And enjoy this bonus episode of Gypsy

1:52

Rose Life After Lock Up. She's a

1:54

grand old flag. She's a, I don't

1:56

know the words. Well,

1:59

I'm. Back in New York, I walked in

2:01

my door and Tucker looked at me like,

2:03

bitch, where you been? Aww.

2:05

And now he's on my lap, he won't leave

2:07

my side. Did you teach him to talk? Because

2:09

honestly, if you taught him how to say, bitch,

2:12

where you been, that would blow up on TikTok.

2:14

I could quit this podcast, I'd be a millionaire,

2:16

are you kidding me? We're going on the road,

2:18

Tucker. We're taking this shit on the road. ["Bitch,

2:21

Where You Been?" by The Bitch

2:23

Society plays in the background.] Well,

2:25

welcome down, bitch society, to the

2:27

Patreon. Now

2:30

we're going to be giving you a

2:32

little bit of a surprise here. You're

2:34

going to feel like this is your

2:36

true crime adjacent podcast, but oh no,

2:39

no, no, no. We're going to be

2:41

covering Gypsy Rose, Life After Lockup on

2:43

the Patreon. We asked you guys on

2:45

Instagram, everyone wanted to see it, feel

2:48

it, sniff it, touch it. We were

2:50

all obsessed with this story when it

2:52

came out, and then again when the

2:54

act came out, and then again when

2:57

she was just released in December. How

2:59

are you feeling? I am nervous. Why?

3:01

I'm just nervous for her in general.

3:03

All of America has been wrapped up

3:05

in Gypsy Rose Blanchard's story for many

3:08

years, you know, and trying to figure

3:10

out what the truth is, try to

3:12

understand her more, try to understand what

3:14

she went through more. There's been movies,

3:16

there's been documentaries, and now it's a

3:18

life after lockup. And I'm like, if

3:21

this is anything like love after lockup,

3:23

I see frustration in my future. It

3:26

feels very documentary-like, and we're not

3:28

popping around to different stories. It

3:30

feels like they put a little

3:32

more thought and care into it,

3:34

don't you think? Yes, it's not

3:36

so salacious, you know? Well, earlier

3:38

this year, Lifetime released a multi-part documentary

3:40

called The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose

3:43

Blanchard, and the documentary was similar to

3:45

what this show is going to be.

3:47

It's going to center around Gypsy reflecting

3:49

on her past, and thinking about her

3:52

hopes and dreams and her future, and

3:54

going to malls and using a cell

3:56

phone, and finding out that she's not

3:58

the size clothes that... that she was led

4:00

to believe she is, and it's quite

4:03

a ride. We

4:06

start with a bunch of newspaper

4:08

clippings because people were bananas when

4:10

we heard she was gonna be

4:12

released. It's all anyone could talk

4:14

about on TikTok. Missouri's

4:17

most famous prisoners will be released

4:19

tomorrow. Gypsy Blanchard will be set

4:22

free. The state granted her

4:24

request for parole. She served

4:26

eight years for the murder of her

4:28

abusive mother. Her case has been turned

4:30

into documentaries and a TV series. Some

4:32

even see Gypsy Rose as a sympathetic

4:35

hero. Now the 32-year-old Blanchard moving

4:37

forward with the world watching. Whether

4:39

you look at Twitter, X, or

4:41

Facebook, even TikTok, it's trending everywhere.

4:44

Tomorrow she is getting released. Won't

4:47

you show that to TikTok? This woman is

4:49

iconic. Like, she's a legend. This

4:51

is insane. Like Gypsy Rose Blanchard

4:53

is getting out of prison. For

4:57

those of you who have been living under a rock and somehow

4:59

missed this story, let

5:01

me give you a brief rundown of who Gypsy Rose Blanchard

5:03

is. Gypsy Rose Blanchard was a victim of munchausen by proxy

5:07

at the hands of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard. She

5:09

was told that she had cancer. She was forced to be

5:11

in a wheelchair when she could walk. She

5:15

was basically a prisoner in her own home. Then

5:19

she met Nicholas Gaudagian on Facebook, developed a

5:21

relationship with him, and she told him her story about

5:23

how she was a person or

5:25

how she was a prisoner. So Nicholas

5:27

offered to kill her mother for her, and

5:29

she said yes. They were both found guilty.

5:32

Gypsy Rose was convicted of second-degree murder and served

5:34

eight and a half years in prison until she

5:36

was paroled last year. So now it's December 26th,

5:38

2023, and

5:41

Gypsy Rose sits down for her final

5:43

interview while serving time in the Chillicothe

5:45

Correctional Center in Missouri, and she's set

5:47

to be released in three days. Can

5:50

I just tell you what struck me

5:52

immediately? She sits down and she

5:54

goes, hi! And immediately I

5:56

can see 12-year-old Gypsy Rose. Yeah.

6:00

Hi. I'm

6:06

a little nervous. OK. Get

6:09

a wipe. I don't know.

6:11

I just always get nervous. It's

6:13

like bone jitters. Just a

6:15

childlike quality, frozen in time. It's a

6:18

little eerie for me. Well, we

6:20

talked about this. So we thought about covering

6:22

this episode the other day when we were

6:24

on tour because we watched this in the

6:26

hotel room. Now, you and I have different

6:28

theories on Gypsy Rose before we jump into

6:30

it because, yes, I do feel like she's

6:32

primed to put on that little girl voice

6:34

and that little girl persona. I think

6:37

that is just a trauma response, but you

6:39

think something different. So tell the downbitches what your

6:41

take on Gypsy is. Well, I do think

6:43

you're right. I do think it's partly

6:45

that. But there is a part of her

6:47

that makes me very uncomfortable. I'm

6:50

interested to see as this show

6:52

progresses what we see of her,

6:54

but I find her personally to be

6:56

very manipulative. But you think it's

6:58

like calculated manipulation, right? You see, I think

7:00

that's learned behavior. I don't think

7:02

that she knows exactly how to differentiate. For

7:06

example, like when she sits down, she's like, I'm

7:08

in front of a camera. This is the time

7:10

I perform. This is the

7:12

time I turn into Gypsy Rose Blanchard. Because

7:14

we see times where she's being very real.

7:17

Her voice drops down. She's acting

7:20

like, you know, quote normal because she has

7:22

had to live within these prison walls and

7:24

she's had to sustain the relationships. Follow rules.

7:27

So we know she

7:29

is perfectly able to be normal. I'm

7:31

using normal because obviously her mother turned

7:33

her into something that wasn't normal, member

7:35

of society. But

7:38

like, I suppose my question is, do

7:40

you think her manipulation is malicious? Yeah,

7:44

I would be interested to see that on

7:46

this series, whether or not it's inherent or

7:49

it is a learned behavior. It's still there

7:51

and it can pose problems. And

7:55

it just makes me uncomfortable. I'm not

7:57

saying that she's a bad person. I

8:00

mean, I don't know her, but there are

8:02

just aspects of her interviews, the aspects of

8:04

the way she talks and conducts herself, where

8:06

I'm like, oh, you're a very therippized person.

8:08

And then there are parts where I'm like,

8:10

you make me uncomfortable. I don't know that

8:12

I can believe you, but I'm also very

8:14

suspicious of everyone, including my mother. You are.

8:16

I think that I've outgrown this

8:20

prison version of myself that

8:22

I think a lot of people have come to associate

8:25

me with. I want to be Trixie

8:28

Rose Blanchard, a

8:30

survivor, an advocate

8:33

for people that have been through what I

8:35

have been through. And

8:38

I want to be someone that my family could

8:40

be proud of. So she

8:42

sits down and they ask her, why

8:44

are you letting the cameras follow you?

8:46

And I'm like, honey, I want money.

8:48

That's what I want. I want money.

