0:43
What's up, 707. Welcome to IGM Gamescoop. I'm
0:45
your host, David Hatfield, and joining me this week
0:48
are Sam Claiborne. Hey, everybody. I'm gonna
0:50
start this. I'm gonna say 707.
0:53
Collin Stevens is back. Birthday.
0:56
And -- Yes. -- 707 joins us after
0:58
a long hiatus. Damon,
1:02
Okay. We did. We did. That
1:04
was helpful. Thank you all
1:07
707 much. We are recording this week's episode
1:09
on my 707 fifth birthday Or
1:13
if I'm feeling fine, happy to be here.
1:15
The the crazy thing is when I stop to think that when
1:18
I started hosting this
1:19
show, I was twenty eight years old.
1:21
Try the twenty eighth. That's
1:23
707 age you are now.
1:24
Here I am at forty five. Still
1:27
still keeping it going. Max checks. Damon, if I
1:29
if I look half as good as you
1:31
do when I'm forty five, I won't.
1:33
I'm not even gonna say it because I won't. I just know
1:35
I
1:35
won't. I'm falling apart already, and I'm in my early Say
1:37
one of those, confusing those statements.
1:39
Right? 707, I like half as much as you guys,
1:41
half as much as you expect.
1:43
Exactly. Exactly
1:46
like that. Well, we've got a great show for this week.
1:49
The the great deluge of games in
1:51
twenty twenty three has begun. Lots of games
1:53
out. Lots of games to talk about We all we'll
1:55
also be checking in with the Nintendo's
1:57
707 of Quantities because since
2:00
a week a week has gone since our last check-in,
2:02
so shovel ware developers have released another
2:04
ten thousand games into 707. But
2:08
first, 707 begin this week
2:11
with Dead Space. The Dead Space 707, which
2:13
will be out by the time you are consuming
2:16
this episode. 707 reviewing up
2:18
to date, give it a nine out of ten. I've been
2:20
playing a lot of it. I think I'm about halfway
2:21
through. I know Sam has been playing it.
2:23
Anyone else playing Despegs? I
2:25
think I'm halfway through as well. Yep.
2:27
Well, I love it. I think it's great. I
2:29
I love the original death space in two thousand
2:31
eight. And in my mind, I've always I
2:33
still love it, but never really revisited it
2:35
since then, so I'm happy to find
2:38
that it it holds up really well
2:40
and it's better looking and
2:42
playing than it's ever been because they didn't just polish
2:44
up, you know, the graphics. They sort of
2:46
smoothed over some of the awkwardness of the
2:48
puzzles and the combat feels
2:49
great. I just love
2:51
it. Don't think it could have turned out better. Sam, what do you
2:53
think? Yeah. Hundred percent. I was
2:55
telling Damon that, like, I was I
2:58
just We were living in an
3:00
era in which when that game came out,
3:02
I took for granted that there'd just be resi
3:04
before like games for the rest of my life, like
3:06
a couple of them every year. And I was
3:08
like, this is a pretty good Resideo four light
3:10
game. And then they just stopped coming. Yeah. And
3:12
then I go back and play this. I'm like, we're only
3:14
playing remakes of Resideo four now in dead
3:16
space, which is really funny. But they're
3:18
wonderful games and they're so playable
3:20
and you hop in and you feel powerful
3:22
and then you never have enough ammo and
3:24
you feel terrified and it's so
3:27
great And I was and the the the way
3:29
I describe it is I remember it being this awesome
3:31
and, like, this is brought up to the
3:33
expectation that I would have of what it
3:35
would look like now. Which is, like, this is basically
3:38
what I remember looking and playing. Mhmm. Like, Ben,
3:40
but, like, I'm sure if I went back at what it's not
3:42
like that at all. But it feels like a
3:44
modern fun, 707, in
3:46
in I just love little things
3:48
about it. Like, every time you're you're like,
3:51
707 calls you, the radio static,
3:54
it sounds exactly like a 707
3:57
skin monster.
3:58
And, like, there's, like, little jump scares that they
4:00
just work into the background of the game
4:02
like that, which so
4:04
smart. Cool.
4:06
Yep. I I always I always
4:08
feel like every time, like, a remake or a comes
4:11
out, you know it's done its job when it's
4:13
like it's it's as good as you remember,
4:15
but it looks how it
4:17
feels like it should look in your mind. You're
4:19
you're just like this is how it's always
4:21
looked and then you go back and play the old one and
4:23
you're like, oh my. But I I have a little
4:25
bit of a unique perspective as I
4:27
never played the original. So Interesting.
4:30
Yeah. And so I I've
4:32
been playing this one. And to me, I don't
4:34
know. Like, if you would have never told
4:36
me that a game that this game existed.
4:38
This is just a new game. I would be like,
4:40
yep, this is a new game and it's great. Like, it
4:42
doesn't feel old.
4:44
I guess you'd say, like, it it works.
4:46
I've been playing on PC, a mouse and
4:48
keyboard. I think it works completely
4:50
fine. It don't know. It just doesn't
4:52
feel like an old game. It feels like it was
4:54
made for today. And I
4:56
know sometimes The inspiration
4:58
must be the 707 remake. Like, to it --
5:00
Right. Right. -- like, it just it's that type of
5:02
feel. It's it's a better horror
5:05
action game than was made back then
5:07
And we don't get a lot of these
5:09
games. It's it's 707. You
5:11
know? Except for Calista Protocol
5:13
a month ago, which are made
5:15
by the same person. Inevitably,
5:18
you know, you know, people end up
5:20
comparing this to Clisto. I think it's much better
5:22
than Clisto, which is just it's interesting because
5:24
as Mark pointed out, you know, you got the 707 of
5:26
dead space. Making a spiritual successor. It
5:28
just isn't it's just not as good.
5:30
Yeah. I think that, like,
5:32
the the creature design is much cooler in dead
5:34
space. Than it is in Calisto. The
5:36
combat feels
5:37
great. It doesn't have the sort of wacko
5:39
punch out 707
5:40
mechanics that -- Yeah. -- Calisto does. It's
5:43
really good. And it's just, like, really cool. Like, the
5:45
original desk space isn't that old. It didn't really
5:48
need to be fully remade. But they did
5:50
it. And I really appreciate it. It's just like,
5:52
what a cool little, like, thing
5:54
that EA and developer motive did. I
5:56
love it. Oh, this is a seventy dollar
5:58
game. Is a seventy dollar
5:59
707. Which some people have, you know, expressed
6:01
expressed disappointment with? Yeah.
6:03
I mean, it's not it's not you
6:06
know, the thing that's happening
6:08
in our time and some of the other games we're gonna
6:10
talk about is that there's this big pressure
6:12
to do open world games that have
6:14
as about as much content as this dead space or
6:16
you make? Like, we're Spoken's
6:18
about fifteen hours, you know. It's like,
6:21
it's kind of the 707 and and the
6:23
overall is, like, really not necessary
6:25
in that game. So it's, like, I kinda,
6:27
like, there's so much more
6:29
cleverness that can go into the layout
6:31
and design and and just
6:33
spookiness of a horror action game
6:35
when it's in this type of format. It's
6:37
not on rails. You do 707. Right?
6:39
And you have to, like, know passages and you get
6:41
shortcuts back to where you are. It's not on that. Right?
6:43
You don't get, like, a big door door
6:45
opener or anything. But you if you
6:47
retread, you get rewarded for it. And sometimes,
6:49
you get honest for it because there's just
6:51
entities back in that area and just It's
6:54
just it's just it's focused and I really like it
6:56
for that
6:56
reason. Now
6:57
707 dollars is focused. That's tough, man.
6:59
That's a that's a big price for a
7:01
rebate. Yeah. I I
7:02
mean, I get it. But I will say, you know, it
7:04
feels like it just has it has incredible high
7:06
incredibly high production values, you know.
7:08
Especially for someone like Marc who didn't had play the
7:10
original, like -- Yeah. -- Mark, would you like,
7:13
this feels like a fully like, it should be a
7:15
full priced game. Right? That's what I was gonna say
7:17
is, I I feel like it depends on how you look at if
7:19
you're very familiar with that space,
7:21
it's it's you've played it a million times,
7:23
seventy dollars probably tough to swallow.
7:25
But, like, me just driving to the
7:27
store and picking up this game that has
7:30
according to how long to be 707, you
7:32
know, it's like, twelve hours
7:34
for the main story and then twenty
7:36
plus, like and it's just completely
7:39
brand new experience. I don't I don't know
7:41
what doesn't make that a seventy
7:43
707
7:43
game. And I make, you know.
7:45
Colin, is this something you want to play?
7:48
I am so jealous. That
7:50
all of you have been playing this game. I
7:53
I 707, no. I hopefully,
7:55
that'd be great. I'm I'm starting to go for 707.
7:57
Alright. Give me that seventy dollars. It'll be
7:59
the smallest step up on me ever. No.
