1:05

to the Fantasy Footballers DFS

1:08

and Vetting Podcast with your

1:10

hosts Kyle Borgannoni and Matthew

1:13

Betts. Welcome

1:32

back February

1:34

2nd here on the Fantasy Footballers

1:37

DFS and Vetting Podcast. I'm your

1:39

host Kyle Borgannoni and I

1:41

am joined as always by Matthew second

1:44

place Betts. Dude,

1:47

what the heck man. Paint

1:49

first, you're last. As far

1:51

as I'm concerned that's how we play in

1:54

Fantasy and DFS. And there's

1:56

only one winner and sadly

1:59

the votes are in. and it was not this show.

2:01

So we told people, look, if

2:03

you can't vote and we don't

2:05

get it, corporate is going to shut down this

2:07

podcast, so we just wanted to let everyone know

2:09

this is the last episode you'll hear of the

2:11

DFS embedding podcasts. It's been a

2:13

fun ride though, so moving on. Yeah, I mean, early

2:16

retirement for me, I mean a podcaster,

2:18

the arc of a

2:20

podcaster, mid 30s usually, so I'm at

2:23

that spot, looking really good retirement age.

2:26

Don't really know my career war, you know,

2:28

how much output I've really given, but it's been a good

2:30

run. Yeah,

2:32

guys, we got second place for those podcast

2:34

wars, which, hey, silver medal, we actually did

2:36

get a silver award. So apparently

2:39

we're doing okay, and

2:41

you're supposed to find silver linings, you're supposed to

2:43

do all these other things, but yeah,

2:48

it was a stomach punch right before we recorded, but

2:51

we are excited to still preview

2:53

the Superbowl, talk about some

2:55

early best ball because there's degenerate people that talk about

2:58

it right now in early February,

3:01

and the most anticipated

3:03

moment of the year, the

3:05

DFS awards. Those will be coming out later.

3:07

Oh, baby. They've been talking

3:09

about them. I mean, in the media, on Twitter, like

3:11

it's chat rooms. It's the talk of a town right

3:14

now. The chat rooms, the online chat rooms. Just

3:17

very deep. It's the big topic right now. You

3:20

know, you have the Superbowl, but then it's like,

3:22

oh yeah, we'll also be having the DFS awards,

3:24

you know, which is equally as important. So yeah,

3:27

man, fun show. There's

3:29

a lot of, I mean, we do a lot

3:31

of extensive research, a lot for the show. And

3:34

we've found that AOL chat rooms are

3:37

still a thing that create a buzz. There's

3:40

a buzz in the air for the DFS awards

3:42

when you go to local chat rooms. Because

3:45

I remember back in the day, AOL, my cousin was like

3:47

the first one, around

3:49

me that had AOL, and he'd go in

3:51

his little Atlanta-based chat room, and he'd say,

3:54

ASL, like how, what's your age,

3:56

sex, location, where you from? And

3:58

then we'd make up stuff, because... we were little

4:00

10 year olds just on the

4:02

computer just farting around with our little dumb screen

4:04

names. Great little

4:06

rabbit trail there by the way. Dude,

4:08

what's sad is that there's probably people listening right now

4:11

that don't even know what we're talking about. Which

4:14

means you're old. Which means that

4:16

the internet is, it's

4:19

just part of their life. But yeah, I

4:21

remember going on my dad's computer and saying can I

4:23

get on a computer? And he would say no, we

4:26

were on the phone right now. You may not do this, we

4:29

will talk later. So

4:31

90s was a good time. I feel

4:33

like every single group has

4:36

something that they feel really special to them.

4:39

And then you hear everybody else kind of poke

4:41

fun. Like oh, you guys aren't even old enough.

4:43

Like hey, I couldn't control that, all right? Blaming

4:45

on my parents when I was born. But

4:48

90s was a really good time. It was a really good time for sports

4:50

for me. I know my room was decked

4:52

out in every single, every

4:54

single team possible. I think I've showed you that

4:56

photo before, Bets. But my middle

4:59

school, high school bedroom was just, there was no white

5:01

space on the wall. It was not allowed. And

5:03

if you named an athlete, I probably had them on my

5:05

wall except for any Yankee. I

5:08

was gonna say, I've seen it and what's

5:10

hilarious is, Kyle's not joking,

5:12

literally, corner to corner of every wall

5:15

is a poster of some sort. So there's zero,

5:17

you can't see any of the paint in the

5:19

room. It's just posters, which I was the same

5:21

way. I mean all the studs of the 90s

5:23

were up there for me

5:25

as well. So fun time to be a 90s

5:27

kid. Yeah, it was

5:29

great. On this episode, like we

5:32

mentioned, Best Ball Surprises, we're gonna talk through some

5:34

of those Super Bowl Preview DFS

5:36

awards. Let's talk

5:38

about some early standouts. So there are

5:40

people out there and

5:43

they are sick, sick

5:45

individuals. Really, really gross.

5:48

I for one am appalled that

5:50

we're even talking to this group of people. But

5:53

we do love them because they love Best Ball and

5:55

they love the fact that the season

5:57

ended and Underdog said, hey, I bet there's enough

5:59

people. people out there that will draft

6:01

in January and February. And you can see

6:04

ADP changes. So that's, I think, what bets

6:06

that I are most curious about. I

6:08

personally don't play a lot of best ball until

6:10

after the NFL draft. If

6:12

you have volume, you can get an edge, but I

6:15

like knowing where players are going. So I hate drafting

6:18

certain rookies in January

6:20

where they end up being a six-round pick

6:22

and they're irrelevant. So we'll talk

6:24

about that more in where

6:26

things changes. But any early standouts

6:29

from Underdog's early drafts?

6:32

Yeah, I will just say, first off, if you

6:34

are one of these people, I'm with you.

6:37

I'm happy to admit it. I did a draft, Kyle,

6:39

because I wanted to see where people

6:41

were going, kind of how people were building, and

6:43

how to go about it. So I am one

6:45

of the sick individuals out there. But yes, there

6:47

are tournaments available. And like, dude, so they have

6:49

the big board and the little board, just different

6:52

entry costs and it's a tournament

6:54

like Underdog usually has. But

6:56

I was looking before I started recording, already

6:58

about 19% filled. And this

7:00

thing released like three days ago. So it's so crazy to

7:02

me to see what best ball was when

7:04

we first started talking about it, you know, two

7:06

or three years ago. It's what it is now.

7:09

It is unreal. But there is

7:11

an edge, I think, and there's two edges. Right

7:13

now, I think that the

7:15

hardest thing to do is to target guys, specific

7:17

players of say, this is a great pick. It's

7:20

very easy, I think, to say this is

7:22

probably a pretty bad pick. And we're gonna

7:24

talk about some of those today on the

7:26

show, specifically veterans who are likely to be

7:28

changing teams or who have shown very

7:31

obvious signs of decline, where

7:33

you can see a change in the backfield, you

7:35

can see someone joining the backfield, the takeaway touches, you

7:38

can see scenarios like that, where the player just isn't

7:40

what they used to be. And those are

7:42

gonna be the guys that I try to avoid, I will say the

7:44

edge that I think exists right now. And if you are willing to

7:46

be, you know, a true nerd

7:48

in your mom's basement and figure out some

7:50

of the NFL draft prospects in terms of

7:52

who is probably going to go higher, meaning

7:55

you're not wasting a pick on a sixth round guy or a seventh

7:57

round undrafted guy, but like guys are gonna be going higher and higher.

8:00

I'm gonna go round one, round two, maybe round three, and

8:02

targeting them in round 16, 17, 18, 19, there

8:06

is a little bit of an edge in that right now. So

8:08

I have done some drafts and there's some pretty good values I

8:10

like. Sorry for my long

8:13

winded way of saying I'm with the sick of

8:15

this, but the first one that stuck out to me, Kyle, and this

8:17

is not gonna shock you, is Trey McBride

8:19

coming off the board at tight end eight. Who?

8:22

Yet you know him, Kyle, Trey McBride.

