Berichten zufolge soll sich in der zweiten Hälfte des 16. Jahrhunderts im Südwesten Schottlands eine grausame Verbrechensserie ereignet haben. Alexander „Sawney“ Bean und seine inzestuöse Familie rauben und morden nicht nur, sie ernähren sich auch vom Fleisch ihrer Opfer. 25 Jahre lang terrorisieren sie, in ihrem Höhlen-Versteck gut verborgen, die Menschen - bis der König höchstpersönlich ihren Verbrechen ein Ende setzt.
