n this week’s episode we go In Between The Lines with author, writer, and film maker Lisa N. Alexander and her latest film “My Father The Queen”. And we are joined by special guest host Chris Akinbuwa of “I Love Nerd Life”. The film has won multiple awards for its screenplay, most notably Best Script Award-London for the best LGBT Screenplay. The film addresses mental health in the Black community, what happens to the family dynamic and familial relationships when a member chooses to live closeted, how “daddy issues” manifest in real life, and finally, what healing looks like. We ask Ms. Alexander about her own life stories and how this film, and it’s creation has affected the relationship with her father. All that, and much more.