8:24

Arizona card with tight end. He's never in the war

8:26

on this show. Oh, is he today? Boiler,

8:29

come on, man. Just

8:31

to me is kind of mind boggling. When you look at the

8:33

end of season run that he had, where he

8:36

really was a true difference maker at the position, and

8:38

we talked about it a lot in our DFS previews

8:41

of saying, look, this guy is being used as their

8:43

wide receiver one. They are scheming targets to him. He's

8:45

athletic after the catch. Just everything you look for in

8:48

a difference maker. I see Trey McBride closing by the

8:50

time we get to June, July, August

8:52

as like tight end three, tight end four off

8:54

the board, maybe somewhere in that range. So

8:57

at tight end eight right now, I'm trying to get all the Trey McBride I

8:59

can. One of the, I

9:02

think, best things to explain to people

9:04

is that early ADP will

9:06

basically follow fantasy finishes. Like, oh, we

9:08

just saw this player finish as a

9:10

top 10 running back or whatever. They're

9:12

gonna be pretty close to that. And

9:15

there's some exceptions, like Garrett Wilson is

9:18

still being drafted very, very high despite

9:20

having a wildly inefficient season, but

9:22

he also has the most targets ever through two

9:24

seasons. So you kind of see those

9:26

things shape up I know

9:28

a player that I'm in on and

9:31

you're out on the same backfield. Like I'm very

9:33

in on Kendray Miller, who when

9:36

we started this was running back. Fantasy

9:39

five! He's already gone up to running

9:41

back 49 and I still love that

9:43

price. And you mentioned this on the Dynasty

9:45

podcast, but like the numbers

9:47

do not look good for Alvin

9:50

Kamara's career arc. And right now RB

9:52

14 feels like such a high price to

9:54

pay. Yes, he had a high floor this past year, but

9:57

I feel like you're paying for what he's done in

9:59

the past and what he- what you think he is

10:01

without thinking about decline. So he seems like an obvious

10:03

person to just fade at RB 14. Easy,

10:06

yeah, this is the name I put on the list is, I

10:09

just can't fathom that ADP. Him

10:11

and Eclor, both, Eclor right now, RB 16, make

10:14

zero sense to me. I mean, you wanna

10:16

talk about early edges, it just, can

10:19

you see a scenario where Alvin Kamara is the

10:21

pick you need at that ADP? I

10:23

really struggle with it, right, man? This also is a

10:26

situation where, and I'm not sure how likely it is,

10:28

but we're doing some work right now in

10:30

the Dynasty Pass, which by the way, that comes out on Super Bowl

10:32

Sunday. Kyle and I are working

10:34

through every team's opportunity, their contract situations, their

10:36

cap space, how many draft picks they have,

10:39

all that sort of stuff, which I love doing. And

10:41

man, the Saints are in a really bad situation financially.

10:44

They're dead last in available cap space entering

10:46

next year. I think they probably

10:48

move on from Michael Thomas or

10:50

restructure his contract, and possibly move

10:53

on from Alvin Kamara, save a ton of

10:55

money or restructure his contract, which is why

10:57

I'm in on Kendra Miller. I'm out on

10:59

Alvin Kamara, and you mentioned the efficiency stuff.

11:01

His yards per target has declined in four

11:03

straight seasons, yards after contact per

11:05

attempt, some of the stuff with next gen stats, the

11:08

rushing yards over expected. He was one of the worst

11:10

in football. Alvin Kamara was last year, so yeah,

11:12

RB 14, no, thank you. Yeah,

11:15

and Kendra Miller's only gonna keep rising. Like I could see

11:17

him end up being a top 36 back by

11:20

the time we get to August, and just the hype and

11:23

everything else, it looks good. So

11:25

we talked about all of those players on the Dynasty podcast.

11:28

I love Kyler Murray's price at QB 13. Hey,

11:31

it's back on the tray. I know, it

11:33

just feels so easy at this price point right

11:35

now where I think you're gonna have to pay

11:37

a much higher price for both of, or for that sack later

11:39

on, but QB 13 is kind of

11:41

silly. When he returned, he was the QB

11:43

nine, all right? So there's a

11:45

little bit of edge already. I think we could say, you

11:47

know, if Marvin Harrison Jr. goes there, there's a little bit

11:49

more upside. I mean, the wide receivers were

11:52

dust across the board. I don't expect

11:54

Hollywood Brown to return, but I like

11:56

that value early on at quarterback. I'll

11:59

give you two players. that I'm out on really quickly

12:01

DJ Moore you are paying for

12:04

what he did this pasture which is his

12:06

first really big outlier year that was better

12:08

than wide receiver 18 he had

12:11

some crazy splits if you look between Justin

12:13

Fields games and Tyson Vageant games and

12:15

19% of his points came in one week

12:17

which we love that in basketball but

12:20

last year we were paying a different price it

12:22

was wide receiver 19 ADP wide receiver

12:24

9 right now feels too

12:26

rich for what he's doing so I'm out on

12:28

DJ Moore I'm also out on Rashad

12:30

white but I've been that way for really

12:33

a year so I loved him in basketball last

12:35

year I wrote a whole article about him because

12:37

he was going way late and I like the

12:39

value I don't like paying RB 10 price he's

12:42

gonna be a dead zone running back that I don't

12:44

want and his efficiency numbers were

12:46

terrible and I'll explain that more later

12:48

because I'm writing an article on efficiency and

12:51

he is one of the big red flags for me

12:53

for 2024 so I'm out on DJ Moore and

12:56

out on Rashad white yeah

12:58

and every player you know there's a point where you

13:00

draft him right it's like hey Rashad white's gonna go

13:02

in round eight round nine sure

13:05

but right now that's not the case and that's where he was

13:07

last year so makes a ton of sense I'll just give you

13:09

quickly give some love to Christian Kirk

13:11

coming off the board at wide receiver 38

13:13

I don't really ever see

13:15

a season where Christian Kirk is like you

13:18

know the wide receiver 8 in fantasy

13:20

or something like that but I

13:22

try right now to get guys that I think are going to

13:24

beat their ADP and I think Christian Kirk is a good bet

13:26

to do that especially when you look

13:28

at where I think his ADP is going to

13:30

close considering the Jaguars current situation so obviously

13:33

Christian Kirk is there he's been there for a couple

13:35

years on a pretty big contract they just signed Evan

13:37

Ingram to an extension cover Lawrence has

13:39

a huge extension coming somewhat quickly in

13:41

the next year or two and

13:44

Calvin Ridley is a free agent and

13:46

they can move on from Zay Jones and save some

13:48

decent money against the cap this offseason

13:50

so one way or another I think the

13:52

situation as far as just target share where

13:54

what's available for Christian Kirk is going to

13:57

be there for him and you know you

13:59

missed some some of the games down the stretch because of

14:01

the core muscle injury, but this is a player

14:03

who still averaged 2.07 yards

14:05

per out run, very good number for a wide receiver. And

14:08

before the injury, he was 22nd among wide

14:10

receivers in yards per game and

14:14

23rd in targets per game. So you're getting a

14:16

player who's probably gonna give you more volume, more

14:18

production than his current price. Another guy

14:20

I'm out on just real quickly on it is from

14:22

the injury perspective, is TJ Hockinson, who

14:24

just had surgery on Monday of this week.

14:26

So you're talking about a skill position player

14:30

that's not going to be ready at 100% for training camp. Questionable

14:33

if he's ready for week one, is

14:36

he 100% in October, November, hard to

14:38

say. So it tightened to 11, tough

14:41

for me to get there on TJ Hockinson. Yeah,

14:44

we're gonna be giving best ball takes all

14:46

summer long. That's what we talk about a

14:48

lot on the podcast and it's what we

14:50

have in the DFS pass. Our best ball rankings

14:53

go live June 1st. However,

14:55

you can get access to a lot of our

14:57

content in the DFS pass if you get it

15:00

early. And right now, if you

15:02

wanna pre-order for Super Bowl Sunday, we get

15:04

to release the Dynasty Pass. All

15:08

of our betting content, so Betts and I

15:10

will have some NFL Draft prop content that

15:12

we have through March, through April,

15:15

you can get all of that. So it's

15:17

kind of this turning of the page right now.