8:03
So whenever there's a game that I'm really excited
8:05
about coming out, I will always sort of like plan
8:07
a night to just, like, stay in,
8:09
order, like, pizza -- Yeah.
8:11
-- drink some soda and just
8:14
just hunker down and go for it.
8:16
And this is one of the games I'm gonna do it for.
8:18
And I I could not be more excited. I have
8:20
also never played the original because
8:24
I've become a huge fan of horror games,
8:26
but it was it it was
8:28
around once that resident evil seven got
8:30
announced. That I decided to
8:32
sort of dig into the resonable series
8:34
and sort of play all the games leading up to
8:36
it. And and until before that
8:38
point, I was, like, too much of scared to cat to really
8:40
play horror games. And so this predated when
8:42
I was playing horror games. And I was
8:45
actually, like, considering playing
8:47
this on a game pass the original
8:49
version. Mhmm. And then this was announced and so I'm
8:51
like, yeah, I'm just gonna play the 707. And I'm
8:54
super I I for what I'm actually pretty glad
8:56
that it is very
8:58
close to the original game. To my
9:00
understanding, there's some new stuff, but it's it's
9:02
largely 707 one to
9:03
one. Right? Is that accurate?
9:04
Your main character talks in this one,
9:07
and I don't believe he did in the original.
9:09
Yeah. 707 was silent in the original, but then he
9:11
did speak in both two and three. So
9:13
they're just bringing 707 across all the
9:14
lines, I guess. So would you
9:16
guys say if I put it this year, just go,
9:18
hey.
9:22
I think you're thinking of something else.
9:27
So in your in your opinion, do
9:29
you think like, if I play this version of the
9:31
game, like, it counts as me playing
9:33
dead
9:33
space. Yeah? Yeah.
9:34
Yeah. I think. Yep. Okay. Oh,
9:37
yeah. Because, like, if you see on the
9:39
screen right now, like, a 707, like,
9:41
that you can tell this these are, like,
9:43
cut scenes from back then.
9:45
Right? Because 707 actually made a comparison of eight
9:47
versus Calisto, and Calisto is like
9:49
super cinematic and that's just kinda how you
9:51
expect games to be. It's like, Josh
9:53
Dumont's face is, like, super close to the screen where it's,
9:55
like, this I I don't
9:57
consider it, like, old or, like, outdated,
9:59
but, like, the half life two
10:01
style of watching it cuts scene play out while you can
10:03
just be, like, running around and looking wherever,
10:05
that's definitely, like, of the era, and they
10:07
didn't change that. That's still catching this
10:08
game. Cool. I
10:09
love that. I was trying to
10:11
see Good. I'm just trying
10:12
to oh, sorry. Everyone everyone
10:15
was
10:15
so excited about dead space. I'll
10:18
I'll go
10:18
last. You you go, Damon. Was just gonna
10:20
say, I love the the zero HUD experience.
10:22
Your health is on your back, your ammo is on
10:24
your gun, you know --
10:25
Yeah. -- prompts will pop up right when you step right
10:27
in front of the locker to open it. It just it
10:29
looks makes a really nice experience. It
10:31
still feels fresh.
10:33
The UI still feels 707. And
10:36
you're like, why don't this is
10:38
amazing. Other games have done this since then, but I don't
10:40
remember them. I remember Dead Space four. And
10:42
every time you bring up your map, it's a
10:44
projection in front of you. Every time somebody's talking to you,
10:46
you can walk around the room. And it's
10:48
projecting in front of you. It's 707 the technology is
10:50
fully locked in the gate. And here's another thing
10:52
that if you haven't played that space or maybe
10:54
you don't remember this about that space, This
10:56
game is a gravity gun game, and it
10:58
707 draws inspiration from half life two
11:01
-- Mhmm. -- as much as anything. And you
11:03
do so much manipulation of
11:05
the environment including really fun things where you can,
11:07
like, rip a pipe off a wall once you know you can
11:09
do that or if you can smash the wall and
11:11
pull a fan out of the
11:12
wall. You know that damn. And then
11:14
you can just shoot that. You can use that as,
11:16
like, a soft blade and shoot
11:17
that to awesome. You constantly are moving
11:20
around things and throwing them and
11:22
saving ammo that way. Yep. And I just think
11:24
that's just the most brilliant 707
11:26
thing along with HUD
11:28
about this game I knew. And the fact that they brought this
11:30
into the modern time just shows, like,
11:32
how ahead of the curve like EA was.
11:34
And again, like, I just expected the games to
11:36
go this direction and get them all the time. Mhmm.
11:39
That is not what happened. This is, like,
11:41
a very know, limited
11:43
genre still, you
11:43
know. Mhmm. So exciting. It's
11:46
707 that you bring up the the gravity gun
11:48
thing because I do the same thing as I did back in
11:50
half life. It's a monster's coming towards me.
11:52
I, like, slowing down. I'm backing up and I'm just
11:54
pulling whatever I can. And I'm like, here's a
11:56
water bottle. Here's like
11:58
a trash
11:59
can. He's just like, okay. That's great.
12:01
I love
12:02
it. Yep. So what do you
12:04
guys think is next for this team? Do you think
12:06
they're gonna remake 707 space too? Or do you think
12:08
maybe they'll go
12:09
for, like, a new Dead Space.
12:11
Yeah. I don't know. Dead
12:12
Space two is also very good.
12:15
Yeah.
12:15
I can think it's three that most people
12:17
don't super love. Right? Yeah. They
12:19
swung too far away from
12:21
horror. It's just more of an action game and there's
12:23
all this loot that you have to collect in
12:25
it. Yeah. Mhmm. It just kinda lost lost
12:27
its it lost its
12:28
way. Mhmm. Got it. Sam,
12:32
I wonder if you agree with this though. When comparing
12:34
that space 707 to other modern
12:36
survival horror
12:37
games, I think I would prefer all the
12:40
modern resident 707
12:41
over this.
12:41
Yeah.
12:42
I think I think they have a
12:44
better I
12:46
guess, just foundation and,
12:48
like, and, like, I I don't know
12:50
how to say this. Like, they're, like, 707 movies.
12:52
This is two. But and
12:54
they just appeal to me on that kind of, like,
12:56
corny level. And then they're just also,
12:58
like, they have a little bit more
13:00
leverness with retreads and puzzles
13:03
and things that you kind of have to do. And
13:05
then there's, like, a replayability, which I don't
13:07
know about yet with that space. So with as
13:09
soon as I beat 707 able to remake,
13:11
I I replay it immediately. And I
13:13
did that with three also. I I love
13:15
playing those games with what comes
13:17
707 to they added a new game plus to
13:19
this. Mhmm. So that's really 707. But then again,
13:21
I played Dead Space before. I actually worked in
13:23
the guide for it. So I'm a little
13:24
like, I thought I'd be a little sick of this game,
13:27
but, like, now, it hasn't caused me. I
13:29
would keep playing it, but I don't think I won't play it
13:31
a
13:31
second time. Mhmm. There is a new game
13:33
plus, but I just I think
13:35
with the resident 707, there's a greater
13:38
variety of environments no matter where the
13:40
game is
13:40
set, you always sort of like Yeah. That's true.
13:42
The issue is a little too different way. It's neat 707 first
13:44
time you're like, oh, this is it's cool. 707 Mining
13:47
ship, but it stays a Grady Mining ship. there's
13:49
moments where you're like, this is kind of neat. I'm in a
13:51
staff room or a bathroom, whatever. And
13:53
then you you have to realize
13:54
to, like,
13:55
a couple hours of this game with the same
13:58
enemy. Like, you do, like, the those
14:00
the the human like ones and then, like,
14:02
the baby like ones and then it kind
14:04
of opens up from there, like, not a whole
14:06
lot. Whereas, like and, like, I I don't I can't
14:08
speak to 707 evil's 707
14:10
too much, but there's it's kind of in
14:12
this game, it feels like you you
14:14
you you learn an enemy type, and
14:16
then they can throw a lot of them at
14:18
you. Mhmm. And then you move on to the next one. They throw
14:20
a lot of them at you, so it's, like, super
14:22
creative.
14:24
What what I appreciate about this game? I don't
14:26
know if it's in the old ones, but like
14:28
Mark 707 is getting old. He he
14:30
has a bad memory. And so I played
14:32
and then I didn't play for like a day and I came
14:34
back and I'm like, oh
14:36
no, I have zero idea where
14:38
to go. Like, just from a day because the
14:40
you're right. The shit does look very similar,
14:42
but there's, like, a button you push, and it just tells
14:44
you where to go. And I'm like, oh my
14:46
god. Yep. It's a perfect it's a
14:48
perfect I use it all the time.
14:50
It's a great tool in this game. Yeah.
