1:56

Thanks for watching! that

2:00

their publicist wrote us and said that they were

2:02

huge fans of the show when they listened when

2:04

they were on the road. Oh that's

2:07

nice. And they invited us out to a show

2:09

and everything and apparently they're pretty big there I

2:11

guess a country band. Nice. But they you know

2:13

been with a lot of the big acts that

2:15

they're opening up for them and stuff. Oh

2:18

man that's exciting. Yes it is.

2:20

The band is called Blank Range and they've

2:23

opened up for people like Tyler Childress who's

2:25

about as hot a name and country as there is these

2:27

days. So anyway

2:29

so they invited us out to a show and they

2:31

got a new album coming out January and February so

2:34

if you get a chance check them out. Alright. Okay.

2:39

I'm gonna mention this now even though we

2:41

don't have full details but in August I

2:44

believe even though I said July on the website

2:46

but me and Justin are changing. Myself, Tracy,

2:49

and Justin Rimmel will

2:51

be in Atchison, Kansas home

2:53

of the infamous Sally House and

2:57

we're working with the director of

2:59

tourism Maria up in Atchison

3:02

and we're gonna set up a live event where

3:04

we're gonna do a show we're gonna tours of the

3:06

Sally House maybe some other haunted locations there they got

3:08

all kinds of haunted locations in Atchison. That's what I

3:11

hear. It's not too far from Kansas City so

3:15

keep an ear out once we get

3:17

all the details worked out which hopefully be in

3:19

the next couple weeks we'll put

3:21

tickets on sale and make it a nice little

3:23

summer event right before everybody goes back to school.

3:25

Man that sounds fun almost I think. I don't

3:28

know about the Sally House thing though. It's kind of freaking

3:30

me out just a little. Yeah they you know

3:32

we did a story on Sally House a while

3:34

back and then Astonishing Legends

3:37

has done a two-parter on

3:40

there and they they went out there for

3:42

the Amelia Earhart festival when

3:44

they toured Sally House which was a

3:46

big flattering to us because Forrest Burgess

3:48

from that show wrote me and

3:51

said on their way out to the Amelia

3:53

Earhart festival he listened to our episode on

3:55

the Sally House to kind of get

3:57

ready for it and now they've done their own episode

3:59

and they when they were out there

4:01

they caught an EVP that you just

4:03

gotta hear. So go to Astonishing Legends

4:06

and listen to their show. If

4:08

you want to get geared up for this live

4:10

event go listen to their show and especially part

4:12

two when they get to the EVP and

4:14

you're either going to be completely scared away where you have

4:17

no intentions on going anywhere near the state of

4:19

Kansas or you're going to want

4:21

to be at this event so you can experience but

4:24

we're not experience what they experienced. So okay

4:27

while we're on the subject of haunted

4:30

ass places we've

4:32

talked before about Savannah, Georgia and

4:36

it's notorious for being one of the most haunted

4:38

cities in America and for good reason.

4:41

Obviously you got places like

4:43

Bonaventure Cemetery, O'Chandler Hospital,

4:46

Moon River Brewing Company which we've done a show

4:48

on. So you have

4:51

paranormal enthusiasts basically planning their next

4:53

big trips after

4:55

you know you can do five big trips to the city.

4:59

But one of these

5:01

places that would have been on your list a

5:04

couple of years ago can no

5:06

longer be on your list. Why? Well

5:10

it's been demolished. They tore it

5:12

down. Oh dang. In like February

5:14

of this year. Oh this year? Of

5:16

this year. Man we just missed it. So

5:18

we're going to talk a little about about the

5:21

old Chatham County Jail.

5:24

So the Chatham County Sheriff's Department is one of

5:26

the oldest in the entire country. It was established

5:28

in 1737. Now how old is that? Damn 1737.

5:34

That's so old that's 56 years

5:36

before the title of sheriff was even adopted.

5:41

So the city moved the jail off

5:43

of a Chandler way back

5:45

in around the mid 70s but for decades

5:47

the old Chatham County Jail served

5:51

more than 300 inmates each and every day

5:54

and it was right there on Montgomery at the corner of

5:56

Montgomery Street which we'll get in a little more detail about

5:58

that. As you would expect both the

6:00

building and its inhabitants have seen their fair

6:02

share of trouble being a prison. The

6:05

jail was located at the corner of Oglethorpe

6:07

Avenue Montgomery Street. The old jails

6:09

even said to have its share of hangings

6:11

there, though I couldn't find anything

6:15

that would verify that

6:17

there actually was hangings, which is odd

6:20

considering that... That's what they

6:22

did back in the day. Well that, and you're only talking

6:24

about, you know, this place was in

6:26

the 70s. So

6:28

when they first moved in here it was like

6:30

1978, so it's not like we're talking ancient times.

6:33

So they were there from like 78 to 89. We're

6:36

going to talk in 10, 11, 12 years. Right. But

6:39

anyway, so it was torn down. Well that's a little bit more

6:41

years than that. Right. Well... Your math

6:43

is a little off. What?