15:19

We have this podcast this week and the next week

15:21

we will preview the Super Bowl from a DFS. I

15:24

mean, we're gonna go through every single angle, give you

15:26

some fun weird props too. We're

15:29

about to turn the page. So if you're one of those people that

15:31

got the DFS pass this past year, we're

15:33

super grateful that you supported us, but we're giving you

15:35

a heads up now that it's

15:38

about to change. If you're one of those people that got in on the

15:40

free, free playoffs,

15:42

free DFS, that's awesome. The

15:44

Discord access for DFS

15:47

pass members is about to change over once

15:49

we get past the Super Bowl. So if you're a Foot Clan member,

15:52

you get to keep on keeping on. But the

15:54

only ones that actually get in is you have to be a UDK

15:56

plus member for 2024. So

15:59

you need to get in. on that, make sure you

16:01

pre-order early and you can keep chatting with

16:03

us, keep being in those conversations. So,

16:06

dfspass.com, if you want to be a part of

16:08

that. Let's talk about

16:10

the Super Bowl. State

16:15

of the main slate. I

16:18

hit that drop throughout the year

16:20

and I say, oh, we got a 10 game slate.

16:23

It's one, one game, one big game

16:25

for all of the

16:27

marblespets. Let's

16:29

talk about this game from a top down preview.

16:34

We're going to refrain from giving dfs takes.

16:36

I've looked at the salaries, I've

16:38

ran a couple of optimals, I have

16:40

a couple early thoughts that I might throw in, but we're going

16:42

to save all of that for next week. I think if

16:45

you start twiddling around with lineups right now,

16:48

you're going to drive yourself crazy thinking of every single

16:50

player you're going to be like, wow, Noah Gray.

16:53

He's 1.8. That's a lot of salary

16:55

savings on DraftKings if I put him in the flex. What

16:58

could I do with that salary? Then you start going down the rabbit

17:00

hole of why am I thinking so

17:02

much about Noah Gray in a game where he

17:05

might get one reception? Don't

17:08

go too far, but let's talk about this game, Betts. Give me

17:10

the line as of this recording. Yeah,

17:12

I've actually seen this move a little bit in the last day or two.

17:16

Right now, I'm seeing a lot of San Francisco

17:18

minus two. I've seen some

17:20

minus two and a half out there, which is actually

17:22

where the line opened. It went from two and a

17:25

half down to two, down

17:27

to one and a half, back up to two, now back up to two

17:29

and a half, which tells you, Kyle,

17:31

and this may shock you, that the line

17:33

is probably right. It's already

17:35

being bet on both sides. It's

17:39

interesting. I've seen right now the total

17:41

is about 47, some 47 and a half out there

17:43

in the market. Yeah,

17:47

I look at a line and my first

17:49

gut reaction is always like, ooh, I feel

17:51

like this is off by half a point.

17:53

This is where I could take advantage of

17:56

the over-under. 47 is a good

17:59

number, my early lean. Is that I

18:01

do like the under and Chiefs games have kind

18:03

of been playing like this for a while that

18:05

they slow things down It

18:07

was weird because we got an over 50 total

18:10

for the Niners and Lions game and

18:12

I kind of win against Convention all

18:14

year. I'm gonna get the model dude. I

18:17

know and I and it hit it Felt like

18:19

a game that you could see the back and forth,

18:22

but I don't know like I my early take is I kind

18:24

of like the under Yeah, I

18:26

kind of do too. You mentioned the Chiefs and how they've

18:28

played They are 14 and

18:30

6 to the under this year and

18:33

when you think about kind of just how this

18:35

offense is morphed where you know

18:37

This is an offense that in past years with

18:39

Tyree kill and Kelceen is prime Which

18:41

is put up points left and right and

18:44

now they've got the ability with Pat Mahomes and

18:46

Isaiah Pacheco Where Mahomes is

18:48

kind of just thinking and dunking his way down the field Pacheco

18:51

is picking up four five six yards of carry and

18:53

they're kind of just sustaining drives taking Five

18:55

six seven minutes off the clock whenever they want to the

18:58

only other side to San Francisco this year was

19:00

dead last neutral pace Also,

19:02

by the way sidebar we had an

19:05

under nineteen and a half rush attempts not Christian

19:07

McCaffrey They fell behind by threes touchdowns and the

19:09

things still didn't cash That is how much Kyle

19:11

Shanahan is committed to the run So I

19:14

think he's gonna run no matter what and then you have the Chiefs who can

19:16

control the clock on the other side I struggle

19:18

to see a lot of play volume in this

19:20

game with like a back-and-forth affair and just for

19:22

context on that The Chiefs are

19:25

excuse me the Niners were 27th this year in

19:27

place per game So they have been an offense

19:29

that they need to and we talked about this

19:31

in our previews Like they need to hit on

19:33

big plays and efficiency to kind of explode for

19:35

DFS and I see a very similar outcome here

19:37

So I'm with you. I think the play volume is gonna be

19:39

low and I do lean to the under when

19:42

I look at these two teams I Look

19:45

at how they perform against the spread and

19:48

can city I think we've been talking about this for at least

19:50

the last two years It's like they weren't covering the spread at

19:52

the rate that you thought But

19:54

this is a different animal because it's Patrick

19:56

Mahomes as an underdog and

19:59

I think a lot of the public saw that last week

20:01

and said, man, if I'm getting Patrick Mahomes,

20:04

who's always been awesome on

20:06

the road, right? Like he's been a road warrior

20:08

throughout his career as a dog, then

20:11

this is something you need to jump on. Like as a dog, 10, one

20:14

and one against the spread in his career.

20:16

That's pretty wild. And then I look at the Niners, and

20:19

my first thought when I thought of the Niner C is like,

20:21

man, efficiency crazy. Brock Purdy,

20:23

best YPA season we've seen in a

20:25

long time. Deebo Samuel, Brandon and

20:27

I put up in elite yards per

20:29

outrun season. George Kittle was great. Christian

20:32

McCaffrey put up an all time season. They

20:34

were nine, nine and one against the spread. That

20:36

number shocked me when you shared that

20:39

earlier. And what it's telling me

20:41

is that early on, the

20:43

Chiefs seem like a team that

20:45

I would want to invest in, especially if it gets up to

20:47

three. Oh, for sure. And

20:49

I actually think the money line is an interesting play. Just, we

20:51

don't really give like sides and totals betting as like,

20:54

this is our hard and past advice. We do it

20:56

for fun sometimes, because

20:59

as you know, it's very tough to beat. But I

21:01

just think about the way these teams are playing, right? When

21:03

you think about the Chiefs, they

21:05

played very well against the Dolphins. They played very

21:07

well against the Bills. They came

21:09

out last week, played great against the

21:12

Ravens. And the Niners truthfully

21:14

probably should have lost to the Packers. They probably

21:16

should have lost to the Lions. So they're kind

21:18

of, I don't want to say they're getting lucky,

21:20

because it's not luck. They're playing well

21:22

in the second half, but they are having to come

21:24

from behind. And we kind of saw that and not

21:26

to bring it to my Eagles, but like, there was

21:28

a time in the season where it was like, this

21:30

team can't be stopped, but they had to keep winning

21:32

from behind. And eventually that will run out. So I

21:34

just think about the way these teams are playing right

21:37

now. The Niners to me, I'm

21:39

just surprised that they're favored with

21:41

how, you know, Mahomes has played in his

21:43

career. Just, I

21:45

think it's a better coaching staff. They have more experience in

21:47

this spot. I think they have the

21:49

better quarterback over Brock Purdy, who Brock Purdy is

21:52

great, but he's not Patrick Mahomes. And

21:54

they've got the better defense, right? San Francisco really

21:56

struggling defensively. So to me, all signs point

21:58

to the Chiefs being. to decide that I would back if

22:00

I was gonna bet it, which I have

22:02

taken, I think I got it like plus 120 on

22:05

the Moneyline when it came out, when

22:07

it first opened. So I'm on the Chiefs this week. It

22:10

is wild that we've kind of gone through the

22:12

ebbs and flows with Patrick Mahomes this season. We've

22:15

had to separate different parts. And this is another

22:17

conversation that you and I bring up in the

22:19

off season is that you can

22:21

have different player takes about the

22:24

same player in about five or

22:26

six different markets or formats. You

22:28

can say that Patrick Mahomes is one

22:30

of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. You can

22:32

say that Patrick Mahomes running this offense

22:34

from a football standpoint, you know,

22:36

and you can give all your takes about what

22:38

he does and improvisation. You can say for fantasy,

22:41

he has not come through at

22:43

all this year. It's been one of the worst seasons

22:45

for him relative to what he's been doing. And

22:48

then you can look at it from a DFS perspective

22:50

and say, okay, well, here's this price point. Here's what

22:52

you need to pay. There's all these

22:55

conversations, right? Like you don't just

22:57

have to look at him and just have one thought. So

22:59

like, for instance, on DraftKings, he's 10-6 if

23:02

you use him in the flop. It's really

23:04

hard to walk away and not play one of

23:06

Purdy or Mahomes in this game in the flex

23:08

spot. And I'm probably playing Mahomes over

23:11

Purdy because of the defensive matchup. But all

23:13

of that to say, like you can have five or

23:15

six different takes about Mahomes and not

23:17

just say across the board, like, oh, I really, really like him.

