Been using the term “trailblazer” too lightly? Well, here’s why you shouldn’t:

‘Cause then, you’ll have to invent a better word for my guest Mae Krier, who could VERY WELL be the SOURCE of THAT AND EVERY other uplifting word for women everywhere! From starting her work with Boeing in Seattle as young as 17 years, Mae was one of the youngest and original Rosies of the WWII era who worked as a riveter on some of the most important airplanes in history; the B-17, and B-29 aircraft.  Mae talks about what was happening in America during those times including the great depression, and the dust bowl, and what it was like to be one of many Rosies called to step up and work in factories as American men were called to fight, leaving the factories empty. Women across America rolled up their sleeves and filled those jobs and answered not only the world but America's call during one of its greatest times of need.  Mae and her colleague's hard work and dedication were infectious while keeping our troops equipped with aircraft as they faced some of the most challenging battles of Hilter's Military. Women really stepped up to do their part and serve and she tells some great stories about what it was like in those days to be a woman in a man's world.

Now, at the incredible age of 97, Mae is still leading the way for many others to reach for the stars. If that didn’t cause you to slip off the chair, know that she's still traveling all the way from Pennsylvania across the country and internationally to France and The Netherlands continuing to share her story, inspire the generations ahead and keep the legacy of the Rosies alive.

When you listen to her speak, you’ll hear her message echo loud and clear - no matter your age or background, you HAVE the power to make a difference in the world and you can absolutely fulfill all your dreams in life if you believe and work for it. Today, she discusses a number of lessons she’s gathered in her life and the changes she wishes society to bring in, including cultivating respect, the importance of knowing one's history and ancestry, creation as one of the most important joys of a woman, the strength of women, especially from her generation, who often had to carry a lot of responsibility and be everything to everyone, and how to help and support one another in this one precious life!

Mae’s tireless efforts to encourage young women to pursue their passions have left an indelible mark on our world. She is a true role model and a living legend who proves that with determination and hard work, anything is possible!