14:52
And that that's really cool. And the other
14:54
thing is that zero
14:57
g controls are so well
14:59
thought
14:59
out. They're good at getting the zero 707. It's like press all
15:01
these buttons. You're like, oh, no. This might be a little
15:03
bit rub. And then you get in
15:04
your, like, flying around and shooting
15:06
things and gravity gunning. And I'm just
15:08
like, how is this so
15:10
well done? Like, it just so well done.
15:12
Like, it just has better controls
15:14
than you know, most modern games
15:16
707, it it goes 707 in the fly.
15:18
That's so cool. I think and III
15:21
think I've heard that the anti gravity in
15:23
the first game was, like, one of the
15:25
worst parts of it. I was like,
15:26
oh, being good and two. I don't remember
15:28
being in one
15:29
very much. In
15:29
one, I think you just, like, pointed out a direction
15:32
you could just go there. You didn't
15:34
707 freeze. Oh, so that little,
15:36
like, blue circle that
15:38
shows up when you can land. That
15:40
was just like how you
15:41
moved. In the original
15:42
that's interesting around. Oh,
15:44
yeah. Yeah. Gotcha. So they
15:46
kind of almost, like, brought things that they
15:48
introduced in with later games and sort of
15:50
brought it back
15:51
this. Yeah. Which which kinda shows you their
15:53
hand a little bit. Right? Like, now they kind of have an
15:55
engine that can run too -- Mhmm.
15:57
-- 707, easily.
15:59
It seems 707. And then, like, I think, like, they
16:01
could make an original game too. But I don't know.
16:03
I don't like, the the fun thing about this
16:05
game too is that you discover the universe
16:08
And then, like, the more that you know about the universe in the
16:10
next game, it's like it's a bad feeling of a
16:12
universe. Like, there's for this game, it's
16:14
fun. Like, it's kinda it's kinda boundary
16:16
707, like, it's makes a lot of
16:18
comparisons to, like,
16:20
a certain contemporary
16:21
religion, which is
16:24
shocking. Like, I can't believe it's in
16:26
the
16:26
game. I like that. I like,
16:28
you know, I I like the whole the basic
16:30
concept of, like, this alien artifact
16:33
that is discovered and makes people go
16:34
crazy. Like, that on its own
16:37
is just a concept that I like.
16:38
And it's just a hundred percent from Event
16:40
Horizon. Right? That's just, like, basically,
16:42
from that?
16:43
Probably I've never actually seen Event
16:45
Horizon. Maybe I have It's exactly that
16:47
plot. It has a bunch of, like, dismemberment
16:49
and skin and stuff on a scary spaceship.
16:51
It's a it's I remember being really fun
16:53
to watch Now, I mean, I you could also say
16:55
that a two thousand one space
16:57
obviously dealt with similar themes
16:59
because the model if makes it
17:01
a bunch of apes hurt each other and then it makes it
17:04
easier or
17:04
707? That happens. Right?
17:07
True.
17:08
No spoilers. Okay. Anyway,
17:11
this 707 is out. It's great. It's
17:13
steamy recommended.
17:16
Oh, and
17:20
how have you been enjoying Fire
17:22
Emblem Engage? I've
17:24
really been it. I've been a fire in
17:26
my band for a while, starting
17:28
with, like, the the GBA games, which is, like,
17:30
I think, around when they actually started bringing them,
17:32
basically. That's everybody else. Right?
17:34
Yeah. So I've been loving
17:36
it. It definitely goes back to sort of
17:38
the gameplay core
17:41
of previous fire emblem. I felt like three houses
17:44
got a lot more focused on the outside of
17:46
combat stuff with you
17:48
going around. The monastery and
17:50
and talking to people constantly. I I
17:52
got to the point in that game, and I finished three
17:54
707, but, like, I got extremely annoyed with
17:56
how much I had to do while I
17:58
was in the monastery and I just kinda
18:00
wanted to keep going back to gameplay.
18:03
But then the the actual combat
18:05
itself was a little bit shallow in that game.
18:07
And it didn't feel like you were really, like, playing
18:09
around with things super intricately.
18:12
707 this one, it has the
18:14
ring system where it has all the
18:16
these old characters from
18:19
previous fire among games that sort of you
18:21
can pair with the, you
18:23
know, a live active characters in
18:25
this game and they can get them like special
18:27
abilities. It's
18:29
it's super in-depth, like, they can even have them, like, learn
18:31
new weapon types that they can wield and
18:33
stuff, and you need to know how to use
18:35
certain weapons to be able to upgrade
18:38
your classes for certain characters and so you
18:40
can get those by, like, equipping them with
18:42
this emblem, like, increasing your
18:45
bond with that emblem and
18:47
then, like, purchasing that specific trait. And
18:49
so it's, like, there's way more
18:51
depth here to the gameplay in the systems
18:53
than there was in the previous game.
18:55
And it's just a lot of fun to play around with.
18:58
Mhmm. The story is definitely
19:00
not as good. It's it's it's
19:02
pretty vanilla And
19:04
and I was noticing this, the
19:07
protagonist who two talks in this game at the
19:09
very least is basically just like
19:11
milk toast, nothing. And
19:14
I think a lot of that has just sort of come down
19:16
to the last handful of fire emblem games. They
19:18
kinda wanna just make it an avatar for you to
19:20
project yourself too. And then the other
19:22
characters are the interesting ones. And that works
19:24
better in three houses because those three
19:26
characters who led the
19:28
houses were, like, pretty strong and
19:30
well developed but there's they're
19:32
not quite as well developed with side characters
19:34
in this
19:34
one. I honestly feel like it's been
19:37
since, like,
19:38
path of Radiance on the 707 cube since, like,
19:40
they had, like, real honest to
19:42
goodness characters as the main character
19:44
in these games. And and you
19:47
can almost feel that more strongly because
19:49
you have all these emblems from these old games
19:51
and you're like, oh, yeah. Martha is a
19:53
cool character. Like, these
19:55
these characters were interesting in their own ways
19:57
and now they just sort of feel like all of them
19:59
just sort of feel like, oh, they're this destined
20:01
dragon and they're just always gonna be
20:03
the strongest number of party, just gonna be, like, you know
20:06
so the story, all of
20:08
that, is is the only thing that's kinda dragging it
20:10
down for me. But
20:12
I've gotten to about the halfway point where
20:14
things sort of go down. It's it's pretty
20:16
typical for Fire and Lung games for there to be like
20:18
a big shift in the middle.
20:20
So I'm really excited to go into that. So
20:22
what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna hit
20:25
pause, play dead
20:25
space, and then play the second half of
20:27
this game. Cool. That sounds
20:28
like a great plan. I like Fire
20:30
Emblem worded. I
20:32
was just gonna
20:33
say, I like Fire Emblem. I like tactics games.
20:35
In general, I skipped
20:37
three houses though -- Mhmm. -- because all I ever heard people talk
20:39
about was how they're having tea parties in their
20:41
game and that did not sound like
20:43
fun to meet. So I I've
20:45
got engaged and I fired up. I played through this
20:48
tutorial in the first one or two battles,
20:50
whatever it is. So I've just base just barely dipped my
20:52
toes in it. I will say, immediately
20:54
upon starting it, I immediately regretted not
20:56
turning on a Japanese
20:58
voice track. Yeah. The
21:00
voice acting is super annoying.
21:02
Then when I looked in the menus, there actually isn't
21:04
one. There's no deaf music. Oh,
21:07
cool. Yeah.
21:07
But did you did you go with the male or the
21:10
female lead character? You know, but I don't
21:12
think she's
21:12
the annoying
21:12
one. It's like those kids and
21:15
That's fair. Yeah. The the my
21:17
least 707 voice so far is the
21:19
male lead character, which sucks because he's in
21:21
every
21:21
scene. So Got it.
21:23
Yeah. But I were to
21:25
turn off the battle
21:28
animations and then skip every single
21:30
cutscene, which is generally what I do
21:32
with these games. And I still like, mhmm.
21:34
Would this would this be just a fun series
21:36
of, like, tactical
21:37
battles? Probably? I
21:40
I'd I'd say so. And there are there
21:42
is sort of out of combat stuff.
21:44
There's this I think it's called the
21:46
707. Where you go back to and, like, you can buy new
21:49
weapons and you can do a
21:51
bunch of cool things, upgrade the
21:53
rings, and and bond with your characters a little
21:55
bit more. But it's way
21:57
more compact than the
21:59
monastery was. And you can basically do, like, a loop
22:01
of it and do everything you need to do in, like, five
22:03
minutes and then just get back to
22:05
the combat. So, yeah, you could probably just
22:07
play it that way if you want to. And and and
22:09
and one thing I did mention is, you know, this game
22:11
kind of breaks the streak of, like,
22:13
kind of, kind of ugly first
22:15
party switch games. This
22:17
game looks really good. And you guys
22:19
for for hardware that's this old, like, it it it
22:21
looks
22:21
great. It definitely looks better than three houses.