6:46

It was like 78 to 89 or 75 to 89. That's like 15 years and

6:48

stuff. Yeah,

6:50

I guess so. But anyway, it was torn

6:52

down in February of 2018 like we said. This

6:56

actual structure itself was built

6:58

in 1978 and the original jail was

7:01

at Harberstom Street next to the police station

7:03

and that jail was there for 90 years

7:05

before it moved here. 90

7:07

years, wow. So after the prison closed

7:09

in 1989, it was

7:11

turned into a makeshift, I guess, storage center

7:13

for city archives. So that's where they would

7:15

keep all their records and stuff like that.

7:19

Now this is about the time that rumors

7:21

started about strange activity inside

7:23

the walls that started to spread throughout

7:25

the paranormal community. So

7:28

not only were employees experiencing

7:30

disembodied voices, phantom footsteps, and

7:32

overwhelming feeling that they were

7:34

being watched, they

7:36

were also being touched, pushed,

7:38

and in some cases even

7:41

thrown against walls by an invisible force.

7:43

Man, that's some major skills.

7:46

So by 2006, Ochadum was abandoned

7:48

and it didn't take long for

7:50

paranormal researchers to kind of begin

7:52

asking if they could investigate all

7:55

the claims that were being made about the jail. So

7:57

over the years, a number of ghost hunting teams... have

8:00

collected paranormal evidence that range from thermal

8:02

video of ghostly figures to spooky

8:05

EVP recordings to full-blown

8:07

paranormal activity. Now

8:10

in one instance a hundred and fifty pound metal

8:12

plate flung itself across

8:14

the room and smashed into the opposite

8:17

wall. This was in full

8:19

view of a group of people. Oh

8:22

my gosh! So

8:24

most of the ghost phenomena that we talk

8:26

about here, though frightening

8:29

to most of the witnesses, was more

8:31

or less harmless. Objects

8:34

moving, lights flickering, bumps, you

8:36

know, noises, stuff like that. Occasionally

8:39

they would find like a faint apparition,

8:41

but nothing to be scared of. Most

8:43

of this was for the most part

8:45

innocent. Well at least they entertained them

8:47

at least. What you would think? I

8:50

mean seriously, I mean that's what they came, well maybe not

8:52

some of them came there for that, but you

8:55

know what I'm saying? At least they

8:57

said hey, look at me. However,

9:02

there were times where there were entities that

9:05

showcased themselves that were decidedly way

9:08

more vicious than the other ones that we just talked

9:10

about. One of these could

9:12

be found at the old Chetum County Jail. We're

9:16

gonna talk a little bit more about that one a

9:18

little bit later because he's got his own little special

9:21

story. So when it

9:23

first became an archive, a

9:27

lot of the employees were terrorized by

9:29

phantom shouts, bangs

9:31

on the walls, elevator doors that

9:33

would open and close, and

9:36

that's kind of what they had. Now of course we touched

9:38

on the unseen hands pushing and shoving employees. These

9:40

types of occurrences happened all the way up

9:43

to the demolition. Visitors

9:45

and workers would report a thick

9:48

pervasive cloud of dread that

9:51

seemed to hang over everything in there. That's

9:54

the way I feel every day going to work. was

10:00

he woo woo. Major

10:02

Russell Smith from the Chatham County Sheriff's

10:05

Department, he worked there from in 1989

10:07

and 1990. He said it was

10:09

a kind of a weird place back then. He

10:12

said he worked a midnight shift. It

10:14

was dark and very echoing in the

10:16

hallways. He said you'd hear a door

10:18

slam or footsteps in the stairwell but

10:21

then there would be nobody there and

10:23

they would you know always go and kind of try to check it out you

10:25

know because you're trying to be a safe place you're

10:27

working third shift. Anything that's in

10:29

there you're just going to be you

10:31

know check on just to see what the situation

10:34

is. He said it's definitely weird there. I guess

10:36

your mind kind of plays tricks on you after

10:38

a while. Oh I'm sure. Okay so I teased

10:40

this a little bit earlier. I said there was a

10:42

certain entity that was a little more on the

10:44

vicious side we talk about a little bit later. That

10:47

entity would be Carl Isaacs and

10:50

let me just say ahead of

10:52

time Carl Isaacs was quite the

10:54

jerk. Mm-hmm. He

10:56

said to be the most violent spirit in the old

10:59

jail and you're going to hear why. So

11:01

Carl had a violent past. Obviously he was an

11:03

inmate here but that wasn't his first

11:05

brush with law and it definitely wasn't his first time in

11:08

jail. As a matter of fact he had

11:10

already spent time in Maryland but he escaped in 1973

11:12

with two other guys. So the

11:15

three stole a car and they headed

11:17

towards Florida. Well wouldn't you know they

11:19

ran out of gas in rural Georgia and they decided

11:21

to you know steal gas too. About

11:24

that time Carl happened to look over and

11:27

he saw a mobile home that caught his attention.

