SNES Welcome
0:30
back to Alien RPG. We're
0:32
playing Fallout. This is episode 2.
0:34
In our previous
0:36
episode, the crew of
0:39
the Aspara infiltrated the planet
0:41
LV 187 to get to
0:45
the colony there and
0:48
they're attempting to find
0:51
some xenobiological materials that
0:53
they can sample and
0:56
hopefully create an antidote or cure
0:58
for a biological
1:01
weapon that's being deployed
1:03
on these planets through some border
1:05
bombings by unknown parties.
1:08
So the ship was able to get
1:11
in and the planet is just a
1:13
perpetual storm. They landed on the landing
1:15
platform which started to buckle just a
1:18
little bit, made some people nervous but
1:20
it's not too bad and as
1:22
they were looking around they figured, you know
1:24
what, COMS isn't working. The
1:27
command centers are all the way at
1:29
the other end of this two kilometer
1:31
long facility. Let's just jump
1:33
back in the ship and go
1:35
and just land in the rough
1:37
grounds at the other end of
1:40
the colony. We'll be closer
1:42
to the command center. As they
1:44
were heading back to the ship they
1:46
see something, some huge
1:50
thing. Is it an asteroid? Is it
1:52
a crashing ship? What is it? But
1:55
this giant fireball came through
1:57
and crashed to the ground.
2:00
You know, it seems like it's
2:02
less than five kilometers away and
2:04
the shockwave struck
2:07
everyone it knocked captain
2:09
dag me for a for a loop
2:11
and And it and even
2:14
kind of shifted the ship a little
2:16
bit which is precariously perched over a
2:18
large strip mine so
2:21
we rejoin the The
2:25
explorers as they are scrambling to get
2:27
to the ship Captain
2:31
he you alive II he okay Fuck
2:34
what? Jesus
2:37
captain Dagny. Do you require assistance? No,
2:40
I I think I'm alright, but we
2:43
We got to get to the ship that that
2:46
doesn't look good Run
2:48
time Yeah, he just
2:50
starts running. All right, so
2:52
everyone runs for the ship everyone
2:55
can make an observation roll, please
2:58
This will be your wits plus observation plus any
3:00
stress that you may have acquired already Yep,
3:09
I got a couple of successes on that nice
3:12
zero successes zero
3:15
successes from me, okay, seven times
3:17
three stress Zero
3:21
successes and I got a one on my
3:23
stress dice for a panic You're
3:25
fine, you're keeping it together, but professor
3:29
clias and Myra as
3:32
you guys are sprinting for the
3:34
ship the sound of the rain
3:36
and the winds You know kind
3:38
of buffeting your helmet and everything.
3:40
Everyone is is inside a mark
3:43
50 compression suit but
3:45
you guys hear Almost
3:48
with a tonal pitch that's
3:50
slightly lower you hear some
3:52
kind of a Hiss
3:58
of some sort kind of echoing almost
4:00
as if it's all around you kind
4:03
of echoing upwards and this
4:05
kind of freaks you out.
4:07
Myra of course has nerves
4:09
of steel, almost
4:12
literal steel, synthetic cables, but
4:15
Professor Cleus please gain one additional
4:17
stress as this sound just kind
4:20
of runs up your spine as
4:22
your boots are running up the
4:24
deck to re-enter the ship. You
4:27
can't push a failed roll can
4:29
you? You cannot that's a that's
4:31
a good point. Any failed
4:33
roll is that that rolls immune
4:36
to push. Could I push the
4:38
roll for some reason to see where that
4:40
hissing sound is coming from or?
4:42
As being synthetic you are immune
4:44
to pushes because you cannot gain
4:47
stress. Oh yeah okay. Not
4:49
used to playing it on Drakulli. Okay
4:53
I think Myra just say like did
4:55
anyone hear the hissing sound as
4:58
we're running? I didn't hear shit
5:00
and I don't care. I all
5:03
I could hear is my own breathing
5:05
in my suit at the clunk of
5:07
my boots. Charging.
5:11
And we don't have an idea of where
5:13
that sound came from. It just
5:15
sounded as if it was all around you now.
5:18
So I think with Professor Cleus when he
5:20
was panicking he he briefly looked back and
5:22
was thinking you know would I be safer
5:24
on the ground rather than this bloody ship
5:27
and then he hears that noise and then just
5:29
double times it again goes
5:31
from being lost to being first and starts
5:34
you know banging on whatever button it is
5:36
to deploy the ramp. Myra
5:39
says like well never mind and then just keeps running.
5:41
What the hell was that? Was that the Colonial Marine?
5:43
Did they fire a gun at us? Do we need
5:45
to leave? I mean you know I want a biological
5:47
sample as much as the next man but I don't
5:49
need blown up. That's why
5:51
it just happened there is nothing I've ever seen the Marines
5:53
do. Everyone get on the ship and strap in. We're gonna
5:55
get over to the other side of this facility as fast
5:57
as we can. Dr. C. Sheima's
6:00
already in her seat and
6:02
strapping up. All
6:04
right. Yeah, so everyone
6:06
bolts up to the bridge, jumps
6:09
into the accelerator couches, and
6:13
let's get a piloting roll to get this thing
6:15
off the ground. And
6:17
is anyone interested in doing a contact of
6:20
any sort? I was
6:22
actually going to suggest, Myra, if you want to
6:24
just check to see if we could check the
6:26
density of the ground that
6:28
we're going to... I don't want to have
6:31
a cave in on us once we land. Yes,
6:35
we should check for the ground density. One
6:37
moment. How do I do
6:39
that? You
6:42
can give me a contact test, but for
6:44
the type of test that you're going to do, it's going
6:47
to be formidable, so subtract
6:49
three dice. Okay. Captain,
6:51
how did your piloting roll go? I
6:54
got one success. Excellent.