23:19

He's gonna smash her. Oh, I don't really like

23:21

him in the spot. Like just look at

23:23

all of them, especially when we get to the props. I

23:26

mean, there's way too many props for us to sort through.

23:28

And I know that, you know, you're gonna see so

23:31

many different ones out there. There's alt lines. There's, you

23:33

know, some weird ones that Betts will bring

23:35

up later. Like there are so many different

23:37

props. So make sure you understand this is

23:39

a nuanced approach about one game, the big

23:42

game, and we're gonna go through it. So let's take a

23:44

quick break and we'll talk about the matchup more. ["The

24:55

right now now we

24:57

actually have like our football guy we have our

24:59

takes you know we got our hand in the

25:01

dirt. Is your chin

25:03

strap are you strapped up? Yeah

25:05

but just one you know like when I

25:07

have the two on the top and the bottom I

25:10

have the bottom one unclipped right now just because it looks

25:12

cooler. Yeah I have my mouth guard but

25:14

I'm kind of like chewing on it so that when they

25:16

pan over to me it's kind of half out. Lamar does

25:18

that all the time. Dude so much swag.

25:21

I know. All right so give me your first

25:23

thoughts in this game and how it matches up

25:25

between Chiefs and 49ers. Yeah

25:28

so when I think about you know like I said kind of the Chiefs

25:30

and how they've played you're not seeing a

25:32

ton of big plays and you're seeing a

25:34

lot of you know high completion rate former

25:37

homes. He's actually had he's one

25:39

of the lowest ADOTs in the league this year

25:41

which kind of speaks to just how they've played

25:43

which is you know take six seven yards here

25:46

and there which against San Francisco who plays a

25:48

ton of zone I think they're going to be

25:50

able to do that so like I

25:52

said I kind of see A lot

25:54

of ball control type stuff attempted from the Chiefs

25:56

and they're just running with Isaiah Pacheco which is

25:58

what they've done. You

26:01

know, services goes randy when you think about them. Last

26:03

year they were dominant thing about them. Early in the

26:05

are they were pretty good, but they really fallen off

26:07

since we fourteen. This includes the playoffs. Their.

26:09

Twenty fourth overall need he ever played are allowing

26:11

twenty four points per game when look the run.

26:14

Their. Allowing five point three, five yards per carry

26:16

the second worst in the league. they're dead

26:18

last explosive rusher it allowed and they are

26:20

tied for seventh and in the bottom as

26:22

far as miss tackles allowed per attempt so

26:25

they're missing tackles or line. Big plays is

26:27

really haven't been successful stopping the run with

26:29

you. Saw time with Detroit last week and

26:31

Jones week before I could see a big

26:33

that either Pacheco game this weekend i think

26:35

either and sing play on the show translates

26:37

I think is prosser someone interesting on the

26:39

site as well. Yeah. I was

26:41

looking at him and I felt like he was

26:43

a bit miss price in this game. like. He's.

26:46

Only Ak on draft kings. And

26:48

I feel like already you're playing. Cassie seems

26:50

like one of the clear lox. Matter wise

26:52

points per dollar wise. Idea I

26:55

they have a checker. it's really hard to get away from him

26:57

a mean in the second half. They.

26:59

Were using amateur Mckinnon out. He's getting all

27:01

the touches so high for for him. I.

27:04

Agree. Like a lot of this a lot of

27:06

my takes my football takes I look at how

27:08

the Chiefs are running their office. And

27:11

it's a lot of option routes. You know that that's

27:13

shown up in the media a couple times and last

27:15

week or so like, okay, so trends Kelsey to see

27:17

run routes or does he just run the spots and

27:19

get open? And. It

27:21

you know against a heavy zone defense. That's

27:24

what you do and we seem playoff. Kelsey:

27:26

Just get. Peppered. Over and over and

27:28

over again. Last. Week.

27:30

I. Was forts enough to be able to stack

27:33

him but the homes that are really get

27:35

there so kind of freshly like a had

27:37

Kelsey. Lot of Kelsey was the key player.

27:39

But. My home's wasn't. Wasn't.

27:41

There and this kind of form and I feel like I'm. Gonna.

27:44

Stack those two together. In. In a

27:46

single game for her but. Hard to say

27:48

anything negative about Kelsey in the way that he's been used

27:50

right now. For. See rice a it's

27:52

kind of comey gonna come down to which

27:54

one of the wide receivers. Touches

27:56

something. Deep. down field and then you

27:59

get some type of two to three X

28:01

in their salary at like, I don't know, 2.4

28:03

K, you know, MBS is 3K,

28:06

they're just, one of those dudes will show

28:08

up and I have no idea which one it's gonna be. Which

28:11

shout out to MBS by the way, did

28:14

nothing all year and playoff MBS is

28:16

here Kyle, crucial, you know,

28:19

game ceiling catch, pretty tough catcher with the

28:21

defender too and then against the bills he's

28:23

making like contested catches like with his hands,

28:25

which he never does. So very funny

28:27

to see, but yeah, we'll talk about that more next week as far

28:29

as kind of how you play that and which guy

28:31

you lean into. I will point out real quickly because we're gonna

28:33

talk about that more, you know, just in

28:35

context next week. He actually led the wide

28:37

receiver room and routes run last week, did MBS,

28:41

Mikkel Hartman got benched, he ran one route. So I

28:45

think you're gonna see a lot of MBS and Justin Watson

28:48

just as the other guys that you could

28:50

play on the slate. On

28:53

the 49ers side, the story for me

28:55

is always, I feel like I'm gonna

28:57

guess wrong, which dude it's

28:59

going to be. And I

29:01

hate that because the options are

29:03

elite. I mean, Brandon Ayuk,

29:06

I need to give him props and I'll make sure

29:08

I get these numbers right because he

29:11

didn't just put up like a good year. Like

29:13

he put up like an all time season, 3.1

29:16

yards per out run is like a top

29:18

10 all time number. 81%

29:20

of his catches went for first downs. So

29:23

I like him from like being a

29:25

downfield type of guy, but

29:28

the Chiefs defense has basically been shutting

29:30

down really big plays. And

29:33

then Lajerri Esteene has basically been shutting down

29:35

that top option. So it really comes down

29:37

to who he lines up on. You

29:39

know, is it Deebo in motion? Is it Ayuk? Like,

29:43

I just, I worry that I'm gonna guess

29:45

wrong. And so what ends up

29:47

happening is I end up being lower than the field

29:49

whenever I have to sort through 49ers and then I

29:51

get burned. And that's just, that's

29:53

how I've been playing. And so is

29:55

any advice to, I don't know, your friend Kyle

29:57

here about what you would do for those. The

30:00

receivers. Well for internal.

30:02

I'm yeah, I mean they. they'll have a feeling

30:05

that I think is worth chasing if you're talking

30:07

about the Dfs late and again. what's he gonna

30:09

get? Like roster percentage numbers on Captain and Flex

30:11

will have a better idea of how to handle

30:13

it by showing right now is like I think

30:15

luxurious Need is probably gonna be a brand my

30:17

you kind of plays their traditional. Perimeter.

30:20

Wide receiver role. And then I think how Shanahan

30:22

is going to try to figure out how to

30:24

use the well as the key of the scheme.