8:50

But here's the thing. Of course she

8:53

does. She's getting out of being in

8:55

prison for 10 years. She's not going

8:57

to have a job or a lot

8:59

of job prospects. It's not like she

9:01

can just go and work at the

9:03

Piggly Wiggly. She's Gypsy Rose Blanchard. So

9:05

my first thing is like, yeah, she

9:08

wants to make that coin and I don't

9:10

begrudge her for that. And she also says

9:12

she wants to be an advocate and speak

9:14

out for other people who have suffered a

9:16

life like she has. And she wants to

9:18

be someone that her family can be proud

9:21

of. I mean, for the record, she doesn't

9:23

say, I'm in it for the money. That was my

9:25

take. But yeah,

9:27

I think she sees this as an

9:29

opportunity to rewrite her story and not

9:31

be labeled as Gypsy Rose Blanchard the

9:34

victim. Unfortunately, that's probably

9:36

gonna be for the rest of

9:38

her life because this is a

9:40

mainstream story. This story transcends true

9:42

crime people. Absolutely. Everybody knows this

9:44

story. Even just somebody who's only

9:47

seen one other true crime documentary

9:49

and that was Tiger King. Well,

9:52

didn't we all see that in lockdown? I'm

9:55

overwhelmed. Yesterday

9:57

I was saying, you know, eight years

9:59

left. And now

10:01

it's here. Count

10:03

down for last night there.

10:06

Tomorrow night she'll be with us. Speaking

10:09

of Gypsy Rose's family, they live

10:11

in Louisiana, but they've rented an Airbnb

10:14

in Kansas City so they can welcome her home

10:16

when she's released. And her stepmom, Kristie, is here.

10:18

I have to say, I really like

10:20

Kristie. We all love Kristie. Kristie is

10:22

a down bitch. We thought Kristie was a down

10:24

bitch since the first time we were ever introduced

10:26

to her on Mommy Dead and Dearest. Yeah,

10:29

she's lovely. Also, her dad Rod is

10:31

here, as well as Gypsy's half-sister Mia

10:33

and her husband Ryan, who she married

10:35

while in prison. Put a pin on

10:37

that because I have more thoughts on

10:39

that topic. Well, so you know I

10:41

have another podcast and it's called Rabia and

10:43

Ellen Solve the Case. Never heard of it.

10:45

And the case that I want to solve

10:48

is how Gypsy Rose's hot dad ever fucked

10:50

Dee Dee. Because

10:52

I'm sorry. He's good looking.

10:54

We all know it. And he's sweet. And

10:56

he's nice. And he's got that cute little

10:58

accent. I don't know what the fuck he's

11:00

saying. It's like talking to a man from

11:02

Edinburgh. Every time I meet a Scottish man,

11:04

I'm like, did you just sell me steak

11:07

knives? I don't know. You're hot. What's under

11:09

your fucking kiln? Unordinarily, you

11:11

know I would never make fun of

11:13

a victim. Not that I think Dee

11:15

Dee should have lost her life. But

11:17

she was a horrible person. And she

11:19

resembled Gargamel from the Smurfs. Tell

11:22

me I'm wrong. Oh, you

11:24

decorating a tree. I like it. I like

11:26

a lot of lights. A lot. Do you? Oh.

11:29

What's her favorite kind of cake? White

11:32

icing with buttercream. What

11:34

do y'all want on it? Like

11:37

letters on the cake? Yeah,

11:39

like the same. Like when I'm not going to have a plain white cake?

11:42

Yeah, just say welcome home Gypsy Rose or have

11:44

like a couple of roses on it. Well,

11:46

they're all very excited for Gypsy's release. It's

11:48

been a long road for her and

11:50

her family. And they put up a Christmas

11:53

tree. They're going to have a cake. It's a

11:55

celebration. And you know, it's Christmas. She didn't get

11:57

to spend Christmas with Gypsy. So they're just

11:59

trying to, you know. make it holiday

12:01

festive like. So we mentioned Ryan, right?

12:03

Ryan is a man that Gypsy met

12:05

in prison. They were married while she

12:08

was still incarcerated. They've been together for

12:10

three years. His name is Ryan Anderson.

12:12

He's a 37-year-old, sixth-grade social studies teacher

12:15

in Louisiana. We met him during the

12:17

prison confessions of Gypsy Rose, and he

12:19

told us the story about how he

12:22

came to write to Gypsy because his

12:24

friend wanted to write to Joe Exotic.

12:27

And he's like, all right, you write to

12:29

Joe Exotic, and I'll write to Gypsy

12:31

Rose Blanchard, and let's see what happens.

12:33

Now, Ryan is at home in this

12:35

Airbnb with Gypsy's family. He seems very

12:37

comfortable, doesn't he? Yeah, I mean, I

12:39

would imagine he has spent a lot

12:42

of time with them, and he must

12:44

be super comfortable because tell them what

12:46

he calls Papa Rod. Dad. That's odd.

12:48

That's so weird. He literally says, hey,

12:50

dad, you're making breakfast. You need any

12:52

help? Who's dad? Are you? Is

12:54

your dad here? It's so strange. I never

12:56

called my in-laws mom and dad. Did you

12:58

call your ex-fiancee's parents' mom and dad? No,

13:00

I called them a pain in the ass.

13:02

Yeah, I know some people do. And I

13:04

think that would be lovely. I always wanted

13:06

to have a mother-in-law that I liked, but

13:08

the Lord had different plans for me. He

13:11

had the plans of that woman showing up

13:13

in a magenta and purple outfit, trying

13:15

to look like a bird of

13:18

paradise, while my wedding was extremely

13:20

autumnal. Everybody keeps asking

13:22

me, you know, what you think, how it's going to go, you

13:24

know, are they going to last or not? And

13:27

I mean, this is a whole new chapter. Everything's

13:29

new, and she's got stuff to look forward to.

13:33

You know, you have to make mistakes and learn from

13:35

them, you know? And everybody

13:39

could tell her how they feel. But

13:42

at the end of the day, she's still going to make her choice.

13:45

Well, Papa Rod tells us in his confessional

13:47

that basically he's not here to tell Gypsy

13:49

what to do. You know, that as far

13:51

as her decision to get married while still

13:53

in jail, that is her choice to make.

13:55

And he wants her to finally be able

13:57

to make decisions for herself because for a

13:59

very long time, she had no say

14:01

whatsoever. And he goes on to say,

14:03

you learn from your mistakes. So when

14:05

Ryan asked Papa Rod for his blessing

14:07

to propose to Gypsy, Rod gave it.

14:09

I mean, it's a huge risk. We've

14:11

seen it on love after lockup many

14:13

times when folks make life altering decisions

14:16

behind bars. And when they get their

14:18

freedom, they're like, I didn't think this

14:20

through. Yeah. Well, put a pit

14:22

in that. Now Ryan is talking about

14:24

how he can't believe he's the one

14:27

that gets to pick Gypsy up because

14:29

she's a celebrity. How is he the

14:31

one the family isn't getting to Ryan

14:33

is getting to. And then on the

14:36

other side of Missouri, Gypsy is there

14:38

talking about how her previous exes were

14:40

in love with the idea of Gypsy,

14:43

the Gypsy that they saw on TV,

14:45

that little girl that needed to be

14:47

protected and the whole facade and everything

14:50

that comes with being this sort of

14:52

famous quote, criminal. Yeah. And she says

14:54

Ryan loves the real her because she

14:56

carries a lot of trauma. And sometimes

14:58

when people see how broken she is,

15:00

they get scared. I get that. I

15:02

don't like to show everybody my crazy

15:05

right away. I'm like, let's save that

15:07

for date 20. We're going to dose

15:09

it out. Yeah. Micro dose that shit. We're

15:11

going to micro dose the trauma. And

15:14

also truthfully, the family has reservations about this

15:16

marriage. Gypsy's half sister Mia. She is

15:18

not shy about her opinions. She says

15:21

this. I like Ryan. I

15:23

do. Nice guy,

15:25

you know, respectable. But

15:28

until I see them interact one

15:30

on one together, I think I will

15:33

be skeptical of the whole situation until

15:35

I see it for myself. I

15:38

don't want anything to hurt her, but

15:40

I'm happy if she's happy and I'll support whatever

15:42

decision she wants to make. I'm there

15:44

100%. I'll always be

15:47

there. Listen, I support that because we

15:49

cannot control people. We can love them really

15:51

hard and create a safe space for them

15:53

that allows them to stumble or fall with

15:56

the knowledge that if they do, someone will

15:58

lovingly reach out a hand and help them.

