What are standardized patient programs? How can we use them to teach medical students about transgender health care? The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB)’s Dr. Morissa Ladinsky, Associate Professor and Pediatrician, and Dr. Shawn Galin, Professor of Medicine and Medical Education and Director of the Office of Standardized Patient Education, discuss UAB’s standardized patient program and the role it has in teaching rising physicians about inclusive and affirming health care with transgender patients.

If you are interested in learning more about UAB’s standardized patient program or want to become a standardized patient yourself, please visit https://www.uab.edu/cipes/standardized-patient.