30:26

You know, get emotion a time. Couple of rush

30:29

attempts get him over the middle of feel emotion

30:31

stuff like that. And when he had his injury

30:33

two weeks ago against the Packers, He

30:36

saw the game plan right away was let's

30:38

make Tivo you know, the accenture. This week

30:40

he had two or three touches. In

30:42

the first quarter before his injury happened and they

30:44

were going to him over and over and over

30:46

again. So to me he's really interesting. We'll see

30:48

where if he comes in Ross percentage wise, but

30:51

I do kind of lean into Depot in the

30:53

spot and potentially away from my youth who truthfully

30:55

and last couple of weeks really hasn't. Done.

30:58

Much and we have a touchdown. Last week and

31:00

almost all this production came on at like. Be.

31:02

Known fluky off the face mask castle five

31:05

yard line like before that he was doing

31:07

nothing so he kind of has cooled off

31:09

when Devos been the dude so I'll probably

31:11

more to debug little bit away from Iraq.

31:14

This is a numbers you're talking a diva Russia

31:16

tents in his career. One. Point Three

31:18

to fantasy points per rush attempt. Which.

31:21

Is almost double what Cmc as now seems

31:23

he's ours, has way more touches, but. When.

31:26

You get, let's say two and a half to

31:28

three rush attempts in a projection. It.

31:31

Should be significant, Has Depot is an outlier

31:33

player so. I do like that

31:35

take early on. who knows. Next week

31:37

I might say Jones ending Sister Cheaters

31:39

Let's see what you need. Yep!

31:42

Let's talk about the Mvp because that

31:44

is what people vote on. That's.

31:46

Where the people wanna make their money. And

31:49

we could just say take Patch of Homes. Mom.

31:53

Still, Not a bad bad a plus odds considering.

31:55

The. Game considering it's quarterback position but see

31:57

wrongly p Twenty percent a vote. is

32:00

the fans voting online. 80%

32:03

of the vote is media members, 16

32:05

of them. So that's how it's made up.

32:09

Let's start from just the overarching, here's how the

32:11

MVP works in the Super Bowl, and then we'll

32:13

talk about any values we like. So hit us

32:15

up with some trends. Yes,

32:17

this goes back to the year 2000. 14

32:21

quarterbacks, five wide receivers, three

32:24

linebackers, one safety. So

32:27

defensive players can win the award.

32:30

It's pretty rare, and they need to have a pick

32:33

six or several sacks, and the

32:35

game kind of has to be a slow slog

32:37

with not a lot of scoring. But kind

32:40

of like regular season MVP, this

32:42

usually is a quarterback award. Now

32:45

the wide receivers that have won it have been key

32:47

members of their team that, it's not like

32:49

if the MBS has a

32:51

random 60 yard bomb, he's not gonna win MVP.

32:54

The guys that win MVP are like the dudes

32:56

on their team. It's Cooper Cup, it's been Julian

32:59

Edelman, San Antonio Holmes, Heinz Ward, and Dion Branch

33:01

are the guys that have done it. I

33:03

mean, you're looking at kind of their stat lines of like, okay, if I

33:06

am gonna bet on a pass catcher here, which

33:08

I would include Kelsey in this,

33:11

can there up a plate, something along the lines of like

33:14

five to 10 catches, 100 yards, and

33:16

at least a touchdown? That's kind of what you need to

33:19

win the award if you're a wide receiver or a

33:21

pass catcher. So those are kind of the trends that

33:23

I've seen, which

33:25

is interesting. And when you bring up the fact that 20% of the

33:28

vote is fans

33:30

voting online in the fourth quarter, there's

33:33

somewhat of, the player obviously

33:35

has to have a good game, but there's

33:37

some aspect of it that's kind of

33:39

popularity based, right? Now it's not the

33:41

biggest weight of the award.

33:43

It's 80% of the media members, 20% like

33:46

you said, to the people online.

33:48

But like people know Mahomes, they know McCaffrey,

33:50

they know Kelsey and Deebo. So

33:53

I'm not going off the board this week. I'm

33:55

not going to, I don't Know, George Karlofftis or

33:57

Willie Gay or any of these guys that

33:59

are. Quote. Unquote I use. I think he

34:01

should say pretty close to the top if you're

34:03

going about this. I was trying

34:05

to remember my head Dexter Jackson that was

34:08

the safety for the Buccaneers. That

34:10

one it? yeah. but pick six. He

34:12

had two interceptions and I think one of the

34:15

pigs exec as your way. I'm picking a defensive

34:17

guy. Is your bases same? You know somebody gets

34:19

a fumble, six? you know, scooping score and some.

34:21

Yeah, it's a pet pig. Six like this and

34:23

we're doing it. But. Yeah. I

34:26

will. I like the odds right now.

34:28

Of taking one of these receive one

34:30

of the same Cisco wide receivers to

34:32

have a outlier to touchdown type of

34:34

game. Like. Devos one of those

34:37

guys that if he runs one in and get

34:39

the receiving, than he kind of negate. Your.

34:41

Party being the one. I

34:46

can't see Rishi Rice winning it. That

34:49

bad. Ah, I'm.

34:51

Only is battling. It's probably a. Pretty

34:54

solid take. I mean when you

34:56

just thing about like again there's

34:58

popularity aspect of it. And

35:01

it's crazy. I mean cyclists his script are

35:03

talking about it but like that's a real

35:05

thing rights. And when you think about player

35:07

the have a big game from homes, it's

35:09

it's going to be either Rishi Rice or

35:12

Travis Coffee. Certainly. And. Of Kelsey

35:14

has a good to great game here.

35:16

yards, Touchdown. You know, five, six catches,

35:18

Whatever. One hundred yards. Amazon.

35:21

I'm so mad or even thought about

35:23

this. but the Taylor Swift thing. Israel

35:25

and people love this. Travis

35:27

County Swift Narrative: there's you've online

35:30

voting. I'm just

35:32

saying man, I think Travis Calcium I've met

35:34

ever bet on the border for talking value

35:36

right now. Which by the way on panel

35:38

he is seventy hot plus seventeen hundred. And

35:40

wracking is he a swab the one which I would

35:42

not bet. I'll make sure he lines up. By the

35:44

way you can get like a home that plus one

35:46

forty on fan duel plus one thirty five on Caesar's

35:49

he fourth one thousand of on Dk. Just make sure

35:51

you on shopper it's at that price. Homage.

35:53

To and don't adore on Kelsey from the

35:55

Chiefs. And then you mention the wide receivers

35:57

for San Fran. I. heard in a restaurant

35:59

I think it's gonna be a big Debo game. I don't mind Debo.

36:02

He's 20 to one right now. Yeah. I

36:05

was laughing more about Rishi Rice, it's

36:07

a popularity contest and I was looking at all the guys ahead of

36:09

him in odds. I mean, he's plus 5,000. And

36:12

it's just kind of like, they're all looking at

36:14

Rishi like, dude, you're just

36:17

not that cool, man. You can't sit at the table.

36:19

You're just not invited. Hey,

36:21

maybe next year. Maybe. Yeah,

36:26

so I think Debo is probably my favorite long

36:28

shot, if you can call it that. Ayuk

36:30

is enticing, but I think the odds

36:32

make sense compared to Debo, just how the game would

36:35

play out. If Ayuk goes for 100 and a score,

36:40

it's probably Purdy getting there. It's CMC

36:42

getting in there too. So we'll

36:45

talk more about MVP, talk more

36:47

about some of these other specifics next week. I

36:49

ran an optimal and one of

36:51

my favorite ones that I ran, that's Christian

36:54

McCaffrey at captain and

36:56

then five chiefs. That

37:00

doesn't make any sense. I

37:02

just liked it so much that I could get

37:04

McCaffrey at captain and still get Rice,

37:07

Pacheco, Mahomes, still make

37:09

it work. So we'll talk more about

37:11

that this next week, all the content on

37:13

the website, but it's a very, very

37:16

special segment. Some would

37:18

say the greatest segment we've ever had on this

37:20

show. I

37:30

think he's doing. I

37:36

tried to think, could I make

37:38

this like Lord of the Rings kind of epic ask?

37:41

No, it's just the DFS awards, man. It's just a couple of

37:44

guys talking about, playing somebody in

37:46

cash. It's just the Dundee's man, come

37:48

on. That's all it is. The Dundee's.