11:30

Obviously he decided hey let's go rob the

11:33

family who lives there and

11:36

this family's name was

11:38

the Aldays. A-L-D-A-Y-S. Well

11:42

when they first got there there was nobody in the

11:45

home so they're just rummaging through some

11:47

stuff. Well then six

11:49

people of that family came home at the

11:51

same time. Five men one woman.

11:55

This thing got way out of control and instead

11:58

of being just a run-of-the-mill robbery. they

12:00

turned into a massacre. All

12:04

five of the all-day family men

12:07

were shot dead. Oh my lord. Mary

12:09

all day the one

12:11

female the group was brutally gang-raped

12:14

killed and unceremoniously dumped in the

12:16

woods. So

12:18

at the time the grizzly murder shocked the entire

12:20

nation's. Eventually all three men

12:22

were captured in West Virginia a few

12:24

days later and Isaac was

12:26

sentenced to death. As

12:28

he tried to fight the court with all

12:30

of his appeals and everything he was imprisoned

12:32

in the old Chatham County Jail. He

12:35

spent decades here before he was finally put to death

12:37

by lethal injection in 2003. 30 years. Ridiculous. As a

12:39

matter of fact to this day

12:46

he is the he's

12:49

the person on death row that spent the

12:51

longest amount of time on death row before

12:54

execution. Yeah how ridiculous is that? So it's

12:57

no surprise that Isaac his

12:59

old cell there is actually considered to be the

13:02

most intensely haunted part of the jail. Well how

13:05

in the world was it Isaac and somebody

13:07

else just like one person? No it was

13:10

three people. He escaped with two people. I was

13:12

gonna say how in the world they took over

13:14

and killed three men like or I mean six

13:16

men like that. Five men. Or five and one

13:18

woman that's that's just horrible and why in the

13:20

hell is he sitting in death row like that

13:22

for so long? Well that's the problem. I mean

13:24

I say that all the time it

13:26

doesn't matter if you're for the death penalty or against

13:29

the death penalty it doesn't matter if you're going to

13:31

have a death penalty it's pointless if

13:33

it takes you 30 years to execute somebody. You're

13:35

still living your life getting food and shelter.

13:37

Yeah on living on our tax dollars. Yeah

13:39

you know and and my opinion has changed

13:41

on the death penalty as I've got an

13:44

odor. I used to be a super big

13:46

advocate for it and then I

13:48

guess now I've seen people that were wrongly

13:50

accused and that comes into mind but in

13:52

a situation like this this

13:55

is a guy who really did something

13:57

admitted to it no you

13:59

know if fans or butts about him who

14:01

committed the crime and

14:03

a brutal crime that

14:06

should have been done in the

14:08

year within a year yeah absolutely

14:10

there's no way that's something I guess you take 30

14:12

I mean it doesn't matter whether you confess or not you're

14:14

still gonna do what the hell you they wanted you to

14:16

do basically yeah so that's just my

14:18

opinion on it well there are certain times where

14:21

there's no need to take 30 damn years no

14:23

there's no reason to ever take 30 years no

14:26

I can't now I mean if you can't have

14:28

it figured out in 10 years or five years

14:30

I mean that's just the way it is now

14:32

old Isaac obviously I said he was a jerk

14:35

and you can see yeah he's a dickhead so

14:37

it seems sorry okay it seems

14:40

that his spirit was just as hateful and nasty

14:42

in the afterlife as it was during his living

14:44

life so

14:47

lucky people report being accosted

14:50

by an oppressive wave of

14:52

dread and malevolence that

14:54

said to be absolutely staggering

14:57

those are lucky people I wonder if

14:59

you could kick a ghost in the nuts and

15:02

it would hurt what do you think I'm

15:04

sure you probably could well we should kick

15:06

him in the nads or

15:08

twist him off they say that even

15:11

outside of his cell you can feel the

15:13

intense sinister energy kind of reaching out yeah

15:15

I'm just lingers it's

15:18

said to feel like a sense of total

15:20

hatred so you could see

15:22

that well he

15:25

shouldn't have been a dick and then we did so

15:27

now I said those are lucky people people who

15:29

are less lucky are pushed

15:32

clawed punched bitten

15:35

or had their hair pulled by the unseen entity I

15:38

would haul around and punch him right in his face

15:41

all up in his no existing looking

15:44

face so these

15:46

attacks would only stop if the victim could

15:48

somehow get out of the cell the

15:51

chatham jail had been a haven for

15:53

paranormal investigators who claimed that the building

15:55

had some of the most active EVP

15:57

sessions and other types of readings that they

16:00

they had ever seen. Ryan Dunn

16:02

from the Savannah Ghost Research Society

16:04

said that on an overnight

16:06

stay they had one time, he recorded numerous

16:08

audio recordings, over 50 of

16:11

them in one night had EVPs. Oh wow.

