15. Well, Guess We’re Old Now…

It’s strange how it sneaks up, and then BAM

• Body Changes - gray hair, wrinkles
• Aches, health/digestive issues (hello Taco Bell)

Now we’re old parents, not cool parents

• Matt agrees with all the parents in teen movies
• We don’t get the lingo
• At least we still have good taste in music

How movies/music has held up now that our kids are older

• Some have NOT aged well (the Mask or anything Jim Carrey, Neverending Story) sexism was huge, so super awkward watching those back with daughters 
• Some that have (Goonies, Hocus Pocus, Princess Bride)
• How today’s movies/tv uses 80s nostalgia well though (Stranger Things, IT)

How we’ve noticed things are different between when we were kids, and our kids

• We had a lot more independence
• They are MUCH more into social justice/inclusion
• Very interested in current events/politics

How we’re coping

• Wellness is a big deal now, eating better, needing to work out
• Not caring about what others think as much (eff it attitude)
• Trying to stay relevant