16:00

back up, but it's hard. I can't believe

16:02

you haven't mentioned the Louisiana accents yet. I'm

16:04

so used to them. Sister Mia was like,

16:07

when's your bird day? I was

16:09

like, what's a bird day? Is that a day we all

16:11

go out and get birds? A

16:13

cockatiel, a budgie, a parakeet? What

16:15

are we doing? When's

16:17

bird day? I feel at home when

16:19

she's like, you know, my mom and them. I was

16:21

like, oh my god. Yeah, we are deep in Louisiana.

16:23

When's your bird day? What'd you

16:26

get? I got this adorable little cockatiel.

16:29

His name's Skippy. But I will say, Mia does

16:31

try with Ryan. She puts in an

16:33

effort. Yeah, of course she does. The

16:36

whole family does. This family is lovely.

16:38

Christy tells us how close she and

16:40

Gypsy have gotten to each other. Gypsy

16:42

calls her mom. Christy is a down

16:44

bitch. I freaking love her. She's like,

16:46

I love hoard. I love hoard. Did

16:49

you say hoard like you like to

16:51

hoard? Are we hoard? I love hoard.

16:54

I was like, of course, it just

16:56

sounds normal to you. It's like milk. And

16:59

the camera crew asks Papa Rod,

17:01

what is your regret? And

17:03

he says, so much, honestly, you

17:05

know, just neglect,

17:08

general neglect. You know, I mean, I could have

17:11

done so much more. They dug

17:13

in a little deeper, you know. I

17:15

think there's some reconciling

17:17

that we have to do. I think we

17:20

probably both have questions for each other. Oh,

17:23

my heart broke just there. What he said was, we're

17:25

going to have work to do. And then I was like,

17:28

listen, come here. Come in. Come in for

17:30

it. Come snuggle right here. Right

17:32

there. Look at the two little pillows. You just

17:35

relax your sweet little Louisiana head. There you go.

17:37

Can I call you dad too? It's

17:40

tough because it would be very easy

17:42

to say, well, you neglected your daughter. And

17:44

I think there's some out of sight, out

17:46

of mind at play here. And I would

17:48

venture to say a lot of that had

17:50

to do with DeeDee because she was not

17:52

well. She was unpredictable. She was manipulative. Even

17:54

her own family said that about her on

17:56

the previous documentary. You know, and he wanted to get

17:58

away from her. And sadly, I think Jim J.P.C. Rose was

18:00

a casualty of that situation. I'm not saying

18:02

that it's right, but I believe him when

18:04

he says, I have a lot of regret.

18:07

Yeah? This is a prepaid collect

18:09

call from Hey, it's the- It's

18:11

Hill and Coffee Correctional Center. Hey,

18:14

baby. How's it going on? You're

18:16

crazy. How are you? A

18:19

little bit. Well, baby,

18:21

you know, you gotta think, this is your last

18:23

day in prison. I know.

18:26

That's why I definitely focus on that too much on

18:29

our kids through the day. They just asked me

18:31

what we plan to do tonight. And I said,

18:33

love on you. Sleep. Now

18:36

it's 12 hours till she's released and Gypsy

18:38

calls Ryan on the phone. She's nervous and

18:41

stir crazy. I can't even sleep when I

18:43

have a flight the next morning. I

18:46

can't even imagine being in prison knowing you're

18:48

not gonna be in prison the next

18:50

morning. Honey. I'm like, I have six more

18:52

hours to sleep. I have five hours and 45 minutes left

18:54

to sleep. If I fall asleep right now, I have

18:56

five hours and 25 minutes left to sleep. No

18:59

way. I think you could just stop it. I can't sleep.

19:04

Sleep is for the weak. I'll sleep when

19:06

I'm dead. Ask Mariah Carey. So like you

19:08

said, he was chatting with Gypsy on the

19:10

phone and then he puts her on hold

19:12

because he gets a call from the prison

19:14

and it's a sheriff deputy asking him, hey,

19:16

have you noticed anybody following you? He prefaces

19:18

that, honey. He says, hey, I have

19:21

some weird questions. I

19:23

was like, that is the scariest intro. I mean,

19:25

I love weird questions. He's like, I got a

19:28

question. How many pennies do you think I could

19:30

fit in my mouth? Okay, all

19:32

right. You know what? I'm sorry. Let me

19:34

ask you a weird question. Have you ever,

19:36

ever in your life been tempted to sleep

19:38

inside of your refrigerator? Just me? Okay,

19:41

great. One more weird question. If

19:44

both people work in a restaurant, do they have to wear a

19:46

hair net? Okay, trick question. It's not

19:48

a weird question. It's not a weird question.

19:50

I got a question. I got a question

19:52

for you. Can women put on mascara without

19:54

opening their mouth? That is a weird question.

19:58

The answer is no. Is anyone following you? We're talking

20:00

about a famous inmate. It

20:02

is not a weird question. Well, basically the deputy

20:04

says we're concerned. You know,

20:06

we're concerned about a bunch of media showing up. You

20:08

know, I'll call you in the morning and we'll figure

20:10

this out. So then he gets

20:12

back on the phone with Gypsy and he's like, oh, that

20:14

was one of the deputies. She's like, well, what did he

20:17

want? He doesn't tell her. I

20:19

actually think that was a good idea. I do too. He

20:21

didn't want to worry her. Yeah. Like,

20:23

I don't think he was being shady. Oh, I agree.

20:25

Because she's already anxious. She's already not sleeping. She's already

20:27

stir crazy. I

20:29

actually think that was a very kind thing to

20:31

do. What made me chuckle

20:33

to myself was when Gypsy Rose goes,

20:36

well, did you find a McDonald's that might

20:38

be open late so that we can get fries? And

20:40

I said, you are a woman after my own heart.

20:43

I was like, yeah, let's talk about the important

20:45

things. Will the fries

20:48

be hot and will they be salted

20:50

appropriately? It's true. She's been eaten prison

20:52

baloney for eight and a half years.

20:55

I want some good old hot out of

20:57

the fryer McDonald's fries as well. So the exchange

20:59

there are love yous. And Ryan

21:01

continues on his journey and he tells us, look,

21:03

I'm really nervous. I would imagine so. But he

21:06

also seems very ready. Yeah.

21:09

Meanwhile, in this little transition time,

21:11

they show us a bunch of

21:13

viral videos that have played on

21:15

TikTok. Gypsy Rose Blanchard, the most

21:17

famous victim of munchausen by proxy is going

21:20

to be paroled tomorrow, December 28th. This has

21:22

been very controversial. Some people

21:24

believe that she should not have gotten any time.

21:26

Some people believe she should have gotten more time.

21:28

You guys, I cannot stop thinking about

21:30

Gypsy Rose Blanchard getting out of prison. Gypsy

21:33

says that she's bracing herself for the spotlight and

21:35

scrutiny she's going to come home to, but that

21:37

she's looking forward to spending time with her father

21:39

and her stepmother and her new husband, Ryan. Now,

21:42

I saw all those videos. I've watched them all. I

21:45

was glued to TikTok on these days.