16:14

He had voices saying their names,

16:18

telling the team to go away. One

16:20

voice said, look at me. Another said,

16:23

shit, where

16:25

are you guys at? They

16:28

got their nerve cursing on a girl's face. Oh

16:30

yeah. Another said, was

16:32

that an alarm? They

16:35

also picked up lots of thermal images of

16:37

a shadow figure that was crouching and lingering

16:40

around the corridors of the cells. Dunn

16:43

said that it was very unsettling. This shadow

16:45

figure was walking back and forth in the

16:47

halls and Corey got a photo

16:49

of it. It was a thermal

16:51

photo so we could even see that

16:54

it came into a cell, crouched down,

16:57

then stood up and walked right back out. Dunn

17:01

said it was probably the most haunted

17:03

place in Savannah, though it's hard to

17:05

judge, obviously. But he said as

17:07

far as hardcore evidence that they

17:09

brought back from an investigation, they caught more

17:11

audio files than any other place that they

17:13

had ever been. And

17:16

so it's definitely without a doubt, a haunted place

17:18

as far as he's concerned. So

17:22

in a prison, it's expected to get a few

17:24

things, like that, but he said

17:26

nothing like they got. It was

17:28

just absolutely amazing. He said this was

17:30

successful. If people don't believe, I highly

17:33

recommend that they come out and at

17:35

least experience it, which you can't do now.

17:38

So considering the negative, I

17:41

guess the energy, sinister energy that's

17:43

in their place, along with

17:45

the hangings that supposedly took place, the

17:47

notoriety of the famous inmate Carl Isaac,

17:51

perhaps the old Chatham jail was a haunted place

17:54

as ever ever was in Georgia. And

17:56

if that's the case, perhaps it's better that the old

17:58

jail was torn down. Yeah. Yeah, definitely. I

18:00

wonder if Charles Manson haunts. I

18:03

don't know. You

18:05

would think if anybody would, he would. It would

18:07

be him, yeah. But you know, like a funny

18:09

story, not so much funny story, but I guess

18:11

thought on this. So what happens when they tear

18:13

this place down? What happens to the spirit that

18:16

is inside there? That's what I wanna know. Cause

18:19

they're gonna build a new building right there. I mean,

18:21

is he gonna just rise up in the rubble from?

18:24

I mean, cause they tore the place down and

18:27

they're building some kind of a new municipal building

18:29

or something there. So I mean, is he

18:31

gonna stay with the property? Is he gonna haunt the new place?

18:33

You see that all the time. They

18:35

get rid of the old or. He just needs to get

18:38

over it and go to hell or

18:40

whatever he's doing. Just

18:42

leave everybody alone. So

18:44

anyway, that's the story with the old Chatham

18:46

jail. Yikes, that's pretty scary. Maybe

18:49

I've done a couple of stories from Savannah. Just seems

18:51

like there's no shortage of stories from Savannah. Yeah, well

18:54

hopefully he don't stay around and I

18:57

don't know. What do you say

18:59

we do another story, but this one in Indiana?

19:03

Sounds good to me. The

19:05

funny thing about this story

19:07

though, cause when I tell you that

19:09

the house is nicknamed the Demon House and

19:12

it's in Indiana, most people would

19:14

assume it's the one that Zach Beggins bought

19:17

and tore down because that was also known as

19:19

the Demon House. But that was

19:21

in Gary, Indiana. This one is

19:23

in a completely different place. In

19:26

most parts of the country, you could pretty much throw a

19:28

stone in any direction and hit a haunted house, right? But

19:31

few of them have ever had histories horrifying

19:33

enough to earn them the nickname Demon House.

19:37

The Monroe House is the exception,

19:39

obviously. Hidden away

19:41

in a quiet section of Hartford City,

19:43

Indiana, this mysterious White House has been

19:45

the center of violent haunting that has

19:47

caused paranormal investigators to flee the building

19:50

in fear and left the police

19:52

in the middle of a potential crime scene. So

19:55

when it comes to hauntings of Indiana's Monroe House,

19:58

they're countless firsthand experiences. from paranormal

20:00

investigators that would turn anyone's hair

20:02

white. But the

20:04

encounters reported by the unfortunate souls who lived

20:07

in the demon house are even more chilling.

20:09

So according to the locals, a strange house

20:11

on Monroe Street has

20:13

had nothing but negative attached to it

20:16

for well over a century. Wow. Well,

20:18

you know, you've seen one demon house, you've seen them all,

20:20

right? Yeah, pretty much. If Zach Bagans

20:22

finds out about this, he'll be trying to... He'll try to be

20:25

bad in that house too. Let's get on the subject of Zach

20:27

Bagans. So somebody posted

20:30

in our group today about

20:33

they had to make a confession that they were

20:35

watching Ghost Adventures last night. Oh.

