Why do we do what we do in regards to anything? Do we actually take stock of what we’re doing with our time, or do we live on some sort of autopilot?

While it’s not possible to think every choice down to granular detail, it is important to take time to overview what it is you are doing in a day, where your money is being spent, and whether or not you feel satisfied with your choices. This metric of feeling satisfied with your choices is important since it gives you information on multiple levels. 

This simple point of data shows whether or not you’re doing things in line with your conscience, and whether or not you need to make changes to stay on course for your long term goals.  Maybe something is banal, and unimportant, but maybe it's a small change which reminds you to move forward, and can help develop other good habits. 

If you’re going to scroll through social media, why not scroll through things that are actually related to what you’re trying to build. 

If you sell coffee, look through things about improving your product, or get ideas for how you want to build your company culture, or advertising. 

Never forget the value of sleep and resting. A mind full of things without direction is unhelpful. Take time to clear out the noise, and clarify where it is you’ll be putting your efforts. Sleep does more for productivity than being busy all the time for the sake of doing something.