21:47

So it was Gypsy's release day. Ryan

21:49

is at the hotel and he gets

21:52

a phone call. He's sort

21:54

of pacing around the hotel room, sitting anxious. He

21:57

shows us the ring, by the way, and he

21:59

said, It's a family heirloom. His

22:02

mom gave it to him. It's

22:04

heirloom is something that is passed down from Jenner.

22:07

Your mom gave that to you. How do

22:09

we know that it wasn't like given to her

22:11

by her mother or you know previously? Because he

22:13

said my mom gave me this ring. I think

22:15

it was just his mom gave him that ring. She

22:17

got it at Macy's. She's like there was a sale

22:19

at Zales. Yeah, I have a family heirloom though. What

22:22

is it? Trauma. It

22:25

lasts forever. It's like

22:27

a diamond. Oh, there he

22:29

is. This

22:33

is Ryan. Good morning Ryan. How are you? I'm

22:36

good man. How you doing? I'm pretty

22:38

good. Um, give me a favor. Try to

22:40

show up around 3.15, 3.20. I

22:44

can do that. Okay. Yeah,

22:46

I can do that. I'll be there at 3.15. Thank you buddy.

22:49

You need some help. Thank you buddy. Alright man. Ryan

22:51

gets a call from the prison and they

22:53

say, Hey, please show up at 3.15 a.m. to

22:55

grab her. I'm sure

22:57

they're doing it early in the morning so they can avoid

23:00

media attention. No, that's exactly what they were doing

23:02

because that's why all the TikTokers were like, Wait, she

23:04

was released? Where were the cameras? This is a theme

23:06

that's going to come up a lot because Gypsy is

23:08

like, Why am I being treated differently? Well,

23:11

you had a documentary. You had a whole TV

23:13

show. You had all the, yes, you are a

23:16

different kind of inmate. You're

23:18

not inmate, you know, two, four, six,

23:20

oh, one. You're a famous inmate. Yeah. People

23:23

know you. So Ryan heads to the prison and all

23:25

I can think about is this moment must be so

23:27

surreal for him. All of the planning, the waiting, the

23:29

dreaming, the fantasizing, it's all about to become a reality.

23:33

He's nervous. You can tell. Oh, for sure.

23:35

He's looking around. He is like more nervous

23:38

than a vampire at Olive Garden.

23:42

Because of the garlic. Because of the garlic. He

23:44

is more nervous than a nun at the Moulin Rouge.

23:46

I don't know. And

23:48

he was like, I'm sweating a lot. I'm going

23:51

to spray my cologne. No. We

23:53

talk about it on our loomy ads. You got to

23:55

get to the root of the problem. You

23:57

can't just cover it up with cologne. Then you smell it. like

24:00

swamp nuts, nobody wants to smell

24:02

your Dracarnoire fucking sweaty nipples. Hey,

24:05

hey, I'm sure it was Liz

24:07

Claiborne's curve for men. Do you

24:09

remember that? Everyone wore it in high school. Was that

24:11

a big one? Oh, that and cool water. Yeah.

24:14

That was a good one. Cool water. Well, he

24:16

says she loves it and it'll put

24:18

her in the mood. Okay. Now this

24:20

is a foreshadowing of something that we're

24:22

gonna talk about. I think she's in

24:24

the mood to be free. I don't

24:26

think she's in the mood to dingle

24:28

your dingle berries and speed bag your

24:30

nuts tonight. Okay, my friend? Bugga,

24:33

bugga, bugga, bugga, bugga, bugga, bugga, bugga. I want

24:35

you to speed bag my nut. Buh-bye,

24:38

buh-bye. So

24:43

he's like worried about smelling good. No, worry

24:45

about that sweat. I hope you got that

24:47

loomie because you gotta start it from the

24:49

bacteria phase. Jesus. How

24:52

you doing, buddy? Hey, man. Stressful.

24:55

How you? See this

24:57

vehicle right here? Yes, sir. I want you to

24:59

follow him. He's gonna use his

25:01

turn signal, point you some double doors

25:03

that he wants you to drive to when they open up,

25:05

go in and you can pick her up. Okay. All

25:07

right. Thank you, sir. Do me

25:10

a favor. Yeah. So

25:13

Ryan pulls up to the prison and the guard

25:15

asks him to turn off the camera in his

25:17

car. So we don't see her being released. We

25:19

can hear it. And Gypsy is very

25:22

excited. I guess the boots that he got

25:24

her didn't fit, but she didn't really care.

25:26

She gets in the car, they kiss in

25:28

exchange, I love yous. And two minutes later,

25:30

we see her. Okay. Spoiler.

25:32

I don't hate this man the way I

25:35

thought I was gonna hate him, but I

25:37

have to say in these moments, he is

25:39

being really gross and I don't appreciate it.

25:41

She's talking about the way her clothes fit

25:43

and she's saying, you know, I didn't want

25:45

to show too much boob. And he's like,

25:47

huh, huh, show the boob. Let me see your

25:49

titties. Huh, huh. She's trying to come

25:51

to terms with her freedom. And this

25:53

man just wants to titty fuck her.

25:56

Calm down. He's just awkward. It's giving

25:58

like hints of Chaz from Love Island. after

26:00

lockup, you know? Totally, yeah. It's just

26:02

not being able to read the room.

26:04

And there is something very different

26:06

about corresponding with someone via text,

26:08

via phone, via letters, and then

26:10

you get in front of them.

26:12

It's a whole different ballgame. They're

26:15

just feeling each other out. Yeah,

26:17

literally, he's feeling her, he's touching

26:19

her. She's sitting there actually trying

26:21

to control her breathing. You can

26:23

tell she feels very overwhelmed and

26:26

he's like touching her. You know,

26:28

it's just, you know, and

26:30

she's being very patient and very

26:32

kind. He's infringing on her space.

26:35

He gave her the heirloom, which

26:37

I was like, stop calling

26:39

it that. He's making me very uncomfortable.

26:41

I just feel like she needs a

26:43

moment to assess, decompress. And she

26:46

even says later, she's like, oh, wow,

26:48

this is the town I've been living

26:50

in for 10 years. It's

26:52

a lot to take in. I just

26:54

wish he would stop wanting to

26:56

like finger bang her over McDonald's fries,

27:00

which ordinarily would be very fun and

27:03

great foreplay. I'm loving it. Well, yeah,

27:05

you can see she is overwhelmed. It's

27:07

like freedom. And in her mind, again, a

27:09

little bit of foreshadowing, it's real freedom. She

27:11

never had freedom growing up in the house

27:14

with her mom. Then she went straight to

27:16

jail and now she's out and she's like,

27:18

I get to call the shots. Exactly. It's

27:20

me. And so now they call stepmom,

27:22

Kristy, because they promised they would call on their

27:24

way home from the prison. Make sure that she

27:26

was okay, everything was all right. And they

27:29

are thrilled. Kristy is crying. Oh, she's

27:31

so sweet. It's very sweet. And Gypsy

27:33

is talking to them, but simultaneously just trying

27:35

to take it all in. Oh,

27:37

you're calling her right now? Yeah. Okay. Hey.

27:41

Oops. It's

27:43

feeling a little surreal right now. Oh,

27:46

it's so awesome not to hear

27:48

that voice from the prison. I

27:50

know. We're going straight to

27:53

the hotel. Okay. So we

27:55

should be all right. I'll take a

27:57

breath. Yeah, we're going to try. Well,

27:59

I just- I wanted y'all to say hey. I

28:01

love y'all. Have a good night, Gypsy. We love

28:03

you. I love you guys. I will

28:06

say, I think Ryan is really

28:08

awkward and he's been waiting for this

28:10

moment for three years. And I'm just

28:12

like, if you could just pump the

28:14

brakes a little bit and take her

28:16

lead, you don't need to lead the

28:18

charge. Let her lead the charge. And

28:20

she will tell you. Yeah, I see

28:23

him being kind, but I see him

28:25

being a bit controlling as well. It's

28:27

more of like a father figure to

28:30

me, feeling she needs emotional toe dipping.