22:23
Yeah. Just just I
22:26
mean, even though I just said I I turned
22:28
them all off and skipped them, like, just watching
22:30
the videos of these animations, it looks
22:32
so cool. Like the character
22:34
designs are kind of varied 707, you
22:36
know, not my thing, but they just look sharp
22:38
and pretty and, like, I just like I like the
22:40
way they're they're the
22:41
thing. Sometimes the kind of half self
22:43
shade look doesn't look that great. Mhmm.
22:45
Mark, I
22:47
think Oh, yeah. That was how's the
22:49
romance? Are
22:51
you asking me how the romance is?
22:53
No. I have
22:54
an encounter at romance, actually. 707
22:57
pretty
22:57
707. No romance. Yeah. I'm I'm trying to think of it
22:59
and it's just like there's definitely
23:04
okay. So I'm trying
23:06
to decide if I'm gonna use this word or not.
23:08
Okay. I'm gonna use this word.
23:09
Okay. Well There's a lot of
23:11
characters that seem
23:12
to be, like, veggly horny
23:15
for the main character. Mhmm.
23:17
And are just constantly talking about, like,
23:19
how Hadi is and how obsessed they are with him and, like,
23:21
a couple of characters have, like, a fan
23:23
club for him.
23:25
But you don't actually, like, do
23:27
any dating 707 least so far in the
23:29
game. So it's kinda funny. It seems like maybe
23:31
they,
23:31
like, knew that people would,
23:34
like, miss out on that. So they they including
23:36
some sort of, like If they're not, like,
23:38
they're kind of the home based management
23:40
and the relationship management, that's
23:42
a script down
23:43
firing. Yeah. It it definitely feels like it's, like,
23:46
back to basics for
23:48
better and, like, maybe a little bit for
23:49
worse, but, like, this is just really hitting the
23:51
spot for me right now. So I like it
23:54
a lot. And, Mark, I think
23:55
you liked Mario plus Rabbit's sparks of hope.
23:57
Is that right? Yep. Yep. I do. I love that
23:59
game. Will you play engage?
24:02
No. Because I have a friend who
24:04
is playing it and she said that
24:06
she played thirty three hours in one weekend
24:08
707 that is all I need to know to know that
24:10
I will not be playing this
24:12
game. That is -- What? -- a lot of
24:13
because someone's a lot of
24:16
gameplay. That's just so much. Mark
24:18
doesn't have that kind of 707
24:20
anymore or attention span.
24:22
Like, that's like,
24:24
I I if somebody says I played
24:26
the game for thirty three hours, if you didn't
24:28
beat the game three times, then I'm
24:31
out. My god. That's too
24:33
long. Wow. Only short games
24:35
707 I'm too tired, man. I'm way too tired.
24:37
There's too much 707 to
24:38
watch. I'm re the last of us already. There's only two
24:41
episodes and It's just gotta
24:42
change those seconds off those Mario sixty four
24:44
star. Yeah. Never. I will never
24:47
sacrifice. Yeah. I just oh, yeah. Okay.
24:49
Yeah. I just gotta get faster at beating
24:51
it to make time for other things in my life.
24:53
I get it. Alright. Well, I'll try. I've been
24:55
trying for years. Well,
25:07
Mark, did you play any 707 Forspoken?
25:09
Yes. I played a lot of force Forspoken.
25:12
Unfortunately.
25:12
707, Walmart. Yep.
25:16
Yeah. I'm is out. It's gotten sort of mediocre
25:18
reviews across the board, I
25:20
believe. 707 too
25:20
surprising. Right? There wasn't a lot of hype for that game for
25:23
release. 707 what did you
25:25
think, Mark? That that game was the
25:27
perfect example for why
25:29
game demos should exist. To be honest
25:31
with you, because I was like, yeah, this looks cool. I'd
25:33
like to play it. And then they put out a demo, and
25:35
I think the world unanimously was
25:37
like, nope. This isn't for me. Thank
25:39
God, I got to try it. And I was I was
25:41
along that group of people. Right? 707, I
25:43
was I played the demo and I was like, I do
25:45
not like this combat. I do
25:47
not like the cuff and
25:49
and fray banter. I thought
25:51
the world 707 in a demo of the world,
25:53
I could tell the world was going to feel
25:55
empty. But I
25:57
don't know if you guys know this,
25:59
but I work at IGN dot com. So
26:01
sometimes you have to play games even when you're not excited
26:03
for them. So boot it up
26:05
for spoken. I think the music is
26:08
great. I like the music a
26:10
lot. I thought the opening
26:12
was like, okay.
26:14
And then it's once you get
26:16
into the open world that you're like, the first thing one
26:18
of one of the first things the game has you do once
26:20
you enter the open world is it has
26:23
you go across the entire map to
26:25
go on a quest to find
26:27
some dude. And
26:29
you're just going and you're like, I
26:31
I don't care to stop it. Like, any
26:33
of this stuff. But this map is
26:35
human. I care to stop like, every
26:37
single crackdown or possible.
26:39
Right. And so I was doing that as well.
26:41
I was stopping at the man of things and
26:44
I'm
26:44
like, I'm getting nowhere.
26:44
I I'd played for, like, a half hour. I was still in
26:46
the same area because you're just running around that I'm like, oh,
26:49
there's
26:49
six thousand kilometers or
26:50
whatever
26:50
it says, there's like a countdown. And
26:53
so Finally, I had to just go to the
26:55
tunnel vision and yeah. Exactly.
26:57
I had, like, almost maxed out my skill
26:59
tree before I even did that first mission. And
27:02
yeah, so overall, I
27:04
think it's fine. I think the
27:06
gameplay isn't like offensively bad. I think
27:08
the combat's like, I think it's okay. I I've
27:11
actually been more down on the combat than other
27:13
people. I've been talking to Tom 707 reviewed
27:15
it. And he's like, I really like the combat and I'm
27:17
like, I don't like I don't think it's
27:19
very good. And then, yeah, I
27:21
think the story is really
27:23
bad. I think the writing is super poor.
27:25
Yeah. And the game is just
27:27
not that pretty. I -- Yeah. --
27:29
I'm surprised that it's like PS five ex
27:32
like, exclusive as in, like, it's not 707 PS
27:34
four because it's kinda like
27:36
awesome nights. It's weird.
27:37
Like, That game wasn't that pretty either,
27:39
but they canceled the old gen version. And
27:41
so it makes me terrified to think if this
27:43
game was on PS
27:44
four because have a little ground. Sixty four era
27:47
fog. It
27:48
does. And they even
27:49
try to explain it. They're like, hey, guys. It's
27:51
foggy because 707 a break. And I'm like, no. It's
27:53
foggy 707 it's bad. The the 707
27:56
antagonist in the game is a
27:58
fog. Sure. And it and it fogs, you
27:59
know, as far as your your drive
28:02
distance. Yep.
28:03
Yep. That's definitely
28:04
That's it. Right there. Yeah. That's
28:06
the stuff. Yeah. I hear you.
28:08
A bunch
28:09
of this too. Yeah. I played a
28:11
ton. In fact, I I can relate to everything 707 saying.
28:15
One one like, it it just
28:17
kind of Okay. I have a couple of
28:19
things to say. One is the this kind of is
28:21
an example of, like, how kind of just kind
28:23
of poorly thought out
28:25
it
28:25
is.
28:25
In the intro, which is very
28:28
long and set in a city 707
28:29
you go through this kind of,
28:32
like, kind of
28:34
707 add back 707. While
28:36
that's
28:36
happening, your character goes home and picks
28:39
up a copy of Alison wonderland.
28:41
Oh. You like to use a song. Oh my
28:43
god. And it's literally like 707 bad.
28:45
I I she she would verbally 707, I
28:48
wish I could just slip down a
28:50
rabbit hole and disappear into another world. And
28:52
I'm
28:52
like, are you kidney. Yeah.
28:55
She just stands there saying, man,
28:57
I'm a real fish out of water here.
28:59
Yeah. Hundred percent. This is it.
29:01
Clover it ain't. And so it it it goes from
29:04
that into, you know,
29:05
an an an rhodium knock off. Right? Yeah.
29:08
And so it kinda it kinda does
29:10
that thing And people
29:12
are all kind of stupid in it. They're they they'll,
29:14
like, kind of, ignore, like, really weird
29:16
obvious things and It's
29:19
just whatever. But then you look at
29:21
the pedigree of the game. This is
29:23
the team that made Final Massey fifteen,
29:25
which is also pretty
29:27
stupid. Right. But, like, it's not a fantasy.
29:29
So, like, when you get to pass for a lot of this, take
29:31
yourselves seriously. Gotcha
29:33
abouts. You know? Nobody's gonna
29:35
give that game AAAAA reward for
29:37
writing. But, like, that
29:39
team made this, and then if you look at
29:41
the credited writers, which I know,
29:43
didn't end up polishing the
29:46
scan. Amy Hennig, Gary
29:48
707. Who's who? Who's who? Who's
29:50
who? Who? Who? 707? Who
29:53
hasn't it? It has an amazing team. I am
29:55
not saying these people are bad at their jobs or anything
29:57
like that. I'm just saying, like, they had some
29:59
options here maybe at one point.