20:40

Well I will have you know

20:43

that I watched a movie and the movie went off and

20:45

I flipped it over for a few minutes and we were

20:47

near the end because it was a live special. And

20:50

you know, he's got that haunted museum in Las Vegas

20:52

and that's where they were doing is from inside his

20:54

museum. What

20:57

a crock of shit. Uh oh.

20:59

Look, so I turn

21:01

it on at the end and he's talking about the Dimmick

21:03

Box. Remember we've done the story on the Dimmick Box, the

21:06

wine case and all that stuff. First

21:09

of all, that story pretty much is a

21:11

made up story. Yeah,

21:13

the guy had the wine case that he

21:15

called a Dimmick Box, but it's pretty much

21:17

told. That guy was an author. He wrote

21:19

the story. He put it up on eBay.

21:22

It was a cool story, but that's all it was.

21:25

So Zach now has it. He's

21:28

got it in his museum and I think it

21:30

was Aaron. And

21:33

so I didn't get to see the very beginning, but when I

21:35

did flip it, I think it was Aaron in there. So

21:38

they got this Dimmick Box and they got a circle

21:40

of salt around it. It's sitting up on a table.

21:42

They got a circle of salt and

21:45

Zach's talking to, they're bringing a rabbi.

21:48

So the rabbi comes in and it's kind of funny.

21:50

So the rabbi comes to the door and Zach's

21:52

talking to him and he's like, you know, what

21:54

do you know about the Dimmicks? And

21:57

he said, and the rabbi basically said nothing until

21:59

earlier today. I started reading up on it.

22:02

It's like, Oh, that's worked out great. Let me bring

22:04

somebody in and basically said he knew nothing. So

22:06

then he's just saying, well,

22:09

what do you think, man? You think there's something to

22:11

this and the rabbi was like, no, I don't really

22:13

think there's anything to it. I don't think it's something

22:15

like, I'm like, surely the

22:17

guys and he's all calm and everything

22:19

while Zach's being all over dramatic. And

22:21

what do you think about this? So

22:23

anyways, so then it flips back and,

22:26

and, and you got the guys in there and

22:28

one of them's got like an iPad. So they're

22:30

using some kind of device. I don't know if it was

22:32

an ovilus or what on an iPad. So

22:34

stuff would write out. And then the other one had a

22:37

ghost box and they were like, you

22:39

know, should I open the box and let you

22:41

out? And then they were like, Oh wait, did

22:43

you hear what it said? It said, it said

22:45

salt, you know, it's like, well, I should I

22:47

move some of this? And I was like, this

22:49

thing was so dramatic. And

22:52

I was, and the whole time I'm like, I

22:54

cannot believe I'm watching this. This just the 10

22:56

minutes that I spent on that just

22:59

proved the point of what

23:01

a crock of shit that show is period. Dang.

23:06

So, and I'll guarantee anybody else who

23:08

watched that was probably like, yeah,

23:12

after it was all said and done, I can kind of see that

23:14

it's just, it was way over

23:16

the top. Well, he just

23:18

into his thing. That's all. Yeah.

23:21

Well, but see, that's the

23:23

whole thing. If you're into paranormal, like most

23:25

people listening to these shows, I think

23:27

you want it to be true. And

23:29

I don't mean true, like every story is true, but I

23:31

mean, I think you want it to be genuine and

23:34

he just doesn't come across as genuine. And a

23:36

lot of these go shows, it's not just his

23:38

show. A lot of these go shows, which is

23:40

why I quit watching most of them don't come

23:42

across as genuine. Now, like Amy and Adam show

23:44

kindred spirits, that one does come across as genuine

23:47

and you know, a few others, but for

23:49

the most part, most of those, I just, I don't

23:51

know. Anyways, let me get back to what

23:54

we're doing. So for researchers

23:56

have been able to gather, the original

23:58

foundation of the Monroe house. was built

24:00

sometime around the mid 1800s. And

24:02

since to that day, the soil was

24:04

broken. Countless people involved with that home

24:07

have experienced strange activity that paranormal investigators

24:09

have described as demonic. Previous

24:12

owners have been chased out of the building by

24:14

shadowy figures that have no human

24:16

features. Unexplainable fires

24:19

have spontaneously manifested in the

24:21

basement. Disembodied voices

24:23

echo all through the hallways and even

24:25

a number of mysterious deaths have occurred

24:28

inside Monroe House. I

24:31

think I'm seeing another place to do a live event. Heh

24:33

heh heh. You're just

24:35

determined to get me possessed, aren't you? I am,

24:37

like Zach. He gets possessed, he goes to get a

24:40

sandwich and gets possessed by the refrigerator. Ha

24:42

ha ha ha ha. Stop. I'm serious. Stop

24:44

picking on him. Ha ha ha. Researchers

24:47

point to former tenants kind of fiddling around with

24:49

the cult rituals in the 1990s as

24:52

the potential cause for the Demon House's

24:54

nefarious activity. Others

24:57

say though the strange phenomenon began as early as

24:59

the 1930s when the house was

25:01

owned by a Belgian family who began to

25:03

report ghostly visitations at their home at the

25:05

time. So while theories

25:07

on how the paranormal activity inside the Monroe

25:09

House began are kind of varied,

25:12

there is one thing that nearly all the

25:14

buildings investigators can agree on. There

25:17

are some seriously bad vibes in

25:19

the basement. So

25:22

in 2014, a team of ghost hunters decided

25:24

to spend the night investigating the Monroe House.