28:32

She needs to dip her toe in.

28:35

He's overwhelming me. And I have

28:37

never been incarcerated to my knowledge.

28:40

I don't know. I block a lot

28:42

of things out. There's always tomorrow for

28:44

dreams to come true. Prison

28:48

sounds awful. You look so good. You

28:51

just can't stop staring at me, huh? Hi, Gail. You

28:54

want some fries? No. You

28:57

don't? No, I just want- Just

28:59

be right now. And now

29:01

they're back at the hotel. And again, to your

29:03

exact point, Ryan needs to pump the brakes. He's

29:06

like, I want a kiss. I want a hug.

29:08

You want some fries? You want some food? You

29:10

want to try on these shoes? You want this

29:12

dress? You want a kiss? Can I kiss you?

29:14

Can I touch you? Can I hug you? It's

29:17

like, let her eat her McDonald's fries. First of

29:19

all, that's church, okay? Leave her

29:21

alone while she's at church. Just

29:23

let her be. She's recalibrating. And

29:26

she was being so nice and

29:28

patient. I don't know. No, no, no, you're not wrong.

29:30

I started to get anxiety because he was

29:32

like, wow, I can really touch you. And

29:34

he was stroking her arm with the back

29:36

of his hand, just watching that irritated me.

29:39

Cause I would be like, she's got

29:41

a cat. You know, calm down. Just give

29:43

her a second. It really was like

29:45

watching two teenagers on a first date. Totally.

29:47

And then she was like, trying to

29:49

keep the conversation going. She's like, what

29:52

if I snore? And he's like, well,

29:54

we'll get divorced. Ha ha ha. I'll

29:57

get you one of those sleep apnea masks. I was like,

29:59

she- She has been out of prison

30:02

for four and a half minutes,

30:04

and you're already talking about hooking

30:06

her up to medical equipment that

30:08

she was hooked up to her

30:10

whole life by her mother. It

30:12

was bad. If you could have

30:14

just taken those words and ingested

30:16

them, it was so awkward and

30:18

inappropriate. I think he kind of felt

30:20

really bad after he said that because it dawned

30:22

on him like, oh God, that was a really

30:24

ill-timed joke. You know, we've all been there. I've

30:26

done it, but I was just like, ooh, bro,

30:28

like she's been out 10 minutes. This was not

30:31

the time. So it's now 4.21 in the morning,

30:33

and Gypsy's getting sleepy, but Ryan is also

30:36

being awkward because you can see, he's like,

30:38

are we gonna do this? I mean, he's

30:40

rubbing her and saying like, it's hot to

30:42

be able to touch you. The hottest thing

30:44

that you could say, in my opinion, would

30:46

be, hey, I know this is a lot

30:48

for you. What do you need? Also

30:50

like, whatever you need, we don't have to

30:53

do anything. There's no pressure. If you want

30:55

me to get another room so you can

30:57

sleep by yourself tonight, I will do that,

30:59

there's time. It's her first time in like

31:01

a comfy bed in all these years, yeah.

31:04

And it's a lot. Again, I don't know

31:06

another way to say it. It's like, I

31:08

want her to dip her toe in. If

31:10

you're married, you're gonna have all the time

31:12

you need. Hopefully. Am I

31:14

the only one that woke up looking for

31:17

live footage of Gypsy Rose being

31:19

released? What the heck? Where's

31:22

the live footage? Gypsy Rose Blanchard is now

31:24

a free woman. She has just been released

31:26

from prison in apparently a very secretive way.

31:28

We don't know where she is or what

31:30

she's doing, but it should stay that way

31:32

until she decides to share. So

31:35

now the TikTokers have gotten

31:37

word that Gypsy is out.

31:40

And they were like, wait, what? We didn't

31:43

see her getting out? I was like, nah,

31:45

bitch. They did that on the slide. They

31:47

didn't want a media frenzy watching her get

31:49

out. Now the TikTokers are like, she's out.

31:51

She's out doing all this stuff. And now we're back in

31:53

the hotel at 10.35 in the morning. And

31:56

Gypsy is exploring a brand new world.

31:58

The world of. the iPhone. She

32:01

has taken her first selfie and then she asks

32:03

Ryan, how do you text someone back? I

32:05

was like, L-O-L. I was so

32:07

cute. Because how would she know? I mean,

32:09

literally three-year-olds can do it, but how would

32:11

she know? She's never had that. She

32:13

was geeking out on predictive texts. She

32:16

was like, oh, look, it says, I'll

32:19

meet you at the doctor's office, hospital,

32:21

school. Like, I remember watching some kind

32:23

of documentary and the person had been

32:25

in jail for 15, 20 years and

32:28

they were fascinated at how big the

32:30

cars were. Because there weren't

32:32

SUVs and he was passing by, I can't

32:35

remember what it was, and he was like,

32:37

those are cars? They're massive. Yeah,

32:39

everything is new. It's all brand

32:41

new. And what I want to say to her so

32:43

badly is, put that phone down. Don't get addicted like

32:46

the rest of us. It's like, crack, once you smoke

32:48

it, you're hooked. You'll never put that phone down. Morning,

32:50

noon, and night, you're stuck to that phone. You're playing

32:52

Candy Crush, you're watching TikTok, you want to text your

32:54

boyfriend if you have one. And

32:56

it's a lot, don't be like us.

32:58

And so they're getting ready to head

33:01

out. When a producer asks, how

33:03

was your night? And I was like,

33:05

don't answer it. Don't answer that question.

33:08

Oh, last night was great. Great, we

33:10

got to, yeah, we got to love on each

33:12

other. We got to

33:15

consummate our marriage. We did get to do

33:17

that. She was so nervous. It

33:19

was a dream. Not for long. Not for long. She

33:22

got into it. That's

33:24

when I really got the ick from him.

33:26

Because what it feels like

33:28

to me in that moment is, look

33:31

at me, I fucked Gypsy Rose.

33:33

That's what it feels like to me. It feels gross.

33:35

I don't like it. I really wish he would have

33:37

been like, we had a great night and that's all

33:39

we need to say to you. And we love each

33:41

other and I'm so happy I got to have my

33:43

first night with my wife. That's all you needed. We

33:47

also have to remember that

33:49

she doesn't have a very

33:51

healthy relationship with sex. She

33:54

used sex as a weapon.

33:56

She baited go to Jen

33:58

through sex. And we know

34:01

that he was on the spectrum. He

34:03

was on the autism spectrum. So she

34:05

baited this man through sex to murder

34:07

her mom. So I feel like the

34:10

conversations around sex are probably a little

34:12

more complicated than we can imagine. And

34:14

she makes this joke and says, oh,

34:17

he told me he was a dynamo.

34:19

And turns out he was a dynamo.

34:21

I was like, can we delete that

34:24

section from this show? Does anyone work

34:26

at Lifetime? Because my esophagus burns when

34:28

I throw up in my mouth like

34:30

that. It's not good for I'm a singer.

34:33

And it burns my esophagus when I

34:36

throw up. Like, stop. But

34:38

what it feels like too is I

34:40

can see the people pleaser in her

34:42

and that the producer wanted more information.

34:44

It almost seemed like she felt obligated

34:47

to give more. So

34:50

they leave the hotel. They pack up the car.

34:52

They're going to drive to Kansas City. And

34:54

this is the moment when I said before, she was

34:57

like, oh, wow, this is where I've been living. I

34:59

was like, that's so sad. Hey.

35:01

How are you? Good. Good.