30:01
To go in different directions, but where this game ended up was
30:03
probably not spec. Does that make sense?
30:05
Yeah. Yeah. So I just, like, I I, like, wonder what it
30:07
could have been. And
30:10
then there's a there's just something things that drive me crazy. Like like
30:12
707 character it seems like it's AYA game. Like,
30:15
it's this well, young adult
30:17
fiction. Yep. Seems like it's set for, like, teenagers.
30:19
There's, like, swears are,
30:21
like, every other one. Yep. 707 it's like
30:23
It's really, like, obvious.
30:26
Like how scripted the swears are, and it's like
30:28
f bombs and s bombs and like it
30:30
would be funny, but the characters aren't likable. So
30:32
it's like, this is just people swearing at
30:35
each other. Which is strange. So that's
30:37
happening. And then, you know, like, the the teeth
30:39
look back, for example. You're just like, I don't like
30:41
looking at everybody's teeth in
30:43
this game. Weird things like that. Weird stuff. What
30:45
what happened here? So
30:47
I think the the
30:49
the good thing to about this is, like, I
30:51
think it's really cool that a team of
30:53
Square Enix is, like, you know,
30:55
new developers didn't put
30:58
on a final 707 project after they made
31:00
a championship game. They have put on a project, 707 have to
31:02
make whatever they would. That should be
31:04
something that happens more often. And then
31:06
we get experiments that are like this, and we
31:08
get experiments that are like
31:10
better games. Right? And that's fine. That that's
31:12
a healthy
31:13
industry. So I I've nothing against the game or it's reagent.
31:15
I think it's cool that it exists. Yeah.
31:17
It is cool that Square Enix tried something
31:19
so different for them.
31:21
When they they they just pump out they
31:24
just pump out so many games every year that
31:26
are, like, based on their existing franchises.
31:28
Colin, I I think you generally
31:31
like scoring
31:31
game. Is that right?
31:31
Mhmm. Mhmm. Definitely. 707 any
31:34
format for
31:34
you? I have not played it, and
31:37
I am not going to. What if I told
31:39
you
31:39
that Google's in it? Does it
31:42
actually?
31:42
No. Okay then. Even if it
31:45
did, like, if it if it were
31:47
a numbered final fantasy game, I
31:49
would purely to
31:51
be like a 707. But,
31:53
like, I I've seen enough. I've heard
31:55
enough. I've seen enough.
31:58
There's there's enough games coming out
32:00
soon and actively that I
32:02
wanna play that, like, I'm not gonna spend my time
32:04
playing something that I'm pretty sure is not
32:06
gonna
32:06
be. This is this
32:08
so let me level of criticism of this game
32:10
that I can level, like, out of war and I
32:12
did. Mhmm. But the character in this game does
32:14
not wanna be doing the things that she's doing.
32:17
Mhmm. She's 707, like, reluctant. Like, you know, they
32:19
707 that a, like, reluctant error or
32:21
whatever. That is not an archetype that's fun to play a video game because
32:23
you're just forcing somebody to be somebody 707 do
32:25
the entire time. And it feels bad. And
32:27
it's the same thing with Kratos where,
32:29
like, at least, you know, in
32:32
this game, I think there's a
32:34
I don't know. She's she's adventuring for the
32:36
first time. And that create us is, like,
32:39
maybe stop going on. He's not killing
32:41
adventures if he ate
32:41
it. He doesn't. It's thrown back
32:43
into it. The the
32:46
difference the difference there is that, yeah, Kratos doesn't wanna do
32:48
it, but Atreus, the
32:50
dialogue between the two, like
32:53
kind of you can understand
32:55
why he's being pushed to do this thing and the
32:57
consequences of the world. And like you understand
32:59
that stuff, where in this, your your
33:01
atreus is cuff, And
33:03
you don't wanna do it either. He's just
33:05
he's 707 offended by the fact
33:07
that you don't that you wanna
33:09
go back
33:10
home. Like, he's just
33:10
offended by
33:11
that notion. And also he's not
33:14
helpful. He you're like, what could be happening
33:16
in his words? Like, there's no way to
33:17
know. That's his answer to everything. They also just
33:20
actively disagree with each other because they
33:22
think that that's funny.
33:23
Like, she'll take a picture and she'll be like,
33:25
that's a good picture and he'll be like, it's passable.
33:28
Why? Why is it he
33:29
has to deaf you and they move on? That's actual
33:32
dialogue in the game. Right. And it is it's just
33:34
like it that doesn't make sense or he'll be like,
33:36
oh, this is like something you should try to
33:38
do more, like, or whatever. And she'd be like, no, I don't
33:40
wanna and it's like, either
33:42
they're they're only they they had a giant
33:44
whiteboard that it was just like 707 to disagree
33:46
with each other. So it doesn't matter what dialogue is
33:48
written. As long as they disagree, it's
33:50
funny. But it's not
33:51
funny. It's just
33:53
not. Nope. Oh, well, that is
33:56
the story of 707 spoken. Let's
33:58
talk about it. Summed it up.
34:05
Let's talk about a game that's not out
34:07
yet and that is Redfall, but at least
34:09
we now finally know when is going to
34:11
be
34:11
out. Redfall 707 on
34:14
May Second, ten
34:15
days before
34:15
the legend of Zelda, tears of the
34:18
kingdom. That doesn't mean a lot to
34:19
anyone who 707 an 707.
34:21
But for us, Oof. We gotta
34:23
be 707 gotta play Redfowl really fast.
34:25
Mhmm. Mark, every
34:28
707 x every x 707 person is
34:30
going, oh, it's on PC as well. You
34:32
know. And, like, when you call it the Xbox a console, I
34:35
I've learned this. Can I
34:37
I don't know? I don't know how much
34:39
you care about Red gonna be honest
34:41
with you. I think it looks cool, but I don't
34:43
super love our game games. I could not get
34:45
into that loop. This is
34:47
like, yeah. Are you kidding me? Not
34:49
at all. I would think Deck loop is a
34:51
marked game. It has, like, such short little
34:53
segments. You can Yeah. It's great
34:56
for speedrunning. Did not love that game. We did do a dev direct
34:58
to speedruns for it 707. So I
35:00
recognize I reckon you know, game
35:02
recognizes 707 game.
35:04
But yeah. No. I didn't like it. This
35:06
game, III think it really depends
35:08
on how willing my group of
35:10
friends is gonna be to play it. I
35:13
think we can have some fun as a
35:15
group. But looking 707 what I've
35:17
seen, this this looks like a video game. This doesn't
35:19
look like something I'm just going to like
35:21
lose my mind over is what I'm saying. Like, it looks like
35:23
a game. I'll try. I'll play it over the
35:26
weekend, 707, like, is
35:28
this gonna be my new obsession?
35:31
Probably not. It looks like a game.
35:33
I'll give it a shot. It's on Game
35:35
Pass.
35:35
Why not? Yeah. It
35:36
is on Game Pass. This this
35:39
presentation sold me on it. Was
35:41
already intrigued because I like Arcan a lot,
35:43
but I didn't quite know it like its identity
35:45
was. And and gameplay wise, it still looks
35:48
very Arcany, which is great because they
35:50
know what they're doing. But just
35:53
the idea of sort of going
35:55
around, killing all of these different vampires,
35:57
all of the sort of different
35:59
specific abilities that these characters have and how they can, like,
36:02
interact with each other. We
36:04
I was watching the stream with
36:07
my team, the social team, and, like,
36:10
immediately 707 of us were just, like, yeah. When this game
36:12
comes out, let's all just, like, play through this game
36:14
together. And so in my mind, it's almost
36:16
as, like, sort of a a more
36:18
cartoony four player
36:20
death loop in in a way.
36:22
Obviously, it's not gonna the
36:25
same, like, loop system, but I'm just
36:27
really excited for
36:28
this. Just just gameplay alone. I trust that
36:30
Arcan's gonna make a fun game. So I'm
36:32
excited it reminds me of borderlands, like when you're looking like, the different
36:35
spells and abilities. And if you strip
36:37
out the, like, talk, like, overly
36:39
long, like, cut 707, my
36:41
favorite thing to do in my Borderlands three was like, I wanna try a
36:43
new character, but it's hard because, you know, those
36:46
intros are so long and you have
36:48
to stand there and
36:50
watch Lillith do stuff. If this is something that I can be like, now I
36:52
wanna try this character and jump in,
36:54
like, I find that super interesting because all of
36:56
the characters look
36:58
very different.
36:59
Yeah. Sam, what
37:00
how are you feeling about Red Fall?
37:02
First of all, this area is supposed to be procedurally
37:04
generated, which I thought was interesting.
37:07
707 area?
37:07
Yeah. There's there no. There's areas of the game 707 talking.