25:27

What could go wrong there, right? So

25:29

they had come with the intention of crossing

25:31

over the spirit of a young child that

25:34

reportedly haunted the building. Their investigation

25:36

remained relatively routine until

25:38

they reached the basement when things went south. So

25:41

let me ask you this before we get any

25:43

further in the story. What

25:45

are your thoughts on crossing

25:48

over a spirit? I

25:53

think it's, I mean, I think

25:55

it's a good thing. But I

25:57

mean, if you listen to like the episode, did

26:01

when we had Kim

26:04

Russo on. She,

26:07

go ahead, sorry. Well, she kind of made

26:11

me think of things a little bit different. Now she

26:13

kind of made it like it's

26:15

up to the spirit, whether they want to cross over

26:17

or not. And maybe some spirits just don't want to

26:19

cross over. They'd rather just stay around. So

26:23

I don't necessarily- Well, I was gonna say maybe it

26:25

was different. Maybe little kids don't

26:27

realize. Adults might be

26:29

different. And that's probably true. But

26:32

I mean, I'm just kind of thinking that

26:35

it's none of our business. If they want to hang

26:37

around, to try to make them cross over. No,

26:39

I mean, I agree to that point. But like

26:41

I say, I think when it's a child that

26:44

they don't understand, you know? But

26:47

I think though a lot of us, at least

26:49

that's the way I thought before was like, if

26:51

you weren't crossed over, you were just kind of like stuck and

26:53

you didn't know any different. You didn't know- But that's not brilliant.

26:55

But that may not be the case. It may be the case

26:57

that you know exactly where you're at. You just don't want to

26:59

go. Yeah, I can understand that. It's

27:02

like me with work. I know I gotta

27:04

go to work. I don't want to. Yeah. But

27:07

anyways. You've

27:10

mentioned that a couple of times, by the way. Oh,

27:13

had I? Yes, you have. So

27:16

this is what they said after they, you

27:19

know what they always said that, you know, when they got to the basement, things kind of

27:21

went south. They said, we had a very bad encounter

27:23

in the basement. Didn't know what to do. This

27:26

was something that we had never seen before. It

27:30

caused everybody to panic and we decided to call

27:32

off the investigation early. Oh God, what was it?

27:35

Half of the group said this was too much for

27:37

them. The other half wanted answers.

27:40

We realized that how serious and how big

27:42

this was. And at the same time was

27:44

convinced that we were not experienced enough to

27:46

do anything that was in a

27:49

house like this. Dang.

27:52

So the team never returned. Oh my

27:54

gosh. They didn't find out

27:56

nothing. Apparently not. Whoa. Now

27:59

just a year earlier. The EVP

28:01

paranormal team of Indiana had spent the

28:03

night investigating home. Oh gosh, I just don't

28:05

know if I could do that. They

28:08

were leaving one researcher to

28:11

say that she had never witnessed so

28:14

much paranormal activity in one location. She

28:17

said it by herself? No, she

28:20

didn't say it by herself, but she was just wanting

28:22

to make the comment. Gotcha. She

28:24

said during their ghost hunt they collected recordings of

28:26

ghostly voices telling them to get out, die,

28:29

and pray for us. Wait.

