This episode is dedicated to October's National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. In this episode, Courtnee will be having an difficult but inspiring conversation with her long time friend Tristan.  Tristan is a mom to 3, a medical professional and a survivor of Domestic Violence.

This episode will be a discussion about domestic violence, surviving domestic violence and life after. We are talking about this difficult topic to bring awareness to domestic violence but also to educate. We understand that these difficult conversations are hard to talk about or listen to. So as a trigger warning we touch on emotional, verbal, physical and sexual violence in this episode.

Domestic Violence is affecting millions of lives ever year and according to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, on average 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. During one year, this equates to more than 10 million women and men.

In this episode, Courtnee and Tristan will talk about Tristan's past relationships and the abuse she endured. We touch on bystander intervention, fear of life, and raising children. Tristan shares pieces of her experiences with you to bring knowledge and awareness to a topic that oftentimes goes unspoken about. Tristan is transparent and vulnerable and she is proof that your past doesn't have to define you and she is a true testament to survivor.

Tristan's story is her story alone and if you are currently in a domestic violence situation your story may sound and look different. We are here to share her story and remind you that there are resources and help available. Tristan is proof that there can be a happy healthy life after leaving a difficult scary situation.

If you or someone you know is in a Domestic Violence Situation help is available 24/7/365. You can call 1-800-799-7233 or Text Start to 88788.