37:10
So that's just one of them. You can tell it's, like,
37:12
whatever
37:12
it likes. That's kinda cool.
37:14
Mhmm. Alright. So I underestimated, like,
37:17
everybody 707 loot. Right? So I'm just not
37:19
gonna do that anymore with our game games. And there's
37:21
a big single player game with, like, a
37:23
lot of clever on that potential. And they said in this
37:25
thing, which I don't know if it's true or not. Mhmm. They're like,
37:27
you can play this, like, or other games. Yeah. 707
37:30
wanna sneak in
37:32
and, like, I
37:34
also played Gothamites, and I
37:36
saw how bad bad man was, you
37:39
know, kind of nerfed by
37:42
a multiplayer game. So, like, that's
37:44
possible too. There's there's both possibilities. Right?
37:46
And, like, I'm not gonna play a lot
37:48
for that. I'm just not going to. I don't
37:50
want
37:51
to. I want I wanna play a cool art hand signal player game. So Mhmm.
37:53
But
37:53
that's there. We'll see. Yeah. It
37:55
that's exactly
37:56
how it says closer
37:58
to far cry
38:00
than it would be levered in.
38:02
Like open world kinda go anywhere.
38:04
That that's just what they're pushing. Like,
38:07
they've specifically been trying to squash the notion that this is
38:09
anything like left for
38:10
707. They're they're
38:11
also very trying 707, like,
38:14
push that this is a
38:16
single player game and a multiplayer game
38:18
and that you're not losing out on either
38:20
experience if you choose one or the
38:22
other, which is also exciting because
38:24
I like doing both? Yeah.
38:26
That'll be the big question for me.
38:29
If it's actually fun to play by
38:31
myself, like Borderlands's, Mhmm. Then I then I can get
38:33
into it. Mhmm. But what do you think? What the release date of
38:35
May second, what does that tell us about
38:38
when Starfield?
38:40
Might be out because -- Mhmm. -- I don't think it's coming
38:42
out coming
38:42
out on May second. That's what Yeah. And
38:45
I don't think it's gonna come out in the
38:47
first half of the year. I
38:49
think it's I think it's their
38:51
winter
38:51
game. I think so too. They just haven't I'd not say
38:54
it. I think they've needed
38:56
that time. Frankly, I don't think
38:58
it looked particularly good when we saw
39:00
it at
39:01
was it e was it e three technically,
39:04
like, the showcase or whatever
39:05
summer gaming, whatever their e a 707 e
39:07
three replacement was last year. Yeah. Yeah. I
39:09
can't I can't remember which year they did 707 digitally
39:11
three and which ones that they just, like,
39:13
scrapped it anymore. The the last three years have been a
39:15
blur. But
39:18
it just didn't
39:21
look like, it was particularly close to 707, then
39:23
then, of course, they delayed it, like, into
39:25
the next year, and now
39:27
they've delayed it probably are delaying it even further, and
39:29
I think that's a good thing.
39:32
Maybe they'll go for the eleven eleven
39:34
date. It'll just
39:36
be eleven eleven twenty
39:38
three instead.
39:40
And I think that's probably enough time to
39:42
get it to to where they want it to
39:45
be. And I I 707 would not be shocked if
39:47
this went into twenty twenty
39:50
four.
39:50
Oh. But I don't think it will.
39:53
I I think it's just gonna
39:55
be late. Twenty
39:56
eight twenty three. Yeah. Mark, what
39:57
are you thinking then? I it's
40:00
hard. You know, we don't we don't
40:02
comment on on leaks
40:04
or speculation. But there there was a a leak about -- Oh. --
40:06
WiFi 707. And that
40:08
person has also said
40:10
other things. That you're
40:12
like, and that they're saying that
40:14
starfield is likely to be in the first half, but
40:16
that it might not I don't know if that it might not
40:18
be in the
40:20
best condition. I don't know I don't know what that means for Bethesda game anyways most their
40:22
games don't launch in the best condition. And that's
40:24
saying that as someone who
40:27
loves fallout four and works at this company because
40:29
of fallout four. But
40:32
yeah, I I
40:34
don't know. Selfishly, I want the game as fast as possible. But
40:36
also, I really love fall games.
40:38
Right? I really love taking break over
40:40
Christmas or
40:42
or or you know, Thanksgiving and just like playing a game.
40:44
And if this does come out,
40:46
you know, in the first half, it's gonna be after
40:48
Redfin, so you have to assume it would be
40:50
around 707. Man,
40:53
it's e three and, like, that sounds stressful for -- Yeah.
40:55
-- 707 hours of a game. A lot of other
40:57
games coming out in June. Right.
41:00
There's there's it's a it's a very stacked year. So it's 707 I
41:03
don't know. With Redfall and Starfield,
41:05
I feel like Xbox should try to
41:07
space it out a little
41:10
bit more. So two months that you have these two,
41:12
like, super hyped games and they're gonna
41:14
come out within a month or so of
41:16
of these 707 other,
41:18
like, I Unless they have something
41:20
else like how Blade two is their fall
41:22
game,
41:23
I would personally work better. Starfield save
41:25
it. Starfield would be a
41:26
bigger fall game than Hellblade 2III
41:29
agree. But if they can be like,
41:31
707. Yes. Redfall, then
41:34
707, But don't worry about fall because we also have Helbling.
41:36
What would suck is for both of these games to come out before 707,
41:39
you know, around June,
41:42
and then have nothing
41:44
for fall except
41:44
for, like, four sets. Right? Which is four
41:46
sets at some point two. Mhmm.
41:48
I don't say what 707 you
41:50
think? I think it's out the I don't think they're gonna change it. I
41:52
think they just needed a little bit more time, and
41:54
they'll stick to it because they said they were
41:56
going to, and but as to
41:59
has done amazing things before including announcing a
42:01
game and then putting it out six months
42:03
later. And I think they more
42:05
than other studios know
42:07
their timing. Mhmm.
42:09
So I I don't
42:10
think I don't think they care what what's happening on
42:12
Xbox for this one. I just don't think
42:14
about that stuff. Xbox
42:15
has nothing
42:16
to do with it. They're not telling them to hold their
42:19
game.
42:19
Yeah. Bethesda will do whatever they want.
42:21
And this was their plan, and they'll put it
42:23
out, and they probably have plans for the
42:25
call. And So it's Xbox, but it is no very nice. I'm
42:28
I'm I'm very excited to see what they because
42:30
they said that there's gonna be a Starfield specific
42:34
showcase soon. very
42:36
excited to see where it's at and sort
42:38
of taking a step back and thinking about it
42:40
that they are about to do, like, a big
42:42
showcase again. They know that it has
42:44
707 be in like a very presentable state. And
42:47
I'm gonna I'm gonna walk back on my prediction
42:49
that it's possible for it to
42:51
slip into twenty
42:52
707. I don't think that's gonna happen, but I do still
42:55
think it's gonna be late twenty twenty three.
42:56
I think Diablo Starfield and 707 Fighter
42:59
six are all coming out.
43:01
Yeah. And pound
43:02
of electricity. And pound of
43:03
electricity. Yikes.
43:06
707, trees happen then. Yeah.
43:08
Well, if they wanted to do that and technically
43:11
sneak it in before the end of the
43:13
first half of the year, June thirtieth
43:15
is on a
43:16
Friday. This year. Sorry. Mhmm.
43:18
But, yeah, feel like 707 we we
43:20
helped in the plan. Yeah. Did did Damon
43:22
just announced the release date? We
43:24
kept our promise June thirtieth.
43:26
Start feeling it folks. Yep.
43:34
Okay. Back to games that are out now. It's time
43:36
to check-in with the Nintendo 707
43:40
of quantity. Is your
43:42
guarantee that there is absolutely
43:44
nobody watching the Nintendo
43:46
eShop. Anyone can publish
43:48
anything on that store. We've got some good ones to
43:50
highlight this week. I think my favorite
43:52
one this week is called,
43:53
that's a cow, deluxe edition.
43:56
It's a
43:57
cow, 707 deluxe
44:00
edition of, That's a cow, which is The thing that's
44:02
weird
44:02
is, whoa. Oh,
44:05
butterjets. They are they
44:07
are. They are. Burning the Deluxe name right now. I could tell
44:09
you. Weird thing is that the
44:12
Deluxe Edition is two dollars, but the
44:14
regularass Edition is
44:16
six
44:16
dollars. And so I don't know
44:18
what's happening there. So
44:20
the description of this is soar
44:22
through the air and don't get milked
44:24
in
44:25
this cute game. One of the lines in the description
44:27
just says, Jet Jet ut utters with no
44:30
punctuation. Then you are an animal rocket.
44:32
Launch yourself and don't get
44:34
shot
44:34
down. And then it says in another
44:36
line, new goodies every hour, no
44:38
punctuation. Shoot enemies with a
44:40
stream of white drink. Dicking
44:42
it's until a 707. No.
