Hi there. I am thrilled you are downloading this
0:02
podcast and it is my hope and my prayer
0:04
that you're going to hear something that's going to
0:06
change you, encourage you, edify, equip you, and then
0:08
get you out there into the marketplace of ideas
0:10
where you can let your light so shine for
0:12
him. But before you go, just a minute, can
0:14
I talk to you one second about this month's
0:16
truth tool? I love it. I love the title.
0:18
I love the author. It's called How to Talk
0:21
About Jesus Without Looking Like an Idiot. Hello. How
0:23
many of us feel that? How many of
0:25
us panic? We don't want to talk about
0:27
Jesus. We're afraid we're going to be marginalized.
0:29
We're going to look stupid. We know that
0:31
it's tough to talk about faith in this
0:33
cancel woke culture, but you know what? We're
0:35
told to go. Jesus knows the culture we
0:37
live in, but we're told to go and
0:39
tell. And that's what this book does in
0:41
the most pragmatic way. This brilliant man, Andy
0:44
Bannister, who really and truly understands apologetics, teaches
0:46
us how to step into natural, fearless, effortless
0:48
conversations to share the good news of the
0:50
gospel of Jesus Christ. I don't know about
0:52
you, but none of us is ever too
0:54
old to learn how to do this because
0:56
the directive to go and tell has never
0:58
changed. That's for every single one of us.
1:00
So I really encourage you this month, get
1:02
a copy of How to Talk About Jesus
1:04
Without Looking Like an Idiot. It's my way
1:06
of saying thank you when you financially support
1:08
the program. We are in fact, listener supported
1:10
radio. So you can give one time and
1:12
get that month's truth tool, or you can
1:14
give every single month and I'll tell you
1:16
about that in a moment. But again, this
1:18
month, if you want a copy of How
1:20
to Talk About Jesus Without Looking Like an
1:22
Idiot, just call 877-Janet58 and we'll get a
1:24
book in your hands.
1:29
Again, a gift of any amount and How to
1:31
Talk About Jesus Without Looking Like an Idiot is
1:33
yours. Or you can do that same thing online
1:35
at In the Market with janetpartial.org. You
1:38
have to scroll to the bottom of the page. There's
1:40
the cover of the book. Click it on and you
1:42
can make your gift right through the website. While you're
1:44
on the website, link there for a minute and see
1:46
what it means to be a partial partner. These are
1:48
people who give every single month at a level of
1:50
their own choosing. You always are given the opportunity to
1:52
get the truth tool, just as our way of saying
1:54
thank you for being a partial partner. But in addition
1:56
to the truth tool, we'll also give you a copy
1:58
of How to Talk About Jesus Illinois
18:00
to Seattle, Washington. When we come back, can
18:02
you give some of those examples to us
18:04
so that, as you said before, it isn't
18:06
just the corporate values. These are corporate values
18:08
that have trickled down and have showed up
18:10
possibly at a YMCA near you. Katie
18:13
Brown is with us. She is National Director
18:15
for American Life League. We're talking about their
18:17
charity watch list and the drift that's happening
18:19
back at this. We're
18:27
visiting with Katie Brown, who is the National
18:29
Director for American Life League. American
18:31
Life League's been around since 1979. They
18:34
are one of the heroes, I think, of the pro-life
18:36
movement. They've also been fighting for families, by the way, and
18:39
those values that have protected our families
18:41
for decades and decades and decades. On
18:43
our website, we have a link to the
18:45
American Life League charity watch. I am personally
18:47
so grateful because they help us in our
18:49
house to make wise choices about
18:52
where we're going to give our dollars and
18:54
what associations we're going to have with certain
18:56
charities based on corporate values. This will make
18:58
it very easy for you. Included in the
19:01
charity watch list this year is the YMCA
19:03
because there has been a purposeful
19:05
drift away from the Christian roots.
