Meanwhile, Kylie's father Jean probes her about any dangerous magical forces she may have encountered, claiming he only wants to protect her. But after witnessing Jean uses magic to create carefully controlled chaos, Kylie questions his motives. 

As Jean leads Kylie away for a talk, his flesh takes on a haunting, weathered appearance, revealing his true nature. At the same time, across town, Bridgette stands over a convulsing Lowell, stricken by some malevolent force. With trust in short supply, Kylie now faces a choice that could alter the fates of those she cares for most.