44:44
This is a very rare
44:47
sealed 707 game that
44:49
actually has gameplay there.
44:51
Yeah.
44:51
I I don't actually I would
44:53
play this. That can actually
44:54
look like a video game.
44:58
I'm surprised. It says use the milk or liquids to fly
45:00
away. Push physical obstacles or stop your
45:02
enemies. Shuffle your hooves 707 don't
45:05
hold back. key features under key features it says
45:08
shooting a stream of milk
45:10
and more. That's
45:14
it. What's it? They could name one
45:17
more key feature. Chocolate
45:19
milk. Chocolate milk
45:20
would be
45:21
good. Yeah. 707 707?
45:24
Mhmm. Banana
45:24
milk? Be brown
45:25
drink. I've had banana
45:28
milk
45:28
from a seven eleven. That was great. I liked it.
45:30
I bought it as a joke, and I actually liked it.
45:33
Nana? Yeah. I was like, oh, banana milk.
45:36
What is this? And I actually Yeah. I was good. Is
45:38
it, like, is it, like, 707? That
45:40
makes that Yeah. Yeah. It's one of those, like, you go to seven eleven, there's, like,
45:42
seventeen different kinds of milk. And I was, like, alright. 707 give it a
45:44
shot. No's
45:46
good. Yeah.
45:48
Okay. That is That's a Cal, the
45:50
exhibition. Our next pick this week is
45:52
called 707 machine, clown
45:55
hunt. It says two dollars.
45:58
It says new arcade machine for one or two
46:00
players hunt for the clowns is
46:03
wild. Crowns are here to ruin your evening at funfair.
46:06
Don't let them get over your head and show them you can
46:08
deliver exciting jokes. There he
46:10
is. 707
46:12
is that has 707 be one of the
46:14
most terrifying clouds that I've seen in my life. I'm gonna be honest with you. Yeah. Try that there was killer
46:17
stuff.
46:17
Yeah. Some
46:18
some kind of some kind of exploitation
46:22
of I guess, killer clowns and I think it's
46:24
like Why is his
46:26
hair
46:26
great. Mhmm. Yeah. I demand
46:30
more bottles. Oh, there we
46:31
go. They're
46:32
shooting gallery. So under features, it says super scary giant clown boss
46:34
with his knives out.
46:38
Enough guns to pick up for up to two players.
46:40
And it says the night of
46:42
reckoning is upon us, first gofers
46:44
and now this survive at all
46:46
costs. What
46:47
does Gopher's have to do
46:49
with? So maybe
46:49
there's, like Is this a
46:51
sequel? Shooting gallery?
46:52
I don't know yet. Maybe there was arcade
46:54
machine Gopher's before this No.
46:56
I don't know. At its Arcade
46:57
Machine Cloud Hunt, it'll set you back two dollars.
46:59
Yeah. You can Next one, I only put on
47:01
here because of what
47:03
a blatant rip off is, and maybe Justin is the only one who could
47:06
appreciate this. Does anyone know Peppa
47:08
Pig? Oh,
47:08
yeah. Yeah. No. Absolutely.
47:11
Ubiquitous referenced. Okay. Out this
47:13
week is a game called Hippo
47:16
Little Red Riding Hood, and I hope
47:18
Gilbert can pull this up because it's --
47:19
Wow. -- blatantly a bad 707. Wow.
47:21
That is that's there
47:23
she is. It's
47:25
even Peppa Pig.
47:26
The same animal friends that Peppa
47:28
Pig has.
47:29
Yeah. This
47:29
is Peppa.
47:31
That's a hundred percent just like, oh,
47:33
yeah, my cousin's daughter
47:36
sees a game on Switch and
47:36
goes, yep, I want this. It's a Peppa The Big
47:39
Game. And They just buy
47:39
it. Yep. Yep.
47:41
Good. Those fish
47:42
from our TikTok video are probably gonna buy
47:45
that. This game
47:46
cost ten dollars, by the way.
47:48
Wow.
47:49
Premium premium price.
47:50
Five times as much as that's a
47:52
cow deluxe edition. Yeah. What do you think that
47:54
pig's name on the
47:55
right there is? It's just
47:58
shameful. Yeah.
47:59
Peppa Pig in it. I
47:59
love that there's
48:00
no depth with her nose. It's just like
48:03
it's just over here. And you're
48:05
supposed to believe it's
48:06
707. But there's, like, no shadow
48:09
or nothing. Okay.
48:09
Yep. Yep. So this, you
48:12
know, this
48:12
game is intended. It's intended for
48:14
a very young children to play. And lots of games like
48:16
that on the eShop. That's why this next
48:19
pick, it's called Kindergarten Buddy Edition.
48:21
I was fully expecting
48:24
a game that was intended for children. But my first clue that someone was off
48:26
is that there was an AIDS verification that
48:28
you had to enter before getting to the
48:31
Kindergarten and Buddy 707 -- Wow. --
48:33
game page. And the the description
48:35
is uncover a grand conspiracy by
48:37
living the same day over
48:39
and over again With the power of
48:41
friendship, excessive violence, and nuggets, you will discover the
48:44
truth. But
48:44
in your name, 707
48:48
edition, brings all the fun and janitor attacks of both kindergarten
48:50
and kindergarten two into one
48:52
unholy package. Learn to share,
48:54
help Cindy bully an innocent 707, get
48:57
other kids expelled and take some pills.
48:59
That's what you
49:02
do in kindergarten.
49:05
Take some
49:06
pills. You know?
49:07
It's like postal plus bullying plus yeah. Yeah. 707 thirteen year
49:09
old game
49:09
center. Yeah.
49:10
707 talk to Maria. With that pixeler,
49:14
as it's a worse style. Graphics than Earthbound?
49:16
Yeah. Right.
49:17
Those are your main picks. Horrible
49:20
mention. These are some
49:22
game time else stood out to me.
49:24
I did no investigation to see whether they actually qualify as Shov aware, I just liked
49:26
these game titles. And they include,
49:29
yeah, fighting girl.
49:32
That was pretty good one. That's pretty good. The next one
49:34
is Japanese 707 from the room
49:36
with sturdy door.
49:37
Oh, yeah. There's yeah. Oh,
49:39
I think, girl. I love that they just went
49:41
to Google Images, typed anime girl, clipped her out,
49:44
and put her in front of the
49:45
clouds. And that's like a
49:48
Pokemon font.
49:50
The next one is
49:51
Japanese escape from the room with
49:53
thirty door.
49:54
707 can see
49:57
when the door when the door is 707, it
49:59
becomes
49:59
much harder to escape. 707 not a
50:01
dirty door. That's the worst possible scenario
50:03
707 me.
50:04
You and I know you paid for the work. You had to solve the
50:06
puzzle. Like, 707 is missed level graphics? It's a way to hear it. No.
50:08
This is a
50:09
hundred percent. Just pictures
50:11
that you're clicking around.
50:13
And I'm actually I I walked back 707 I said earlier. I am gonna throw
50:16
this on the chivalware
50:18
pile. And there's so
50:20
much empty space in this
50:22
escape 707. Natus. The last one
50:24
this week, the title I like is
50:26
Santa
50:27
Claus Goblins Attack. It
50:30
is the season for 707. Oh,
50:32
it is. Yeah. You know, January. 707
50:36
Claus
50:37
got balloons attack.
50:39
I mean, by
50:40
707 couldn't ship it. They couldn't
50:43
get it shipped by 707. At Santa
50:45
Claus, that's they're From
50:47
those old, like, Clayton, like, style,
50:49
like, movies. That's just him. Looks like a cool stuff.
50:51
But then the goblin --
50:52
Mhmm. -- he looks like from Spider
50:54
Man. You know what I
50:58
mean? Everyone remember in late last year when
51:00
the official Twitter account for Santa
51:02
Claus Goblins Attack posted that
51:04
image, like, to our
51:06
fans. We're we're very
51:08
sorry to have to
51:09
announce. We're gonna have to delay the release of I
51:11
did the goblins. It's a big yellow background.
51:13
Play. We 707 have gameplay. We from this.
51:15
Yep. Got some
51:16
screens 707 show you.
51:17
You know, elves were already part of the
51:19
Santa cinematic universe. Yeah. So
51:22
goblins being part of it too just
51:24
makes
51:24
sense. It's just natural.
51:25
Is a is a natural stepping stone? Yeah.
51:28
Well,
51:28
that was
51:29
an Nintendo
51:30
Steel Quality, the
51:31
gift that keeps on 707. Week
51:34
after week after
51:35
week. And that
51:38
brings us to
51:40
video
51:41
game twenty questions.
51:44
A suggestion this week comes from Tyler in Seattle,
51:46
Washington. Let's just
51:48
an efficient
51:48
episode. Maybe you're a question it can
51:51
be 707 efficient. Let
51:53
the question thing begin? We got it in 707
51:55
twenty last time. That
51:58
was that was freaking me out. I think
52:00
that one just sort of came
52:02
down to
52:03
That's terrifying. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But we
52:06
were circling it for a while. So
52:08
Yeah. Oh, what was it
52:09
again? I can't remember.