35:04

Better than I've ever been, I guess. I'm a grown. Thank

35:06

you. What's up, buddy? How

35:08

you doing, girl? I'm good. I'm doing

35:11

good, man. I've been doing this for 16 and

35:13

a half years. I've handled probably over 4,000 cases. There's

35:18

really never been one like this. It

35:21

was extremely hard for me to accept

35:24

that her going to prison was

35:26

going to have to be an outcome. Her

35:28

lawyer, Mike Stanfield, comes over to the

35:30

house with his wife, who's been with

35:32

her the whole time. This has been

35:35

a 16-year ordeal, and

35:37

he just tells us that he just

35:39

wants her to live a normal life

35:41

or as normal as possible. But before

35:43

they go to Kansas City, Gypsy has

35:45

to make a couple of stops. And

35:48

one of them is for new shoes because the boots

35:50

that she got, y'all, they don't fit her. And when

35:52

she gets out the car and she's walking into

35:54

the store, it's like watching a little

35:56

girl on her mom's heels. They're clearly

35:58

uncomfortable. They don't fit. And she's just

36:00

like, slow down, Ryan. I cannot walk so

36:02

fast. Well, she told them that

36:05

she was a size five. But then

36:07

she realized that she had been wearing

36:09

little girls' clothing her whole life, except

36:12

for her prison uniform. So she actually

36:14

didn't know what size she was. So

36:16

sad. That made me really sad. So

36:19

she goes to go get some shoes,

36:21

and immediately she's spotted by amateur paparazzi.

36:23

They're just people with iPhones. I mean,

36:26

anybody with an iPhone can be a

36:28

paparazzi. And here it begins. Who

36:32

is that? People we

36:34

don't know. Are

36:40

they gonna follow us? No, baby. It's

36:46

fun. What

36:49

are these new shoes? Lots

36:53

of them. Where are you

36:56

going? You're going shopping? What are you going

36:58

shopping for? And they catch her going in,

37:01

and we hear her microphone say like, well,

37:03

what was that? Because she

37:05

doesn't know TikTok. She doesn't know

37:07

Instagram. She doesn't know really how

37:10

famous she

37:12

has been on the outside. I don't know.

37:14

I would disagree. I think she does know

37:16

how famous she is, but I don't think

37:18

that she understands that anybody could film

37:20

her. Maybe she expected to see news

37:22

cameras, but not just like regular people

37:25

on the street filming her, asking her

37:27

questions. She's thinking, are you gonna put

37:29

this on your Facebook page? Yes,

37:32

I do know she knows she is a

37:34

celebrity, which feels weird even saying, but I

37:36

don't think she knows how all of this

37:38

works, like how a viral, this woman didn't

37:40

know how to return a text. So

37:42

I don't think she knows that an

37:44

average person can film something and it

37:47

can be viewed 100 million times. That

37:49

still confuses me sometimes. You made a

37:51

meme the other day on Instagram that

37:54

you put zero seconds of thought into

37:56

and it got over 45 million views.

37:58

Like 50 million views. 50

38:00

million views. You taking me to Red Lobster

38:02

tonight. It took me two seconds to

38:05

make, and then stuff I spent hours

38:07

editing and curating and put together like

38:09

44 views. Like,

38:12

oh, thanks everyone. So

38:14

she's just a nice person. Also, she

38:16

has had media training in the sense

38:18

that Dee Dee trained her how to

38:21

be on camera, how to smile for

38:23

the camera, how to be a nice,

38:25

warm, likable person on camera. She's had

38:27

better media training than that fucking Chipotle

38:30

CEO that made that statement. Did you

38:32

see that statement? When

38:34

Keith Lee, a famous TikToker, gave Chipotle

38:36

a bad review, and then the CEO

38:38

was like, I don't know what that

38:41

TikToker was talking about. I will give

38:43

you extra corn any old day if

38:45

you want it. It's everything's

38:47

good at Chipotle. I was like, did

38:49

anybody run a comb through that hair

38:51

or talk to you about what to

38:53

say? Jesus Christ, Gypsy's

38:56

ready. So she's being nice to the

38:58

paps. She has no

39:00

idea. And then Ryan is like, I think

39:02

we're being followed. Yeah, and actually

39:04

they are. We're

39:06

being followed. Can't we

39:08

like call the police? Look,

39:14

you see that right there. Oh, okay.

39:16

That white car. That white

39:19

utility looking truck. Okay,

39:22

he's going the other way. So hopefully- No, he's

39:24

not. It's right there. Oh, where am I? Just pulled

39:27

in behind. So Gypsy's panicking a

39:29

little bit, especially because Ryan is starting to speed

39:31

up and he's like, well, maybe I can lose

39:33

them. And she's like, please drive safely. It will

39:35

be fine. And she calls her dad and tells

39:37

him what's going on. And he's like, look, just

39:39

come to the Airbnb. You can

39:41

pull into the garage. We'll close the garage

39:43

door. We'll also pull the curtains. Just get

39:46

here. We're excited to see you. So of

39:48

course the video of some random person asking

39:50

her questions like, what are you doing? What

39:52

are you shopping for? And the pictures they

39:54

took of her, they go viral immediately. And

39:57

there's also a story that's circulating-

40:00

social media about Gypsy attending a

40:02

Chiefs game that weekend in Kansas

40:04

City and how she is hoping

40:07

to meet Taylor Swift. Right. And

40:09

that rumor gets around. I mean, I heard that rumor. Me too.

40:12

So while they're talking on the phone, Ryan

40:14

has a voicemail and they listen to it.

40:16

And it's one of Gypsy's parole officers. She

40:18

has two parole officers, her parole officer in

40:20

Missouri and then one in Louisiana where obviously

40:22

she's going to be living. And we hear

40:24

the phone call conversation. Hi, this is Gypsy

40:26

Bland. Hi, how are you? Hi,

40:29

this is Gypsy Bland. Gypsy, where

40:31

are you going right now? Um.

40:34

Are you headed to Louisiana right now? Um.

40:37

Uh, hi. We got notifications that

40:39

you're going to a Chiefs game this weekend.

40:41

Is that correct? Yes,

40:45

that is correct. I

40:47

had pre-okay that with my parole

40:49

officer way before. And I

40:52

haven't gotten to give him

40:54

a call yet because

40:56

I got released at like three

40:58

o'clock in the morning. So I was waiting for

41:00

a decent hour. And right now we're headed to

41:03

Kansas City. To meet

41:05

her family. To meet up with

41:07

my family like I discussed with

41:09

the IPO and Chillicothe Correctional Center.

41:12

And so I was just getting ready to call

41:14

my PO so I can kind of know

41:17

what my reporting directives are.

41:20

Did you notice Ryan's hand

41:22

on the steering wheel? Oh, he was

41:24

shaking. I was like, is it caffeine?

41:26

Do you have a medical issue? What

41:29

is happening? I was like, the tires

41:31

are going to go out of alignment.

41:33

You are shaking this car so bad.

41:35

What was happening? Well, I think he

41:37

was really freaking out because the other part

41:39

of it is, is that he kept interrupting her

41:41

while she was having that phone call with her

41:43

parole officer. And it's like, dude, again, read the

41:45

room. You know, she came from a very controlling

41:48

household. Let her be an adult and handle it.

41:50

And I get it. His instinct is to protect.

41:52

He wants to be like, no, no, no, we

41:54

work this out. But I'm like, pump the brakes

41:56

a little bit, buddy. So basically, she

41:58

says. I was planning

42:01

on leaving Kansas City on New Year's

42:03

Day and driving to Louisiana and Missouri

42:05

is like, the fuck you say? We

42:07

want you out of Missouri. And

42:10

they've heard all the nonsense about

42:12

her wanting to meet Taylor Swift.