37:50

It's not even as good as the Dundee's. Brooks

37:53

brought up a really good point. We

37:56

were talking that every single year, whenever we

37:58

do our award shows for the footy. and

38:00

everything else. You gotta watch the Dundee's

38:02

episode of The Office. And so it's kind of

38:04

like a new company tradition. It's required by HR

38:06

that we have to watch the episode. Okay,

38:09

fine. I guess I'll follow the rules

38:12

and I'll watch it, which I love to do. Betts

38:15

and I are gonna talk about five different

38:18

awards and kind of reflect from this past

38:20

year. Maybe you're one of those people

38:22

that played along with us. And so you can kind

38:24

of say, I remember that time when you guys talked

38:26

about that on a podcast, but it's a good little

38:29

time to reflect. You can look back at your cash

38:31

game lineups. Fortunately for me,

38:33

I can look back at my cash lineup review articles

38:35

and go, oh yeah, that happened that week. So the

38:38

first article is the cash game

38:40

player of the year. This is the player that

38:42

you played the most in cash

38:44

lineups this year. And I think you

38:46

have the number one answer and

38:48

then mine, when I went back, kind

38:51

of surprised me. So I'll let you go first. This

38:54

is gonna come as a shock to no one, but

38:57

the winner of this award, is Christian McCaffrey,

38:59

who every time man, we

39:02

had an opportunity to make him the best plays

39:04

cover boy. We had to do it. And

39:06

I wanna give a specific shout out to

39:08

week four, which was just, that

39:11

was a week. If you remember, I mean, it's

39:13

early October. The leaves are changing if you're in a

39:15

state that has that. It's

39:17

hoodie season, sweatshirt season. It's the best of

39:19

all time in my opinion. And

39:22

it was even better because we got to

39:24

play Aiden O'Connell, our hero

39:26

in week four. And the reason I bring

39:28

up Aiden O'Connell is because he allowed us

39:30

to play, obviously

39:33

Aiden O'Connell, a quarterback. Christian McCaffrey at

39:35

running back. Karim Williams at running back.

39:38

Keenan Allen at wide receiver, Jamar Chase, Pukanakua.

39:40

You can fit all those dudes in the

39:42

lineup thanks to Aiden O'Connell. So

39:44

Christian McCaffrey was in my cash lineup, man,

39:47

so much. But that week,

39:49

four week, man, that was something special. Yeah,

39:52

he went for 51.7 Draft Kings points, which

39:55

was awesome. And It was nice to

39:57

look back and say, hey, do you remember that Aiden O'Connell week?

40:00

Wait, the reason why we did that? if

40:02

you got to fit in all those dads

40:04

beds mention which imagine telling somebody I could

40:06

play are all of these guys together then

40:08

the year that was impossible. Based.

40:10

On the pricing but. So that was

40:13

good and increase Mccaffrey going back with the cover

40:15

boy of our Best Buys article five times this

40:17

year. Or we said just put him in your

40:19

lineup. And almost every single week he

40:21

was worth it. I went back

40:23

to mind and tired. Kill was one of plays

40:26

that we played our time together, including right off

40:28

the bat week one. We. Played a

40:30

lot of Tray Mcbride thing a lot of

40:32

people said are included but I was shocked

40:34

I played Take Dell. In. My

40:36

cast lineups. One. Two, three,

40:38

four, five times this past year and

40:40

he got hurt in week thirteen. So.

40:44

There is a span where I just said

40:46

i'm playing tank tell everything will times by cover

40:48

boy of my Kastelein a preview he had

40:50

a week. We put up twenty eight and

40:52

a half points in week three. Which.

40:54

Is early on. Thirty one point. Nine

40:56

points another time. And. Then I remember

40:59

this very clearly. Week. One I wrote

41:01

him up as a dark through. He didn't

41:03

do anything. But. I did not know

41:05

the he would turn into Take Dell for the

41:07

rest the year. And. Yeah.

41:10

I've just. I feel like I have very, very.

41:13

Good. Memories of Tank Dell this past year

41:15

and they will be a really good debate. Is

41:17

it Nico as a Tank Dell? Because. On.

41:19

Best be draft. Price. Is so

41:21

different right now, but I think tank can be a

41:23

value. Yeah, was actually just but as

41:25

you that's funny about it Up as a man, You.

41:27

Know I was looking at those

41:29

guys and Nikko's like a borderline

41:31

round one round to pick right

41:33

now, which. I. Think I deserve and

41:36

of how he's been. How he's been. Breathing.

41:38

About think Dell and there was a period of

41:40

time where it was like oh, think there might

41:42

be like the one in a thaw, phones or

41:44

before the injury. So yeah, think there is a

41:47

relative mismatch terms of their A D P's I

41:49

think they are made them closer together. But.

41:51

Both guys look awesome, especially with Stroud

41:53

answering your to and then. By.

41:55

slow it coming back for o sea is

41:57

awesome news for the elephants as well so

42:00

So Tankdale man, what a player. Unfortunately, was

42:02

kind of out on him at best ball. Really

42:05

missed the boat there, but I think we made up for

42:07

it in DFS. Next award

42:09

is the quote, if he beats me,

42:11

he beats me award. The

42:14

player that destroyed you after they called

42:16

them out. Betts, who

42:18

is your pick for this year? There's

42:21

one player for this award and there

42:23

is not a second one. It's clearly

42:25

K. Dotten who, man, that just hurts

42:28

so bad. Watching

42:30

him against my Eagles, by the

42:32

way, in the playoffs in

42:34

the wild card round. Kyle and I

42:36

did a DFS discord event on

42:39

Monday afternoon. I'm

42:41

getting ready to sit down and watch this playoff game, Kyle.

42:43

I've got a great team going. I'm in first place. I'm

42:46

about to win a lot of money. And

42:48

I said, look, K. Dotten, yeah,

42:50

he's gonna be out there. Yeah, he's gonna

42:52

run routes. But I would say Mike Evans,

42:54

Chris Godwin, are gonna see a ton of targets in this game.

42:57

Don't you think against this, he will secondary and

42:59

all of a sudden, K. Dotten turns into

43:01

Tony Gonzalez overnight. Every play is going to

43:03

K. Dotten. I ended up losing this tournament

43:05

coming in like third, which is still fun.

43:08

But K. Dotten beat me, man.

43:10

And he beat me bad. In their

43:12

two playoff games, he had 19 targets. That

43:15

just came out of nowhere. Which

43:17

is hilarious because he had like

43:19

19 the entire season before that. That's

43:21

what it felt like. I have a distinct

43:23

memory of saying, Adam Steele in the beginning

43:25

of the year, if he beats me, he

43:28

beats me. And there was a point where

43:30

this old man, which I'm older than him,

43:32

but that old man destroyed

43:35

me a couple of weeks in DFS. Because I just

43:37

couldn't click the button as his price kept rising and

43:40

he buried me a few times. And then

43:42

I never played him again. I mean,

43:44

I never clicked the button, I think once for Adam

43:46

Thielen this entire year. Second half made me

43:48

look like a genius. But the

43:50

first half, I was getting destroyed

43:53

by Adam Thielen. Next

43:55

award. Punt Tight End

43:57

of the Year Award, which might be my favorite

43:59

award. It might be my favorite part of DFS. Well,

44:03

what's sad though is I'm thinking about

44:05

the landscape of tight ends in DFS and

44:08

we used to make a living off of

44:10

2800 tight ends. They're gone Kyle.

