Brilliant insights and practical life advice, and really interesting to listen to. I love Gretchen and Liz and their conversations. P.s. I'm an upholder.
I've listened to this podcast for years. I'm amazed that it's still as fresh and chock full of good ideas that actually have made my life happier now as when I first started.
I have nothing in common with Gretchen and her fantastic sister Elizabeth yet I have realised from listening to their instant addiction of a podcast that I am extremely like both of them in different ways.Their openess and support of each others journey is so relatable in that this is not an act, this is real women with hunger for growth and every episode does a beautiful act of discussing topics that would be boring if talked about at length and instead discussing them with humanity and purpose. If I forget who I am I put on the ladies while I do housework and instantly feel back on track. Listening to this podcast like a noncommital one sided friendship for introverts. I read Gretchens book The Happiness Project before her podcast found me and again I have nothing in common with her on paper but exactly hmm... let me think... EVERY PAGE HIT HOME FOR ME.This woman has a talent for expressing, observing, digesting, and improving the human experience. Listen to the podcast, read the books, be Happier.
Makes me happier. It's just fun with good information.
I was just listening to an episode about strategies for changing habits and felt compelled to post this review. I used to LOVE this podcast. The hosts are engaging and Gretchen Rubin is knowledgeable about the social science literature and studies regarding happiness. However, my love waned the minute the four tendencies thing started. She is NOT a social scientist and the four tendencies are something she MADE UP. There is certainly some truth to be found, but there certainly are no peer reviewed studies backing up her theory, In spite of this, it has become the framework for virtually all discussions on the pod. It's ridiculous and makes her seem like and egomaniac.
Gretchen and Elizabeth have created a stupendous podcast. Like countless others, I have learned an enormous amount about happiness, habit change, and how to be a better human being. They are insightful and charming and thought provoking.
Writing a message: Hi viewers, I'm desperate due to being disabled on a fixed income and I contacted him so that i can be able to win and save my home, Dr Kachi cast a magic spell numbers for me which i use to play and i win $149.4 Million Dollars from the Mega Million, i know this might be a help to any one who is interested winning, this just happens last week here, OR email: drkachispellcast@gmail. com
I'm an avid podcast fan (and podcaster), and this is one of my favorite podcasts – and the one I've listened to the longest. Gretchen's insight into human nature has been incredibly helpful for me in my job and in my relationships (esp. as a parent and spouse).
Two new BFFs who make me happy! Listening to this podcast is like having 2 new best women friends who are wise, funny, and kind to themselves, each other and others. What great role models of successful women who are flawed, working to improve themselves and also loving themselves. And this before all the happiness advice kicks in! I started listening a year into this podcast and had the pleasure of starting from the beginning with a whole year’s worth of episodes to listen to. Besides the happiness hacks I used and the four tendencies framework that explained me and my partner, what I got was a friendly and buoyant lift to my morning routine, my commute, and my late night dish washing. Gretchen and Elizabeth’s kindness with each other and the people in their lives is one of the best lessons I have absorbed. I was so sad when my back-up episodes came to an end and I had to wait a week for each one, but I’ve adjusted. Gretchen has so much to share from her research on happiness and habits, and she is so skilled at applying this knowledge to her own life and the lives of listeners and readers, that I’ve absorbed it just by listening. Thank you Gretchen and Elizabeth!
This podcast is indeed very helpful to me. I have already listened to 20 to 30 episodes. The main characteristic of this podcast that I found is that it addresses a lot of topics that I have thought about quite a bit in the past, but I've heard someone mention them out aloud for the first time through this podcast.
I’ve been a long time listener and love the interaction between the two sisters, the happiness hacks and the four tendencies. I could do without the plethora of ads, though. More content and less advertising, please!
Interesting content, but any of the covered topics does not have to be related with being happy.
