like all right please be

1:12:11

serious on this take okay

1:12:14

and you're gonna read it perfectly and you're not gonna have any mistakes

1:12:16

I do every

1:12:18

time all right don't make one mistake in

1:12:20

this voice and I'll go to be Gavin I'll

1:12:22

be like hey guys yeah yeah hey you know

1:12:25

I'm a

1:12:28

strict director at least I'm not like Alfred Hitchcock

1:12:30

or Kubrick making you do 75 takes

1:12:33

yeah you do sometimes but read it better

1:12:35

where I go this was perfect it was

1:12:38

well and that like I said because of all the characters we have

1:12:44

now it is kind of nice that

1:12:47

you don't have to sit there for like

1:12:49

two hours in the recording booth doing so

1:12:51

much like each

1:12:54

of the voiceovers because other than the season five

1:12:56

finale you haven't had like a ton

1:12:58

yeah it's not like a whole page anymore you know other

1:13:01

than the season five finale you did have a lot but you

1:13:04

know the last couple times you come in to record it's

1:13:06

not as much and I know I get to like flip

1:13:08

through yeah whole scenes well

1:13:11

I'm like who these people

1:13:13

who cares they're not part of a

1:13:15

story

1:13:17

yes something's wrong

1:13:19

this page does not have a

1:13:22

I know I think when I first started and I was

1:13:24

like I'm scrolling a lot here

1:13:26

yeah yeah but you should like that I

1:13:29

do you don't even want to come record I'm

1:13:31

just someone who likes to complain I know I

1:13:34

get that you're one of those it's a personality

1:13:36

trait all right well I guess that's

1:13:38

that does it for this episode it

1:13:41

does season five recap we

1:13:43

want to thank everybody who listens we appreciate

1:13:45

you guys sticking around for this long maybe you just listened

1:13:48

like you just found end of all hope you all listen in like

1:13:51

two months but there's something

1:13:53

wrong with these people yeah they're taking forever to

1:13:56

release too but people who

1:13:58

have been around since the beginning

1:14:00

You know we're slow with releases and that we're and

1:14:02

things we got born you also

1:14:05

know that we love you Yeah, we love

1:14:07

you too. We appreciate it If

1:14:09

you can donate we appreciate that too But you don't

1:14:11

1:14:18

1:14:20

Facebook Follow us so Facebook Instagram

1:14:25

and Twitter at seven lamb podcasts.

1:14:28

That's what the nest at the end

1:14:29

Are you doing a bloopers a

1:14:31

blooper blooper? I'm

1:14:33

like, what did I say blooper? He said blooper.

1:14:36

It sounded weird bloopers. Yeah,

1:14:38

there's blooper There's end of all hope bloopers. I know I'm

1:14:42

Please am I on there? Oh,

1:14:44

yeah, you probably got to edit me a lot.

1:14:46

Yeah, actually if you all

1:14:49

the cussing I think there's bloopers for the first

1:14:52

four seasons on patreon and

1:14:55

then I Think

1:14:58

also yours and my first recording

1:15:01

hope It's like

1:15:03

our first Recording is on patreon

1:15:06

too. Yeah, so

1:15:09

Just for fun just so people can see like

1:15:11

how our first recording how we yell at each other. Yes

1:15:14

All right. Well, I guess that does it for

1:15:17

this episode people in oh, there

1:15:19

you go All right, so time to leave. Thanks

1:15:21

everyone for listening and we'll

1:15:23

have more stuff out Hopefully very

1:15:26

soon Bye guys

1:15:57

This has been a seven lime

1:16:00

production.

1:16:06

Hey everyone! I'm Joe. And I'm

1:16:08

Trace. And we're the Horror Queers. Every

1:16:11

week we do a deep dive into a different horror film

1:16:13

and look at it through a queer lens. This could

1:16:15

mean pointing out queer creatives that worked on

1:16:17

the film. Or applying a queer reading to some

1:16:19

of your favorite horror movie characters. Episodes

1:16:22

can be serious and academic. Or fun

1:16:24

and frivolous. It depends on the movie! And no

1:16:26

movie is off-limits. The film could have explicit

1:16:28

queer themes. A high camp quotient.

1:16:31

Or both. Or not at all! We

1:16:34

believe that representation matters. And since

1:16:36

queer folks haven't always had the best representation,

1:16:39

we are here to help fix that. So what are you waiting

1:16:41

for? Subscribe today to start getting your weekly

1:16:43

dose of queer horror. Horror Queers,

1:16:46