19:07
Remember, this is a 180-year-old organization
19:09
that really was about offering Christ's
19:11
love to people who were hurting
19:13
and building character, body, mind, spirit,
19:15
soul, all of it together. You
19:18
in this report, the co-author of this report,
19:20
particularly on the charity watch list and the
19:22
YMCA, talks about the fact that there are
19:25
all kinds of incidents that have taken place.
19:28
As a wake-up call to people listening, Katie, all across the country,
19:30
if you'd be so kind, share some of those incidents. Of
19:33
course, the one that kind of disturbs me the
19:35
most is comes out of Springfield, Illinois. There was
19:38
a 16-year-old girl who was actually forced to leave
19:40
her swim team at the YMCA because
19:43
she felt brave enough to protest their bathroom
19:45
policy, which says that anyone can
19:47
use the bathroom that they most identify with,
19:49
which of course means that there are unclothed
19:52
men in her locker room. So the 16-year-old
19:54
girl was forced to leave her swim team
19:57
just because she felt strong enough to stand
19:59
up. up against this. There's
20:02
a similar instance in San
20:04
Diego where a 17-year-old
20:06
girl stepped out of the shower, saw
20:08
a naked man in the bathroom, went
20:10
and told the YMCA employees and was
20:12
actually, she
20:14
was actually condemned by the YMCA personnel
20:17
because she felt the need, or because
20:19
she felt strong enough to come out
20:21
and speak out against it. And the
20:23
thing that really, the reoccurring
20:25
theme with all of these instances is
20:27
that every single time the teenage
20:29
girl plays the
20:32
perpetrator, I guess you could say, in this role.
20:34
So the YMCA comes after the teenage girl rather
20:36
than get the naked man out of the bathroom,
20:38
which is just kind
20:40
of an upside down world we're living in. Yes, yes
20:42
it is. And
20:45
then there's also several instances in Ohio,
20:47
for some reason the YMCA is in
20:50
Ohio where a lot of these
20:52
instances are recorded, which with
20:54
more of the same people taking
20:56
their five and ten-year-old children into the
20:58
women's locker room and encountering naked men.
21:02
But the good thing is, out in Ohio there's actually a
21:04
group of women who are really starting to speak out against
21:06
this. But unfortunately, kind of
21:08
like with the other reoccurring instances here,
21:11
have received zero support, or even
21:13
any mention from the YMCA themselves.
21:17
Unbelievable. You point out that the Y
21:19
in Northbrook, Illinois allows people to choose
21:21
the locker room they most identify with,
21:24
that apparently there are affirming LGBTQ
21:27
plus communities with pride that are
21:29
promoted. Local events
21:31
led by YMCA, LGBTQ plus
21:34
employees, Seattle Washington, even
21:37
got a website that has listed
21:39
resources for LGBTQ plus teens, including
21:41
abortion provider Planned Parenthood, which is
21:43
described as a, quote, learning and
21:46
service provider for health and wellness, including
21:48
specialized service for individuals of all gender identities
21:50
and sexual orientations. Katie, maybe it's just me.
21:52
Stop me when we get to the Christian
21:55
part of this. I'm very confused. No,
21:58
and that's why we've added them. among
24:00
other things, takes this whole
24:02
idea of locker rooms and bathrooms and
24:04
blows it to smithereens. Now, I mean,
24:06
according to this federal push, if
24:08
the rewrite subtitle line stand
24:11
unchallenged and they're already being challenged, I think
24:13
we're up to 20 lawsuits against it now
24:15
and the number's growing. It's
24:17
bad enough when it's at your local school and
24:19
your school takes federal funding, therefore you fall under
24:21
the saber of these kinds of directives. But
24:24
the why is a separate entity. It's a
24:26
corporation that you have the choice to go
24:28
to or not to go to. So
24:30
now you better find out for your child safety,
24:32
for your wellbeing, what their policies are. And you
24:35
know, this is why I love American Life League
24:37
and have since its inception in 1979. They
24:40
do the work. Then I get to get the
24:43
information and then I, according to the director in
24:45
scripture, can look well to the ways
24:47
of my household. That's really what this is all
24:49
about. God fills your grain houses. You are responsible
24:51
to Him in a stewardship capacity. Where do you
24:53
spend your money? You need somebody to tell you
24:55
what the corporate values are. That's one of the
24:58
many things that American Life League does. So Katie,
25:00
again, I want to tell my friends, I've got
25:02
the list right there in my information page. Don't
25:04
email, it's right there for you to check it
25:07
out, make your decisions. Katie, thank you so much.
