Girls In Medicine Collective is an online platform set up by three medical students at Norwich Medical School - Kellie, Alessia, and Kiran. Our aim is to connect aspiring and current medical students with empowering role models in the medical profession. We want to provide young women with a supportive, encouraging community, and build a network in which they feel confident in their career choices. We will be talking to successful medical women about their career, and we will also be discussing important feminist topics, such as the gender pay gap, having children whilst in training, and workplace sexism. In addition to this, we will be talking through tips on getting into medical school, because we see the importance of widening access, and the value of helping people from underrepresented backgrounds to secure a place into the medical profession. Although this podcast is targeted towards people who identify as a woman, we welcome non binary people and people of all genders, to explore these important issues which affect our profession. Our fortnightly podcast will be posted every other Saturday, see you there!