52:10
It was ace attorney. Sorry. 707 of people
52:13
don't watch 707. I would have said the set.
52:15
We we I think you said
52:16
the name of it. These are
52:18
sequential. It'd be weird to watch them out. Yeah.
52:20
I think you said I think you said the name of it,
52:22
like, five questions before the end.
52:24
But, like, we we didn't think that it
52:26
was on the
52:27
we, so we just kept sort of
52:29
being like, I don't 707, Zac and
52:31
Wiki. Yeah.
52:31
Okay. Sorry. Different different twenty questions now.
52:34
Was this game released in
52:36
this century? Yes.
52:40
Yeah. Nobody.
52:42
Was this game released
52:46
in the after January first
52:48
of twenty
52:49
ten. Yeah. Twenty twenty twenty twelve.
52:51
Sure. 707. Keep it to okay. Was this
52:54
707
52:55
707 console ten? Twenty 707?
52:58
No.
52:58
Okay. So it's between
53:00
two thousand and
53:00
twenty twelve. We can we can look at that.
53:03
Let's see
53:04
here. What's the
53:07
console exclusive?
53:08
Yes. We'll call it a
53:11
we'll call it a platform
53:14
exclusive.
53:14
Okay. Gotcha. So
53:15
probably also on PC, I assume is what we
53:17
can infer from that. I guess
53:19
there's a lot of
53:21
Xbox games that Sorry.
53:24
So we're
53:24
between first of all,
53:26
I think what Damon was just implying is that it's
53:28
not on a it's
53:29
on a handheld Oh, gotcha.
53:32
Gotcha. Gotcha. Okay. Thank you.
53:33
So we're between two thousand
53:35
and and twenty twelve. So
53:37
this is this would be pre
53:39
PS4 Xbox
53:40
One. No. Don't make me full screen while I'm thinking. I the
53:43
audience didn't know that. 707 did
53:45
this did this come out in in
53:47
a in a cartridge format?
53:50
No. Who? Okay. It could
53:53
be dickably. It'd be
53:55
707, yeah.
53:58
We didn't ask if it's a WMD.
54:03
How did WMD? Yeah.
54:04
Yeah. Oh, wait. Oh, wait. My bad. No. UMD. Nope.
54:07
UMD. That's my bad.
54:10
Sorry.
54:10
I'm still thinking about cows and uders
54:13
attacking, and I I can't get
54:16
it off my brain. I'm all messed up. That's insane.
54:18
In
54:19
utter of mass destruction.
54:23
That's what UMD stands for. Now 707
54:25
know. Definitely not universal. Works
54:27
on everything.
54:29
I liked it. Let's see.
54:32
Okay.
54:32
So was this game
54:34
on a handheld? Handheld
54:36
were thriving
54:37
during
54:37
that time. What what do
54:40
you mean by handheld?
54:42
Okay. So was this game
54:45
on 707? Or PSP Hey, Mark. Hold on, Mark. Hi,
54:48
Mark.
54:48
Was this a a cell
54:50
phone game? Oh, that's what
54:53
I'm saying. Okay. Yes.
54:55
And that yes. And that's
54:57
Awesome. Awesome. Alright. Okay.
54:58
Thanks. It's angry birds. The only
55:01
707 game. It it very
55:03
much could be. How do we how do we narrow
55:05
this down, and generally speaking, so we don't get, like, two into the weeds with
55:07
specific titles? Well, how about
55:08
this? Was
55:09
this game well received? Yes.
55:12
Okay.
55:13
Well, I I guess I guess the thing I'm worried about is the game that IGN gave
55:15
a ten to. It's
55:15
probably that.
55:18
Oh, god.
55:20
What was that call that? It was, like, two Nick,
55:23
two words. I believe
55:25
blade or iron
55:25
blade or Unlimited.
55:28
Alright. Something
55:30
Why don't we have
55:31
a mobile game with Justin's not here? I 707. God.
55:33
But is it
55:35
mobile 707?
55:37
I think Oh,
55:37
I do remember
55:38
Infinity Black. I remember it was, like,
55:41
the first mobile game where it's, like, you had to
55:43
have that baseball. Come up
55:44
with a single mobile game name. Alright?
55:46
A a
55:47
single mobile game so doing great. I think we're doing
55:49
great. Yeah. Zoom, Zoom,
55:52
is that what's called Zoom, the
55:54
mobile game?
55:56
Zoom?
55:56
That was AMP3 player back in the day.
55:58
Yeah. I believe it was on
55:59
the Microsoft MP3
56:02
player. Oh,
56:03
I had a I had a poop
56:05
brown, Zoom. Oh, nice. Yeah. Yeah.
56:07
Zoom. Zoom. I can't remember. Alright.
56:09
Hey, Zoom.
56:10
Was this was this say
56:13
A puzzle game?
56:16
No. Okay. I
56:18
would definitely consider angry
56:21
birds puzzle game. Yeah. And in Candy Crush. How
56:23
about
56:23
what? You guys never cut the
56:25
rope? Yes. That's what you're saying is Where's
56:27
where's the
56:30
water?
56:30
Oh, man. This is a classic. How about
56:32
how about this? Is this game
56:34
a fantasy game?
56:37
Okay. It's a problem. 707, it might be infinity blade. It'd be sword
56:40
707 sorcery too. This game
56:42
was this game praised for
56:45
its high graphical
56:46
qualities. Yes.
56:47
Oh, it's
56:48
definitely I mean, what else
56:49
can we possibly That's what it was called.
56:51
Right? It's called a How many
56:52
questions are we on? Like,
56:53
I'm gonna 707 You've asked
56:56
nine questions. Oh.
56:57
Or you just wanna guess it? We're doing it. We're doing it. Okay. Alright.
56:59
No way. Yes. It is a video.
57:01
Wow. So I did
57:03
that saved us, like, ten questions on our
57:06
big count for the year.
57:08
Yeah. Damn.
57:08
Who woulda who woulda thunk that
57:11
It would be 707 blade, and we'd get it in tingles. This
57:13
game looks great. Yeah. Yeah.
57:15
Two thousand and three.
57:16
707 ten. Two thousand ten, 707
57:19
engine developed by chair who
57:22
did Shadow
57:23
Complex? That's called this. Mhmm.
57:26
Correct. And and Epic Games, published
57:28
by Epic Games. Yeah.
57:28
This is
57:29
like a deal at the time. Oh, man. But they live in a chair. They made
57:31
they're still around. They made three of these
57:34
games, but 707 they're
57:36
only ever on iOS, and now they've been
57:37
delisted. So they're just gone. He's still
57:40
going to just I I remember
57:41
this was, like it was it was a big deal. It
57:43
was, like, I had the iPhone three
57:45
g or whatever it is. Like, it it barely works
57:47
on that phone. You have to have the better phone. And that
57:49
was, like, kind of a weird
57:52
thing because Like, Angry Birds worked on
57:53
everything. So sell it to
57:54
you. Yeah. Oh,
57:55
well, actually, that's an iPhone three g
57:57
right there,
57:58
and it's working 707. Hey, man. I love
58:01
it. That was pretty miffling 707 two thousand and ten, you know, thirteen
58:04
years ago. You were looking at this on your
58:06
phone. I wonder whose fingers those are.
58:08
And
58:08
then, Sam, I don't know if you've ever encountered
58:10
707. Could
58:12
be 707 could be Hillary Gold since. He loved
58:14
that game. Ten ten. Right? Yeah. Sam,
58:16
I don't know
58:16
if you've ever encountered this. They ported ported this to
58:19
arcade, and it's like motion sensing.
58:21
We just your arms on
58:23
a experimental game. This
58:25
really
58:25
took the office by Storm, and I think
58:28
IGN Champion did a lot. Otherwise, it might
58:30
have been.
58:31
More, but, like,
58:32
I think, either ten. Right? I think
58:35
so. Yeah. Or at least a 707. It's
58:37
very high. And then to answer your
58:39
your question, Sam, I got that Justin
58:41
wasn't gonna be on this
58:41
week. Also, I would've he's this one. Well,
58:44
maybe he would've muddied the 707. Yeah.
58:45
We couldn't like, we couldn't 707,
58:47
we couldn't didn't 707 hundred
58:49
games that this could be. Yeah. But maybe
58:52
maybe 707 phone games are
58:54
too easy because I have to give
58:56
qualifying answers
58:57
707, wait. Maybe What do you consider? Handheld? Or
58:59
The other game I thinking of was sword and
59:01
sorcery. Do you remember that? That one That
59:03
was something that it was, like,
59:04
it was
59:05
pretty fun. That was 707.
59:08
Oh, it
59:09
was.
59:09
Okay. Yep. Infinity Blaze. Nicely
59:12
707. You guys got
59:14
there.