6:57
10 dice. What
7:00
is happening? Taking off is
7:02
really easy when the whole landing platform just drops
7:04
out from under you. Yeah, it's like we're not
7:06
really taking off, it's just the landing platform is
7:08
leaving us. It's kind of
7:10
this wily coyote moment, the ship didn't know it was
7:12
supposed to fall. It's
7:14
an Acme ship. Yeah, so
7:18
the platform still seems fine.
7:20
Again, platform accidents are a
7:23
myth, but
7:25
you are able to lift the ship up
7:27
and you don't even retract the landing gear because
7:29
you know you're going to be landing soon.
7:33
Its feet are still sticking down
7:35
and out from the ship as you're
7:37
kind of hovering and starting to fly
7:39
in almost like drone mode over the
7:41
facility. Okay,
7:45
so the ground and
7:47
the way that the atmosphere
7:49
is mucking up your
7:51
sensors, you are unable to
7:54
get a clean reading
7:56
of the ground as far
7:58
as maybe seeing if there's
8:00
any lava tubes or
8:03
anything like that underground. Yeah,
8:05
I got no successes, so my
8:07
room picks up on nothing. Yeah.
8:11
I'll be trying to get it as close to
8:13
the airlock next to the command deck
8:15
as possible. I've got that
8:17
information surely handy so I
8:19
can, you know, my assumption is there
8:21
wouldn't be an airlock next to somewhere that it's
8:24
dangerous to land. Right.
8:27
OK. The building. Yeah.
8:30
Yeah, yeah. All right. So
8:32
the ground is stony and it
8:35
just has these these cut grooves
8:37
in it. So there's no soil,
8:39
there's no nothing flat.
8:42
It's all just these cut grooves
8:44
with just water running through these
8:47
things, you know, from all the
8:49
the precipitation that's everywhere out here.
8:52
And with all the mining equipment and stuff
8:54
like that, there's oil rigs and things like
8:56
that. There's no flat
8:58
place for you to set the ship
9:01
down, but that shouldn't stop you. You
9:03
know, the the feet,
9:06
the landing feet are articulated
9:08
and jointed in such ways
9:10
that they should
9:12
accommodate pretty much
9:14
any terrain. They should.
9:16
They're rarely tested with rough
9:19
terrain, though. Do
9:21
I need to roll anything for landing? Well,
9:23
yes, let's have another piloting, please. OK,
9:26
this is going to be more
9:28
difficult, though. So take a minus
9:30
two penalty on your test. So
9:33
you'll use all the stress dyes. And so
9:35
whenever there's a reduction in dice, it's reduction
9:38
in base. I
9:42
have one success, but I also got one
9:44
fail on my stress dice. OK. And
9:47
and so it is possible to
9:50
have both happen where you are
9:52
successful, but you still panic. It's
9:54
only when your panic roll is
9:56
a value of 10 or higher. it
10:00
negates any successes that
10:03
you had. But having a total
10:05
of a nine is
10:08
one of those instances where yes you're
10:10
successful and you did something pretty
10:13
bad. So drop item is your
10:15
result and I'm going to interpret
10:17
that in a slightly different way.
10:20
So the ship is coming
10:22
down, your landing struts are
10:24
deployed and as you're touching
10:26
down you can hear, everyone
10:29
hears, the the whine and
10:31
the stress as
10:34
the landing gear is trying
10:36
to conform to the
10:38
terrain that it's landing
10:42
on so it can have
10:44
a stable landing. As
10:46
the ship is kind of coming down
10:49
wind shears begin to pivot
10:51
and shift the ship right, the
10:53
yaw begins to move and it's
10:55
in such a way that one
10:58
of the landing gears gets caught
11:00
and everyone hears the
11:03
moment as that landing
11:05
gear is torn free of
11:08
the of the ship. I mean that just
11:10
echoes through the ship
11:12
and the ship does land but
11:14
it's now landed at a 20 degree
11:17
angle, it's pitched over and
11:21
so everyone gained plus one stress
11:23
from that and
11:26
you are no longer able to use
11:29
the ramp to
11:31
exit and get out of the
11:34
ship. So what you're
11:36
gonna have to do to enter
11:38
and exit out of the ship is
11:41
you're gonna have to go the the
11:43
side airlocks instead of the the
11:45
under the belly airlock or
11:49
you can go
11:52
to where the the escape shuttle drops
11:56
out and you could like open up that
11:58
door and kind of like a cargo fine.
34:01
Myra can't get stressed but Camila's getting
34:03
like plus one stress right now just
34:05
in this just in this with this
34:07
role and in this scene for sure.
34:09
Yeah. It's like oh. There's
34:12
very few places for us to go. Okay
34:18
so captain as you're looking
34:20
down this corridor you see
34:22
something moving on the ceiling
34:25
and it suddenly darts and
34:28
leaps right at you and
34:30
it looks like it
34:33
looks like it's the size of
34:35
a small dog but itself it
34:37
looks like it's the cross between
34:39
a crab and a spider with
34:41
a super long flexible
34:44
tail and it leaps at you
34:46
and it's
34:49
legs and tails spread out as it's
34:51
coming right at your face and
34:53
we will put a pin in the action
34:56
there. Quite soon there will probably be
34:58
some sort of pin Dagny.
35:02
Yeah just want to hug. It's funny.