25:09
I hope this is the first of many conversations
25:11
we have together. Thank you for all that you
25:13
do through American Life League. Back after this. Jesus
25:28
told us to go into the world and not run
25:30
away from it. And He didn't say it would be
25:32
easy. In the Market with Janet Parcel is a program
25:35
designed to come alongside and walk with you into the
25:37
marketplace of ideas. Parcel Partners are
25:39
those friends who support our program on a regular
25:41
monthly basis. They know the mandate of influencing and
25:43
occupying until He comes. So why don't you become
25:45
part of the Inner Circle of Support? Call
25:48
877-JANET58 or go to In the Market
25:50
with Janet Parcel dot ORG. Well,
25:54
there really is a theme to this hour and
25:57
I have to give God again all the glory
25:59
because if
38:00
you're looking for an alternative you want American
38:02
heritage girls and the websites easy American heritage
38:04
girls dot o-r-g and when you
38:07
get to that website one of the things they
38:09
do because this is about equipping young Saints they've
38:12
got an e-book that you can now download and
38:14
use in your family as well and it's very
38:16
important particularly as we sit here getting
38:19
through the so-called pride month well the e-book
38:21
is called raising godly girls guide to gender
38:23
and identity so Patty break this down a
38:25
little bit more for me it's going to
38:27
be up there in our website if they
38:29
don't go to American heritage girls dot o-r-g
38:31
it's right there on our information page it's
38:33
a direct link for you to be able
38:35
to download it either way we want to
38:37
get this in your hands so
38:40
how who's the targeted age what a parent's
38:42
gonna find when they open this up what's
38:44
your goal well
38:47
the goal is to really inform
38:49
and equip parents as to
38:51
what the issue is why it's important and
38:53
the importance of getting and talking with your
38:56
daughter earlier than later and the target age
38:58
really is ages five I mean the girls
39:00
we serve five to eighteen and this is
39:02
a parent going through this book with her
39:05
there is nothing that is what shall I
39:07
say something that would be
39:09
offensive although all this whole thing can
39:11
appear offensive but we do it from
39:13
a perspective of a biblical worldview which
39:15
we do all things in American heritage
39:18
girls so first we dive in to
39:20
talk about what gender what a cultural
39:22
understanding of gender is which is meaning
39:24
what the society say versus what does
39:26
God say and that's important with whatever
39:29
we do is to look at everything
39:31
through a biblical worldview lens and there
39:33
are differences very very strong differences and
39:35
because there are such strong differences we
39:37
also then include a glossary of terms
39:39
because as we know the progressives have
39:42
taken over our dictionary words that used
39:44
to mean one thing now means something
39:46
else and so we need to know
39:48
the terms because an equipped parent a
39:50
parent that knows what she's talking about
39:53
or he's talking about is one that
39:55
understands these glossary of terms so that's
39:57
really important next we dive into
39:59
Janice a little bit about how to prepare your
40:01
heart for this discussion. Because
40:03
one key thing that we've learned
40:06
is that an alarmed parent, a
40:08
scared parent, a fearful parent, a
40:10
freaked out parent is not a parent that a girl
40:12
will go back to. They will think
40:14
mom doesn't know what she's talking about, dad is
40:16
afraid of this subject, I'm going to find somebody
40:19
who will and often times those are
40:21
friends and peers or people on the
40:23
internet. So you want to make sure
40:25
that you prepare your heart through prayer
40:27
and through a calmness and be ready
40:29
to really talk about this with your
40:31
daughter. And then we offer open ended
40:33
questions to ask that we all that
40:35
have been parents know it is easy
40:37
for our children to answer yes, no
40:39
questions and then they want to shut it off.