28:33

The ghost said for you to die and get

28:36

out, but then the ghost in return said pray

28:38

for us. Probably wouldn't the same ghost. Oh,

28:40

that's gonna sick. It was probably different spirits. That does make

28:42

no sense. Yeah, because that's not really... That's

28:46

not beneficial to tell somebody to die and then ask them to pray

28:48

for you. Well yeah, that was rude. But

28:52

much like the other teams who had searched the house,

28:56

their scariest moment came during their

28:58

trip to the basement. Oh my

29:00

lord. Dun dun dun. I don't

29:02

like basements. The

29:04

team was kind of interested

29:06

in seeking out the ghost of the child that

29:09

many believe was killed by one of the property's

29:11

mysterious fires. As they made their way

29:13

to the basement, they took notice of

29:15

a charred support beam where

29:18

one of these fires had allegedly started. Since

29:20

the investigators kind of snapped photos of the

29:22

blackened beam, the lights in the building began

29:24

to flicker before turning off completely. Oh

29:27

gosh. This obviously

29:29

left the ghost hunters trapped in a pitch

29:31

darkness. Suddenly

29:34

one investigator screamed, sent the team

29:36

scrambling upstairs. We

29:41

can just picture that all in the dark and

29:44

run over each other and get the stamps. Once

29:46

they found themselves back in the light,

29:48

they discovered three long scratches down the

29:50

back of their newest investigator who described

29:52

the feeling of a hand reaching to

29:54

her from the darkness. She

29:57

refused to continue the investigation. I

30:00

would get the hell out of there. Scratch

30:02

my back. You know when you're really

31:01

31:05

comes from somebody who actually lived there. I

31:09

lived upstairs a long time ago, and

31:11

I can say there is something very real and

31:14

possibly demonic. I don't care how

31:16

many ghost hunters have been in there, and what they

31:18

believe. You have to live there. I

31:21

read some of the stuff investigators have said, and

31:23

some of it got pretty close, but you cannot

31:25

go in there for a night and

31:27

know how bad it is. I

31:29

lived there, and it started

31:31

very slow, and then it got worse. I

31:34

thought in the beginning that it was just irregular noises

31:36

that I heard, but

31:38

at the end, I left. That

31:41

was from Anonymous. In

31:44

August 2016, Hartford City, Indiana,

31:46

locals began to see film crews

31:48

and police cars gathered around the

31:50

building, and rumors that bodies had

31:52

been discovered in the infamous Monroe

31:54

House. Those rumors

31:56

kinda started to spread all throughout the community. As

31:58

it turns out. Ghost

32:00

hunters Nick Groff and Katrina Wiedemann were

32:03

in town for their second season premiere of

32:05

Paranormal Lockdown. Of course

32:07

they were doing it at the Demon House. After

32:10

72 hours locked inside they made a horrifying

32:13

discovery. Human remains were

32:15

buried in the basement crawlspace. Did

32:18

we watch that on TV? I don't think

32:20

so. I felt like we did. No. No,

32:23

no. It just seems familiar.

32:25

In Paranormal Lockdown, well, Nick Groff of

32:27

course started off on Ghost Adventures with

32:30

Zack, so I tend not to watch that stuff either. But

32:33

that is a better show though than Ghost

32:35

Hunters. So they found bodies in the crawlspace?

32:37

Is that what you said? That's what they

32:39

said. They found some type of human remains

32:41

in the crawlspace. So

32:43

it's said that Nick

32:46

and Katrina got right into the belly

32:48

of the beast where they spent three days chasing them in

32:50

the house's activities. And by the

32:52

end of their investigation, not only did they

32:54

manage to capture some pretty impressive paranormal evidence,

32:56

but the entire episode builds toward the shocking

32:58

discovery of human bones hidden in the basement

33:00

of the treacherous home, officially

33:03

beginning a police investigation. So

33:06

could the human remains be the source of all the violent

33:08

activity in the building's basement? It seems likely, but only

33:10

time will tell. Since

33:13

the Monroe House is so paranormal active, the

33:15

property owners have kept the location open

33:17

to investigators and teams looking

33:20

to help them get to the bottom of the building.

33:22

Strange phenomenon. Not that I think

33:24

I need to stress this point, but

33:26

only experienced investigators really need to apply

33:28

there. Well, I

33:32

mean, I guess it's a good thing they

33:34

found the remains. That way they

33:37

can maybe put a name to it, hopefully. And,

33:39

you know, if it could be closure for somebody, I think

33:42

I'd be creeped out pretty much living there and didn't

33:44

know them, you know, bones

33:47

were in that crawlspace. No, I

33:49

can understand that, too. So things

33:51

that shows like Paranormal Lockdown in the house and its attachments,

33:54

whoever or whatever they are, are about to be

33:56

thrust into the limelight, which

33:58

will hopefully draw the attention to some seasoned

34:00

people. paranormal investigators who can continue to document

34:02

and potentially solve the activity that has plagued

34:04

the house for a hundred years. For

34:07

now though, Indiana's Monroe House remains exceptionally

34:10

active and shows no signs

34:12

of slowing down. Oh my gosh. That

34:15

is so crazy. What do you think about that? Could

34:19

you do that, spend the night in one of those houses? You

34:22

know, I could do anything if

34:25

I'm with a group. Yeah, there

34:27

is no way in tarnation I could do

34:29

that I don't know that

34:31

I could do it if it was like me and you or

34:33

me and somebody else. No, no, no, I couldn't do it. I

34:35

don't think I could do it. Now, if it was like me

34:37

and Justin Rimmel, because

34:40

I would probably strangle him and leave him in the

34:43

basement and he would just disappear. You

34:45

love him, don't be clear. But,

34:48

don't be talking about my boy. But no, like me and Justin,

34:50

we could sit there and BS the whole night so I could

34:52

get through it. Yeah, but I mean, I could see that. It

34:54

would have to be somebody like that. But if

34:56

it was like me and a total stranger, I don't know that

34:58

I could do it. Now, if it was three or four of us,

35:01

I can handle it no matter who it was. But it would

35:03

have to be. I would just feel more comfortable in a group.