42:14

And this is what Papa Rod

42:16

says, her history of meeting famous

42:18

people is something that is part

42:21

of her past. Gypsy is well

42:23

acquainted with meeting famous people because

42:25

Dee Dee, her mother used to

42:27

parade her around to different foundations

42:29

and meet different celebrities. These celebrities

42:31

who were generously giving their time

42:33

and money foundations and money, absolutely,

42:36

because they thought she was sick.

42:38

And Papa Rod is like, I

42:40

don't want her falling back into

42:42

all those patterns of being infamous

42:44

and then getting all of this

42:46

special treatment. And then they start

42:48

talking about her parole. Parole is

42:51

tricky and Mike, the lawyer, sort

42:53

of breaks it down for us.

42:55

When you're on parole, you

42:57

are still under the custody of the

42:59

Department of Corrections. And so

43:01

you don't have the same freedoms that

43:04

the average person does. She

43:06

is going home today, but she is not free

43:09

yet. And that's interesting because

43:11

when she got out of jail and she was

43:13

in the car and I said, she's experiencing her

43:15

freedom, but put a pin in that, that is

43:17

what I mean. It is a false sense of

43:19

freedom. She is free. She can go

43:21

to the grocery store. She can pick out what she

43:23

wants for dinner, but she has a lot of stipulations

43:26

in the way that she moves around the world

43:28

right now. And so you're not

43:30

totally free yet. And so

43:32

they're driving. They're still being followed.

43:34

Everyone at home is anxious and

43:36

excited. And then the parole officer calls

43:39

back, the Missouri parole officer. And

43:41

he was like, I don't care what

43:43

your parole officer in Louisiana said,

43:45

you cannot go to this Chiefs

43:47

game. You have to go straight to

43:49

Louisiana. Do not pass go. Do

43:51

not collect $200. Do

43:54

not get a pair of shoes that fit

43:56

you. They're firm and they're not backing down.

43:58

And they're like, we'll talk. to the

44:00

people in Louisiana, you have to get

44:03

there. You need to check in there.

44:05

And she is very calm, very polite,

44:08

and all she wants to do is get home to

44:10

her family. And she knows Mike is there too, the

44:12

lawyer. Yeah. Well, she only got out of prison 10

44:15

hours ago at three in the

44:17

morning. She's exhausted. She's anxious.

44:19

She's being followed. Her

44:22

shoes don't fit. It's a lot. So

44:24

we can just go back to

44:27

Louisiana and they're happy wadi dog.

44:30

It is what it is. You know? It's

44:33

a 13 hour trip. I know. Okay.

44:36

Let's try to be joyous. I know.

44:40

Ryan says, look, we're about to go into the

44:42

party to greet your family. Let's put on our

44:44

happy faces. I did not like that. Yeah.

44:47

I totally know what you mean. It's so

44:49

complicated. I don't like this guy. I don't

44:51

hate this guy right now. The family is

44:53

so excited. They've prepped. They've gotten this Airbnb.

44:55

I know what you mean. Like it was

44:57

a poorly timed. She's had to put a

44:59

show on her whole life. If she wants

45:02

to be stressed out, let her be stressed

45:04

out. But I promise you the minute she

45:06

sees her family, she's going to be happy.

45:08

And that is the case. She walks in,

45:10

everyone embraces her. It's a reunion. Her dad

45:12

is so happy to see her. Mama Christy

45:14

is like, I've been crying on and off

45:16

all day. And she's like, just fine. Hi.

45:24

Maybe you made it. No

45:29

scared. Yeah. It was a

45:31

little scarier for a second.

45:35

Thank you. I

45:37

know. Give me

45:41

a hug,

45:45

mom. It's

45:47

very sweet. This is the moment they've been

45:50

working toward for years. And I can see

45:52

that Gypsy is so happy, but also you

45:54

can see that PO conversation is looming over

45:56

her. Of course. I actually loved when she

45:58

says, give me a hug. a hug mom.

46:00

So cute. I just is so I don't

46:03

know I just love Kristy. So Ryan

46:06

finally explains what the call said

46:08

and he's being very

46:10

clear he's like we were gonna

46:12

go to the Louisiana parole department

46:14

check in on the third so

46:16

then she gets another call and

46:19

it's from the Louisiana parole officer

46:21

and the Louisiana parole officer is

46:23

singing a totally different tune. Yeah

46:25

yeah he's like look I'm just

46:27

trying to figure out what's going on

46:29

here what's your plan and she tells

46:31

him the plan he goes cool you want

46:33

to come down here on the first that's

46:36

fine because no one will even be here

46:38

to process you until January 3rd. It's the

46:40

holidays. So you're good like go do your

46:42

thing you come down here it's fine and

46:44

so now she's relieved right she's thinking

46:46

oh good I'm good to go but he

46:48

does say you can come down here on

46:51

the first but if I were you I

46:53

would keep a very low profile. She

46:55

kind of scoffs at that like she's like okay

46:57

I mean I just got followed going to the

47:00

DSW trying to get a pair of sneakers but

47:02

I'll try my best. But I mean I think

47:04

what he's saying is if I were you I

47:06

wouldn't go to the Chiefs game. Right

47:08

yes totally and he's being

47:11

really really reasonable he's being

47:13

really sweet he's like I mean

47:15

what is she gonna do she can't

47:17

even check in there. Now this back

47:19

and forth is giving me agita. 30

47:21

minutes later the Missouri parole board calls

47:23

and he's like uh hey girl are

47:25

you on your way to Louisiana? And

47:27

she's like um so Mike

47:29

gets on the phone Mike the lawyer he's

47:32

like hey we just spoke to the Louisiana

47:34

parole people and Missouri was like uh-huh and

47:36

you're gonna go now are you leaving is

47:38

the car running did you get gassed does

47:40

everyone have snacks for the road? And they

47:43

were like she's been up since 1 a.m.

47:46

they just drew the

47:48

night to

47:50

get to this house that we're trying

47:52

to have Christmas at can she just

47:55

go in the morning like they're being

47:57

ridiculous and the lack of communication between

47:59

both departments Louisiana, they're so

48:01

cool. They're like, listen, we're gonna

48:03

be, we're gonna be having, do

48:05

we have King Kake at Christmas? I don't know. Do

48:08

we have King Kake at, I don't know. Whatever we

48:10

have in Louisiana, we're gonna have crawdads and beignets and

48:12

gumbo. And we're not gonna be there to the third, maybe

48:14

the fourth. I don't know, this is Louisiana. We make

48:16

our own time. Listen, I'm gonna venture to say that

48:18

the Missouri Parole Board would not have released

48:21

her earlier if it were not for the

48:23

pressure that was put on them. I think

48:25

that they're resentful of it. She's technically

48:27

still their responsibility. And they're like, we want

48:30

you out of here. We don't wanna have to

48:32

deal with you, hear about you. We don't wanna

48:34

see you on the news at a Chiefs game.

48:36

Get the fuck out of Missouri. Right,

48:38

but then she says later, I'll say

48:40

this now, she's like, I should be

48:43

treated like everyone else, which is true.

48:45

Yes, she is sort of this celebrity.

48:47

Can I think of another name? What's

48:50

another name? She is- She has notoriety.

48:52

Notoriety, right. She's this notorious person and

48:55

that's not really her fault. And

48:57

so Missouri was like, nope, you

48:59

gotta go, you gotta go report

49:01

immediately. And they're like, no, she

49:03

doesn't. Like you might want her

49:06

out of Missouri. We get that,

49:08

but Louisiana is not even gonna be

49:10

there to process her and they're not

49:12

communicating. Louisiana and Missouri are not communicating.

49:14

I get that Missouri wants her out.