40:42
It has to be open ended. And so this
40:44
is a prodding question so that you
40:46
have real answers so that you know
40:48
where your daughter's heart posture is on
40:50
this issue as well. And then we
40:52
go into some activity pages and part
40:54
of this is to pull the Scripture
40:56
and to open up the
40:58
Bible and to say, Who does God
41:00
say I am? What is
41:03
that identity? What is God's design for me?
41:05
What is that divine design? And
41:07
we start to look into that and
41:09
to see that the relevancy of the
41:11
Bible is so obvious in today's world
41:13
and particularly around this
41:15
particular subject. Then we
41:17
go on and we have some resources for
41:19
that are additional that go even deeper. We
41:22
go we believe strongly in aligning with
41:24
like minded biblically based
41:27
resources and psychological resources
41:29
and then what to do when you feel
41:31
like I think my daughter is really struggling
41:34
with this. I need pastoral and
41:36
I need Christian counseling care how
41:38
to find those kinds of people
41:40
in your life. And then you
41:42
can go on and learn more about raising godly
41:44
girls and all the issues that
41:46
we talk about in today's society
41:48
for today's girl and today's parent,
41:50
quite frankly. Wow. What
41:53
an unbelievably important resource. We
41:55
could talk about this for hours, but I'd love to have
41:58
my friends listening get just a sense of this. When
42:00
we talk about godly femininity, I know that
42:02
someone who doesn't yet know the Lord is
42:04
their Savior think it means lipstick, high heels,
42:06
and an apron. That's not
42:09
what we're talking about. Can you break that
42:11
down a little bit? So when we want
42:13
to instill in our daughters and our granddaughters
42:15
this precious gift of godly femininity, what
42:18
are we talking about? Really
42:21
talking about the beauty and uniqueness in
42:23
the way that the Lord has created
42:25
us. It is not a
42:28
stereotype or a labeling. For years
42:31
in the 70s we were trying to break
42:33
all the labels and break the glass ceiling
42:35
and do all these things and now we're
42:37
putting each other in boxes. So this is
42:39
not to put someone in a box but
42:41
to understand that there is a difference between
42:44
male and female. It is worth celebrating. That
42:46
doesn't mean that you might like something that
42:48
your sister might not like and that makes
42:50
you a boy. No.
42:52
That you are unique and that God
42:55
created you in the gender that you
42:57
were to be, in the birth sexuality
42:59
that you are to be. Not
43:01
assigned at birth, those are some of the
43:03
glossary terms we cover by the way, but
43:05
also the fact that we are biologically male
43:08
and female and that is to be celebrated
43:10
and we enjoy different things. We have unique
43:12
strengths and we have unique weaknesses but that
43:14
doesn't make us less than. And
43:16
so to celebrate what God has already
43:19
done for us and that divine design
43:21
is worthwhile. Amen to
43:23
that. So again to draw
43:25
the distinctive between a Christ-centered organization that
43:27
develops character in young girls to young
43:29
women and the Girl Scouts which has
43:31
lost its way. The Girl Scouts
43:34
now have an LGBTQ Pride badge. If
43:36
you're at the various levels, whether it's
43:38
children beginning in kindergarten all the way
43:40
up to junior Girl Scouts, you
43:42
have to participate in three Pride
43:44
related events to earn the patch.
43:46
So the indoctrination, the propaganda continues.
43:48
But in American Heritage Girls you
43:50
have something now called the True
43:52
Girl Patch Program. Tell me what
43:55
that is. We
43:57
are so excited to be coming alongside.