44:12

This might be the last year we can

44:14

even do this because now the quote-unquote punt

44:16

is like 3900 and

44:19

you're like am I really gonna pay this for this

44:21

guy? Which is why we started playing like trademark ride

44:23

every single week and just figuring everything else out is

44:26

like the new You know 4k

44:28

is the new 2500 on Draftings Another

44:31

thing that's crazy is that I

44:33

think what I like is the guys that you

44:35

start rooting for as punt tight ends They

44:38

grow up, you know, they become Startable

44:41

tight ends like Trey McBride was a punt tight

44:43

end beginning the year and then

44:45

all of a sudden he's like he's the tight end one on the slate and

44:48

You just got to play him because that's what

44:50

he's doing and he's the one options often So

44:52

I kind of like seeing my tight ends like

44:54

my buddies kind of grow up into something else

44:57

But our choice our choices are just

45:00

you know, just dudes out there So

45:02

I I pick K-dock because I think I talked about

45:04

him more than any other tight end I

45:06

think I only played him like once in cash though Which

45:09

hilarious is like every single week

45:11

you'd be like, yeah, here's our guys on Fandal He

45:13

was in Draft Kings and right before

45:15

you go to defense you'd be like and yeah,

45:17

you could play K-dotten if you want to Every

45:20

show it didn't matter the matchup didn't matter the price

45:22

just if you want to do it you could one

45:26

guy that I Played a

45:28

couple times usually with regret Logan

45:30

Thomas who I put down as the winner of this

45:32

award who was kind of always in that, you know

45:35

3,300 to 3,600 range and it was like well,

45:38

I don't play it up enough salary left to get up to 4,200 Sure,

45:43

you know, I'll take I'll take four targets and hope for

45:45

the best and usually it didn't work out So for

45:47

me, it was it was Logan Thomas this year and

45:51

But didn't work out. Yeah, there's some other

45:53

dudes that I thought of like Joe Deborah was there for a

45:55

while Chig kind of basically

45:57

sat in the exact same salary and you

46:00

know, Tantalized Forever. Tanner Hudson

46:03

for a while was like, oh, you could punt with Tanner

46:05

Hudson if you really want to. But

46:08

yeah, next year there'll be a new

46:10

crop, fresh, you know, fresh meat

46:12

for us to just talk about and say, hey,

46:14

play them and maybe you'll get two targets. So

46:17

it's all about. All right, next award. This

46:20

is a fun one. The most memorable DFS

46:22

moment of the year. Which moment sticks

46:24

out in your mind as the

46:26

most exciting and thrilling moment of the year for

46:28

you in DFS? I'll

46:31

let you go first. Yeah,

46:33

I think my, this

46:35

isn't asking what our best week was or like the

46:37

best play of, you know, a certain

46:39

week. To me, what sucks out in my head

46:41

is, when was I just like

46:43

in a situation where like, this DFS life that

46:45

we've chosen is just so funny. And to me,

46:48

it was, I was driving with the twins and

46:50

my wife to New Hampshire

46:52

for my brother-in-law's wedding in mid

46:54

to late October. And at

46:56

the exact same time, Kyle's on a beach

46:58

trip, okay? So Kyle's on a beach trip

47:00

somewhere with a drink in his hand, his

47:02

feet are in the sand. You know, he's

47:04

got no cares in the world. I've got

47:06

screaming kids in the back and I'm like,

47:08

man, like I've got to get the best

47:10

plays ready. Like I've got all this stuff

47:12

ready. And what's hilarious is like, you know,

47:14

at the time, there was kind of like slower parts of

47:16

the weekend that I could just step away and work for

47:18

an hour. And it was like, no big deals. It was

47:20

totally fine. But I wasn't really

47:22

plugged in the way that I normally am. You know,

47:25

all the news, all the injury reports, checking

47:27

projections, checking roster percentages, you know,

47:30

every couple of days, this was like, I'll just

47:32

hand build a couple of lineups and hope for the best.

47:34

It's my best week of the year, which is

47:36

so funny. And I was sleep deprived, you know, it

47:39

was just, it was one of those things. So it's

47:41

so funny how DFS works sometimes where sometimes when you

47:43

think you're so in it and you know what's going

47:45

to happen, another time we were like, yeah, I'll just

47:47

throw a couple of lineups and hope for the best. That was my best week

47:49

of the year. Yeah, I always try to

47:51

have this correlation. I'll explain it to Emma, my wife, where

47:54

I'm like, you know, I was really

47:56

plugged in this week and that's like why I

47:58

did so well. So this next week, I'm going

48:00

to be really plugged in so I can do really well.

48:03

And then it just doesn't work out the next week. But

48:06

week eight was quite memorable

48:08

for me because on Sunday

48:11

is usually the time where you tilt and you have your

48:13

cash lineup that Betts and I have gone back and forth

48:15

with. We do it in best plays and

48:17

you're kind of locked in like, okay, this guy's

48:20

the dude. You know, I'm

48:22

playing this guy. And I remember I went

48:24

outside with like an hour left before lock and

48:26

I'm just blowing the leaves. And you know,

48:28

being the husband that I am, you know, just, just, just,

48:31

yeah, just, just where

48:33

everybody knows my name, just, you know, Hey,

48:36

and this thought comes to me. What

48:40

if Tony Pollard isn't the answer and

48:43

it just ate at me because Tony Pollard

48:45

was in a great spot. If I remember

48:47

correctly, like just this, this is awesome. His

48:49

price was great, but Tony

48:52

Pollard had just not come through. And so I

48:55

just said, what if I pivot to

48:57

Jamar Chase? Because a friend of mine once wrote

49:00

this and that friend was me that a target is worth

49:02

two and a half times more than a rush attempt. So

49:06

man, maybe wide receivers and full

49:08

PPR are a better investment. Jamar Chase went for

49:10

28 points. Pollard busted. And

49:13

while blowing the leaves, I said to myself, wow, what

49:15

if I just went different because that's what I wanted

49:17

to do. I found out I went

49:19

back through and I was like, that was the exact

49:21

same week that I

49:24

was sweating out a tournament in Wendy's. All

49:26

right. I was first place in a tournament

49:28

with a Sam Howell stack with Johan Dotson,

49:30

the one week Johan Dotson balled out. I

49:33

think it was going to be good. Oh my gosh. Yeah,

49:35

I think that's right. Yeah. And

49:38

I just remember ordering my food, which

49:41

I don't go to Wendy's very much, but when I went, I

49:44

was sitting there and I'm

49:46

like in first place feeling great. All right. Get

49:48

my food, sit down. Oh my gosh. Now I'm

49:50

in fifth place. Oh, now

49:52

I'm back up to first and I was

49:55

in first until literally the last possible player

49:57

of the slate scored a point. It was

49:59

Trey I'm McBride and I got knocked from first

50:01

to second on the final play. Do

50:04

you remember what you ordered? I

50:07

mean, usually either like a double stack kind of guy, just get

50:09

a couple of double stacks. Love that. What

50:12

surprise you don't remember? Like that seems like a very

50:14

memorable moment. I was

50:16

so stressed out because I'm

50:18

trying to be present with my family while- You're

50:20

trying to like dip your fries and your hands

50:22

are shaking? Just, I had the sweat. You had

50:24

the wedding sweats, I had the windy sweats. Those

50:28

are not sweats you want ever. All

50:31

right, last one. This is not Tutor

50:33

and Horn. This is what you personally

50:35

feel most proud of in 2023 DFS. The

50:38

call of the year where you said, this

50:40

is what was gonna happen. So for instance, my favorite

50:43

DFS call I've ever had, Chase Claypool

50:45

four touchdown game made my

50:47

life. Did I play him?

50:49

I did not at all, but I

50:51

had lots of people that won money that week a couple

50:53

of years ago. So Betts, give me your favorite call from

50:55

this year. What's hilarious is that

50:57

actually made Chase Claypool's life and that's why he

50:59

got extra chances in the NFL, thanks to that

51:01

week, which was hilarious. My

51:05

favorite, just kind of thinking back to the

51:07

process, play of the week was

51:09

week 12 and it was Mike

51:11

Evans as leverage off

51:13

of Rashad White. If you recall that game, it

51:15

was against the Colts. At

51:18

the time, Rashad White had been crushing. It

51:20

was like, oh, you play your running back against the Colts, you run

51:22

the Colts. And I even wrote up,

51:24

I remember saying like, you can play Rashad White in cash.

51:26

He's probably one of the best cash plays on the slate.

51:29

But Mike Evans quietly is gonna take

51:31

on these very suspect perimeter corners of

51:34

Indy. And I think he's gonna light

51:36

him up. He's gonna come in under 10%, which he did six

51:38

catches, 70 yards, two touchdowns. So

51:41

playing a ton of Mike Evans that week just

51:43

felt so right. And that's always gonna

51:45

be a pivot that we can

51:47

make in DFS, right, is popular

51:49

teammate, popular running

51:51

back, play the wide receiver, popular wide receiver, play

51:53

the running back if you're into tournaments. That's kind

51:56

of just one of those DFS 101 situations that

51:58

you can always use. It works

52:00

out quite often and this week it did quite

52:02

a bit. I feel like Mike Evans is one

52:04

of those players that you just go back to because

52:06

he does, he just erupts and he breaks slate. So

52:09

I feel like he's just been one of those guys

52:11

where you can look back at the

52:13

numbers and go like, Oh, the last two weeks, he really

52:15

hasn't got it done. And DFS, we just press reset and

52:17

say, Hey, he could, he could go for it.