49:16

Can you just let this woman have

49:18

her turkey dinner and her mashed potatoes

49:20

with her fucking family that she hasn't

49:22

seen for all this time? Well, the

49:24

answer is no. It seems a little

49:26

bit ridiculous because if she were a

49:28

quote normal person on parole, this wouldn't

49:30

be happening. Yeah, well, what they don't

49:32

understand too is that Gypsy is caught

49:34

in the middle of this and she just

49:36

wants to follow the rules. Cause she said,

49:38

if they want me to go tomorrow,

49:41

I will go tomorrow. I am not

49:43

trying to go back to jail for

49:45

breaking my parole, but I'm getting two

49:47

different answers. Y'all need to get on the

49:49

same page. It sucks. And it sucks that it's

49:51

happening literally. It's not even been a full 24

49:53

hours since she got out of jail. She just

49:55

wanted to spend time with her family and her husband. I

49:58

just need a minute, okay? It's okay.

50:01

It's okay. You did the hardest part. They are

50:03

not going to send you back. They are not going to send you

50:05

back, Jux. I'm so sorry. I didn't want to be sorry. I'm

50:07

sorry. And this sends

50:09

her into what seems to

50:11

be the most important part

50:14

of the story. And

50:16

this sends her into what

50:19

seems to me to be a full on panic

50:21

attack. Yeah.

50:34

And she's terrified. She runs to the bathroom.

50:36

She can barely breathe. And Christy is trying

50:38

to calm her down. And she's like, I

50:40

don't want to go back. I don't because

50:42

if you break parole, that's it. If you

50:44

mess something up on parole, you are out

50:47

under the stipulations that you are following your

50:49

parole. So she doesn't want to go back

50:51

to prison. And she says, I want to

50:53

be a good person on

50:55

parole. I want to follow the

50:57

directions. I want to fall in

51:00

line because she wants her freedom.

51:02

Also, there's another question here of

51:04

resources, right? So the family

51:06

probably spent a pretty penny on that Airbnb

51:08

in Kansas City. And it's like, cool. You

51:11

want me out of here. We're not rich people.

51:13

We can't just go find an Airbnb between here

51:15

and there and like figure it all out and

51:18

spend money on gas or flights and all that.

51:20

You're asking a lot. And if this

51:22

was the case, if this is what it was going

51:24

to be for Missouri, you should have said that

51:26

a long time ago. You know, honestly,

51:29

and I just am thinking of this

51:31

now and it could be wrong. I'm

51:33

just speculating. I think they might have

51:35

seen everything blow up on TikTok. Because

51:38

why are they so pressed in

51:40

this moment? She already got it

51:42

OK with her parole officer. They

51:44

followed all of the rules. They

51:46

got the Chiefs game OK. They

51:49

got the Airbnb OK. And

51:51

all of a sudden they're pulling the rug out from under

51:53

her and being like, nope, nope, nope. And

51:56

I get it. Listen, you know, their job is to keep

51:58

everybody safe. They just

52:00

want her out, but it's not her fault

52:03

that everything blew up on TikTok the way

52:05

it did and it did I

52:07

mean it went crazy if you were

52:09

on TikTok no matter what your algorithm

52:11

is. I'm sure you saw something about

52:13

her release Oh, absolutely. I promise you

52:15

that that parole officer has a supervisor over

52:17

his shoulder saying get rid of her now

52:20

He's like well, she's playing it I don't want to hear the

52:22

plan get her the fuck out

52:24

of Missouri and I got a give it

52:26

to her like she didn't cry Until this moment. I

52:29

would have started crying in the car. I Would

52:32

have been so overwhelmed I would have

52:34

started crying and she kept agreeing to

52:36

everything you can't go to the Chiefs

52:38

game. Okay, you can't do that Okay,

52:40

all she wants to do is sit

52:43

with her family eat some food

52:45

hang out I don't

52:47

know where this is gonna go But I just

52:49

I feel so bad for her also imagine wanting

52:51

to spend time with your family that much I'd

52:54

be like Louisiana that sounds great There

52:56

are train that can get me there faster

52:58

because I do not want to sit with

53:00

you fucking weirdos and talk about your potato

53:02

Salad recipe for one more. Hey, Louisiana

53:05

is a wonderful place and the people

53:07

who come out of it are all fine None

53:09

of them have trauma at all.

53:11

They're not weird. They are normal

53:13

I say so very

53:16

normal the normal list some

53:18

might say Of

53:20

all the normal people. Yes, just

53:22

like Oakland So listen, that's kind

53:24

of where the episode ends and then we

53:27

get a preview of what to expect

53:29

for the season My stars

53:31

this on scenes from the next.

53:33

Oh my gosh My

53:36

mom it's not easy to live with

53:42

Come here I had my freedom now I

53:45

Feel like everything I do is on

53:47

a microscope am I at risk for

53:49

dangerous people? I've been getting death threats

53:51

my pearl officer received a complaint. My

53:54

biggest fear is going back to prison.

53:56

I Don't want

53:58

to be the old gypsy what Bridgette? about

54:00

your nose. The bump. All I can say

54:02

is buckle up because this is a roller

54:04

coaster and I don't just mean with the

54:06

storyline, I mean with all of her physical

54:08

changes. Tons of them. I'm on board for

54:10

it. Oh yeah, listen, I'm not judging. Honey, I

54:12

would get that hump on my nose taken out

54:15

too. You do whatever makes you happy, but you

54:17

all have to remember, she was a

54:19

prisoner in her own home. She didn't get to make decisions for

54:21

herself and then she was in prison still not getting to make

54:23

decisions for herself. I personally think

54:25

that she has exited prison with

54:27

the mentality of a 17-year-old. Absolutely, she's

54:29

stunted for sure. I hope watching the show,

54:32

we also witness her mental health journey and

54:34

how she's getting help. This is

54:36

not like your regular love after lockup. This

54:38

really is more of a documentary style show.

54:41

And now we know if you're following the

54:43

story, we know so

54:45

much more has happened, but we'll stay in the

54:47

moment. This is an exercise in self-control. We'll stay

54:49

in the moment. We'll follow it. It's

54:52

coming out weekly. It drops on Mondays and

54:54

then we'll have it the following Thursday

54:56

for you. Yeah. How do

54:58

you feel? Do you feel okay doing this love

55:00

after lockup, my love? I'll tell you, you know,

55:03

despite whatever reservations I have about

55:05

Gypsy Rose Blanchard, I want the best for her.

55:08

I hope she figures it out. I hope she

55:10

has a good life. And what I really hope

55:12

is that she finds a way to

55:14

live her life outside of the media focus. I

55:17

hope she can do that for herself because she

55:19

really needs it. She really

55:21

does need it. But the thing that she

55:23

also has is notoriety. Right. Great

55:25

word. Where she also can help

55:27

people get out of situations so they don't

55:30

end up like her. Yeah.

55:32

I will say, I really

55:34

don't think that this docu-series is the right

55:36

move for her. I don't. I'm

55:38

going to watch it. I'm curious to see how

55:40

it unfolds, but I don't think that this was

55:42

the move. However, I'm not in her position. I

55:45

don't know what her finances look like. I don't

55:47

know what her, you know, I understand she has

55:49

very limited options. I hope it all

55:51

works out. Me too. That's what I

55:53

said at the end of my marriage. I hope

55:56

this all works out for you. Best of luck

55:58

with your project. something

56:00

funny. Well, I learned a lot

56:02

today, but what I really have

56:04

discovered is you are an inspiration.

56:06

You are a poet. Thank you.

56:08

I appreciate that. You're a writer

56:10

and what you have done is inspire

56:13

my new Grindr username because I will

56:15

be forever now known as Speedbag My

56:17

Nuts. Search him if you're ever in

56:19

the vicinity of one of our live

56:22

56:24

of our down bitches comes on stage,

56:26

one of the gays and

56:38

shows me a profile picture on Grindr of

56:40

a full on butt and goes, is this

56:43

you? And I said, it's not me. So

56:45

thank you. But

56:48

listen, it could have been we

56:50

love you down bitches. I hope you enjoy

56:52

this love after lockup. You know, we could
