Mundo Juillerat grew up on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. His mother, aunty, and cousins were in Hula (Halaus) and Tahitian dance troupes- bringing him up in Polynesian music.  He started playing the ukulele, then guitar and the Toeti’ (tahitian log drum) in various Hawaiian shows by the age of thirteen.

In 1987, Mundo graduated with honors from the Guitar Institute of Technology, where he studied with Jennifer Batten, Scott Henderson, Joe Diorio, Paul Gilbert and Frank Gambale.  He's also studied Flamenco guitar with Phillip Amundson, Bruce Conte (Tower of Power), jazz master Joe Lano, and gypsy jazz artists Bireli Lagrene and Stochelo Rosenberg.

Juillerat makes his home base in Las Vegas, where he began a 10-year run in 1991 with EMI-Capitol recording artist Anita Sarawak and her band The American Dream, including a Caesar’s Palace residency and numerous concert/tour appearances in Asia. Mundo has also performed with Brian McKnight, Sheena Easton, David Coverdale (Whitesnake), Demi Lovato, Sophie B. Hawkins, Bill Champlin (of Chicago), Melissa Manchester, Crystal Gayle, David Bisbal, Pablo Alboran, The Commodores, Wayne Newton, and Wayne Brady (among others); as well as some of Las Vegas’ biggest production shows like Storm, Mamma Mia, and Le Reve.

As a session guitarist he’s recorded tracks (mostly from his studio Ka Hale Ilio) for all types of projects: Broadway shows, Albums, Industrials, Cruise Ships, and Film.

As a sought-out guitar instructor, he’s taught guitarists at all levels, from beginner to touring pro (in the US and Japan), and has released 3 instructional guitar videos and one book. Besides Zoom teaching he has a new TrueFire channel called “The Working Guitarist.”

Most recently, Mundo has changed course to expand his art by learning new picking techniques, new harmonic concepts, and re-inventing himself as a gypsy jazz artist in the band Hot Club of Las Vegas. He plans to release “Quarantunes” the fourth Hot Club of Las Vegas album in 2021. His latest recording is with a rock trio called the Amazing Wannabees!, which includes Pepe Jimenez (Santana) on drums, and Danny Miranda (Queen,Blue Oyster Cult, Meat Loaf) on bass.