52:19

So now that was a good one. I'm

52:21

going to say my favorite was probably the

52:23

run over the final month of just RB

52:25

ones, where I just felt like

52:28

we had a good read together. Where

52:30

I just kind of went all in on some running

52:32

backs. I just thought, man, they're in a really, really

52:34

good spot here. And I feel like they're undervalued by

52:36

the field. And so they were kind of

52:38

like my lock of the week or my call that

52:40

I just like, this is the running back. I want

52:42

to go all in. So James cook, when

52:44

he erupted against the chiefs, that

52:47

was great. The next week he killed it with the

52:49

Cowboys, but the final couple of

52:52

weeks, Karen Williams was

52:54

the RB one overall week, 17

52:56

James Connor, RB one overall week

52:58

18, Aaron Jones, RB one overall

53:00

in the wildcard round that

53:02

kind of run over the last month or so felt

53:04

like we had people that

53:07

subscribe to DFS past that just locked in

53:09

these running backs at really

53:11

lower roster percentages. And

53:13

then they were just able just to crush in tournaments. So I felt

53:15

really proud of that. And I felt like process

53:18

wise, you and I weren't just

53:20

like chasing opportunities. We were chasing like, this is what

53:22

the best play was. So probably

53:25

my favorite. I

53:27

would like to extend a thank you to

53:29

you Kyle, cause you were on Aaron Jones and James Cook

53:31

in those games and I played them a ton.

53:33

So I'll go

53:35

see you man. Appreciate it. Yeah. Oh, my

53:37

thank you to you was the Thanksgiving slate. Curtis

53:41

Samuel. That was you. Oh, Curtis.

53:45

One week of the year. One week of the year

53:47

that he actually did something. All right. One more segment. If

53:53

you want

53:56

to get our props during the DFS pass, we

53:58

will be giving them out more and more for. Super Bowl and

54:01

I'll give mine really quickly because, Betts, you were about

54:04

to go to town on a couple of different ones,

54:06

including some funny ones. MVS, I

54:09

will take his under a 19 and a half receiving

54:11

yards, minus one 10 on Fandil last time I saw

54:13

it. MVS, usually

54:15

his receptions lie in around one and a half. You're

54:18

basically guessing, does he get two catches in a game?

54:21

And that's kind of not really been the case. So

54:23

I will take the under on MVS. I

54:25

just, for me, I look at dusty

54:27

white receivers. We did this with Van Jefferson for a

54:29

while, where if they hang a line that's

54:31

close to 20 on a receiver like that, then

54:34

I'm going to say, I'm going to think that he's going to catch

54:36

one or fewer catches and it's going to be

54:38

under that 20 mark, which is usually people's high

54:41

mark of their yards per reception. So MVS under

54:43

19 and a half receiving yards. I'm

54:46

going to follow that up with an under as well. I'll take

54:48

Brock Purdy, under 32

54:50

and a half pass attempts. The

54:52

line seems a little inflated considering he's been under this

54:54

in 16 of 18 games this year. San

54:58

Francisco 21st, a neutral pass rate. And I already mentioned

55:01

it last week when they were down, they kept feeding

55:03

Christian McCaffrey. So I think you're going to see somewhat

55:05

of a run heavy game plan from

55:07

the Niners, which, you know, maybe

55:09

is the reason the Ravens aren't in the Super Bowl.

55:11

They let Lamar Jackson drop back over and over and

55:14

over again, which is kind of confusing for a lot

55:16

of people, but I think they're going to

55:18

lean run heavy here. The Niners will, when you

55:20

think about, you know, Casey, I

55:22

mentioned that they're able to slow games down now. The

55:24

Niners want to play slow. I just think we're going to see a ton

55:26

of play volume from San

55:28

Francisco. So I'll take under 32 and a half attempts.

55:31

That's my first one. My second one, and I've

55:33

got four, by the way, I'm ready to go. My

55:36

second one, this is my first weird one of

55:38

the week. The first

55:40

team to punt. I'm

55:42

going to take San Francisco. It's minus one 10 on

55:45

both sides. I found this on MGM as well as

55:47

DraftKings. When you look at

55:49

Kyle Shanahan's career, I went back to

55:51

2017 all the way to this year,

55:53

regular season and playoffs,

55:56

not just punt data, but this is a Ben

55:58

Baldwin stat, his model. Basically

56:00

looks at like how often teams go for it when

56:02

they should based off the score based off the down

56:05

and distance based off the field position San

56:07

Francisco is a bottom 10 team in that metric KC

56:10

with Andy Reid has been in the

56:13

top third of the league So just when I think about this game

56:15

and I think about like if there's gonna be a you

56:17

know A fourth and two at the 40 or something like

56:19

that. Do I think You

56:22

know the Chiefs go forward. I think the Niners go for I

56:24

think the Chiefs go for I think Kyle

56:26

Shanahan pants. The other thing is just I

56:28

think it's a better defense right now So if you think about kind

56:30

of the way They go

56:32

as far as they're moving the ball. I think San

56:35

Francisco stalls out first. So give me San Fran as

56:37

the first Team to punt

56:40

those my first two. Do you want to comment

56:42

on these or should I just keep rolling Kyle? I You

56:44

know, I like a good kicking Prop

56:47

and I know we're gonna talk more about like touch

56:49

back those kind of things on the kickoff Talk

56:51

about that next week, but I just I

56:54

just love hearing that you went back looked at

56:56

Kyle Shanahan stuff and then thought to yourself Plunting

57:00

is what I need to look at. Yeah. I mean,

57:02

hey, that's what we're here for My

57:04

third prop and this will probably

57:06

void truthfully Yards

57:08

on the players first catch Michael

57:11

Harmon under seven and a half. This is even

57:13

money plus 100 on DraftKings Now if

57:15

the player does not have a catch this will not count So get

57:17

your money back and you won't even have the bet Like

57:20

I said, Michael Harmon ran one

57:22

route last week. So I'm hoping

57:24

he plays three or four

57:26

snaps Runs one to three routes

57:28

catches one ball for like four yards and that's

57:30

it Because I think he's pretty much out of

57:33

the rotation out of the game plan So

57:35

I'll take the under on Michael Harmon and then I'm

57:37

gonna take San Francisco as a team To

57:40

have under one and a half sacks. I found this

57:42

at plus 130 on DraftKings. So I love

57:44

the value here Pat Mahomes

57:46

is second in the NFL this season in his pressure

57:49

to sack right behind only Josh Allen He

57:51

just doesn't take sacks and when you look at what he

57:53

does in the playoffs It's even better

57:55

his last six playoff games his

57:58

sacks taken are two Zero,

58:01

zero, three, zero, zero.

58:05

He just knows to get rid of the football, he knows where to go, he

58:07

knows when to throw it away, he knows when to take off and

58:09

run, and on top of that, the KC

58:11

offensive line is number one in ESPN's pass

58:13

block win rate this season. Now,

58:16

not having Joe Tuni, obviously, he's not great at their

58:18

guard position, but still, his

58:20

bat in the Super Bowl, I don't think they're gonna be able to

58:22

take him down twice. So under one and a half sacks for San

58:25

Francisco, plus 130. Yeah,

58:28

you remember the game plan a couple years ago, Tampa Bay, where

58:31

they just got after him the whole time. I think since

58:33

then, they've adjusted a lot of

58:35

the improvisation stuff that they used to just let

58:37

Mahomes do forever, and I think they realized, like,

58:40

okay, well, yes, under pressure, he's

58:42

great, but we can't let this guy be

58:44

under pressure like he was before. So I think just

58:46

the game plan and the short area passing, right? A

58:49

lot of the game plan is them getting

58:51

these short routes, lower ADOT stuff, where

58:54

he doesn't have to dance around as much and then

58:56

chuck it deep. So I like that one,

58:58

I like the value, plus 130 is

59:00

a pretty good price. If
