Imagine a world… 

In our sixth episode of Imagineers in Isolation, we are excited to introduce you to the wonderful Nicole Voevodin-Cash. Nicole is a contemporary Queensland artist based in the regions, who holds a Dip.Fine Arts, Grad Dip.Art Teaching, a Masters of Visual Arts. She has taught and lectured in various institutions in Queensland CQU, USC, QUT and was an Education Officer at the QAG. She is currently on the Sunshine Coast Arts Advisory, Sunshine Coast Creative Alliance Boards, Teaching Artist and Arts Curator at Montessori International College, and Director of RUN Ari. 

With a prolific career spanning across the globe, Nicole’s art practice encompasses land art, public art, installation, performance, film, digital technologies and sculpture. She’s undertaken residencies in Milan, Liverpool UK, Hobart Tasmania, Bundanon NSW, Albury, Thurning Villa Sydney, Sydney Olympic Park, Lorne, and Melbourne and is the recipient of various Australia Council, Arts Queensland And Regional Arts Grants over the course of her career. Core to her work is the analytical research she constantly undertakes of how we move through our landscape, shaping her work through such behaviour researching for the development of new ways to engage her audiences.

She was selected for the Lorne Sculpture Biennale to exhibit her inflatable ‘Tree Museum’, whereby the tree was consumed by a white inflatable room to objectify and take it from the forest for people to get up close and personal and to really see it for the first time. In addition, Nicole also created a landscape activation public program titled ‘The Billycan’ project M.A.D.E Walking. This walking project, saw the audience carry a billycan while experiencing and looking at the Biennale over a 5km walk.  By using this kinetic energy of the audience's movement a drawing was produced via a weighted pen over paper inside the Billycan. These projects poetically spoke of the poignant landscape we live in. She is currently working on a digital billycan project version as an app on your phone to create generative art from walking.

 Recently started a not for profit artist run initiative called RUN.