35:06

I would too, yeah. I don't even think just me and another

35:08

person. I need wing men when I go to a ghost place.

35:11

Now, if I'm just, granted,

35:13

if I went there right now and I just walk through,

35:16

I could walk through it by myself and wouldn't have a

35:18

problem. Yeah, but you'd

35:20

be walking like briskly. Probably,

35:22

probably. Like, okay, so you didn't,

35:24

bye, see you later, see you later. Yeah, but I

35:27

could go into the place. And if it was daytime. I

35:30

could stay in there, but just something about nighttime. Oh,

35:32

of course. I mean, God, I don't know. I

35:34

just think it takes a very brave people to do that

35:37

and more power to them. But yeah, I'm

35:39

not in for that. Not

35:42

at all. But that was a really good

35:44

story. I thought it was a pretty cool story.

35:47

And I would, I'm probably gonna go back and

35:49

watch that episode of Paranormal Lockdown. Yeah, definitely. And

35:51

I hope that they find out who those people

35:53

were because that's so sad. And if you guys

35:55

are interested, it's the second season, episode seven. So

35:59

I'm gonna tell you. exactly which one it is to go through

36:01

much. Which I do like

36:03

the idea of that show. And I don't

36:05

know if it's still on or not. I

36:07

mean, it may very well

36:09

be because it hadn't been that long ago. It started like 2015.

36:13

But, or 14, I think it was 2014 when

36:16

he left Ghost Adventures. But,

36:18

what I like about that

36:20

show is they do

36:22

spend 72 hours. Where everybody else goes

36:24

to spend the night. They spend three days there. Yeah,

36:26

that is so great. And I know him and Katrina,

36:28

Nick and Katrina, they split up. So like one of

36:30

them will spend the night in one room by themselves.

36:33

Like maybe on the second floor. And one of

36:35

them will spend the night by themselves. So they're

36:37

not together. Oh my gosh, she's so brave. So

36:40

it's kind of cool to be able to see

36:42

that that's their approaches. These two stories were intense.

36:44

Like I'm all hyped up now over

36:46

it. Like my butt

36:48

cheeks are clenched and everything. And by the

36:50

way, I'm a big Aaron Mankie fan.

36:54

Oh. The lore TV show

36:56

sucks. Oh my gosh. It sucks.

36:59

I mean, I know I watched two, three of

37:01

them, I think. Well, you know, I watched the

37:03

first season and I liked a

37:06

decent chunk of them. I think of the six stories,

37:08

I liked like four of them. But

37:10

then like, and like I

37:12

said, this isn't a knock against Aaron because I don't know

37:16

who makes all the, I know it's based on his show and

37:18

I know he's got some saved. I don't know if he's got

37:20

complete say over it. I mean, I thought the stories were good

37:22

myself. Well, I mean, okay, I thought the

37:25

stories are good. But like,

37:28

for example, the first story has to

37:30

do with Burke and, how?

37:34

I can't remember what they got the name. Burke and Hare,

37:37

which were the two guys that were notorious grave

37:39

robbers and were killing people. But

37:41

like, when you listen to the story,

37:44

like even on his podcast, it seems

37:46

really creepy and it

37:48

seems eerie. And it's

37:51

like, wow. But then

37:53

on the TV show, it's

37:55

almost like it's a lot of music and it's

37:57

a lot of fun and it's a lot of,

38:00

it's goofiness. takes away from the story and then

38:02

most of the stuff in the TV show was

38:04

completely different from the

38:06

facts. I mean it's like it's it

38:08

starts off at the beginning telling you that everything that

38:10

you're about to see is based on true people and

38:13

true events but then so much of the story was

38:15

completely wrong. I bet only 50% of that story was

38:17

right. So then I watched

38:20

another couple of them of the six and then

38:22

I just... You didn't finish watching

38:24

all of them? Yeah. Oh because you had to watch

38:26

your other show. Well I ended up falling

38:28

asleep on that. I watched some stupid movie. Oh. If

38:31

you get a chance it's really not stupid. It was

38:33

a unique idea. It's called

38:36

Flight 666. It's on Amazon

38:38

Prime and

38:41

it's literally about a ghost on a plane. So

38:45

it's a cool thought. But the premise of this story...

38:47

How do we get on this? The

38:49

premise of the story is there's

38:52

a serial killer of women on

38:55

this plane and the ghosts

38:57

kind of like three of them show up

38:59

on the plane and they're kind of terrorizing

39:01

everybody but the whole intention is to

39:03

try to point out who their killer is. So

39:07

but it's actually a cool idea

39:09

and it was done pretty well. It's

39:11

a little cheaply made you know

39:13

like it's got like a little airplane that you would pick

39:15

up on South Road they show

39:18

with doing the little dives and stuff

39:20

on it. Well you gotta do what you have your

39:22
